Emperor Baby Fists’ inaugural crowd was the opposite of bigly & he’s so mad

161072PCN_TrumpInaugurationPHT012

Emperor Baby Fists is now officially the 45th president of the United States of America. Perhaps he will be our last president, because I’m sure he’s trying to figure out a way to declare himself Lord Commander of The Wall for life. Ugh, so let’s do this. I’m hoping to knock out a lot of different sh-t in one post so I don’t have to go on and on about it.

Fashion notes: the one nice thing I’ll say about La Familia de Baby Fists and this entire sh-tshow was that I genuinely thought Melania looked nice. Traditionally, Republican wives wear red to inaugural events, but Melania chose an ice-blue Ralph Lauren suit for the inauguration and a white gown by Hervé Pierre for the inaugural balls. Apparently, Melania approached Pierre for the gown, and he says that she already knew exactly what she wanted.

The inaugural speech. Bless anyone who could watch it without breaking their televisions or barfing on someone or something. I did not watch his speech and I’m not going to. I heard that it was petty, angry, dictatorial and rude towards President Obama. What a shock. This also happened:

Cake & Photo Plagiarism. Apparently, Baby Fists’ cake was plagiarized from a cake made for President Obama. Baby Fists also used a photo on Twitter from Obama’s inaugural.

Michelle Obama was all of us. No explanation needed.

The Crowd, Part I. This issue wouldn’t be so f—king funny if Baby Fists didn’t care so much about it. Basically, the Emperor’s inauguration crowd was pathetic. While it’s mean (and funny) to compare the size of the crowd to Obama’s first inauguration – which was the largest event DC had ever seen – it seems like Baby Fists didn’t even get half the crowd/audience. See:

The Crowd, Part 2. BABY FISTS IS SO MAD. He’s so mad that the crooked media is talking about the small size of crowd. He has the most bigly crowd of all!!! Emperor Baby Fists went to the CIA on Saturday and during his speech, he whined about how the media was “lying” about the size of crowd. Again, it wouldn’t be so funny if he didn’t care so much – he actually WHINED TO THE CIA about it. Think about that. For what it’s worth – the Women’s March was probably more than double the size of Baby Fists’ inauguration.

A Nazi got punched in the face. Here’s a palate cleanser: every time a Nazi a–hole gets punched in the face, an angel gets his wings. I’m not saying you should punch every Nazi in the face, but I’m not NOT saying that either. This is footage of Alt-Right douchebag Richard Spencer getting punched in the face on Inauguration Day.

Trump is unhinged. His inaugural address confirmed his world view that everything that came before him was a disaster and everything that he will do will be miraculous and wonderful. I’m not sure what the DSM disagnosis is for that personality disorder, but coupled with his pathological need to be worshiped and adored, he is truly terrifying.

      • my3cents says:

Exactly the stuff dictators are made of. Unhinged ones.

      • Maxime DuCamp says:

Not a psychiatrist but I’d hazard a guess at narcissist? I have no sympathy for the guy but he also (to me) always looks really depressed. Whatever it is, there is definitely something going on with him that it isn’t good.

      • Megan says:

I think it goes way beyond simple narcissism. Trump’s sense reality is completly divorced from the world around him.

      • ArtHistorian says:

Trump strikes as being much the same as Anders Bering Breivik (the Norwegian mass murderer) – not clinically insane but living with a world view that is almost completely divorced from the world around him.

His inability to discern between truth and falsehood is terrifying given the position he now inhabits – as is the fragility of his ego and his poor impulse control. He is embarrasing himself with these antics and it would be funny if it wasn’t for the position of power he now holds. He is a very dangerous man – dangerous for Ameria and dangerous for the world.

Megalomaniac I believe… like a new twisted variation. He scares tf out of me.

      • Jaded says:

I’d say he’s suffering from a combination of NPD and Schizotypal Personality Disorder. Here is a list of symptoms of both:

        NPD
        – Lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
        – Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
        – Has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
        – Is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
        – Is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
        – Requires excessive admiration
        – Shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
        – Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
        – Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

        SPD
        – Being a loner and lacking close friends outside of the immediate circle
        – Incorrect interpretation of events, such as a feeling that something which is actually harmless or inoffensive has a direct personal meaning (uncontrolled tweeting)
        – Peculiar, eccentric or unusual thinking, beliefs or mannerisms
        – Dressing in peculiar ways or eccentric styles (cheeto-dusted, hampster hair)
        – Belief in special powers, such as mental telepathy or psychic abilities
        – Inability to connect with people in social situations
        – Peculiar style of speech, such as vague or unusual patterns of speaking, or rambling oddly during conversations
        – Suspicious or paranoid thoughts and constant doubts about the loyalty of others
        – Flat emotions or limited or inappropriate emotional responses

On Inauguration day, Friday, January 20, 2017; the National Parks had their website/internet/Twitter taken down! The Department of Interior took action after a tweet was shared via the National Park Service account unfavorably comparing the attendance at Trump’s 2017 inauguration to that of Obama’s 2009. Pictures don’t lie but the Trump people do.

This incompetent and harmful action meant visitors/hikers who were visiting or about to visit any National Park in the USA , could not check on road conditions and seek out information on hiking trails or contact the parks should there have been an incident or emergency.

All of this because Obama’s 2009 inauguration crowd was larger than Orange fellow’s 2017 crowd attendance. His crowd bigger than mine. Wahhh!

Folks we are already getting a taste of the incompetence, arrogance, and the meanness without bounds of this incoming abomination.

It is starting already. Sad for our country and the world.

No real therapist would judge him without treating/talking him, and if they treated him wouldn’t talk about it.
So now that we’ve established my non credentials, armchair diagnosis time. I would say he’s not schizoid, that’s actually a little more detached from reality, a type A disorder, like Dali. Close relationships are hard and general behaviours are ‘off’, more so than the Yamchurian Candidate who is technically socially successful.

I’d argue he’s in Cluster B -erratic, dramatic and emotional, including anti social and narcissistic.

Antisocial personality disorder: a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others, lack of empathy, bloated self-image, manipulative and impulsive behavior.

Narcissistic personality disorder: a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy.

I look to Roy Cohn for some understanding of baby fists’ mentality. Cohn was the grinding force behind the Second Red Scare and the Lavender Scare, which was all the more craven because Cohn himself was a closeted gay man who died of AIDS. Can you imagine his self hatred behind his hypocrisy? Years later attorney Cohn was disbarred for his unethical legal practices. He was baby fists’ attorney.

Cohn was also baby fists’ mentor when baby fists was starting in real estate. He taught baby fists the truth means nothing. Integrity means nothing. Baby fists believes that only crushing any and all opposition with lies will get him prestige and power. That’s what Cohn wanted and what baby fists wants.

“Houston we have a problem” – seriously. I would have expected this kind of BS in months not days.

His propaganda machine is out in full force and I think may work if we are not careful.
      – He’s perpetuating that the media is lying to further destabilize their credibility
      – He’s stacking press conferences (his 1st one) and speeches (CIA) with staffers that will clap and cheer at his statements so that “the people” appear to be endorsing his statements … kind of looks effective on video
      – Kellyanne Goebbels has uttered their entire strategy with her morning show appearance today: “Alternative Facts”. F’ing alternative facts!! Here’s an alternative fact, let’s see how you like it: Hillary won and is 45th POTUS.

    • nicole says:

I couldnt beleive what I was seeing when he was speaking at the CIA, he was a complete unhinged idiot, I really dont think he is sane, there is something very wrong with the way he was doing these silly impressions and speaking like he is the third person all the time, it was cringeworthy to have to listen to him, its just unbeleivable. This is the way he is going to act in every situation, and blame the press for lying everytime.

      • Esmom says:

This is how he was at his last press conference, too. And his inaugural address was abhorrent (“This American carnage stops right here.”). He seems to be trying to adapt what worked for him during the campaign and it really is horrifyingly unpresidential.

