Quel scandale! Sarah Jessica Parker did something very un-Carrie Bradshaw-like, wearing the same dress to two red carpet events! What would her Sex and the City counterpart think?
The 52-year-old actress was first spotted in the leopard print dress with violet lace accents on October 19 the red carpet for the premiere of Amy Sedaris’ new TruTV show At Home with Amy Sedaris at New York’s Bowery Hotel (side note: I love, LOVE Amy Sedaris). She swapped out the accessories and wore the dress again at the Producers Guild of America’s Produced By: New York conference on Saturday, October 28.
At the Deadline-sponsored panel discussion, which also featured Jessica Chastain, producers Alison Benson and Kelly Carmichael, and PGA president Lori McCreary, the topic was the “inclusion crisis” in the entertainment business. Sarah, who has her own production company, noted that “There are more solutions beyond this panel, and many of them are women of color who I think have important stories to tell and need to continue to be encouraged to contribute to these stories that I think that we all want to hear, I think that are necessary and vital and dynamic and incredible.”
As for the dress-cycling, I’m not sure if this is a distraction technique to keep the headlines away from the recent headlines regarding her iconic show or just SJP being thrifty. I haven’t really followed all of this Sex and the City drama because, to be honest, I never watched the show (and never had any interest in it) but it seems from everything I’ve read that SJP is coming off as kind of the villain in the story. As much as I’m not a SATC fan, I do like SJP, although it’s mostly residual love from her role on Square Pegs. Now, that being said, of all the dresses to recycle, why’d it have to be this one? I always equate leopard with a Boca Raton retiree, and SJP has worn so many nice dresses. I love the navy, fringed dress she wore to the New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala last month. Why didn’t she recycle THAT one?
In happier SJP news, on Sunday the actress posted an adorable throwback photo of her son James Wilkie, to wish him a happy 15th birthday. Accompanying the photo of a teeny tiny James clad in a snowsuit and fuzzy hat, Sarah wrote, “Happy birthday. My first born. My only son. 15 years old. Gosh, I thought I knew what love was back then. I hadn’t a clue.X, Mama.” Awww, that’s sweet. Happy birthday, kiddo.

I’m not a huge fan of hers (but loved “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”) and never watched SATC, but I agree on her looks.

Me too!!!! I was obsessed. I used to make my Barbies reenact the big tumbling pass from the competition (“to be the new Dance TV regular!”). There are some songs I like just because they are from that movie. (Slow, slow, quick quick, slow)
Yes! Girls Just Want to Have Fun is one of the greatest 80s movies!! Also agree on the music (you bring the jack -I’ll bring the coke) love it!!
She is waaaaaay overdue to change that eye makeup style. It may have worked when she was younger/ in SATC, but not now, nope.
That’s exactly what I think whenever I see her. The raccoon eyeliner is so harsh. Just changing that aspect of her makeup would probably knock a decade off her face.

I love Amy Sedaris. I love their group of friends. SJP is thrifty and old enough to know it doesn’t matter.

I like her (not love) I LOVED the show. I find most of her fashion choices really annoying for some reason…and I WISH that she would get a new makeup artist. With the right makeup she would like 10 years younger.
I agree on needing a new MUA. She would look so much better without that black liner on her waterline.
The eyeliner is the only real problem, honestly. She’s getting to that age where the natural hooding that comes from aging makes your eyes look smaller, and lining them in kohl just makes them appear even tinier. I get that they want her eyes to pop because they’re so a clear blue, but a softer color, like a brown or a navy, along with a lighter application, would do her a world of good.
She only has had bad press lately, and without the repeat dress neither event appearance would be in most gossip blogs. So she knows how to get column inches. Now she needs to learn how to put down the eyeliner, she has beautiful eyes but this style makes them look so tiny.

That eyeliner HAS TO GO. She already has small, close-set eyes, and the eyeliner makes it worse. Also, it’s too harsh. She needs a new, softer eye look. It would look fantastic!
And perhaps not a severe center part. I’d love to get my hands on her hair and makeup! She’d look ten years younger.
For comparison, I believe Amy Sedaris is older than SJP.
