Johnny Depp has been on tour with his band (eyeroll) the Hollywood Vampires for the past week. They’ve been touring around Europe, and it’s led to some uncomfortable photo-ops. The Daily Mail got their hands on some exclusive photos of Depp surrounded by people in Denmark, at 2 am outside a bar/club – go here to see. He seems to be in the company of a few ladies and more than a few gentlemen. The DM says that a few of those gentlemen are Depp’s bodyguards, or perhaps the band’s bodyguards/roadies (they look more like roadies than bodyguards, in my opinion). I tend to think the Daily Mail has just made up a narrative to go along with the photos, but they do claim to have eyewitnesses, so maybe this is 100% real. Apparently, while Depp was in Denmark, he was boozing it up quite heavily, plus he was getting blackout-flirty with a mystery blonde. Plus he got into some kind of altercation with one of the bodyguards/roadies. So rock n’ roll. So scarfy. So charming. So youthful.
A boozed-up Johnny Depp got into an altercation with one of his own bodyguards — as he cavorted with a mystery blonde in a Denmark bar late Wednesday, according to a report. The 52-year-old actor’s bodyguard was trying to persuade him to return to the Royal Hotel bar about 2:30 a.m., but Depp preferred to continue partying and swigging Champagne at a concert afterparty, the Daily Mail reported. Depp, who is touring Europe with his band The Hollywood Vampires, was celebrating in the wee hours with bandmates and crew members after a gig in the Danish city of Horsens. Depp was intent on “drinking and smoking a lot” with the blonde, witnesses said.
“Johnny was in a party mood, that’s for sure,” an observer said. “His bodyguard had his hand on his shoulder and was trying to get him to go back inside, but Johnny refused to go. More and more fans came up to him and he wanted to talk to all of them and take selfies with them,” the witness said, the paper reported. “And the bodyguard got more and more persistent but Johnny didn’t want to go. … And he definitely drank his fair share of alcohol.”
Photographs show the tattooed Depp — clad in a brown-and-black vest and white shirt — glaring furiously at the bodyguard as he tried to lead him away from several people. Meanwhile, a brunette seems to be trying to calm the volatile actor, putting his arm around her shoulder.
“Johnny was the last one to leave the bar, even after everyone had finished the champagne and gone home, it was Johnny that went back to the bar,” the observer said. “To look at him last night, with his clothes from the show and the mascara and everything, he looked like he was Jack Sparrow one more time.”
The actor was outside the hotel bar with the blonde for a couple of hours, the paper reported.
“They smoked a lot and drank a lot,” another observer said. “Johnny was sitting at a table behind me at the time, before they went outside together. They were outside together for about two hours and looked very animated when they were talking. It looked like she was really leading the conversation, while he was listening to her. And she was smoking a lot the whole time and drinking from the bottle of bubbly. It’s clear they already knew each other. I stood by her when she was at the bar and she asked a woman for a light, and she was bought a white wine by an older man at the bar,” the person said.
This sounds like “obvious story is obvious.” I’m almost positive that Depp is in the throes of addiction, and I’m almost positive that this is Depp bottoming out. Most addiction-experts believe that you’re just supposed to stand back and let the addict hit rock bottom on their own and then, hopefully, they will acknowledge that they need help. But Depp’s downward spiral seems to be less self-harming and more violent-towards-other-people. Don’t get me wrong, he’s self-destructive too. But he’s so cushioned by yes-men and sycophants that I’m more concerned for the people around him who get caught up – physically and emotionally – in his downward spiral. And if Depp is really taking out sh-t on the people who get paid to look after him? Well, maybe Amber Heard will have even more witnesses.

Oh come on. While I totally believe Dep is an addicted mess and needs help, this hardly looks like a drunken altercation. It looks like people standing outside of a club.
If indeed he resisted his bodyguard’s attempts to get him to stay inside, it could mean a) he wanted his fans and b) he wanted to be photographed being wanted by his fans.

I saw this yeasterday on LG and apparently Johnny was drink and partying out his hotel and his bodyguards were trying to get him to come inside which makes sense.
One Johnny being accused of DV when he’s drunk so this is not a good look PR wise and Two if when Johnny gets really drunk he gets abusive, they would not want an altercation to have with one of the fans or out in the open for all to see.