      • Stella in NH says:

If you read the transcripts, it shows what a hot mess he is. He cannot verbalize a complete sentence. He rivals Palin and her word salads. The man is truly mad!

    • Cel2495 says:

Jajaja! Of course he is freaking out about the crowd comparison pics. He is a self centered asshole. I marched in NYC and it felt good. He is a nightmare.

  2. Sam says:

His inauguration size has gotten to him to the point where the WH speaker, Sean Spicer, lied about it in his first press conference. He said it was the biggest crowd ever seen for a presidential inauguration.

    Hahahahaha WHAT!

    • Esmom says:

I know, crazy. And did you hear that the Interior Dept was banned from tweeting after posting those photos? WTF? I read this morning that their twitter privileges were reinstated after the apologized for “the mistake.” Again, WTF? It would be funny if it didn’t feel so incredibly ominous.

      • Christin says:

His team claims the park service does not track crowd size. The lies are just laughable. It’s not spin — it’s just flat-out lying.

    • nemera34 says:

Even the audience there laughed when he said that. It was embarrassing. And Trump then came back through a “source” and threw his dog under the bus..

“But his appearance, according to the people familiar with Mr. Trump’s thinking, went too far, in the president’s opinion.”

*** Welcome to your life Mr. Spicer.. welcome to your life

      • Megan says:

Yesterday morning, Sean Spicer was respected in DC. This morning, I doubt he can get a job posting press releases to the wires.

      • Chrissy says:

If you choose to use your official appointment as White House Press Secretary (i.e., a servant of the American people) to knowingly tell an easily disprovable lie *and* to threaten the press for accurately reporting the facts that show you’re lying, you are a despicable human being and deserve whatever abuse you receive from the boss you agreed to lie for. If you lie to your entire country and threaten our free press in order to curry favor and have a prestigious job, you have no integrity and also deserve to be shamed by the public you have disrespected.

      • Esmom says:

ME, It’s good to hear that not all conservatives are blindly supporting Trump. I hope more GOPs and conservatives are brave enough to denounce him. Because among the citizens who support him, he’s still doing just fine in their misguided, stubborn view. Sigh.

So maybe we should all be praying for time”

    • Sixer says:

That press conference was AWFUL. And dangerous.

The next time the staffer walks out without answering any questions, the press pack should stage a sit-in until they come back and do so. Not titter and shuffle off. Stage a sit-in until questions are asked and answered.

These accountability sessions are important, whether it’s the WH press conference in the US or PMQs in the UK. Ok, so the ministers or staffers obfuscate and spin when questioned and we all know they do, but they are symbols of democratic accountability. The United States isn’t a dictatorship. It is a mature and stable democratic republic. Representatives of the executive don’t get to come out, harangue the fourth estate and walk off. They get to be interrogated.

Honestly. This is dangerous. Democracies work by consent – of those being governed and those doing the governing. That press conference was indicative of the current executive deciding it doesn’t need consent any more.

      Really, really worrying.

      • Digital Unicorn (aKa Betti) says:

Considering the viewed threats he’s been am,King about he media it’s no surprise this happened. His staffers will be bricking it and the press will be under fire and he WILL try and control them. He will use the CIA to that means. Over pics of crowds FFS.

      • nemera34 says:

He won’t be able to do this for the duration. He is going to have to answer questions. And at some point his nutty supports that have brains are going to see how he avoids answering questions. Especially when the reality of his policies start biting them in the ass. The press is trying to be fair.. but twitter and social media are not. And that is what will drive the discussion. Trump can’t stop reading social media. And he can’t stop reacting to it.
They are trying to make the press the enemy so that his dirty dealing and crooked polices won’t be outed. I hope the news organizations grow a pair an put it to him. Because he will collapse and meltdown when his feet are put to the fire.

      • Sixer says:

It seems to me that this was indicative of his intention going forward.

Conventions mean nothing. Press conferences will be replaced by announcements and denouncements. Because if he defies convention, who is going to stop him?

This is not what a democracy looks like. And the press should either refuse to leave until they’ve been allowed to ask questions and get them answered, or stop going altogether.

      • bluhare says:

Betti was that autocorrect? If so best one of all time!

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

@bluehare – yes. hahaha. I was on my iPad which is my current autocorrect battleground.

      • jetlagged says:

The Washington Press Corps is screwed. Confronting the Cheeto-in Chief and his flying monkeys about their crap will only get them banned from the WH press corps and they can’t cover the administration if they don’t have access. Trump is starting to give press credentials to Breitbart and some of the crazy alt-right leaning “news” sources. It won’t be long before they are the ones in the front row at press conferences and the only ones that get called on for questions, if questions are even allowed.

      • Megan says:

I’m sure the March helped put Trump over the edge. The overflow crowd on the mall was bigger than the turnout for the inauguration. It must have been so humiliating for him to be upstaged by a sea of women wearing pink pussy hats.

We were watching the news last night to see coverage of the marches and CNN and MSNBC took Trump to task for lying, for being disrespectful during his CIA visit, and for being so petty as to make his first day in office a pissing match with the media for correctly reporting the facts.

What has been left out of mainstream media to the fact that the press was barred from entering permitted protest sites during the inauguration. Fortunately, half the parade route was lined with protestors and their was no avoiding that in camera shots of the parade.

      • FLORC says:

It’s risky, but I’m sort of hopefully this is happening. This MAJOR wrong is happening. So major the press can become and thrive as it once was. True investigation. Not repeating the words and messages handed of to them.
Trump can’t carry on like this. Not without huge backlash. There’s only so much drivel he can feed even his biggest supporters before they start to wonder wtf is happening. That his promises aren’t happening. And their freedoms and causes, concerns are being neglected.

I’m worried for my adopted country.

      • bluhare says:

FLORC!!!!! Lovely to see your name!

      • Indiana Joanna says:

@JETLAGGED THE WH Press Corp will have to develop new strategies to cover this administration and baby fists. Just like Nixon, baby fists covers up his fear and insecurity with lies and combativeness towards the press. He’s trying to suppress the press and any one else who disagrees with him because he has something to hide. It’s more important to baby fists that the truth be covered up than his focussing on being president.

In our democracy, the press is accountable to the people, not anyone else no matter how powerful. During the primaries and presidential races the press failed the American people by laughing at baby fists and focusing on his tweets rather than taking his hatred and dangerous ideas seriously.

Members of the press will be judged during this next four years. They will need to be nimble, disciplined, relentless and take their job very seriously to uncover why baby fists is so afraid of truth.

      • FLORC says:

        Hi bluhare!!!
Sorry it’s not under more snarky circumstances:/

      • Sixer says:

Lovely to see you from me too, FLORC!

      • The Other Katherine says:

@jetlagged, news organizations that get barred from the WH press conferences should wear that as a badge of honor. They can absolutely still report on the content of the press conferences, they just won’t be present to ask questions during them — and it won’t matter anyway, because there won’t be any honest answers. What the real news media can do is report the crazy lies that are told, fact-check them relentlessly, and point out the important questions that the right-wing lickspittle propaganda organs refuse to ask. The non-far-right public will notice when the news programs they normally watch on CNN, MSNBC, and so on, are nothing but constant coverage of how Trump’s press secretary is lying incessantly to Breitbart & Co. and how Trump’s hand-picked media organs are failing to call the lies out.

    • KB says:

ETA: it’s obviously completely terrifying too, and we can’t trust a damn thing that comes out of his mouth anymore. Respectable news networks and papers are handling it well, I think. Calling a spade, a spade.

      • elle says:

Ditto. I finally just shut my account down, when I saw a comment from my GAY bf from high school:

“On a positive note, Donald Trump got more people exercising in one day than Michelle Obama in her entire 8 years.”

        Seriously.

