Alec & Hilaria Baldwin are expecting another kid, their third in four years

hilaria1

The Alec Baldwin-Hilaria Baldwin love story never fails to amuse me. He’s an anger-bear who hates every media outlet, and she’s a thirsty self-starter looking to parlay the Baldwin name into fame and riches. They shouldn’t work, but they do. Even though Alec was already well into his 50s when he married Hilaria, and even though he already had a late-teen daughter (Ireland, who is 20 years old now), he still decided to do the second-family thing with Hilaria. They welcomed daughter Carmen Gabriela Baldwin in August 2013, then son Rafael Thomas Baldwin in 2015. And she’s already knocked up with a third kid! That will make three children in four years. We get it, Alec! You are still capable of making babies.

Anyway, Hilaria posted the above Instagram image on Wednesday, writing: “Ireland, Carmen, Rafael, Alec, and I are excited to share with you that we are going to have another addition to our family. A little boy coming this fall.” Mazel tov and God bless. Is it worth mentioning the ages? Alec is 57 years old. Hilaria is 32 (although I’m side-eyeing that age).

Also – last year, there was some speculation that Alec and Hilaria employ FIVE childcare professionals. Like, Alec was trying to say gracias to all of the people who help care for his kids, and he named five people. How many more nannies will Hilaria hire when this third kid comes?

I don’t like her because she’s so out there but she is pretty. Other than that, they can have a dozen kids. Who cares?

  2. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I don’t like either one of them. I just hope he doesn’t call those children ugly names like he did Ireland.

    • Sabrine says:

That was 11 years ago and Ireland and Alec have made jokes about the pig comment for years, even “reading” a kids’ book together with a pig on the front. Let it go already! Hilaria looks 32 with a great body. She does seem to like showing off her Yoga poses but there’s worse things and Alec seems to love it. Check her Instagram….great wife and mother right here.

    • Santia says:

Newsflash: kids can be vitriolic, stubborn, annoying and, yes, thoughtless. Another newsflash: sometimes parents say things they later regret. It’s a part of life. We are just lucky no one is following us around 24 hours a day and/or recording our conversations.

      • mkyarwood says:

Yeah, my dad said that and worse to me growing up, and now he’s my sensitive elder daughter’s greatest champion. Angry dads in the 80’s who finally mellow the eff out. Gotta love ’em.

      • crtb says:

I always felt the same way. Go to any supermarket or mall and you’ll hear worse. Alec proved over and over again how much he wanted to be in his daughter’s life. He would fly to the west coast just to spend a couple of hours with her. Even Kim’s family has come out and said that she was alienating his daughter from him. Want to know what is worse than calling your child a pig? Releasing it for the entire world to hear.

    • Jwoolman says:

At first I thought you meant Ireland (the land of my ancestors) was an ugly name and was about to defend. See, this is how internet wars start. People reading before their eyes start to focus in the morning.

  3. Kate says:

    I’d say she’s 42.

    • Jayna says:

I saw her in interviews with Alec and in person she doesn’t look older than her age at all. She is very pretty I have to admit and very bubbly in personality. She does love the limelight, though, but he doesn’t seem to mind.

    • Truthful says:

me too! That’s not 32…and I saw her in interview too. I say 38 at best, otherwise something between 38 and 42.

      On another thing; that’s a rough 57!

      • Azurea says:

Naw. I’m on dating sites (huge sigh) & most of the men 55 plus look like all kinds of hell. Even a lot of early 50s guys (although I know a lot of them are lying about their ages.

    • Joni says:

Yeah, she thinks we’re stupid. That is NOT a 32 year old.

      • crtb says:

well lets pretend that all of you are correct and she is really in her 40’s. Then she looks amazing for her age. Not a fan but I just started to study yoga and I wish that someday I will halfway to her level

      • Truthful says:

@crtb: she looks normal for her 40s, my aunties are early 50s and late 40s and look almost as good.

Mys sis is 33 and cannot pass for being in the same age bracket than her. real life , real people.
She is an attractive 40s year old, in 2016 that’s not shocking… but trying to pass for a 32 yrs old seem very very ambitious…and laughable!

    • moo moo says:

her black hair takes over and makes her look older. if you focus on just her face or picture her with lighter colored hair, she definitely looks young.

  4. GoSsip says:

You should check out her Instagram account. She is a devoted mother and clearly adores her children and her husband. I took a yoga class from her a few months ago in NYC and she is really beautiful and calm. Hilaria definitely loves the attention but I think she is a wonderful mama and a good influence on Alec!

  5. Jayna says:

I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but for a year or actually longer Alec has been downright friendly in any pap encounter or nonchalant, no anger issues. I’ve been waiting and no regressing to his old behavior, just steady as can be when out and about, and dare I say, even downright happy. Medicated?

    • suze says:

      Perhaps!

Or just old and worn out from chasing kids well into late middle age.

Hey, whatever. If having a brood of kids in your dotage soothes the anger bear, so be it.

  6. willful ignorance says:

    Opposites attract!

    And about the nanny comment.

I see nothing unusual for a couple to have good people they can count on to help with their children.

Of course in this case it is not at the same time.

    • Jayna says:

Well, I appreciate that they don’t hide it. There are certain celebs that have lots of nannies,, but they aren’t allowed to be seen with the parents for any pap shots or strolls.

    • Esmom says:

I remember that story and my impression was that he was thanking all the people who have been involved with caring for their kids, past and present. Not that they had a team of five at any given time.

