Source: Lindsay Lohan takes Adderall ‘all the time’

Shocking no one, US Weekly now has an unnamed source who claims that Lindsay Lohan takes Adderall “all the time”, and that the drug makes her jittery and increase her weight loss. Lindsay allegedly started taking the drug as a treatment for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. I’ve never heard that Lindsay has AD/HD, but that diagnosis makes a lot of sense, especially reflecting back on when she went off the rails. AD/HD isn’t a cure-all explanation for her activities, but it does explain why should be more susceptible to certain bad habits. If my research is correct, Adderall isn’t the kind of drug you’re supposed to take “all the time” – there is a recommended, doctor-approved dosage level, and at this point, Lindsay seems to be taking it for the side effects.

This report comes as Lindsay is starting to defend herself from a new wave of criticism that she’s much too thin. She told E! Online that she’s eating enough, but is Lindsay even a trustworthy source about herself at this point?

After debuting a startlingly skinny figure in Hawaii last week, Lindsay Lohan defends herself against critics who feel she’s recently gotten too thin.

“I’ve been eating enough,” Lohan tells E! Online.

The star — who went through a very public breakup with DJ Samantha Ronson, 31, in April — also says that she used her time in Hawaii to relax with her family and get healthy after what was “a hard month.”

“We’re a tight family,” she says. “We’ve been through a lot so we take care of each other… We went hiking and everything in Maui, so it was really good.”

Still, a source told Us Weekly that the 5’5″ actress showcased a skin-and-bones physique while on the island, adding that “I’ve never seen hipbones that stick out so much.”

In fact, Us Weekly confirms in the current issue that Lohan takes Adderall, a prescription drug usually given to people for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, to lose weight.

“She takes Adderall all the time,” one source told Us. “She gets jittery because of the way the pills affect her. It’s a major reason why she’s losing weight.”

Instead of focusing on her frame, however, the actress reveals that she is close to signing on the a new film. Although she says she wants to keep the details of the movie deal confidential, she acknowledges that “it has a really good cast.”

Besides movies, she’s trying to relaunch her music career.

“Pharell, please call me back,” she shouts out to the music producer, who she’s hoping will agree to go back in the recording studio with her.

Any words for her ex, Ronson?

“We’re friends,” Lohan says, adding that the two are still “in touch.”

So she thinks she’s about to sign on to a new movie, and she’s begging music producers to call her to re-launch her music career. Sounds… delusional. The only movie she might be signing on for soon would be something pornographic. That’s not a punch line, either, I really think that’s the path Lindsay’s heading for.

She doesn’t look passed out. If she were “passed out” from a drug, she would be relaxed and wouldn’t hold up her arm and smile. Stop picking on this poor girl. She is playing the paps — giving you a posed “passed out” photo so you keep her relevant.

  2. SixxKitty says:

I hope she doesn’t end up in porn… Imagine the film/role LiLo would be given. Its sad really, she could have done so much with what she was given, maybe it was too much too fast.
    Wonder where that leaves Ali?

  3. vale says:

I’m curious to know whether Pharrell was close by or she just hollered at him through the interview.

  4. Margaux says:

She doesn’t have ADHD – she uses it to lose weight.

  5. bros says:

yah aderall is one of those readily available drugs all over the place. adhd is overdiagnosed, everyone at college ‘has’ adhd and they sell their pills to people who want to stay up all night writing a paper or studying. its incredibly common, and its also a known tool to drop a bunch of weight fast because its a super stimulant.

  6. kiki says:

    side effects of adderall
    loss of appetitie, anorexia
    dry mouth
    difficulty sleeping
    headaches
stomach pains ( watch the intro to the movie Trainspotting to see what drug addicts go thru )
    dizzness
increased UTI, urinary tract infections also loss of sexual drive/interest

  7. BlueSkies says:

Adderall is a rich, white kid drug.

The things you can do on it are amazing.
    Gumption to do everything.
Hey, it’s better than taking Meth, right?

  8. Bodhi says:

    Well, its essentially legal meth…

  9. nony says:

so sad. she does not have ADD, if she did, it wouldn’t give her that jittery effect.
All these bitches in Hollywood with “ADD”, aka “don’t want to be a fatass” just kill me.
As a female who has always suffered from, but not actually diagnosed with ADD until my mid-twenties, and chooses to receive cognitive therapy instead of take pills, these people piss me off.
It’s hard enough to validate ADD as it is, once you see the “sugar-fueled video-gamer kids” which of course– mom and dad just can’t figure out why Johnny can’t concentrate in class– then add these head-case junkies that HAVE to look like they just left the nearest concentration camp, and well, you really can’t blame the nay sayers.