    • Ramona says:

Trevor Noah (who is actually getting really good) had a great Disney song rendition on his show called “No More Excuses Now” which perfectly laid out the problem with winning; your ideas become policy. That means Trumps administration is now faced with the same set of trade offs that Obama grappled with. In healthcare for example, he is about to lose a lot of those hardcore supporters because either half will have to pay more in so that others are covered or half will lose their health coverage. And lucky for us, he has house majority. This is lucky because he cant even blame Dems when he fails to deliver. Its all on him. So I think his popularity even among the republican base will dip within the first six months. And who knows what the Republicans in the House, especially those he humiliated, will do to him. I think an early impeachment is very likely.

      • Esmom says:

I really hope this is true. This is how it should work but in this new world order nothing seems to make sense anymore. Somehow I could see people’s insurance going up and they’ll STILL find a way to justify their support of Trump.

      • Sixer says:

In the UK, people voted for austerity on the basis that there were idle scroungers and immigrants to hate on and only those people would be hit by it. Six years on and public services they need are in tatters and who are they blaming? The politicians who were too stupid to understand that all their austerity cuts didn’t save any money, just transferred to other budgets? Nope. Scroungers and immigrants.

I expect Trumpists will say it’ll all be ok once the Great Wall is finished or some other similar reality-denying batshittery.

      • Annetommy says:

The Tory Government in the UK used Trump’s inauguration as cover to slip out a most appalling new law, that women who have a third child will only be able to get a particular benefit if they show that the conception was a result of rape. Only then will an exception be made that the benefit only applies to the first two kids. Totally and utterly appalling. Discussion about rape is a matter for the woman, medical staff and police and courts. No one else. The trade unions should immediately instruct their members to refuse to participate in any discussion with a claimant about this. And the government is headed by a woman. I am revolted.

      • Sixer says:

Annetommy – I really thought they’d backtrack on that one. What have we become?

    • TheOtherOne says:

@Ramona: I completely agree. I believe his hardcore supporters will support him no matter (similar to how cult members love their leaders even if they have been committed of a crime.) but for the rest he needs to deliver, which he won’t. He is a pot stirrer and a reality tv host not an agent for change. Everything falls on him and the whole world is looking. He will either get impeached or completely crack and need 5150, which will make him ineligible for office.

  6. Aussie girl says:

I would find it amusing if this wasn’t so scary. It’s like he is trying to control the media and what will be written about himself in history. This is to George Orwell, 1984 for comfort.
“He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.”

    • Christin says:

Based on the campaign, election and his first 48 hours in office, the eventual biography of his tenure will need to be an encyclopedia set. I have never seen so many lies in such a short period of time. No sugarcoating — they are just lies upon lies.

He is trying to not only rapidly deflect, but wear out the media and the public. I hope the media is on to his game, and realizes the people are not buying these attempts to control and shift the narrative. Laugh at the clowns.

  7. nemera34 says:

He sent his Press Secretary out to LIE to the PRESS, and Whine about how mean the PRESS is to them. And his obsession with the crowd size is beyond funny. He has more important things to do than read about the number of people at his inaugural. He is showing the world exactly how his presidency will go. He can’t stop reading things about himself. He is thin skinned. “BAITED BY A TWEET”.. Hillary nailed that for sure.
He is an embarrassment. And the world is watching how easily it is to get to him. Don’t you think other foreign leaders that want to get to him will know that all they have to do is tweet or make a comment that hits his ego. Obama had 8 years of the Republican throwing every nasty thing they could at him. YET they were never ever able to break him or make him react in a way that went against his principles. Trump won’t be able to control himself. And he will always jump to the defense. He is a child. Sadly one that is leading this Nation.

    • SusanneToo says:

I loved the tossaway afterthought – Oh, yeah, he’s going to meet with the British PM. What a pathetic mess right out of the gate, Crash and burn.
ETA. His obsession with size is obviously overcompensation for the teeniness of something else.

      • Sixer says:

Yes, but at least Theresa May had to come onto the BBC and answer questions regarding her position on pussy-grabbing and whether or not it would come up in her meeting with the Orange One thanks to that throwaway. It was marginally amusing breakfast TV for me today!

  8. Jenni says:

What the F is going on with this world?! I have no words. Armageddon is coming.

  9. Jenns says:

So let’s recap the past 48 hours:

He’s still tweeting about himself from his RealDonaldTrump Twitter account.

He sent his press secretary out to LIE to the press because they reported facts he didn’t like.

He went to the CIA and talked about himself and how many times he was on the cover of Time Magazine. And while doing this, he was standing in front of the CIA Memorial Wall, which the former CIA director ripped him for because it was disrespectful.

The only things that he’s done so far that doesn’t involve him is make it harder for middle/lower class families to get a mortgage.

    • nemera34 says:

Yes he is tweeting from his old account..

Wait is that is “private server”..

    • Ramona says:

Lets recap the last 1 hour. Still tweeting on his personal account to:
      1) Taunt the demonstrators.
      2) Brag about the inauguration ratings over Obamas second term inauguration ratings
      3) Claim that he had “long standing ovations” at CIA HQs

Then silence for an hour and then a more respectful tweet about 2 minutes ago recognising the right to protest. Bet you my right arm, that was sent by the poor staffer who usually tweets from the iphone.

For anyone who missed this news, the techies did a bunch of science analysis stuff and discovered that ALL the measured tweets are sent from an Iphone and only during standard working hours. The angry early morning tweets that sound distinctly like Trump come from an android phone. So thats how we know there IS a poor staffer whose job it is to moderate his twitter presence.

      • lightpurple says:

Of course, they were standing ovations. Nobody had a chair.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if the other poster is Ivanka – Baby Fists wouldn’t just let anyone have access to his account. It has to be a family member.

      • Anastasia says:

The applause at the CIA speech was from paid Trump staffers.

      • mee says:

Interesting. I can’t imagine what it’s like to work for such a lunatic. There was a sign at the SF march that I only partly remember now due to post-Trump stress disorder: “I have 140 character flaws . . .” and something about his tweets. Anyway it was perfect

      • Shark Bait says:

Hahahaha those stats about tweets are giving me life. Staffer sends measured, presidential like tweets during business hours. Cheeto Benito sends unhinged, reckless tweets from his own Android phone at 3 am.
This would be funny if it weren’t terrifying.

    • Nicole says:

      1. He’s also had 10 new businesses open.
      2. Linked Melania’s business to the official WH page before taking it down cause…illegal.
      3. Signed executive orders.
      4. Took down pages related to Civil Rights, LGBTQIA rights, Native Rights, Energy, the Arts, etc with no replacement.
      5. We currently have zero ambassadors. ZERO. As in if you’re in a foreign country the embassy does not have a liaison. Because he fired them all and has no replacement.
      6. We also have no functioning exec branch. Cause they are behind on hiring new members. Because they fired everyone.
      7. Bannon wrote his speech which is why it sounded so Nazi
      8. The slogans are the WH page are old Nazi slogans. So we are officially Germany in 1933.

Just to keep the eyes on the more pressing issues other than the tweets which are a nice distraction.

      • original kay says:

He’s not going to replace the ambassadors. Or if he does, it will be only to countries like Russia, etc.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

So far one ambassador has been appointed or awaiting senate approval, Woody Johnson is now the US ambassador to the UK (a plum position).

      • lightpurple says:

We also currently have no US attorneys. US attorneys are the chief law federal law enforcement officer within their appointed districts. Without them, the government cannot prosecute crimes, prosecute or defend civil cases in which the US is a party, or collect debts. This is a disaster.

      • SusanneToo says:

He has opened 32 new businesses since election day.
        http://twitter.com/funder/status/822663591610511361

      • Sixer says:

Wait, what? I knew he wasn’t auto-replacing the ambassadors, but the US attorneys? Bloody hell.