      • Pickles says:

When you first read it, 5 does seem excessive. But when you think about it, you can’t work an employee 7 days a week. And if they have 24/7 child care, then 5 nannies actually makes sense. They would be on rotation of course, and well rested.

    • Truthful says:

In this case it’s kind of common interests attracts: being famous on one side and underlining how still young (cough cough) and virile he is on the other one… ahhh the perks of true love… makes my eyes watering…;)

    • suze says:

I love that they don’t hide it.

    • hellena says:

I also think that this “huge” number comes up because you can’t hire one nanny for a 24/7 job. Maybe one works on weekends, one in the evening, one when Hilaria does yoga…So, what gives? They both work (I…think?), so they need their nannies to be flexible, timewise.

      • crtb says:

I volunteer at a hospital. One of the people who runs the program asked me if I knew anyone who could help (same as nanny) with an elderly father. I had three great people who worked for me. My grandmother died at the age of 102. My aides call her and she suggested that they would work a 24 hour shift but she would pay them for only 12 hours. So I am very happy that they have five people who work reasonable hours and are not burnt our or taken advantage of. There are 168 hours in a week divided by five means that each nanny works between 30 to 35 hours a week. Don’t forget nannies don’t get a n hour for lunch or coffee breaks.

  7. Another Nina says:

If each kid has his own daytime and nighttime nannies, that already comes up to 4. Another specialist can focus, for example, on physical training or communicating in Spanish…Plus both parents work, they don’t use taxpayers funds as is the case with Cambridges….So, bottom line, what’s the reason for judging them?

    • PennyLane says:

The only problem with nannies is is that they eventually leave, which can be difficult for the kid because often times in situations such as this the nanny is the child’s true mother. And then they’re stuck with an awful person who’s very self-centered shallow and self absorbed who is the real mother. That’s not the nanny’s fault, however.

    • boredblond says:

Imagine–there are actually parents who do all these jobs themselves 24/7

      • Ennie says:

I could not do it if I had kids, with my out of mind schedule, morning, afternoon and evening working at different times. Even my family needed nannies when my parents were raising us, and we were just barely hitting middle class.

      • Another Nina says:

I do believe that it takes a village to raise up a kid and that it’s only to the best if kid is surrounded not only by parents. Of course, traditional model assumes a circle of parents/grandparents/aunts,uncles. But I know wonderful professional nannies, who take care of kids for decades and bring a structure and wisdom in everyday life of many families. Why not?

  8. Sayrah says:

Not surprising at all. He told Howard Stern they would love to have another child probably 6 months ago.

  9. Naya says:

Look at his daughter, damn those Baldwin genes are powerful.

    • Esmom says:

I know, I sorta gasped when I saw her. She is ALL Baldwin.

      • Hannah says:

Interesting – as a baby she was Hilaria’s twin – she posted a lot of side by side baby photos. But what a beautiful child!

      • Maribel says:

Hilaria dyes her hair that darker color and fake tans a lot to up the “I’m Spanish!” myth she’s got going on (she was born in Spain, named Hilary, to American Anglo descent parents and was raised in the USA. Her occasional Spanish accent is fake). If she let herself be more ‘natural’ she’d look her age and people wouldn’t gasp at how different the baby looks to her. They actually share their coloring other than the eyes, believe it or not.

      • Ange says:

Yeah his face on a baby girl is…. not good.

      • qwerty says:

Maribel, how do you know this?

      • Jwoolman says:

Maribel- so her Spanish connection, thanks to accident of birth, is important to her. That’s a crime? A Spanish site (in Spain) said she has traveled back and forth between the U.S. and Spain, including in her childhood. She probably has friends and even family still there. It’s important enough to her that she has maintained fluency in Spanish and wants her children to speak Spanish and gave them Spanish names. It’s ok to do that, regardless of genetics.

People do move around a lot these days. We need to get used to the fact that people can form attachments to places not directly associated with their ancestry. Like immigrants and their children do all the time.

    • Snowflake says:

She is so adorable, I love seeing pictures of that little cutie.

      • Maribel says:

@qwerty lived in same town as her family in US. Common knowledge here, especially amongst us actual Spaniards.

    • What's inside says:

Yes, I could not agree more. Cute baby, but what havoc will the Baldwin genes wreak? I have not seen any pics of the little boy though to see if this is holding true.

  10. janel says:

    That’s hilarious!

  11. Joni says:

Oh god, 3 little kids close in age sounds like a nightmare. At least they have nannies.

  12. Lora says:

I hate her bangs thats all I got to say

  13. Beckysuz says:

Honestly sometimes I wish I had a nanny just so I could grocery shop alone. That is one of the small things that became hard because my 2 yo is a crazy man. Adorable but hyper. I wonder if there are any nannies that want to work two hours once a week? Lol

  14. drnotknowitall says:

I dunno, I like them. I like how she is always doing crafty stuff with her kids too. Call me crazy. Congrats on the new baby!

  15. JRenee says:

I didn’t realize she was only 32, wow. God bless the calming effects the wife/kuds have made on Alex.
If I had kuds that age and could afford it, I’d hire help too, so what!

  16. hogtowngooner says:

Her pregnancy’s going to be thirstier than Chrissy Teigen’s.

  17. HeyThere! says:

How is she only 32?! I thought she was 40 something. News to me!

  18. Marianne says:

I personally wouldnt want to have kids so close to each like that, but if they’re happy and healthy then more power to them.

  19. Juniper says:

My friend had an old Dad–his fathet had his so when he was close to sixty. Then his pop died when he was 25. The son is angry and wants kids now cuz he wants to be a “young dad.”