Agreed. I’ve seen this reported elsewhere and Page Six is the only one reporting it as a fight. Witness accounts from people there say that it wasn’t, everyone was just talking.
I know if it wasn’t Johnny Depp or was Johnny Depp 3 weeks ago this would not even merit a story. The story doesn’t look like the captions unless you are very creative, and DM is definitely that. As far as the supposed witnesses go, the only thing 100% sure about this story is there are a lot of people lying or at least dramatically coloring the truth about what they witnessed. He has his “witnesses” she has hers and none seem to want to speak on a judicial record in case they’ll get prosecuted for perjury, although Johnny’s assistant seemed to want to, but again he hasn’t either yet so who knows and supposedly some of her friends, but nothing yet from them either.
Also, to all who think that Depp’s PR is finagling this for his benefit, I think you are nuts and if so they stink. I think Amber’s people are good though. Most women who are abused by very wealthy public men and don’t want to prosecute, as Amber has stated recently, don’t talk in order to hold their leverage of the story, but they took a different tactic when Depp played hardball with the money at the first hearing. They slowly release the pictures, texts, etc, she shows up for the hearing wearing a prim and proper black bland outfit a style she hasn’t worn since she was a child, and she claims she doesn’t want to hurt his career that is why she isn’t prosecuting, newsflash to Amber this is already hurting his career. Doesn’t mean she wasn’t abused, but still it is to look a certain way, some are naive if they don’t see that. I just wish if she was abused she would criminally prosecute him. I understand her reluctance, but if she truly loves him as she said she did, and she must if he abused her even before her marriage she really needs to get him help and letting him get away with a crime isn’t going to help him even if she gets money.

She might not be interested in putting him in jail but rather just wants a divorce and compensation for putting up with him…. These situations are complicated. He may be perfectly nice when sober and that is what she may view as the real guy – the drunk is the one she needs to get away from. I think he was sober for quite a while, wasn’t he? You can love or at least like somebody but not be able to continue living with him.
Thanks. You are so right. There is nothing in these pictures that indicates he was furious or in a fight. On the flip side I have read he is emotionally distraught. I don’t believe that either. His actions prove otherwise. I’m hoping for the truth and it’s difficult to find with everyone putting their own spin out there. If he is truly guilty of what Amber claims then he needs to punished accordingly but let’s all try not to rush to judgement for once and wait until we have all the facts. If that is possible.

Although I believe in Amber 100%, and I think right now Johnny won’t stop until he really hits rock bottom, which is both really sad and scary, because this man has two children, and for their sake, I’m just praying for rehab and not overdose.
But this seems just like gossip fodder. Now that all of this has come to light with him and Amber, any misunderstanding, disagreeement, argument, discussion will suddenly become an ALTERCATION, and possibly a violent one.
I do think he is violent while under the influence, but I don’t agree that everytime he gets upset, he will turn into a raging violent maniac. Specially since you consider that Amber was the only victim to his abuse so far. He is the kind of a**hole who would do his Mr. Hyde routine hidden from the public eye.

I can believe that he’s been violent to other exes. But a good friend of mine was married for 20 odd years and her husband became abusive in the las 6 months to year of their relationship because of an escalating cocaine problem so yes it can happen that way.

Not just the DailyMail, but EVERYWHERE! It’s absolutely repulsive. I chanced a glance at the comments on NYMag and they were mostly angry men discrediting her story. Talking about “Rihanna’s face was beat in, don’t see that here, that picture is ridiculous. Bruises aren’t usually so photogenic.” Just disgusting. The world is a cold, dark place.