      • lightpurple says:

@Sixer, They’re done. Ours had her last day early last week, said farewell. There was an “acting” for the last few days but he’s technically done now too. The Department of Justice has not updated its web page so they’re all still listed but none of them are still working and there are no replacements. Everything has ground to a halt. I have co-workers who had cases scheduled for trial this week and the US attorneys office was filing late last week for emergency extensions because they wouldn’t have the authority to represent. Same problem with many agency heads. We will have total chaos in the next few weeks. The man is mind-numbingly unqualified but that his “advisors” were not aware and did not act on these problems is unconscionable and unforgivable. It is as if they really wanted to shut down the government.

      • Sixer says:

Lightpurple – I thought I was running out of shock but I am truly shocked. This is um… Jebus, I don’t know what to say. People stateside have got to pay attention to what is happening in their institutions and to their democratic conventions because these things are as important as new legislation or statements by the Orange One. Because so much of what we think is immutable and will continue on regardless – well, isn’t and won’t. (I’m saying similar upthread about the press conference itself. It’s not a new normal: it’s the collapse of democratic convention).

      • lightpurple says:

@Sixer, because he took office on a Friday and government offices are closed on the weekends, I think few people will realize these problems until the end of the coming week or the one after. However, the US attorneys are supposed to be on call at all times. Things do happen on weekends,, which is why the judiciary branches, even at the highest level, have judges on call. Same with ambassadors, things happen at night and on weekends. In the past, officials served, even though they were expected to submit letters of resignation, until a replacement or an “acting” had been named. Not this time, not this moron of a president.

      • Kori says:

He already ordered that all diplomats overseas will not be getting the customary ‘finish things up’ time. Maybe he’s relented but it was a stink over here. There are people who have kids in school, etc. Traditionally people have gotten waivers to extend but the administration had said no exceptions.

    • Arpeggi says:

As much as Spicer throwing a hissy fit was ridiculous/funny, what Baby Fists did at the CIA is absolutely stupid and will definitely not help his relationship with the Agency. He made what? One sentence about the wall behind him and the CIA and then it was all about him and how tremendously bigly great and smart he his. He stated that he was the agency’s biggest fan, that he never said a bad word about them. He self-plagiarized saying that he was going to back them so much that they’d be begging for him to stop backing them so much… Doesn’t the guy understand that tweets and video footages don’t disappear? That we know how often he sh#t-talked the “intelligence” of his country? I dunno, but to me, if you manage to piss off the CIA and the press, things can’t go well for you. We can (hopefully) expect some Deep Throat 2.0 in the near future.

Also, there’s more than 130,000 signatures on the WH petition site asking for POTUS to present his tax records, yay!

On a lighter note, is it just me that thought “labia” when looking at Melania’s gown?

And I loved the To Sir, With Love salute to President Obama.

  11. boredblond says:

No surprises..low ratings infuriate him more than anything else on earth. It’s ludicrous to think, as tv pundits keep saying, that this will change. In all the kiss up coverage, it went unnoticed that the entire section of information on the rights of those with disabilities vanished from the WH website. More to follow, I’m sure..

    • jwoolman says:

Check out obamawhitehouse.gov. The missing pages might be found there or at least clues to where they were archived. It’s possible this was a normal cleanout and transfer of material referencing the previous President. Wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for replacements, though, since so much of the actual legislation is probably on the chopping block. Somehow I don’t think President Tweeter is interested in disability rights.

Tweeter seems to be focusing on tax cuts for the 1% and trashing most regulations on companies, along with repealing the ACA or its vital parts to kill it. I think he’s going after the individual mandate to have insurance coverage at the moment, without which the ACA will fall apart because no insurance company in its right mind wants to issue insurance for just for sick and high risk people. They want a large number of healthy people in the pool. Tweeter can do a lot by Executive Order, apparently because Obama resorted to that route himself to get past the Republican blockades in Congress.

He signed something about that damned $25 billion Wall that Mexico won’t pay for. I hear that Trump piñatas have been popular in Mexico for a while now and were featured in a Mexican sister women’s march last Saturday.

  12. Shell says:

The most ridiculous part of the crowd argument is the white grass protector made it difficult to see the crowds. in reality, black and white folks would be more visible against a white surface. I live in DC and Metro was sending tweets all morning letting folds know about the availability of parking spaces. yesterday there were hour long waits to get into the subways.

    • lightpurple says:

And the white grass protector has been used since one of the Bush inaugurations.

      • Shark Bait says:

Didn’t he say that he was the first to use white grass protector? Why in the world does he lie about things that can be so easily disputed.
I took at bus in to DC yesterday and they parked at RFK Stadium and then took the metro to the rally/march site. The Metro staff had things running so smoothly, it was great. The crowds and lines just to get up the escalators/steps to board the actual metro after scanning your passes was MASSIVE. We were packed in watching that rally like sardines. It was truly BIGLY lol.

  13. Alix says:

This just shows that he is totally THAT guy who all the while he is having “relations” makes every woman tell him how big he is and tell him she’s never had anything more bigly in her life. So so so pathetic.

    • nemera34 says:

I doubt he is having relations with anyone outside of himself. A woman would really have to hate herself to let that on top of her. And I think Melania doesn’t have to endure that anymore after giving birth. So if he is getting any it is from a “I hate myself” professional. And I hope the CIA lets that bit of info out at some point.

      • Esmom says:

Oh that reminds me, I saw a clip of them dancing at an inaugural ball. Their body language was fascinating. They couldn’t even look at each other and she kept leaning away from him. As Trump would say, SAD!

I do believe the way out is to make connections and bridge the divide. I think there are a lot of ignorant people out there who make choices based on fear. Engaging in the negativity just gives them fuel for the fire. Peace is the way out, but I can’t say I’m sorry when I hear that someone who actively perpetuates hatred gets hit in the face.
We can hold on to more than one feeling at once, even when they’re in conflict.

  16. Shambles says:

I’m truly amazed that he thinks he can lie about something that we can literally see right in front of our eyes, but I shouldn’t be. That’s his MO, and that of his supporters too. Right after the election, the Trump people were saying, “Give him a chance because the crooked media just twists everything he says!” And I was like… The media doesn’t need to twist what he says. You can just listen to the actual words he says and that’s reason enough to be terrified. Lol @ being gaslighted.

Michelle Obama’s expressions throughout the day were both empowering for those of us who feel just like she does, and totally heartbreaking. As was the grace, class, and evident pain of Madame Hillary Clinton, pantsuit queen and the People’s President. Also, the Obamas are too good for us.

There’s this photo going around of Barack and Michelle, each with a gracious and comforting hand on Melania’s back as Trump glides unfeelingly ahead. That truly made me sad for her. Someone said, “anyone watching knows what’s up with her marriage, and so do the Obamas.” She looked so stiff and scared. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she was in an abusive situation.

    • original kay says:

we are now all in that same abusive situation, without the gilded NYC penthouse, or even adequate healthcare.

No sympathy for her, none at all. My sympathy is being directed towards the millions who will suffer from lack of food, affordable housing, basic healthcare, while trying to prosper under this fascist regime.

      • Chrissy says:

Exactly, kay. Melania can leave at any time and no one would blame her. She chose to be with him and she knows what he’s like. It’s those people without alternatives that have my sympathy. The ones who voted for him though and will be paying the price with losing their coverage etc., will get an eye opening reality check very soon.

      • Shambles says:

Believe me, you guys, I feel you. I was on the “ZERO sympathy for Melania” train for the longest. And there are definitely people in this my country that I am much more concerned about. But… I don’t know. I’m feeling a change of heart.

        This photo:

        https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10211426829970080&id=1342401244

        It speaks volumes to me.

Maybe she can’t leave any time she wants, in her mind. Maybe he’s spent their entire marriage calling her a stupid whore and telling her she’d be nothing without him.

