Mischa Barton is full of herself; promoting her spring headband line

I have no problem with Mischa Barton in concept. She’s a mediocre to terrible actress who gets a lot of flak for her weight and thinks she’s a fashionista. And here is where I start disliking her – she just takes herself so seriously. In an interview with People, she promotes the Spring 2009 line of her headbands and explains that her style is so eclectic because she’s traveled so much the past year. You can almost see her agent writing these sound bytes for her.

Style icon Mischa Barton might be known for seamlessly shifting from retro-cool street style and red carpet elegance, but regardless of where she’s headed, Mischa tells PEOPLE.com, “Accessorizing is oddly my favorite part of dressing up.” It comes as no surprise then that the actress has been having fun developing her headband collection with designer Stacey Lapidus. Mischa says that she found inspiration for the hair accessories, which range from $50 to $200, in her jet set lifestyle.

“I’ve been working in the likes of India, Milan, Paris, London, Montreal, L.A, and NYC,” she explains. “My style has been somewhat boho chic, which I think is a result of having traveled so extensively throughout the course of the past year.” And she’s about to get even busier! In addition to her headband line and a collection of handbags, Barton is waiting to hear whether her pilot for the CW, A Beautiful Life, will get picked up for a series this fall. “It was a blast to film and though I’ve only seen bits and pieces [of it], I’m proud of the show and hopeful that I’ll get to shoot some more,” she says. “Since I have an obvious passion for fashion, it was also incredible for me to be offered a role that’s immersed in the industry.”

You can check out the headbands here, and I have to say that I am not at all impressed. Some of them you could put together yourself with $10, a hot glue gun, and a trip to a craft store. The beaded ones you could probably find at a quarter of the price at Claire’s or, if you’re feeling really adventurous, a craft show or farmer’s market. It probably doesn’t help that I really don’t understand the headbands that are meant to be worn down on the forehead. To me, they just look a little dumb.

I’m not sure what’s so fashion-forward about $150 fake flowered headbands, but whatever floats your boat, Mischa.

Here’s Mischa and her “style” in London on April 23rd and 24th. Images thanks to WENN.com .

I really don’t get her sense of ‘style’, it’s like she goes out of her way to look fug all the time while she clearly has spent lots of money to look like that. She is not the prettiest girl but she is not the ugliest either but she would look much better and taken more seriously if she dressed more young and sophisticated with cloths that would complement her body type.

I went shoe shopping the other day and saw a pair of flip flops with rhinestones and the price was $50. I laughed. good luck to Misha if in this economy she can sell $100 headbands. I see porn in her future

Some are pretty-but i would not spend that amount for those. I don’t own any piece of clothing or jewelry (except those handed down form my Grandmothers, and Mom) that are that expensive.

I sincerely hope she lands flat on her ass…

That being said, I have put her on the same level as the Goop. They both just rub me the wrong way-from their looks (though Goop has better fashion sense), to their “Holier then thou” attitudes.

You cannot improvise yourself a stylist. It’s a serious job, with serious education and training. And you are not a born genius at it.

Well I actually like the dress she has on in the pictures. But I have a thing for peacock feathers.
It would look better on me, since I don’t have a methface and I know how to wear a bra.
    Those headbands are ugly.

Jeez! Who would pay that?! I mean, I know people will buy them. These people must be exceedingly stupid. They look cheap. So does a lot of horrendously expensive stuff…

The stupidest picture I’ve ever seen of Paris Hilton was one where she was wearing a headband.

They just glued some silk flowers on a plastic headband . Total cost: $ 4.50 . You wanna do it yourself? Go to any craft store and spend less than $ 5.00 for the look.

That dress makes her look flat chested and what awful postures, it looks as if they picked the worst looking pictures of her on purpose.

Remember when Brandon Davis and Mischa were still together? When he sold enough coke and leeched enough off his family to bankroll her extravagant wardrobe and garner her attention as the next big fashion icon? Seems so far away now.

My friend’s niece, who is 8 years old, ALSO has a line of handmade bracelets and headbands, which she will give you for free if she likes you – or if you just look sideways at her. Wait till I tell her Mischa Barton has ripped off her creations.