You’re all so right. A lot of the comments I’ve seen on DM are sickening. On one hand the Depp apologists say, “She’s a lousy actress who just wanted to sponge off him/trade on his name/use him to get parts….”, yet, on the other hand say, “Those bruises are so fake – she IS an actress, after all…”
I get that he has commitments with his vanity band, but couldn’t he have taken some time off to be with his siblings/family after the death of his mum? I’m not making any judgements about how he chooses or needs to grieve, it just seems odd. Also, has anyone heard when the funeral will take place? I’d completely understand if they’ve decided to keep these details strictly private, especially considering his other big issues. I don’t think this episode was an altercation or whatever. It’s more likely they were outside having a smoke break, since they can’t smoke inside. Apparently, lots of people in the area don’t wind up their partying until 5am He’s a mess, though.
He probably had a prior commitment but he also might feel the need for distraction. He’ll have to grieve sometime, although if she had been sick long enough he may have done “pre-grieving”. I wouldn’t judge him on this. He’s just delaying the inevitable.
My guess is that throwing the iPhone at Amber was the last straw for her (she could have been much more seriously injured) and she decided to move forward on a divorce that had been brewing for a while despite the unfortunate timing and the undeserved flack she’s getting for it. That might also mean his out of control episodes were not frequent enough or possibly not dangerous enough before for her to rush. Things might have changed inside him actually because of his mother’s death. He really needs serious therapy and real rehab, he does not seem at all a happy camper.
@AnnaKist As far as actually canceling the tour, there is too much at stake. It would put the band out of work (which considering they’re all from successful bands they would be fine) but it would also put all the road crew and behind-the-scenes folks out of work as well, so I understand why they didn’t do that. As an aside, when Bon Jovi’s guitarist quit right before a tour started, they immediately hired a replacement guitarist and continued with the tour because it’d be too much non-recoupable money lost.
Theoretically they could have replaced Depp with another guitarist. There are plenty of hired guns/session musicians capable of filling in. The only downside is they may have had to offer refunds in that scenario (false advertising- led to believe that JD would be there when tickets were purchased) but I doubt most fans would choose a refund. As a rock fan, in many ways, Johnny is the smallest draw, musically speaking. Alice Cooper, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots, Matt Sorum of Guns & Roses… all more accomplished than Johnny in the rock world. So I agree with @Jwoolman that Johnny is choosing to be there and wants to be on the road as an escape.
I completely agree. And it’s not just the Daily Vile and its readers who are misogynistic-the vast majority of articles are pro Depp. It is so depressing-another rich, powerful man is not only being protected but enabled. And why? It seems the bottom line is money.
Yeah I don’t think he actually got into an altercation, but it’s still so boneheaded and irresponsible for him to be partying it up in plain view. I’m sure he/whoever his brain is at this point think this is coming off as “John is so innocent that he’s still living his life with no interruptions, look how chill he is.” But in reality it comes off as callous and stupid.

Charlie Sheen has lost, it looks to me, most of his discolored teeth and is HIV positive. Not to mention he is violent and unstable from a life time of drug and alcohol abuse. Except for the HIV, Johnny is much like Charlie Sheen.
And like Charlie with Denise, Depp was sober initially with Amber, wasn’t he? Maybe not with Brooke, she already was a druggy when she and Charlie met. But I think Denise remembers the sober guy she married and so it took a change in him to get her to move for a divorce and she has tried to maintain a decent relationship with him for her children’s sake. Maybe no longer, of course. But Amber might have taken the same path- married a sober, in-control guy who started losing it along with his sobriety.
@ jwoolman – Yep, they both got their guys right on the brink – got them in their final moments of relative hotness before they fell in to the pit. Poor Denise has taken a lot of abuse from CS over the years – long after their marriage ended. I hope Amber can make a clean break. At least she’s not tied to Johnny with children.
My sister has been a violent raging alcoholic for over 30 years and she’s still alive and kicking (literally). I don’t see this as near death for Johnny. I do see it as career death for him though. I was just reading that the reasoning behind the lies about his injured hand wasn’t just to hide his volatility. It was also to protect him in regards to insurance for future acting projects. Now that the cat is out of the bag, nobody is going to want to pay for insurance for him for their movies because the fees will sky-rocket now due to his unpredictability (just like Lilo), so he’s probably going to have few to no offers from here on out.
My guess is, he’ll ramp it up more with his “music” because he’ll only be able to rely on his band for income. Hope he saved up some of that dough from past projects. I don’t see any more big movies coming his way, no more franchises, no more star of the show. He’ll be reduced to small Indie projects. He may be able to bounce back eventually if he goes to rehab and stays clean, but unfortunately, that’s a rarity in Hollywood. Honestly, RDJ and Drew Barrymore are the only ones who stayed clean and really got their sh!t together.

