Benedict Cumberbatch & Prince Harry watched a rugby game this weekend

Benedict Cumberbatch has appeared! It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen him. I know it was Cumberbatch overload in late 2014/early 2015, but ever since last summer, Benedict really has taken a step back from being in our faces. While that’s nice and it’s good to see that he doesn’t need to be Bendy Batch at all times, I would like to see more of him. Anyway, Benedict was out this weekend for the England versus Wales rugby match. He was standing one or two rows behind Prince Harry (I’m also including Harry photos, obviously).

As I said, Benedict is trying to be quieter these days, but we might get some old-fashioned Cumberchaos in a few months, because the BBC is finally going to air the War of the Roses (part of The Hollow Crown series), featuring Benedict as Richard III. It airs in May on the BBC 2. Will Benedict do some press around it? I hope so.

He’s also got Doctor Strange coming out this year – as of right now, the release date is November 4th. And you know he’ll have to #BringOutTheBatch for that one. Marvel will demand that Benedict promote the hell out of Doctor Strange. So… something to look forward to. Will we magically see a pap stroll with baby Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch?

I’m only here for the ELF.

Even if he’s only in profile/half a pic.

He must know what that beard does to people (Harry, I mean) sighhhhhhhh.

Cumby’s in a black trench coat! My day is made.

I’m not from England, and I am surprised how dressed up people were in the stands! Is this typical attire for a rugby match, or more for those sitting in the VIP section?

    • aaa says:

That caught my eye as well.

    • LAK says:

Rugby match crowds are generally better dressed and behaved than football crowds.

However, these photos are primarily the VIP stands and Rugby world’s bigwigs who always attend in smart casual attire.

I am wondering this as well. Where I live, it’s not unusual for men to do without T-shirts and paint their chests with their team’s colors, so seeing everyone dressed up is a different look for me!

Kaiser, I agree that he’ll probably have to do a TON of promotions when Dr Strange gets released. I think we might even see more of him at that point than when he was campaigning for an Oscar.

      • Sixer says:

As LAK says, these are the VIP boxes. This rugby match is part of the prestige series in the season, which attracts a) the great and the good and b) the corporate guests.

Go to a club match at the weekend and you’ll see a normal sports crowd. Including the body paint!

      • Green Girl says:

        Thank you, Sixer and LAK!

I can’t believe rugby is still played without helmets. That is all.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Emily. At least this time she’s not escorting her drunk uncle and his hookup into a cab after a night of partying at the burlesque club.

The ginger beard is looking fine these days. RAWR.

” I know it was Cumberbatch overload in late 2014/early 2015.” You mean the Cumberbatch-Hunter hysteria? Ah, the good old days. 🙂

  8. Snazzy says:

Both look quite handsome – though I have to say considering this post is about PHG and the Batch I am surprised at the limited number of comments!

  9. Sarah01 says:

Love Benedict, love his style and love his work! No one would look twice at Harry if he wasn’t a prince, he’s so not attractive.

Geez…Harry and Cumberbatch and only 19 comments or something…is everyone feeling okay?
