Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley are expecting their third child! Katherine and Josh have two daughters already, Naleigh Moon (who is already 7 years old!) and Adelaide Marie Hope (who is 4). Both girls are adopted, so this will be Heigl and Kelly’s first biological child and this is Katherine’s first pregnancy. Congrats!

Katherine Heigl is pregnant! The actress and her husband of eight years, musician Josh Kelley, are expecting their third child — a boy! — in January, the couple confirm to PEOPLE exclusively. Their son will join big sisters Adelaide Marie Hope, 4, and Naleigh Moon, 7.

“The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family,” the couple tells PEOPLE in a statement. “Naleigh and Adelaide could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude.”

“This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation, and hormones. Well, only I’m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them,” Heigl jokes. “We couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally share this news with our fans and are looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you all. xoxo, Katie and Josh.”

I feel mean, because my first reaction to this news was “well, she doesn’t have anything else going on.” As in, this pregnancy won’t affect her career at all because Heigl is barely working, although I checked her IMDB and she’s giving television another try? Huh. How will she find the time for a TV show in between filming kitty litter commercials though?!? Heigl did try to do an apology tour a few months back, but she couldn’t even say the appropriate words to make herself likeable. Maybe pregnancy/more babies will help out her image.

I liked her blog. I think she’s been humbled and has refocused.

    • Tiffany says:

I do too. She is brass, yes but there are actors out there beating the crap out of people and there is no dent in their career. Humility was gained but she really got a bum deal.

    • Jane.fr says:

      I like her.

      • Sabrine says:

I like her. She does a lot for animal welfare. Now, if she would just tell her mother to stay home and not bother coming to the set to hold court, then the people she works with would like her even more.

    • Samtha says:

I have a soft spot for her because of all the animal rescue work she’s done over the years.

And I can’t help but think if she were a man, she wouldn’t get half the hate she does, and she’d probably still have a decent career.

      • Bridget says:

See, this is what drives me crazy. No, a man would not have a decent career. Hollywood will put up with ANYTHING as long as a movie/TV show continues to make money, but bad behavior comes home to roost. Look at Alex Pettyfer – completely obnoxious, and managed to burn just about every bridge. Heigl was so famously unpleasant to deal with that they couldn’t get a leading actor to star opposite her a second time. When you are unpleasant to work with, people don’t want to work with you whether you’re a man or a woman.

      • Samtha says:

I just don’t agree. Hollywood is full of examples of men who are horrible to work with and who don’t get blackballed the way Heigl did. Bruce Willis, Shia LaBeouf, Charlie Sheen (yeah, he got axed from Two and Half Men, but then FX was pretty darn quick to give him a show right after), Alec Baldwin… The list goes on and on.

I have a hard time reconciling these two things:
    1. I really dislike Katherine Heigl
    2. I really like Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses and Knocked Up

How can both things be true?

    • claire says:

It’s rough. I love her in those movies. I honestly thought she was on the Meg Ryan / Queen of rom-com path before everything went downhill.

I just watched 27 Dresses yet again the other night and it made me sad how all this turned out.

    • pinetree13 says:

I find her very like-able in movies too. Also as someone said above, there’s been wife-beaters, abusers and criminals that hollywood easily forgives but a woman being difficult trying to start over? NEVER! Black list forever!

    • Christin says:

I like her in movies (first saw KH in a cable TV family type movie years ago). Keeping her mother at bay might help her have a chance. It’s possible they feed off each other, difficult behavior wise.

    • Ange says:

Really? She annoyed the crap out of me in Knocked Up.

    • KateS says:

I still like her in My Father the Hero (even though her character is awful to her father).

  3. mytake says:

Is his fly open in that top pic?

  4. QQ says:

Well. Motherhood is the great Hollywood Whitewash, and she’s pretty, She’ll be Ok

  5. Cynthia says:

So sad, how she got a bad reputation so bad. It just spread like wildfire and she has not been able to come back. She just needs the right role in an ensemble.

