The claim was that Amber Heard had yet to donate one dime from her $7 million divorce settlement, and she’s a big fat fraud who was only pretending to care about charity or whatever. Except that her lawyers came out quickly and said that Amber hasn’t donated the settlement to charity… because Depp hasn’t coughed up the money yet. Their divorce was still being “finalized,” and while Depp had passive-aggressively donated $200,000 to charity on Amber’s behalf, he has yet to pay the rest of the settlement, either directly to Amber or to charity. A few days later, we learned that Depp was going to pay Amber the remaining $6.8 million in installments over the next year. Well, guess what? Depp is still trying to figure out a way to not pay her.
The divorce settlement between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has fallen apart, leaving the deal hanging by a thread, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal. The $6.8 million settlement was close to being finalized in the last few days but Depp refused to pay the money at the 11th hour. Now, according to bombshell legal documents seen by DailyMail.com, it appears the actor is stalling because he’s furious over public comments his former wife has made about domestic violence in recent weeks.
Depp, who paid an initial $100,000 to two charities, is holding back on paying Heard the millions of dollars she has publicly vowed to donate to good causes. Heard has promised to give the American Civil Liberties Union money for their work to stop violence against women, and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will also receive a share. But Depp’s stonewalling leaves both organizations wanting – effectively penalizing the people they help.
The legal paperwork, obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, reveals that because of the halt Heard’s legal team is hitting back with a formal ‘Request for Order’ to the judge in the case in the hope that it will force Depp’s hand once and for all. In the documents filed with Los Angeles Superior Court, Heard’s lawyers have asked the judge to act against Depp, 53, and enforce the terms of the settlement – known in the legal world as ‘Deal Point Memorandum’. The filing, obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, states that the ‘Request for Order’ arises because: ‘…despite months of efforts and repeated breaches by Respondent (Depp), the parties have been unable to reach agreement on a stipulated from of judgment.’
The document also lays out what Depp has failed to do in the time allowed by the court, which includes:
*Not paying the first two installments of the ‘equalization and legal fees payments’ – known to amount to at least $6.8million.
*Not giving Heard a date and time for a walk through of the couple’s ‘main Sweetzer property’ (a $10million, eight bedroom castle style home in West Hollwood) and ‘storage facilities’ to retrieve her personal property.
*Not transferring the title of a Range Rover.
*Failing to meet with Heard to discuss the division of ‘furniture and furnishings’ in two residential units they once occupied together, Including their downtown apartment.DailyMail.com understands Depp is furious that Heard has seemingly broken the terms of the settlement by speaking publicly about domestic violence – what he sees as a flagrant breach of the confidentiality clause agreed as part of the deal. The legal document, signed by Heard’s lawyers Pierce O’Donnell and Bernard M Resser, confirms this as an issue.

Once the news broke about how he treated Amber (and it could have been any woman, really) he completely lost me. I wonder if he treated Vanessa the same way? Do we know? QUESTIONS for the legals: Why hasn’t the judge ordered him to pay up? Is the divorce finalised? Does it have to be finalised before he needs to pay Amber?
Here in Australia, property settlements can be made before a divorce is final/absolute, if indeed, a divorce is even sought. When the court is satisfied that the agreement has been reached, they usually order that payment be made with 28 days, and that property, furniture etc., also be divided up within that time. Also, for personal effects such as clothing, a time is usually arranged (and approved by the court) where the person leaving the family home has a few hours on a given day to collect their personal items. After that, it’s over, unless the parties come to some private arrangement, which isn’t always possible, since, if it’s come to a court order to collect personal property, it’s usually a very acrimonious split. This is exactly what happened in my sister’s case.
I hope the judge eventually slams him and orders him to pay up. And he should be ordered to pay Amber the lump sum, not siphon the money as he sees fit. It doesn’t matter and it’s not his business what she intends to do with the money. Even if she previously stated it would all go to charity, her circumstances may have changed and that may now not be possible.
What I find puzzling is the amount of people still on his side and calling Amber a liar.

She was arrested in TX at the age of 16 and lost her license for 5 years … that is a more serious sentence than constant drinking and driving. She was arrested in 2009 for DV with Tasha but the feminist down play it. Tasha’s necklace got broken during the altercation so no it was not innocent.

@Scarlett – LA native here, and knowing of several LAPD officers through family and friends, I’m not surprised they “found nothing” and reported nothing. First sign of that was how they scrambled after the whole story about them having shown up, and how their story kept changing. Also, they had FIVE CONDOS in that penthouse floor. The cops could have shown up at any door and it would not have been the one Depp broke shit in. When they showed up, she wasn’t divorcing her husband; she was just trying to minimize the impact of the mess she was finding herself in.

