Jennifer Aniston joked about ‘sex toys’ in front of disabled kids on a chat show

It just occurred to me as I was looking at these photos of Jennifer Aniston… Jennifer and Brad Pitt were both in London at the same time. Jennifer appeared on The One Show yesterday in London, around the same time Brad was walking the red carpet for the London premiere of Allied. I hope the tabloids take note! Star Magazine can devote next week’s issue to Brad and Jennifer’s “secret meeting in London,” where she would have confessed that she was unhappy with Justin Theroux’s jorts and Brad would run out of the room in tears, but only because he realized that he and Jennifer need to get remarried by Christmas. Seriously, I should write copy for Star.

As for Jennifer’s appearance on The One Show… she made a mistake. No, she didn’t drop the word “r-tard” again. Instead, she made a joke about sex toys. IN FRONT OF CHILDREN!

Oops! Jennifer Aniston set social media on fire on Monday, November 21, after she appeared on the UK’s The One Show and mentioned “sex toys” in a studio shared with disabled children. The former Friends star was on the live, early evening program to promote her new movie ‘Office Christmas Party,’ but it was her controversial comment that stole the limelight.

Aniston, 47, was chatting alongside the film’s directors Will Speck and Josh Gordon when she made the blunder. The pair had been asked by hosts, Matt Baker and Alex Jones, if Aniston’s character in her new flick was like Rachel from Friends or her sex obsessed ‘Horrible Bosses’ role. Gordon said she was “a little bit of both” before Aniston interjected with “just without the sex toys.”

The problem was there was a large group of disabled children from The Rickshaw Challenge celebrating the success of BBC charity Children in Need, who were also guests on the show. It was also two hours before the watershed, the point in time after which a show with adult content may be broadcast in the UK. Baker desperately tried to move the questioning along and ignore what she’d said, but it didn’t go unnoticed on Twitter. Viewers were quick to comment with one saying: “JenA kicking it out with ‘sex toys’ comment #oneshow cue: producer sending electrical shock to presenters earpiece.” Another wrote: Jennifer Aniston just mentioned “sex toys” infront of disabled children on the #bbc #oneshow #ChildrenInNeed heavy awkward!”

[From Us Weekly]

I’m not clear on whether Aniston knew there were children in the audience? She might have thought she was on a Graham Norton-esque show, just because we get that here in America and Graham Norton makes us believe that anything goes on British chat shows. It’s the kind of mistake I would have made too, like mentioning “vibrator” or “the good kind of shaft” in front of kids. Besides, just the mention of “sex toys” really isn’t that scandalous. It’s not like she described a depraved sex act in vivid detail!

The host asked if her character was obsessed with sex, and she responded, I don’t see the big deal here? I’ve seen the previews for that movie and it’s not one for children, they probably shouldn’t have been in the audience!

    • JustCrimmles says:

Exactly. Where’s the outrage over the question that started this?

    • BJ says:

The host never mentioned “sex obsessed” or sex,US Weekly used that description. She was asked which character she was most like, the Horrible Bosses character or Friends character. She probably didn’t know kids were there. It probably went over their heads anyway.

    • asd says:

How does the kids being disabled change anything? It’s mentioned everywhere for some reason…

  2. Lilian says:

So it was okay for the host to ask if her character was Sex Obsessed but not okay for her to say Sex Toys? Is one worse then the other?

  3. Grant says:

If the moderator asked her if her character is “obsessed with sex” then they kind of opened the door for her to respond by referencing sex toys.

  4. molly says:

They were there because they cycled round the country for children in need. They cycled with the male host of the programme for which they do every year to raise money. Something they cover everyday for the last couple months. The show is live & goes out at 7pm, not late at night so they had every right to be there.

  5. minx says:

    She needs a makeover.
It’s like she’s frozen in time as Rachel.

    • L84Tea says:

I’d love to see her with darker hair. I agree, she’s still recycling the same look from 15-20 years ago.