        Idk.

“She was a dirt-poor, uneducated Slovenian girl who hooked her way out of hell and married someone who said on Howard Stern that he wouldn’t care if she was burned and lost a limb as long as her “tits” were still ok. She looked like a caged animal all day to anyone that was paying attention.”
        – the woman who posted the above photo

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

@Shambles – i have some sympathy for Melania, its been very obvious she never wanted to be First Lady, I’ll bet she’s been biding her time until Barron was old enough and then she’d split. Now she’s stuck. She seems to prefer being in the back ground, raising her son.

All the signs are there that this is not a healthy relationship and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was being abused – he has previous for it with his first 2 wives.

      • jwoolman says:

She has good reason to worry that the vindictive narcissist would take custody of her son from her, just to keep the child from her even though he has no interest in raising him. Even joint custody would be awful. My guess is that she will do whatever he wants until her son is old enough to be safe. Which also tells us that Tweeter wants her in NYC. Then his daughter can act as FLOTUS, which is much more agreeable to him. I think they are informally separated and just pretend for the cameras.

    • Elisa the I. says:

I just saw the coverage from the inauguration and the Way Emperor Baby Fist looks at Melania is WHOA. He seemed to be super worried that she would make some mistake (meaning not do as he wants her to do). Now my take is that HE doesn’t want HER at the WH. Also, he gave her directions all the time (what to do, where to go, when to speak). When they were dancing she was so incredible tense – and did he remove her hand from his chest while dancing or did my eyes deceive me?
So yes, I agree with you: this looks like an abusive relationship.

      • Esmom says:

I didn’t see the inauguration, only listened to it on the radio, but that’s awful. And that’s rich that he’s worried about what she might do when he can’t keep off twitter or resist resist bragging/lying about crowd size in front of the CIA.

I did see a clip of them dancing and their body language was very disturbing to me. They seem like they can barely stand each other.

      • Shambles says:

Elisa, my gut tells me he’s abusing her. I know I’m incredibly biased, and I can’t just go around accusing people of things on gut feelings. But the photo I just posted in reply to Original Kay… it’s just harrowing. Something is up.

And the women who commented on that photo… I really want to cry. They say, “It’s crystal clear for those of us who know. Gas lighting. Abuse. She said being as together as she can be. We need to support her”

      • original kay says:

Ok Shambles, I will, because no matter what money, people can be abused and not able to leave.

        Thanks for reminding me.

      • SusanneToo says:

Good point. He did make his pussygrabbing comments while she was pregnant. Has probably always treated her like dirt or handy arm candy. I just can’t get my mind around any woman going near that sack of sh1t for any amount of money. He is skincrawlingly loathsome and always has been.

      • jwoolman says:

President Tweeter shows all the signs of a malignant narcissist. They tend to go into rages very easily and become physically and/or verbally abusive to spouses and children especially.

I was appalled when that press conference was held yesterday lambasting the media because of their reporting. I thought to myself…Why does this man care? This is rediculous but then I came across an article that basically said while that news briefing was going on and we were busy paying attention to cakes and marches, and the size of his inauguration, meetings were held to try to push through Trump’s decision for SCOTUS. The news wasn’t even reported and I felt sick.

BHO is now @POTUS44. trump’s numbers are being inflated because twitter kept Obama’s followers there when trump took over the account. Same with FLOTUS and VP. They are now @….44. They also have their personal accounts under their names. Just a suggestion.

    • Insomniac says:

Yeah, I unfollowed right quick when I realized Tinkles now had that account. Fortunately I still followed Barack Obama’s account.

Michelle Obama’s face in those photos is exactly how I felt that day, although I didn’t watch the inauguration. (Nor did a lot of other people, it sounds like. Much lower ratings than Obama’s!)

And my reaction to the video of the Neo-Nazi f*ckstick getting clocked was “I should really disapprove of that but HAHAHAHAHA let me play it again.”

    • bluhare says:

I got that as soon ask saw trump on my feed. Got rid of both of them toot sweet.

    • Shark Bait says:

I got on Twitter Friday afternoon, and I said to myself, out loud, when did I ever start following Mike Pence and Trump on twitter?? What the hell??
Then I realized they took over for the POTUS and VP accounts and I was sad.

  20. Eric says:

Nice first day in office Emperor Zero! Your broccoli got steamed because your inaugural crowd was dwarfed by the Women’s March and you told Press Secretary Sean (SS) Spicer to lie about it?? Didn’t think that anything else could have been more important on your first day?

3000 buses were chartered for the ’09 inauguration, 1200 yesterday for the Women’s March and 393 for your inauguration. Bwahaha!

    You failed King Joffrey!

    • Christin says:

Planes, trains, automobiles, subway — every mode of transportation was supposedly booked up. The photos and coverage made it clear which had the larger crowd. And how long people stayed was also very telling.

  21. Nico says:

So how many days until he’s impeached? Because it’s been two days, and this is already a mess.

    • BJ says:

For people who keep bringing up impeachment.Under what grounds could he even be impeached? He can’t be impeached for being an delusional, ignorant ,sexist, narcissistic,Cheetos colored egomaniac, can he?

      • Justme says:

The ACLU is supporting efforts to impeach him based on his conflicts of interest. Specifically regarding the Trump Hotel. They also believe that he will be privy to business deals that he may potentially pass on to his children that are currently running his business holdings…So there are some grounds for insider trading.

      • lightpurple says:

Violation of the emoluments clause, which he violated the moment someone paid a bill, any type of bill, at the hotel on the land he rents from the US government.

      • Eric says:

He violated the law on his first half-day in office when he sent out a tweet as president then deleted it because he couldn’t spell “honored” (he instead wrote “honered”).

By deleting the tweet, Emperor Zero violated the Freedom of Information Act which applies to all presidents and the official (ie presidential) documents they produce.
        Nice job Diaper Bigly!

      • cynic says:

He can probably be impeached for all his conflicts of interest, but I doubt the republican congress (and that a$$hole Jason Chavetz) will do it. They are eagerly waiting to roll back all the progressive legislation of the last 150 years.

      • Christin says:

It’s not a question of what, but WHO will have the guts to do it.

      • Kelly says:

His impeachment needs to be timed to make sure those Americans with chronic short term memory loss (aka most GOP voters) are aware of it November 2018. Ideally it would be during late summer/early fall 2018 when the GOP leadership least wants it so it ties up members of Congress and Trump when they could be out campaigning to help keep their seats or help candidates on the ballot. They would rather not have the attention on a sitting president facing impeachment for conflicts of interest and likely treason while trying to retain multiple governors, their House majority, and attempting to flip a half dozen Senate seats held by Democrats in red states.

I do think the honeymoon period between him and Congress is likely to be very short because he’s not willing to be Ryan and McConnell’s puppet. Look at how they’ve backtracked on the ACA repeal, which is now looking like it won’t happen. I also get the impression that the Democrats in Congress, while still a minority, are more on the same page than the Republicans. Trump’s presidency is only a bandage on Ryan’s fragile coalition in the House.

      • Who ARE These People? says:

If the final dots can be connected in terms of any financial links to the Russian government, especially if they helped to fund any components of his campaign and/or he was aware of their funding hacking into the DNC but did not report it, that is treason.

      • lightpurple says:

@Kelly, I see absolutely nothing to make me think for an instant that the repeal of the ACA won’t happen. He has already signed legislation to repeal it. Not funding provisions of it while they supposedly hammer out their non-existent “replacement” and not enforcing other provisions during that time can essentially kill major parts of it.

  23. grabbyhands says:

It’s sadly astonishing how easy it was to call, that he would flip out about how poorly attended his inauguration was, but even I was taken aback at the level he was ready to stoop to -having his press secretary call a press conference for no other reason than to spout easily disprovable lies about attendance numbers and then walk out without talking questions, co-opting his own appearance at the CIA to compliment the agency that he recently compared to Nazis, to whine about media meanies etc. What has been even worse for me is how many people just dug in further in their defense of this moron-basically now it’s not just the US that is fake news, it’s a vast global news conspiracy to make him look bad.