Him donating the money directly to the charities is a control tactic. He doesn’t owe the charities the money – he owes it to her as part of their divorce settlement.
Spending $600k was what THEY spent as a couple as was his lifestyle. If my husband makes so much more money than I do and lives a certain way, we will enjoy that lifestyle together and even if he’s the one spending the money, it is still considered that we spent it because we are married. She worked and followed him all over the world while he was working too because as a couple they had the means to.
And WHY is it her business to know his finances? Um, because as his wife it was her business too, just like it was his to know hers. It’s not like she was trying to peek into his without him having access to the information on hers. It’s how all divorce settlements work. The lawyers and accountants need access to the info to decide how much or how little they have to part with during the settlement, whether certain assets were indeed his before they married and he’s entitled to keep 100% of that. He should have been happy to share that, it’s what helped him keep so much more of his money.
As for meeting with her, let’s not play stupid. He needs to give her permission and access to enter to retrieve her things because it’s no longer shared property, and they (even using third parties) do need to meet to divide shared assets ie furnishings, jewelry, art, etc.

It makes no difference though. IF she broke the NDA, it doesn’t give him permission to break his side of the settlement agreement. Not that I think she’s breached the NDA, but he was the first to overstep the settlement agreement by not giving her the money and instead sending it to the charities. If he wanted to sue her for the breach, he would have done it already. Lawyers slap those lawsuits left and right within a moments notice, so that being a reason that he isn’t paying is BS.
He’s not paying because it’s his way of trying to exercise control over her and showing her he still holds some power over her life. If it was because he wanted to sue, he would have followed through and at least packed up and sent her personal things that she had in their multiple homes, like the Bahamas. Why is he not doing that? Even if she breached the NDA, she is still entitled to her personal possessions. All that would happen is that her settlement amount might get smaller ie she would be fined whatever amount it was agreed upon in the settlement terms.

And he’s not holding up the payments because of the PSA or letter Amber wrote. I think it’s because abuser guys if they’re really good at it know how to keep their exes quiet by baiting them with affectionate tidbits through the years, “I miss you” rhetoric, and wanting to stay ‘friends’. But it’s actually still about control. See they never really go of any relationship, and they want you to think about them so they’ll play friendly and remind you only of the good. It can go on for years. But it’s really about them, their need for control, and checking in on you to make sure their memory is never too far from your mind or to privately seethe and plot revenge if you move on. They could be on ‘friendly’ terms, same with Wino, but in actuality it’s all about him… Just sayin’ Beware the guy that either wants to stay cozy ‘friends’ with all his exes OR claims they’re all jealous and crazy. Either one of those is a big huge red flag ⛳️.

Also, personally, I think she defended him for two huge reasons: they have children together (for which I am sure he is paying child support) and how is she going to let her kids think that she thinks the worst of their father? She wants to get her stuff back – he’s not supposed to be there, he’s supposed to arrange for a member of his staff to let her in. I assume that with the background, at least one lawyer from each side will be there and the whole thing may be videoed so there can be no arguing about what she took.
How you interpret her getting access, possibly (probably preferably on her part) when he’s on another continent to collect her clothes and personal belongings as ‘whining he won’t meet with her’, I have no idea.
She apparently does want a meeting with lawyers to divide furniture etc. but that’s normal. Since it will be done in a lawyer’s office I’m fairly sure she’s physically safe from Depp.
Also, as a previous poster supporting Depp has said, it’s not her house, she can’t get in without his permission. It has been months. You have to wonder why he hasn’t had an employee pack everything up and send it to her. (Hint: because he’s a narcissistic control freak trying to punish her).
Also, I’m not American. Where I live, if a NDA is signed for consideration, i.e. as part of a divorce settlement, I don’t think it takes effect until both parties complete their sides of the bargain – i.e. it doesn’t take effect until Amber gets the money and the divorce is finalised. I figured that’s why she was doing the PDAs – to remind him there is nothing stopping her talking until everything is signed off by the Judge.
Really? Excuse me, but she’s entitled to her belongings. And as it was stated, he was supposed to have her things in the Bahamas sent to her. The WeHo mansion was also listed as one of their shared homes, and it’s where they lived at the beginning of their relationship before they moved into the penthouses. In fact, it’s where her Mustang was stored.
There is a laundry list of things he needed to do on his end that he DEFINITELY hasn’t done. Those things don’t change just because she maybe didn’t follow the NDA. You don’t break a signed agreement just because the other party did. You follow through on your end to prove you are acting in good faith, even if the other party may not be. He’s clearly doing this to exercise whatever little control over her he has left.
I was never a fan of hers, because I don’t know her body of work, but I hope something great happens for her.