      • Nancy says:

That’s the point though. Here she is 20 years later and is still an A-lister no matter how some try to drag her down. She looks healthy and happy to me. She went with dark hair and even if it is her natural color, doesn’t work well on her. I like her…….or maybe it’s Rachel I love, I watch the reruns all the time with my daughter and they’re funnier now than the first run.

  6. Defaultgirl says:

The kiddos shouldn’t been in the audience for this movie. He knew he was going to ask her sex questions about the movie how was she supposed to respond?

  7. molly says:

I saw the programme, the hosts never said sex obsessed. They asked her “if she was more rachel green or from horrible bosses”. She said “little bit of both but without the sex toys.”

  8. Jess1632 says:

People must be bored to turn that statement into something raunchy and gross ew sex

  9. layla says:

The amount of pearl clutching in this article, and the amount of pearl clutching to Aniston’s response, is ridiculous.

A trumped up story and much to do about nothing. I would much rather discuss the 25 million dollar fraud settlement that Trump can now use as a write-off to continue NOT to pay his taxes.

  11. Juliaoc says:

I’m the mother of a special needs child and I don’t see what the issue is here.

I’m far more concerned that our president elect publicly mocks people with disabilities. Jennifer Aniston didn’t do anything wrong, IMO.

  12. molly says:

I don’t see anything wrong with what she said. Kids see more sex from music videos than the word sex toys. My issue is with people saying the kids shouldn’t have been there.

  13. M.A.F. says:

Oh please. She is on a show promoting a movie where I’m sure there is a sex joke or two. It’s a morning chat show (is it like the Today Show or Ellen?), I doubt the kids (let alone some of the adults) even picked up on it.

  14. Sayrah says:

    Everyone clutch your pearls!

  15. Merritt says:

This is really nothing more than hand wringing. Why is it is big deal for kids, disabled or not, to hear the term “sex toy”. It really isn’t.

  16. Adele Dazeem says:

I’ve said it before but I could not handle the immense pressure of trying to have ‘conversations’ on live tv/with reporters and every single word and sentence uttered be ripped apart, analyzed and critiqued. I dare someone on this board to pretend they haven’t let a cuss word slip in front of little kids, a dirty joke accidentally uttered, offended someone unknowingly. Puh lease. I’m certain we ALL do it daily, we are just not famous so it isn’t reported on.

  17. I Choose Me says:

Twitter needs to chill. This warrants zero outrage. I doubt any of the children were traumatized by the words sex toys.

  18. YepIsaidit says:

Lainey gossip predicted that Brad Pitt would want to set up a photo -op with Jennifer. Of course the public would eat it up because they think Brad Pitt is so pure and has no hand in media manipulation while his estranged wife takes all the blame for his actions just because – in their minds he has nothing to do with it…

Brad Pitt is in London looking like he has no care in the world. One would think he was fatherless… Certainly not a father who has only seen his children 3 times and has to have therapeutic visits with them. If the roles were reversed we wouldn’t hear the end of it … Hell, angelina couldn’t even attend the Icc event and her video message was torn to shreds by his crazy media fans.

I think people will soon forget brad Pitt was at one time a father of six kids. He has it very easy. The only thing that will knock him back to earth is if/when his career suffers (not from his personal life ,the world doesn’t care if a man was under investigation for child abuse in fact most of his fans think he should beat up his kids) but from crappy performances.

I believe Angelina was his lucky charm – nominated how many times for Oscars in the time he was with her.

Hopefully now that she’s dumped him that luck will transfer to her and her own movies.

  19. Tanakasan says:

Are disabled children more easily offended than non-disabled children? Or is it that disabled people should never hear about sex because they will never be sexual?

    • paranormalgirl says:

right. I was wondering why the word “disabled” was mentioned at all. Just “children” would have been sufficient. And please, this was nothing. I once said “I have less than zero f@#s to give” in front of a couple of 7 year olds.

  20. Marianne says:

How is that her fault though if the host brought up her “sex obsessed” character in Horrible Bosses? Like, that is setting up a precedent of what you can talk about…