And the hypocrisy. Oh lord, the unending hypocrisy. And I’m supposed to unite with these people? Yeah, F*CK that.

  24. IlsaLund says:

His whining over crowd size was ridiculous. To be fair, though, if you were looking out from the viewpoint of the Capitol then you would (mistakenly) believe the crowd was larger than it was. But the aerial photos don’t lie. I choose to believe what my eyes and ears tell me. But as this article discusses, there’s a rationale for the crazy that we’re hearing from Drumpf and his minions.

    http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/1/21/14347952/trump-spicer-press-conference-crowd-size-inauguration:

This, along with much else Spicer said, was plainly untrue. But there’s a strategy at work here. The Trump administration is creating a baseline expectation among its loyalists that they can’t trust anything said by the media. The spat over crowd size is a low-stakes, semi-comic dispute, but the groundwork is being laid for much more consequential debates over what is, and isn’t, true.
Delegitimizing the institutions that might report inconvenient or damaging facts about the president is strategic for an administration that has made a slew of impossible promises and takes office amid a cloud of ethics concerns and potential scandals.
It also gives the new administration a convenient scapegoat for their continued struggles with public opinion, and their potential future struggles with reality. This kind of “dishonesty from the media,” Spicer said, is making it hard “to bring our country together.” It’s not difficult to imagine the Trump administration disputing bad jobs numbers in the future, or claiming their Obamacare replacement covers everyone when it actually throws millions off insurance.

    • WingKingdom says:

This is frankly a brilliant analysis, and makes me all the more scared for the future.

    • mrspanda says:

This is so true, and because the pollsters and media got the election results so wrong, it is unfortunately quite easy for Team Trump to delegitimise them.

  29. Carmen says:

Unfuckingbelievable. He’s the president of the United States and he acts like a spoiled brat. Why is he making such a major stink out of such a trivial issue? Why should he care how big his crowds were? Can anyone imagine Bush or Obama acting like that? I honestly think Trump is on the verge of a major psychotic break. He acts like he’s losing it.

    • Esmom says:

I could see him having a breakdown, too. The demands of this job are so wide-ranging and he’s so woefully unqualified to handle pretty much any of them that he’s just focusing on the same old crap that he did as a “civilian.” The pressure has got to be eating away at him.

    We are all so effed.”

Yes, I can believe it, and because she flips her bleached blonde hair extensions and talks in circles and is petite, far too often she gets away with her bullshit, instead of being pressed.

Trump’s latest tweets were hilarious . He was bragging how his TV ratings were higher than Obama’s. The idiot thinks if he says it it’s true. No one compares a second term for a president to the ratings of a newly elected president in his first term. Did he think he was going to get that over on anybody? Obama’s TV ratings were I think almost seven million higher comparing the first terms as incoming presidents.

And Spencer is an absolute joke. He went out there with marching orders from Trump and made a fool of himself. All they do is talk about lies, and they are the ones perpetuating falsehoods.

Trump’s press conference made me want to puke. Is he insane? The media reported on his comments about the CIA, his tweets, but he stood there and blamed his riff with the CIA on the media. And he stands there patting himself on the back, bragging, as usual about all kinds of other things.

I watched Rachel Maddow and her discussion about his press conference back when he announced his candidacy, where he kept going over how thousands had showed up and how no other candidate had that and how impressed he was. Trump had hired an agency to provide actors for that press conference, to stand out there with signs. I would laugh at the absurdity of this, but this carnival barker became our POTUS. It’s no laughing matter.

    • Christin says:

Superficial comment here — If those are hair extensions, they are possibly the worst I have ever seen. They are fried worse than Goop’s.

But back during the election, when she was on Morning Joe, they were in her hair, and you could tell, especially from a back shot of her head that showed how damaged her hair was and that there were extensions in or clip ons.

  34. Too Curious says:

My gosh. Give this president a chance. I watched the inauguration and the crowd photo you have is wrong. It filled out much more. My guess is that the liberal media chose a photo of the crowds filing in before the inauguration because that was way fewer than what I saw on TV. His speech was excellent. It was populist and it was the first speech where it wasn’t I, I, I, but we, as in the people, will be involved in making this country a better place. I wish you would give him a chance. I am guessing he was right. When I eyed the crowd, I would say it was 1 million or more. I know this because I compared it to William and Kate’s wedding and it looked like he had more people at his inauguration. I am objective. And yes, I think the liberal media lies a lot. And sorry, Obama didn’t do very much for this country. He was lucky that he had a Republican House and Senate to curb his socialist policies. I would attribute our economic improvement to them not him–as they are the ones that can fillibuster any bills he tried to pass through. Also, the economy is cyclical in nature and it just so happened that he was lucky to leave when it was on an upswing. Basic economics.

    • Jayna says:

It wasn’t even remotely close to a million. Give me a break. Keep up your delusions.

By comparing it to Will & Kate’s wedding, you are looking at two completely different landscapes so there is no way you could do a comparison. The Metro has released numbers of riders and comparison figures to the four previous inaugurations. Fewer people attended Trump’s inauguration by Metro than attended Bush’s SECOND.

Give him a chance? On Friday afternoon, he signed an Executive Order that will allow insurers to deny me my employment-based health insurance because of a pre-existing condition and if they don’t deny me, to charge me more than they would a man on the grounds that I’m a woman. They can also now refuse to cover mammograms and other annual screenings. No, he has no replacement for those provisions. He had his chance. He blew it. How many more chances would you like me to give him? And that’s not even touching on the moron he nominated who thinks guns belong in schools because of bears.

He comes in with a low approval rating and he lost the popular vote. Trump is more interested in having Twitter beefs with his critics and lying to the public about crowd size than staffing key positions in the National Security Council and reading his intelligence briefings. And you wonder why there is push back against him? People fear the Third Reich has returned. As for the Republicans that are currently behind him? The GOP will stick with him until Trump becomes a political liability to the party and individual elected officials; and watch the investigations move in earnest and the Articles of Impeachment go through the first draft.

    • lightpurple says:

@TooCurious, since you have so much trouble with the lying liberal media, may I suggest that you rely on primary sources instead? One I suggested for you above was the Metro, which released its ridership numbers. thomas.gov is always a good source for information on what Congress and the President has done, given that it is, you know, the Library of Congress and it is statutorily charged with maintaining the congressional record without bias.

On my Facebook page, an acquaintance was going on a rant about how filthy the streets of Boston were this morning after yesterday’s march with garbage strewn all over the Common. I then linked her to the City’s Department of Parks & Recreation that had posted a “thank you” to the organizers and marchers for taking such good care of the national landmark that is Boston Common, complete with pictures of a pristine Common that were taken yesterday afternoon AFTER the march.

    • bluhare says:

Betti, to be fair those items will continue to be covered –there are some state mandates that trump (ha) federal mandates and could continue the same level of coverage for preventive services. However, what could be repealed is getting those covered with no copay. Right now preventive services (per the AMA guidelines) don’t have cost shares. Repealing it would probably put them back in. However, you might be right about pre existing conditions. We’ll go back to the “portability” days pre ACA.

Also, he too was shocked that trump has still not signed over his company control, and that his children are running things “blindly” (from Washington DC no less), and that it was necessary to even call a press conference to talk about inauguration size.

and yes, my parent was a trump supporter.

Thanks for sharing, this was really good. I liked, from the same excerpt you quoted from: “Instead of relying exclusively on the traditional skills of political reporting, the carriers of press cards ought to start thinking of covering Trump’s Washington like a war zone, where conflict follows conflict, where the fog prevents the collection of reliable information directly from the combatants, where the assignment is a matter of life or death.”

