    oh sure, who else?

  2. Kat says:

And today’s winner of the STFU award goes to…

  3. Dingles says:

    She would.

  4. Texas Gal says:

    @ Kat
    Thanks for the laugh!

  5. Annie says:

Of course. She was dropping off in to obscurity like she should after that “Can’t get a job because I’m republican” crap. So she decided to make sure we remembered her.

  6. Hieronymus Grexx says:

Oh there’s a shock. You’d think Miss America was a political office with as much energy and attention this has been receiving.

  7. the original kate says:

i don’t get the outrage at this woman – it’s not like she makes public policy or anything. she’s a freaking beauty pagent contestant, not a rocket scientist. who cares what she thinks? or angie harmon either, for that matter!

  8. hmm says:

Oh Angie, still trying to be relevant?

  9. Lady says:

  10. heh-heh says:

So this is how you get offered a guest spot as a Fox News commentator.

Still, she’s a lot better than Ann Coulter. For starters, Angie (probably) wasn’t born a man.

  11. Ana says:

Of course she would. Anything to get her attention. Go away Angie and take that raspy voice with you!!!

  12. neelyo says:

What does Sharon Osbourne think? Or Jamie Foxx? I guess it makes sense that now all of the other fame whores are going to weigh in on a Perez Hilton scandal. This is going to be a week of unnecessary opinions.

  13. vicsmith says:

I really liked her in Law & Order but now I do believe she should stfu.

  14. I Choose Me says:

    @Kat. 🙂

  15. Vibius says:

This whole Miss California thing is nonsense. If someone who argued for gay marriage lost the sides in this argument would be switched.

Anyways, Angie Harmon is just trying to stay relevant because she knows she cant rely on talent to keep her in the game.

  16. Paulette says:

    One nut-job defending another nut-job.

  17. Daviddavid says:

All of you people are full of sh-t. You don’t have the balls to speak the truth. Everyone when ask always ass kisses gayes in public. You cannot disagree with a homosexual, only a Christian. But ask one of these ass kissers are you gay? They will to a person break all records letting you know ,”No I’m not,I’m straight. Just try it. I think they are perverts, wouldn’t be one for anything. I would not descriminate against one, do their thing, but none of mybest friends, and I don’t feel left out.

  18. Because I Say So says:

To #17: Was that even English? I won’t even get into the idiocy of what I think you’re trying to say. You need to STFU like your idol Harmon

  19. heima says:

    who is angie harmon?
    why is she famous?
she looks like a cheaper version of sandra bullock.

  20. Wresa says:

    Lol, David. What?

  21. Trillion says:

Whoa David. Take a breath. Collect your thoughts. Just remember: As a straight Christian dude you have full rights, live in a country where every Christian holiday is a national holiday, a country where a non-Christian has an extremely slim chance of being elected for any public office. I didn’t really understand your entire comment, but think I got the major point: You are fed up with gays and their supporters being so public and so fervent about wanting all, not some, of the same rights you enjoy. You seem fearful that Christians will be undermined by sharing these rights with others not like them. Just think, many white Christians held this position about black people not very long ago…
Additionally, as a Christian you ought not be bothered by being disagreed with. Unless, of course, your conviction isn’t so solid.

  22. Daviddavid says:

Trillion- I just took a breath, thanks for your completely proper advise. I’m not fearful for christians. I have the guts to say what I think and so many do not.I have never discriminated against anyone for a belief, but I must be honest and say I have for their actions at times.Look what a belief has cost Ms. Cal and Harmon. They do not have the right to believe as they choose. So all the sheep out there who support things with their mouth but are afraid to say what they feel. Thanks Tril for your thoughts, I have listened.

  23. Cate says:

I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically when I read that the comments by Angie Harmon were made at a lumber yard opening in Malibu. Is her career that dead, that she has to attend a lumber yard opening in order to get some press? Wow. Gives new meaning to the phrase “she would go to the opening of an envelope.”

  24. Amy says:

Is Angie desperate for work? I’ve barely heard a word from her since her tv shows been cancelled. All of the sudden she’s everywhere championing Republican/conservative views.

  25. czarina says:

@David and Trillion: how is it that both of you are comparing being gay and being Christian? That’s like comparing apples and oranges. One is a religion and the other is a sexual orientation. I am sure there are many gay Christians. One is not exclusive of the other.
Moreover, while I personally have no issue with gay marriage, rights or what have you, what really bothers me is this “STFU” attitude of the intolerant politically correct.
Extreme left and right meet smack dab in the Circle of Intolerance, where nobody is allowed to have a differing opinion, much less state it publicly or intimate that many other people share that opinion.
While I do not agree with Miss California–or Angie Harmon–I totally respect their right to give their opinion to the world if they want to.
When did we become a society incapable of having an intelligent disagreement, an actual exchange of views, instead of resorting to insults, rudeness and denying people their right to disagree?

  26. Zoe (The Other One) says:

Methink Daviddavid doth protest too much. Come out of the closet and get back to school.

  27. Trillion says:

Czarina, here’s a summary: David’s first comment was hard to follow, but his concern seemed to me to be that gays are tolerated whereas Christians are not. I don’t believe either to be true.
(I also agree with you re. the STFU comments. It always rubs me the wrong way, regardless of whether or not I agree with what it’s referencing)

  28. Musey says:

Angie Harmon is boo-hooing about how we’re “punishing” Miss California for being ‘brave’ enough to be a bigot? The persecution complex there is beautiful, and David up there in the comments is another lovely illustration. “Oh, woe is us, we’re being PUNISHED for stating our belief that gay people should be second-class citizens! We’re such MARTYRS, just like Jesus! The liberals in charge of our country are OPPRESSING us by giving the gays SPECIAL RIIIIGHTS!”