Sadly I have the same feeling. And I genuinely worry for all the people who are out there trying to “defend” him because I don’t know if their mental health is going to take this. All celebs have fandoms but most love them and accept them for the person they are. Johnny just seems to be come sort of blank screen that lovesick women project their own romantic fantasies on. If/when something terrible happens to him we then have to worry that these women will break down entirely.
I see Johnny holing himself up somewhere and drinking/drugging himself to death, a la Leaving Las Vegas. There’s really nowhere else for him to go but down. He just doesn’t seem the type to get his sh!t together and go into rehab.
hollywood vampires has one more tour date in europe on june 6th. after that they are scheduled for concerts almost every day from the 1st to the 25th of july in the united states.

Yes I absolutely agree, being surrounded by yes-men and enablers seems to make it nearly impossible. Addiction is so terrible but ”regular folk” perhaps hit rock-bottom more swiftly (can’t look after themselves, lose job, no income, isolate everyone around them, criminal offenses etc). If you’re buffered from all of that ”reality”, I wonder what it actually takes to hit rock bottom? He has both the ideal conditions imaginable for recovery (wealth, support, time, the best legal/therapeutic teams) but yet if he never truly feels the repercussions of his addictions/behavior then I can’t see this ending well either. It’s a sad situation and brave of Amber to speak up – it seems it has been her Versus Team Depp for a long time, and that there were more than 2 people in that relationship! That’s a lot of pressure on her and I hope she has a really good support team herself.
(PS I should also add, not all addicts are abusive either so his abusiveness of others does not seem to be of any concern to him & hasn’t shocked him into recovery either. Poor Amber, and any others in his path!

Yep! Two of the band members (Robert DeLeo & Matt Sorum) used to tour with Scott Weiland (once arrested for DV but charges dropped) & Matt also toured with Axl Rose (DV towards Stephanie Seymour & Erin Everly), so this sort of stuff is sadly nothing new to them.
Really, I don’t think this guy cares about anything except the fake rock star trip that he is on. Seems he always wanted to do this and now he is in this so called “supergroup” pretending that he is Keith Richards. He is turning into a joke

He’s not fighting, he’s just talking. Maybe they were arguing, maybe they were caught in a moment when the crowd was loud and they had to yell. But the photos don’t show any kind of altercation, and everyone else looks comfortable and relaxed.

I see JD’s face differently since the Amber revelations. That tiny, tightly compressed mouth = anger. And it’s also in his fixed stare and scowling eyebrows. He frequently makes angry expressions. (Not that anger per se is bad. It’s all about what you do with it.)
Although in these pics, he looks vacant and sickly. It’s the grey skin, terrible teeth, and eyes that don’t focus. Isn’t Shane MacGowan one of his friends/heroes? Well congrats, Johnny, you can wind up toothless and prematurely aged too. What a waste.

The more these stories come out the harder it’s going to be for Depp PR to cover it up. Colette above post that “Shady Music Facts claim Depp’s people demanded they remove pro Amber posts a few days ago.Now their Twitter account has been suspended.” Isn’t that a coincidence.

mmm – I read the article. I love that journalist for putting it out there. Judge is obviously more than a security guy. He is Johnny’s handler and mop up guy. I think he was out to see if Amber was the informant and to get something to use against her. Or, to find out who dares not love Johnny Depp and keep all his secrets. Very creepy.

I’ve been a Johnny fan my whole life, but this is….this is bad. This is not a good look.
The mystery blonde is a Danish make up artist. Not famous in any way (although it took her less than 24 hours to get chatty with the Danish tabloids). The way she presented the night to the Danish papers, she went out for a beer with friends after work, randomly ran into Depp, asked him for a cigaret, had a beer and a chat with him, flirted a little bit and that’s it. Hardly a story. (I’m Danish and there were no reports of fights whatsoever – just of Depp being wasted).
If Johnny were smart he would have paid her off before this came out because he is a nightmare to live with and she diserves what is due to her according to CA law. And it would have all gone away. But since he is stupid and listened to his lawyers who want to resolve this as slowly as possible rather than as soon as possible, because they would accumilate more invoices and money that way – he refused her offer and it all came out. Now the stress of a legal case, what does he need it for? He has all the money in the world and instead of going on with his life he is listening to his greedy lawyers. Pay her and move on! In fact, pay her DOUBLE what she is asking for and it will all go away. Life is short!