I also liked how journalists seem to be vowing not to let Trump divide them. I actually saw evidence of that with the very little of Fox coverage that I checked into yesterday. At the same time, I still don’t think the press is yet practicing what they are preaching — to call Trump (and Conway et al) out and really hold their feet to the fire. I guess it’s early and they are still trying to get their feet under them. What a horrifically tough job this will be.

      • LinaLamont says:

lmao! Warms my heart to see that more people protested than supported. Those photos speak for themselves. I’m proud of the women who protested yesterday. Wish I could’ve been among them. To those pleading for us to give him a chance, my answer is no. I won’t give a racist, misogynistic windbag an ounce of my respect or an iota of hopeful credibility. I’m not even American, and I hate him.

  45. Rapunzel says:

If Emperor BabyFist likes alternative facts so much, we should all make up our own about him.

    1. Fact: The golden showers tape is legit.
    2. Fact: BabyFist and Vlad Putin spoon in bed every night. That’s why Melania is staying in NYC.
    3. Ivanka’s children were all fathered by BabyFist.
    4. Kellyanne Conway is a demon from hell.

    5. Alec Baldwin is real Donald Trump, and BabyFist is a defective clone who took over his life.

  46. Marcy says:

Even Time magazine called him put on his lies about how many times he’d been on their cover Richard Nixon was on it at the most. I hate to say this but Congress and his picks kiss his behind too much keep playing and lying they all will be fired by WE THE PEOPLE. The news needs to not be intimidated by him he’s one man we are many.

    • Rapunzel says:

The quotations from that book mentioned in the article make me want to vomit. Alternative history at it’s finest.

    • Esmom says:

Did you see the update? They’ve pulled it from their shelves. But I’d say it was pretty dumb of them to agree to sell it in the first place. Also it’s funny that they (Trump et al) would rush a book like this out so fast — doesn’t anything billing itself as “history” require more than a few hours/days before it’s considered as such? Maybe even they realize his days as POTUS are numbered…

      • SusanneToo says:

Yeah, the update was in the article. The book was written, by a Stein supporter, specifically for trumpees and no one else. Because why would trumpees care about actual, you know, facts? Everyone knows that facts are just liberal propaganda.

  47. AG says:

Kaiser, Celebitchy, I just love you! You do a great service! I feel both angry and uplifted! Thank you so much.

  48. Patty says:

It’s important not to get hung up on them lying about crowd size, it’s a distraction. We need to be vigilant about making sure the real behind the scenes stuff is getting reported.

  49. Isabelle says:

Sean Spicer was the equivalent of Baghdad Bob yesterday He lied right through his teeth. Pure propaganda. This is how fascism begins. Anyone standing by these authoritarians possible rising fascists, after yesterday so called press conference, know this you are supporting propaganda and a lying President. A President trying to undermine a free press. The President NEVER NEVER has the right or authority to tell what the media can report or print. That was basically a press conference telling the press what they should and shouldn’t report. I’m f’ing angry and will have zero mercy for this administration. F them.

    • Jayna says:

He was a mess up there at the podium.

    • mayamae says:

I’ve been immersed in Leah Remini’s Scientology project, Going Clear, etc. Spicer was so intense with overt anger boiling over – he reminded me of David Miscavige. Spicer wasn’t lying because his dictatorial boss made him. He seemed to believe what he was saying, which makes him a true fanatic.

      • Sim says:

Ha I was thinking similar that Conway would be a fine scientologist.

      • Isabelle says:

Trumps tactics are very similar to how cults brain wash people. Were you on here when the Scientologists trolled the boards during Tom & Katie’s divorce? They used the exact same trolling tactics as scientology trolls use. They would say “oh all regions are the same” then trash Christianity. Change the topic, got peoples focus off of Scientology. Trumpers do the same, they change the topic or would say Hillary is just as bad as Trump. They use very similar tactics of furthering propaganda.

  50. Jayna says:

Ha-ha. Even Chris Wallace called out Priebus on their falsehoods. Wallace said he was there and saw all the white spaces himself.

I don’t respect Fox News, but Chris Wallace I do. Great interview. Rock on, Chris Wallace. At least, you made your points the lying about the size of the inauguration and Trump blasting the media for his problems with the CIA.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikZJ5nnd7fM

Reince, you’re more articulate and more intelligent than Spicer, Trump, and Kellyanne when you are interviewed and try to spin the lies, but they are still lies.

    • LinaLamont says:

Yeah. I don’t trust Wallace. Of course he had to refute what Trump said in light of the evidence. This way, he can be Fox’s poster-boy for , “See, we told you we’re fair and balanced and not faux news.”. Trump still needs some major news outlet…let’s see if Trump calls out/threatens Fox over one person. Let’s see how Wallace reports on ALL the issues throughout this regime.

      • Esmom says:

Ooh, you’re seeing this more cynically than I was. Thank you for the reality check!

      • LinaLamont says:

        @Esmom
I’m not cynical; I’m cautious, realistic and (healthily) skeptical.
Believe me, I’d love to be proven wrong on this, but….Wallace wasn’t untainted during the debate. He was still a company man.
        🙂

    • Isabelle says:

Gained respect for Wallace after he monitored one of the debates. He was probably the fairest moderator. Of course the cons are now all saying he is really a secret Democrat. That is what they do, when some on Fox actually stats facts they label them liberal. Twisting the truth like their dear leader.

  51. Turningvioletviolet says:

It doesn’t really matter how many people did or didn’t turn up to his inauguration. You can all laugh all you want about crowd levels but enough of you f*****s voted for him that the bastard could have been ianaugurated in front of an empty field and he’d still be your president.

    • Jayna says:

Nobody is laughing. And I didn’t vote for him.

Trump is the one who stated before the inauguration that he was going to have the biggest inauguration and got bent out of shape when the photos emerged.

Then TRUMP is the one who sent his press secretary out there with that bizarre press conference calling the media liars and then stating several falsehoods about the inauguration. Then TRUMP, in a press conference, about the CIA, went off on a tangent lying.

That’s why WE are talking about it. It was a given it was always going to be smaller than Obama’s. Obama was bigger than ever seen. Trump’s is more in line with other Republican presidents. HE’S the one that has gone out there making this a big deal by again LYING over a trivial matter.

Like Fox News’ Chris Wallace says, it’s not important the size. But he said what is important is the fact the the President sent out his press secretary to lie and attack the press over it.
      That’s coming from Fox News.

I do find it funny because Trump cares. He couldn’t even have Scwarzenegger have his first day on the Apprentice without tweeting a very derogatory tweet mocking his ratings compared to his own. The President-elect was spending his time mocking ratings on a TV show. Are you kidding me?

So this is what he is focused on for the press secretary’s first press conference, the size of his crowd, and having him lie, and then Spicer walking off with no questions! You can’t make this stuff up.

      • Esmom says:

All very well said. Trump should’ve let the size of the inauguration crowd roll off him but he is absolutely incapable. You know this is significant if even Fox News calls him out on it. Perhaps the tide really is turning.

    • Harryg says:

But hahaha low attendance bothers Trump SO MUCH since all he wants is to be admired and adored and respected, but he will never be because of his awful repulsive persona.

    • Shambles says:

We chuckle at his small crowds, a tiny victory in a sea of bullshit, to keep from sobbing about what’s happening in our country. And I did not vote for him. I voted for Hillary, and I have 3 million people in the same boat as me. Tensions are high right now, and your comment honestly comes off as crass and rude as hell. Enough of us f*****ckers? Excuse you.

    • SusanneToo says:

Who exactly are you talking to? Start with comment number one, read through all of them, and you might find one person who voted for him, based on her comment. Sorry, you’re screaming at the wrong people.

      • nemera34 says:

        that confused me too.

