TLC has been airing promo spots for Monday’s episode of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” that claim the couple is going to make an “announcement” on the special one hour episode. It’s widely anticipated that Jon and Kate Gosselin are going to announce that they’re divorcing after ten years of marriage. They didn’t spend their tenth anniversary together, they’re both rumored to be seeing other people with plenty of evidence in the tabloids, and their disdain for each other is obvious. They’re rarely shown on camera together and avoid each other.
RadarOnline is reporting that they have insider information that Jon and Kate are announcing their divorce. Radar had exclusive video interviews with Kate’s brother and sister-in-law, so I wouldn’t doubt that their source is correct:
It’s official. Jon and Kate Gosselin will announce on Monday that they are divorcing, a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.
The source says that Kate recently met with a divorce lawyer. Another source told RadarOnline.com that the couple had previously agreed to separate by July 15.
But that timetable has now been pushed forward.
TLC released video earlier Thursday teasing that a major announcement was coming. And while many have speculated that it centered on the couple splitting up, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that the marriage is over and Jon will file divorce papers next week.
The stars of Jon & Kate Plus 8 have unwittingly used reality television to broadcast the reality of an unraveling marriage. And they’ve done it to record ratings this season as media frenzy around the battling couple has grown in recent weeks, including this past weekend when Jon and Kate spent their 10th wedding anniversary apart.
Kate previously took the sextuplets on vacation to North Carolina without Jon, who was accused of having an affair with Deanna Hummel. Her brother discussed the relationship publicly in a tell-all with Us Weekly magazine.
Jon and Kate were photographed together Wednesday for the first time in a while.
But they have been talking divorce for quite some time, the source told RadarOnline.com, and the decision was recently finalized to announce it.
After being caught with Deanna Hummel, Jon was then spotted with Hailey Glassman, the daughter of Kate’s plastic surgeon. Sources have told RadarOnline.com that their relationship is ongoing.

These two can’t stand each other, and they’re not willing to fake it anymore. According to Kate’s brother, she drew up a “separation contract” over six months ago stipulating that both she and Jon could see other people as long as he showed up for tapings. Jon has since been seen out with two different 23 year-old women multiple times, and he’s boozing and trying to relive his lost drunken youth. Kate is most likely dating her married bodyguard and is spending her time at the spa and either ignoring or bullying her children depending on what mood she’s in. Jon isn’t willing to fake it anymore and Kate is fed up and angry. Along with announcing their divorce, TLC should announce an end date for this show. It’s only hurting those poor kids and they have enough problems having to deal with parents like that.

Damn….as much as I don’t like the fact that they’re airing all their dirty laundry on national television, I was still rooting for them to stay together and work things out. This is going to devastate the kids, especially maddie and cara. A damn shame. Maybe if they wouldn’t have went with the tv show, their marriage would have been rock solid right now.
I don’t care if they split- other then the effect it will have on those poor kids… I was just hoping TLC was going to have them announce that the show was OVER!

I can’t help but feel this is all for a ratings booster. I think they know the show was going lower in the ratings as other shows are popping up with \multiple births. I have a feelign they’re going to only say that they’ve decided to “concentrate on their relationship” and therefore will be pulling out of the show, that way they “go out” before the shows dies out.
Guys that cheat can’t put their phones down. Who is he always talking too? Hmmm? Mistress 1, Mistress 2, His dealer?? I dunno.
Well this will boost sagging ratings, won’t it. Those poor little kids. I’m sure they’ll be on Oprah in twenty years telling us the inside scoop on this sordid little tale. And a pox on those of you that validate this dreadful situation by watching the show. Surely it can’t be that entertaining to watch such a contrived half hour of so-called family life.
I don’t really care what they do, Im not a big fan of the show. From what I’ve seen and heard from Kate, shes a real bitch..especially not giving her daughter a drink of water.
Sue, I wish that were true. I don’t believe either Goselin will willingly leave that show–they’re so tied up in it that they probably don’t have the moral will to do so. I just hope the show won’t now focus on chronicling the children’s pain and adjustment. That would be so awful, but I bet the parents would be willing to go for it. Anything to keep up the fame and their lavish lifestyle.
I wish Sue was right. I mean, is the divorce such a “big announcement” now? It’s been a long time in coming. I was kinda hoping that the announcement was that they were getting rid of the cameras in the house – that the show was mercifully ending, for the sake of the children. Guess that greed won’t let that happen.
Too bad that fame became a “member of the family” and took it on the fast track to hell. Both of the parents (and I use that term loosely with these two) lost sight of what their responsibilities really were and became addicted to all the big ticket items that have come their way. They’ve now learned that there is a price to be paid when fame comes to live with you. I have no sympathy for either of the adults – you got yourself in this mess. I know that isn’t likely, but all these ‘big announcement’ teasers seem pretty pointless if it is that they are divorcing, that seems pretty inevitable at this point.
It sure seemed like the dad from Orange County Motorcycles, or whatever that show is..(.the older guy w/the handlebar ‘stach) thought she was one hot piece. THAT would be a great show, the courting of Kate and motochops Dad.
p.s. This D prob would of happened regardless, maybe even sooner had there not even been a show. (you know financial struggling is a #1 (okay maybe not #1, but high up there)cause of relationship destructions. PLUS, I have seen the show when Kate’s asked how she felt when she found out she was going to have six, and her reply was that she wasn’t sure if Jon would stay. That says something.)
Not that I find it highly unlikely that they’re announcing a divorce, but I kind of think they are just going to announce that Jon will no longer be on the show. I guess I get that idea because in the commercial Kate says that they have recently made some decisions that will bring everyone peace. I do think they are getting a divorce, I just think they are going to drag the announcement out.
Considering Jon has been apartment hunting at the Trump Tower in NYC, they are beyond done. What I find sad is that he’d move so far away from his kids; if your marriage is done, so be it. But don’t be a douche and give up on your children as well.