  6. OTHER RENEE says:

She works for animal rights, adopts kids (one had a serious medical issue that she knew about and adopted her anyway). I have always liked her. Yeah she’s got a big mouth but so what? I believe her biggest problem isn’t her mouth; it’s her mother. Ditch mom as manager and all will be well.

  7. lucy2 says:

Congrats to them! While she seems very difficult to work with, she does seem like a good mom.
Maybe she could convince her mother to focus on child care and hire a proper manager/agent to get her career back on track.

  8. Christin says:

I cannot make fun of her for kitty litter ads. The company is donating to her family’s animal charity, which I checked out via tax forms on a charity checker site. No wastefulness detected.

Then I actually tried the brand, and it works better than more expensive ones we’ve used. No joke. She actually raised her profile in my book for doing those ads for a good cause.

  9. JenniferJustice says:

She’s still so unlikeable to me. I heard some of her “apology” tour where she never actually apologized for anythiing, but made excuses and beat around the bush. She’s still very arrogant – thinks she’s way smarter than she actually is. I blame her mother for that. I also have a feeling, pregnancy isn’t going to do her body any favors. Maybe it’s time to focus on family and stop tryinig to be in an industry that doesn’t want her and where the people that pay to see movies don’t want her.

That white teddy thing under her suit jacket is stupid.

    • Starkiller says:

Firstly, the remark about her body was gross and uncalled for.

Secondly, just because a person is a jerk in one or more aspects of their personal life doesn’t mean they can’t be a great parent and devoted to their family. I know plenty of arrogant people who are also very family-focused.

      • JenniferJustice says:

I never said she wouldn’t be a good parent. In fact, I said she would do well to focus on family and stop trying to succeed in an industry that she obviously can’t succeed in. I think you misread my comment.

As for the pregnancy body comment, I’m not saying every woman will lose her body after having children. Some woman actually look better after having children. I’m saying, this particular woman is extremely self-centered and vain. I suspect SHE will not be happy with her body post pregnancy and she’s not a nice person anyway – not that the public will judge her body. She’s not known for being a hotty, but she thinks she is a hotty, so….

      • Sunshine Gold says:

@JenniferJustice – Hmmm nothing about the first pregnancy body comment implies anything like what you explained. It’s just straight out mean.

    • LisaMarie says:

Just had first baby myself. Your comment is insulting to ALL women.

  10. Rocío says:

Congrats!!! A baby is always a blessing.

  11. LAB says:

I feel the timeline is a bit off? Which may mean gender selection IVF?

    • Gully says:

You can get blood tests done where they can determine the gender (among other more important things), it’s done between 10-14 weeks – I’m pregnant and over 35 and just had it done for my pregnancy due in early January. For most people it is covered by insurance if you’re advanced maternal age aka over 35 (insert mega eye roll).

      • KateS says:

For what it’s worth, I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and my Dr. told me that he’s 90% sure I’m having a boy based on the ultrasound alone. Something about the “angle of the dangle”?

  12. Minime says:

Works for me. I like her! I like her acting (Roosevelt anyone?) and i don’t find her to be in our faces all the time…so she pissed off some people in the show biz… The same that is full of full working rapists and pedophiles…I will risk it and say that the way she was/is treated is a tiny bit over the top. Cool that she is getting a new member in her family. She and her husband seem to be pretty decent human beings.

  13. Barbara says:

I have never understood the dislike towards her and Ann Hathaway on social media.

  14. Akboat says:

I saw her on Kelly and Michael during her “apology tour” and I thought she came off really well. She seemed humble and friendly. I hope things go well for her.

  15. Bridget says:

Once again I ask: is so hard to just be nice? Heigl is a prime example of the saying ‘be careful of how you treat people on your way up, because you’ll be seeing them on your way back down’

  16. nicegirl says:

    Congratulations!! I love babies.

  17. Angry Cookie says:

Cbs passed on Sarah Shahi’s Nancy Drew to greenlight Katherine’s show, and now that she’s pregnant, it’s going to be hell for the crew to work around that. I bet tptb are regretting their decision. #toofemale.
