Prince Harry eliminated dairy but not alcohol from his new diet/fitness routine

Much like his spirit animal Bridget Jones, Prince Harry has had some noticeable weight fluctuations over the years. Nothing crazy, really, but you can always tell when Harry has been partying too hard, because he gains weight on his face. But for a while now, it seems like Harry has been keeping himself pretty lean and healthy. According to the Daily Mail’s gossip girl, that’s because Harry has been getting his life/body in order with a new diet and a new fitness routine. But of course he’s still partying. What he’s missing in dairy, he’s making up for in tequila shots.

Prince Harry has gone on a dairy-free diet in his pursuit of the perfect body, I can reveal. But while the Prince will happily avoid adding a splash of full-fat milk to his morning cuppa, I’m afraid he shows far less dedication when presented with a row of shot glasses and the chance to party with 12 women.

Fun-loving Harry, 31, joined Jemima Khan and a group of her pals at a ‘celebration of life’ bash at trendy Notting Hill restaurant, Casa Cruz, on Wednesday. Harry went to the exclusive venue for dinner on its roof terrace with two friends, but after they left he wandered over to Jemima’s table for rounds of shots. The women, who were thrilled to have the handsome Prince in their midst, were wearing matching grey T-shirts with the name of the actress Martha Plimpton on them. Although he may well have been nursing a sore head the following morning, I’m told that Harry would soon have got back to his healthy living routine.

Sources say he rarely misses a day of working out in the gym – he is a frequent visitor to the Third Space in Soho, and also drops in to the trendy Core Collective, run by his high-society pal Jason de Savary, for some high intensity interval training. Harry has always had a trim physique but has been consulting a nutritionist for several weeks.

But as he now tucks into dairy-free alternatives, I wonder what his father thinks of it – after all, Charles is a dairy farmer and the brains behind the popular Duchy Originals food brand.

[From The Daily Mail]

Even when I was younger, I wasn’t much of a dairy person. These days, I eat ice cream a few times a month but that’s about it. What I’m saying is that I can’t really speak to eliminating dairy as a diet choice because my diet has always been very light on dairy anyway. I’ve actually always suspected that I have a lactose sensitivity, which seems pretty common these days especially with people of Asian descent (like me). I can speak to eliminating alcohol as a diet choice though – I stopped drinking several years back and I lost weight and felt better in general. It sounds like Harry is mostly sticking to a good diet and fitness routine, but he’s giving himself some cheat days where he has a few drinks or gorges on pasta or whatever.

He is British god d**n it. What is life without the odd beer, fish and chips and the occasional full English?

I looked it up on social media. Harry was at Casa Cruz on the same night as Jemima Khan and her friends (they were celebrating a birthday), but he was there with his friend Nacho Figueras. There is not a single tweet or picture of Harry staying longer. I’m calling BS. They saw that they both were at a place at the same time and just went with it. Only cutting dairy would have been a non story.

I just … why are we informed about his diet and excercise routine??? He is not Kate Hudson! This is such a weird article, even for the DM.

    • Michelleb says:

It is a weird article. Have they ever done this type of article with another royal? I suppose it is the Bridget Jones syndrome, but the press surrounding Harry is really weird most of the time (excepting for press about his charitable activities). His tabloid treatment more resembles their traditional treatment of female celebrities.

      • ClaireB says:

He’s not fitting into any of the DM’s narrative’s right now. He’s not the Party Prince, getting drunk and dancing with cheap blondes every night. He’s not the Action Prince, serving in the Army and flying helicopters. He’s not the Dating Prince, so they can’t speculate on how serious his relationship is. And he’s not allowed to be the Good Works Prince, the Second Coming of Diana, because that would make Workshy Will look bad.

So I guess they’re falling back into their comfort-zone with royals, even if it’s from the wrong gender playbook. Speculate about their weight, diet, and exercise.

Prince Harry can do as he pleases. He will also be the handsome prince with a good heart. He’s so lovable.

  5. Crumpet says:

Losing weight is the result of ingesting fewer calories than you burn, and has nothing to do with food elimination diets unless you have a particular sensitivity or ethical concern. I am lactose intolerant, though I make sure and eat a nice greek yogurt every day and take my calcium supplements.

“Celebration of life?” Martha Plimpton t shirts? Did she die?

    • bluhare says:

      I wondered that too!!

    • Jacqueline says:

Celebration of life, I guess it’s what we call birthdays now? 🙄 But I am dying to know (or at least extremely curious about) the significance of Martha Plimpton!!

I will always have a soft spot or Harry. If only his Mum is still alive, he would not have to buy fast food for dinner.

  8. Snazzy says:

I don’t eat much dairy either, never have. Just can’t stomach it. It’s not an allergy per se, more like what Kaiser described above. Except ice cream in the summer, and even that’s pretty rare. And chocolate, because as everyone knows, chocolate is a vegetable, so I am actually an extremely healthy person ☺️

  9. Pants says:

I could give up alcohol forever, but if you think you’re taking my cheese away from me, you’ve got another thing coming.

    • Psu Doh Nihm says:

Mais, yes! And potatoes…potatoes of any type.

But alcohol? If I never had another drop in my life, I wouldn’t pine for it once.

he’s so lovable and looks gorgeous in that suit and beard.

  11. Cricket says:

Wait! How can Harry be dairy free when just last week – a stalker told us via the DM that Harry purchased Corn Flakes and unripened bananas! Is he having his cereal without milk? Or is he using almond/soy/coconut milk as an alternative? Inquiring minds want to know and I feel the DM clearly isn’t stalking him enough to give us the pertinent details!

    HONK for Harry!! 🙂

  12. Right says:

Love my prince chubby and comfy, he can eat and drink whatever he wants, I’ll take him anytime 😀

  13. Cee says:

I love diary. I either drink milk or yogurt every day, and my breakfast consists of toast with cheese and jam. I don’t much care for ice cream but if you take my cheese and yogurt away I just drop the diet.

Carbs are easier to eliminate, at least to me.

  14. TeamAwesome says:

    Honk!
I love vanilla almond milk or coconut almond mix in cereal.

I think this just brings into full focus how ridiculous it is to “report” on anyone’s dietary choices. Women have to deal with this all the time, some making a cottage industry out of it (side eye to GOOP). It is just silly.

  15. Vinot says:

Good for him, honks all around. Also I really want a grey sweatshirt that says “Martha Plimpton” on it.

  16. Egla says:

First I LOVE diary. Yogurt, milk, cheese, butter, and all the other things that derive from milk. I can give up almost everything but the rest that I eat I do it with a piece of goat cheese on the side.
Secondly I have very close friends and even they don’t know everything I eat , or I about them. In fact I only recently found out that a friend of mine for 10 years wasn’t eating bread for a while because she was on a diet despite the fact of buying it every day with me (for her mother a guess). So how come they have so detailed information about a very protected person. Unless someone very close is talking and I doubt that.

  17. Rae says:

    Honking for Harry!

  18. Misswilso says:

Let me just add a piece of interesting gossip to this article, Jemima Khan was married to a man in the 90s who Princess Diana had an affair with so its crazy that Harry is now hanging out with her haha. I think his name was Imran Khan maybe?