Newsflash, guys–saying that we think you’re wrong is not ‘punishing’ you. Nobody’s locking you up for stating your prejudiced and small-minded opinions, nobody is firing you from your jobs for thinking gays don’t deserve to get married, nobody is beating you up for what you think. We are doing no more and no less than you are. We are stating our opinions. Funny how we’re all allowed to do that in this country.

I also love how even when 99% of this country is still outlawing gay marriage and there are plenty of states who refuse to protect homosexuals under hate-crime laws because ‘well, if they want to stop getting beaten and murdered, they can just stop being gay,’ people like David act like the anti-gays are some terribly suffering, tiny minority.

  29. Texas Gal says:

what really bothers me is this “STFU” attitude of the intolerant politically correct.

    You know what bothers me?
D-list “celebrities” who think we give a rats @** about their political views. I never said she couldn’t have a different opion than my own. What I am saying is, I don’t care what AH thinks PERIOD! She opened her trapper about the whole Miss America to get back in the news. I’m not intolerant about her views. I’m intolerant of her!

  30. czarina says:

@Texas Gal–well, I hesitate to point out that you are on a celebrity blog…that might, occasionally quote celebrities and their opinions. See, what I do is I don’t read the ones that I know I’m going to be seriously annoyed by…I just skip them and make my whole day happier!LOL

  31. Texas Gal says:

Somehow I find that hard to believe bcuz I’ve seen some of your comments today & in most of them you do sound annoyed & should I mention the fact that your responding to my comment?
Besides, C/B does more than quote annoying D-list “celebrities”
    Tootles (=

  32. MB says:

Well, somebody cared enough to interview her and ask of her opinion, and as much as their views may differ from yours, AH and Miss Cali were polite and respectful in stating her views, which is more than you can say for the knee jerk bleeding heart liberal posters on this site who can’t tolerate anyone who stands up for their traditional values and convictions. Typical politically correct mob mentality. This STFU attitude has gotten beyond tedious and predictable. Would you tell someone face-to-face to STFU if their opinion differed from yours? I think people who are in love, be they gay or straight, should have the right to marry. My parents think more traditionally, and I respect their right to their opinion. We can’t agree on every topic, people! Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, do we have to attack?

  33. neelyo says:

‘I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically when I read that the comments by Angie Harmon were made at a lumber yard opening in Malibu.’

Could a chili cook-off be far behind?

  34. poopoo says:

This is a free society. One can have a set of beliefs that differs from yours. It wasn’t long ago when people felt gays were perverted freaks. Most likely some of you. Before political correctness formed your opinions. Now I find it so funny that your all so judgmental about any opposing opinion to what you believe is the popular opinion. Unfortunately the media has made it appear that most people think gays should be able to get married and unfortunately that isn’t true. This woman is religious and she doesn’t think it is OK. that is fine by me. My gay friends also think she had a right to her opinion. Cavil marriage yes. Marriage in a church no. Deal
Angie Harmon has a right to voice her opinion and she isn’t a twat because you don’t agree with her. She just has a different opinion. You better start protecting that right instead o vilifying it.

  35. Ellen Smith says:

Note to Angie: If Miss California was, in fact, penalized for her politically incorrect answer, then perhaps you are being penalized for your lousy acting.

  36. TaylorB says:

I totally support Ms Californias rights to her opinion and her choice to state it, though she didn’t do it very eloquently, but c’est la vie. She shouldn’t be ‘punished’ for it, and she wasn’t, she lost fair and square and to say otherwise is an insult to the young woman who ultimately did win. Her answer wasn’t ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ it was an opinion, it was just a very poorly stated one. A person can make very controversial statements, many people do, but it must be done without tripping over your words and seeming totally confounded, especially at such a late stage in the game.

As for gay marriage rights, that is clearly controversial for some people, not so much for others. I don’t have any problem with gay, straight, etc. marriages. It seems to me that if all of the parties involved are consenting adults, of relatively sound mind, understand what they are choosing by getting married, and are still willing to enter into a marriage that is their business.

  37. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

“Angie Harmon, still incredibly desperate for attention, defends Miss California.”

    Fixed that headline for ya!

  38. whydoibother? says:

Folks, I have to point out that the Lumber Yard is The Malibu Lumber Yard, a “30,000-square-foot outdoor shopping plaza in the beach-chic community of Malibu, California, which launched Saturday held a gaudier opening Tuesday attended by numerous celebrities”.

So, no. She wasn’t at the equivalent of an Ace Hardware opening. That being said, I firmly believe in gays having the right to marry. Firmly resent that people are bullied for presenting concise and calm opposing views. Not everything that’s differnt from what you think is hateful.

  39. Larissa says:

honestly, I´d like to know what the “so called” christians think about atheists being allowed to get married!
Because if being gay is not a “christian” thing, let alone being an ATHEIST or worse, a satanist!lmao

  40. Paulette says:

    She’s dingbat.
If I’m enjoying a show and find that “dingbat Angie” is in it, that show is off my list, in fact I would dump that TV because it’s now contaminated with dingbats.
Didn’t you notice that after she left LAO the ratings went up.

  41. czarina says:

@Larissa–why don’t you take a quick poll of the billions of Christians world-wide and you can ask them all individually how they feel about gays, athiests, etc.?
Oh, never mind, it’s much easier to lump millions of people in a group and TELL them what they think…UGH

  42. Tia says:

Strega, get out of the ignaramous dark ages.. your thoughts are sad and pathetic. It is always someone who feels inferior about something in their life ( they could be overweight, miserable or whatever) and they get balls behind a computer screen (wow, how cool) to spew hate in a PATHETIC attempt to make themselves feel better. In college, my professor said people who are uneducated are less capable of being empathetic and understanding and feel the need to spew hateful things.. ENOUGH SAID.. SMH !!