My anger is more towards the people that didn’t vote or voted for someone other than the 2 major candidates. My Angie is to the people that didn’t bother to vote. Regardless of the outcome.. the people that didn’t vote should be ashamed of themselves. They are a big part of this mess we are in.

    • Isabelle says:

Have you seen his polls numbers they have dropped double digits since pre-election. Down to 32% approval rating before yesterdays hot mess of propaganda. if the election was held today Comrade Snowflake probably wouldn’t win.

  52. Hazel says:

Wow. They couldn’t even come up with their own cake. It demonstrates their complete & utter lack of thought & preparation & professionalism, the kind of thing that leaves us without ambassadors & US attorneys.

  53. Tia says:

This may be a stupid question but does anyone think Trump was dumb enough he didn’t realise he was supposed to consider whether to accept the resignations of Ambassadors and then work out a leaving date if he decided to appoint his own choices (I don’t know if less political appointees may sometimes be kept on)?

I know in business people often get walked out when they resign. Could he actually be so incompetent he just assumed the same went for Ambassadors?

After all, this is the man who thought Obama’s office staff stayed at the White House and was shocked when told he had to appoint his own.

    • lightpurple says:

This man is that incompetent. What troubles me is that his advisors, which include the former Speaker of the House who once shut down the entire federal government, did not advise him to take steps to prevent it.

  54. Diana says:

I saw the following comment on fb by someone named Frank Dehaant on the new yorker’s latest borrowitz report satirizing the Sean spicer debacle. Sent a chill down my spine:

If you are puzzled by the bizarre “press conference” put on by the White House press secretary this evening (angrily claiming that Trump’s inauguration had the largest audience in history, accusing them of faking photos and lying about attendance), let me help explain it. This spectacle served three purposes:
    1. Establishing a norm with the press: they will be told things that are obviously wrong and they will have no opportunity to ask questions. That way, they will be grateful if they get anything more at any press conference. This is the PR equivalent of “negging,” the odious pick-up practice of a particular kind of horrible man (e.g., Donald Trump).
    2. Increasing the separation between Trump’s base (1/3 of the population) from everybody else (the remaining 2/3). By being told something that is obviously wrong—that there is no evidence for and all evidence against, that anybody with eyes can see is wrong—they are forced to pick whether they are going to believe Trump or their lying eyes. The gamble here—likely to pay off—is that they will believe Trump. This means that they will regard media outlets that report the truth as “fake news” (because otherwise they’d be forced to confront their cognitive dissonance.)
    3. Creating a sense of uncertainty about whether facts are knowable, among a certain chunk of the population (which is a taking a page from the Kremlin, for whom this is their preferred disinformation tactic). A third of the population will say “clearly the White House is lying,” a third will say “if Trump says it, it must be true,” and the remaining third will say “gosh, I guess this is unknowable.” The idea isn’t to convince these people of untrue things, it’s to fatigue them, so that they will stay out of the political process entirely, regarding the truth as just too difficult to determine.
This is laying important groundwork for the months ahead. If Trump’s White House is willing to lie about something as obviously, unquestionably fake as this, just imagine what else they’ll lie about. In particular, things that the public cannot possibly verify the truth of. It’s gonna get real bad.
My note: Part of this brainwashing procedure comes with repetition…note Ms. Conway’s use of the term “alternative facts” to cover lies:

  58. enora says:

did he thanked M.Putin fir his position?

  59. Zazz says:

I hope i am not offending my fellow american posters here, but Trump and his administration are following the banana republic playbook to the thee.

Watch the media being sensored and submitted to multiple libels in the future, the underlying threats on all voices questioning his policies being shut down, all measures trying to circonvene democracy.

    It’s only the beginning.

I know there is a system of check and balance in the US, but, I still don’t understand how he managed to get this far and why he is still there with his massive arrogance and his nastiness after so many barely lawfull moves and other questionable conflict of interrests with his businesse.

He still receive money from foreign governments, for god sake which is in total contradiction with the law. His allegiance to Putin is disgusting. It’s like he wants to follow his steps.

He acts more like someone from a shady organization for the interests of a small club than as a president of a big democracy.

The woman March is the greatest thing this country has demonstarted in a long time and give the country his magnificent spirit back, but i wish men in powers, the media would do as much to stop this wanna be dictator by digging deep his nasty secrets and impeach him.

The time for hope is over. It’s time to act and use every democratic mesure available to stop this man tendency to destroy goodness.

People like Trump are dangereous because they are divisive, hateful, delusional, always in denial and function with a massive ego upon which their mood rely on heavily. They are volatile and uncontrollable. I really believe Trump has no love for the people, only for money.

He is unfit for any democracy and needs to be put in check rapidly in order to not damage even more the US and all the democarcies on Earth for that matter.

    • Isabelle says:

You’re not offending because you speaking your mind. Its time liberals & progressives don’t hide their opinion. We have done that for years trying to be polite, trying to be nice not in your face like Conservatives. Well that time is over and we should be very vocal over this administration….and yes a Banana Republic is a good prescription of where we are headed under a Trump administration.

  60. Sam H x says:

I was reading a piece on Jared Kushner, Ivanka and his family on The New Yorker site. His father was a nasty piece of work and as for Jared, the apple don’t fall far from the tree.

Jared was described as always scheming and plotting. Keeping a list of people who he disliked (something like that). The influence he wields on the father in law is astounding.

The Donald has given him the role of senior advisor for Middle East affairs ie. Palestine/Israel. He is said to be pushing for a deal that is pro-Israeli and is a far right wing supporter of Israel. I read he is the one pushing for the embassy (I think) to be moved to Jerusalem which if I’m correct is part of Palestine.

What is terrifying is the fate of the people of Palestine is being left in the hands of Donald Trump’s son in law. The Israeli government is said to be happy about Jared’s new appointment in the Trump adminstration.

Jared is the one to look out for and be wary of. The power he wields right now is really scary. Ivanka and Jared may just be the next Frank & Claire Underwood. Its very chilling.

Link to the New Yorker article: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/08/22/ivanka-trump-and-jared-kushners-power-play

On a lighter note, Jared’s brother Josh Kushner was spotted at the Women’s March with his girlfriend, Karlie Kloss.

    • Lyla says:

I found it interesting that Jared’s brother, Joshua (aka Karlie Kloss’s boyfriend) was marching yesterday.

There is a website up for the legitimate organization that is already working to impeach trump. it is impeachdonaldtrumpnow.org.

You can learn what the legal requirements for impeachment are, where things stand now, what the future will likely bring. I signed the petition, signed up for their newsletter, and donated via paypal.

I urge each of you here to visit the site, sign up, and donate.

“There’s a deeper story here, beyond a single briefing, no matter how memorable. Saturday made clearer than ever that President Trump intends to make the American media his foremost enemy.”

A sense of gloom and despair had settled over the North as we watched a maniac take charge of our neighbours to the south! Been watching sickened by Drumpf, his family and cronie$ making a mockery of everything a just and fair society values! Must really piss him off that we refer to that as a democratic society!
Saturday offered hope as millions all over the world marched! So although I am emotionally exhausted, I wanted to share and get feedback from those more knowledgeable. During the extremely late night Internet searching, I came across a clip from a newsman who talked about Drumpf’s grandfather owning a brothel in California! The heading was about Drumpf denying the value of immigrants when he and the journalist both had benefitted from immigrant ancestors coming to USA! I did not catch the journalists name but wondered if anyone else saw this or knew Drumpf’s family background!
As the rotten apple doesn’t not fall far from the tree, it almost makes sense that this want to be Dictator would have such horrible hatred and disdain for Women’s rights. And sexualize them. Not that he treats anyone’s rights with respects but would love to find link to this website and get feedback from those who might know more!!!
Absolutely love celebitchy.com – I check your site everyday to get info, chuckles and all round intelligent about what is going on!!!♡