Even if she does suffer from ADD/ADHD, she has a much bigger problem called substance abuse– me thinks a doctor should probably take that into consideration before prescribing.

She sounds so pathetic begging people to call her back. I feel sorry for her.

Totally agree. AND I’ve been down the cognitive therapy route (not ADD) & even though it’s harder than popping a pill (something I ALSO did for a time) it’s worth it, so continued success to you 🙂

  12. DD says:

never took adderrall, but i take ritalin, another add stimulant. I never lost weight on it, and I definitely don’t feel jittery and I can’t stay up all night. I get jittery and sleepless when I don’t take it.

  13. C-DUB says:

    Don’t call her back Pharell!

  14. cherryblossom says:

Alright, from what my psych classes taught me…adderall is not supposed to make someone with add/adhd jittery. It’s supposed to make them calm. But if you happen to not have add/adhd….well it’s like coke.
It’s really not that surpising to me that she’s on it. She was arrested with it in her purse a couple times, wasn’t she?

  15. michelle says:

Man I am in college and never get the crap done I need to, I guess I know how to solve that problem, jsut ask the kids around campus for a dose! I am only half kidding too.

  16. mollination says:

Bodhi knows what’s up as usual. It’s full name is dextroamphetamine, the same “amphetamine” as in methAMPHETAMINE. It’s just like oxy’s and percs are synthetic heroin. If LL really had ADD or AD/HD the adderall wouldn’t make her crazy, it would chill her out. I used to take that crap back in highschool and I ran 7 miles on a treadmill. My heart almost fell out of my chest. Not to mention you can drink forever without feeling too drunk or ever passing out. It’s not good news.

  17. Ophelia says:

Why is there a $cientology advert by the header pic? Am I the only one seeing it?

  18. YoMomma says:

I’m so relieved to hear it isn’t Meth.

  19. Ggirl says:

What ever stimulant she is taking (and probably abusing)she is in for a hard, hard fall when the time comes for whatever reason, that she has to discontinue it. There may come a day when she can’t afford the drugs she is taking. Whatever she is doing she still isn’t acting normally and I still say that she has that cold over stimulated look in her eyes. Not good. Her crash is going to be frightful and I feel for sorry for her when that day comes. I had an ex boyfriend who crashed and it wasn’t a pretty sight.

  20. Jacks says:

This girl is a bigger train wreck waiting to happen than Britney was. At least Britney has a family that gives a shit about her… Lindsay certainly does not and that’s going to make a huge difference. It’s very sad to watch someone just completely destroy their body (and life) the way she’s doing. Oh, and as a snotty aside, perhaps the “really good cast” includes Natalie Portman?!?! :)~

  21. Annabelle says:

Prescription drugs are just as bad as street drugs, when abused. drugs are drugs and most of them are not good for your liver. Clearly she is abusing something…

Maybe she is doing a movie – she said a while ago that she was working on her fake tanner for sephora & nobody believed that, but she has come out with it.. so who knows what to believe.

  22. Anoneemouse says:

Just another attempt at “Look at me! Look at me! Poor me! No one likes me! Everyone talks bad about me! I have no friends! I have no job!

    Another day, another quote…

  23. Valensi says:

I don’t feel sympathy for her anymore. Practically every single tabloid cover is telling her she’s a mental twatwaffle that needs a one-way ticket to rehab and a lifetime’s worth of meals, and she still doesn’t listen.
Let’s just all leave her alone and hope she withers away.

  24. Lucy Lynn says:

kiki of comment #6, I know it’s been a while since you posted but just to set the record straight, the beginning of Trainspotting showed a heroin junkie going through severe physical withdrawals after going cold-turkey. It had nothing to do with adderall or meth. Adderall and street meth are chemical cousins but NOT the same drug. ADHD patients do feel calmer after taking a therapeutic dosage of amphetimines but even they can abuse it. At high doses, it has the same effect on those with ADHD and those without. I hate misinformation and just needed to set the record straight.

  25. erin says:

I was hooked on adderall for over a year and nearly lost my damn mind before I finally gave it up abruptly. This girl is in for a hard fall, which will happen when the drug stops making her stay thin, usually after 9 mos or so of continuous use. I bet she is breaking the pills open and “bumping” herself up constantly. Misuse of Adderall makes you incapable of thinking clearly and communicating normally. It’s unfortunate that celebrities think they are immune to the litany of terrible side effects of Adderall. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this drug off the market in the next few years.

  26. This is good info! Where else can i find out more?? Keep up the good work 🙂