If this big announcement is that the cheating stories have been a huge PR stunt, you know the show will definitely crash; who would continue to watch after being lied to? It’s sad that they’re so greedy they didn’t have their attorneys get them out of their contract somehow so they could work on their marriage. Money does evil things to people.

I see Kate’s fame hungry brother and his wife are still trying to suck a little more money out of this. I don’t think Jon & Kate would want to give up the show. It’s very lucrative and since it is “reality” t.v. they could do it as a divorced couple. In fact, with things settled and out in the open, tensions would probably decrease considerably and they could get on with raising the kids. As long as they are friendly and not bitter towards each other, the kids will adjust. Jon is a tool if he moves out of the area. Those kids need him there.

I think they WILL drag it out — I think the whole Trump Tower apartment thing is related to this. They could set up a whole country/city contrast and shuttle the kids back and forth for maximum exposure. Jon doesn’t seem like a city guy, but I can totally see TLC setting him up with a glam city apartment to ship the kids to so we can see them trundled here and there.

I absolutely agree. The show will just continue to lose ratings after their divorce anyway because the public will lose interest in watching a deteriorating family. It’s ridiculous to continue the facade of a wholesome and happy family image, which is the complete antithesis of their current family situation. Those poor kids may end up needing counseling.
Also, Jon and Kate’s marriage was doomed to end from the start, whether they actually had a show or not. Their personalities were just too different and did not mesh together.

Oh what a mess this is turning into. Every day something new with this family. I was a fan of the show as I loved the kids and find them adorable but now I just want it to be over and
try and give the children a happy life
away from the cameras. Don’t really care about Jon & Kate as they have acted so poorly during this fiasco, with their bikes, new styles, tanning, new vehicles, new home, etc. The kids appear to be the same with just being kids but they surely will have some emotional scars if this show continues. Please quit the show now Jon & Kate. Give us an up-date a few years from now!
Oh what a shock. Let’s see, she treated him like dirt for the longest time, controlling his every move, insulting him in front of the world as often as she could, and then they end up BOTH cheating on each other.

That being said, I really hope this doesn’t become a thing where women jump up to hate him and conveniently ignore all the things she’s done. She’s no victim here, not by a long shot. I doubt very seriously she gives a lukewarm sh*t who he’s sleeping with. After all, she drew up that separation contract herself.
The problem is, we’re now apparently going to be treated to watching those poor kids suffer through one of the worst things that can happen to a kid: the implosion of your family. On TV. Yay. Except that I won’t be watching. It’s exploitative enough as it is, adding divorce onto that is just CRUEL.
Boycott this show and TLC, which has become a joke. Seriously. This show’s ratings are sinking (series premiere had a bit over nine million, next episode had five million viewers and some change, and the next one? Just two million.)

First of all, anyone who thinks these two would have lasted regardless of the show (which absolutely destroyed their children’s lives) is wrong. Kate doesn’t respect Jon and never has, hence the constant stabs from the very beginning. Jon doesn’t respect himself enough to have stood up to her ONCE, both creating a power struggle that would have consumed them both. It’s a twisted emotional situation that would have ended in chaos either way. Relationships are built on mutual respect. They never had it.
That said, anyone who is actually going to tune into this crap to hear about the ‘announcement’ is completely rediculous. It can only be one of two things – they are divorcing or separating (hence the move into two places). They are not canceling, the network has 40 new episodes to come and Jon, Kate, and TLC are too greedy and money-starved to care about what happens at this point, as long as they can pimp it for all its worth. Shows are supply and demand, everyone watching that show is contributing to the loss experienced by those children. If you want to know what’s going to happen, just read a blog. Responsibility, folks.
I actually understand the plight they feel they are in if they quit the show. Neither one of them has worked in their original professions in at least a few years, and now with all of this negative press, who would hire either one of them at a normal job anyway? I actually understand them having that mentality.
I did watch a bit of the ‘big show’ last night and I have never really watched the show, but I flipped to it during ads, and Jon seemed either drunk or stoned.
I was hopping jon and kate would stay together for the sack of there kids but i guess it is better since they wont be fighting in front of them but i was thinking that the big annocment was they were staying together! Those Poor kids! xD
I’m sorry but I’m tired of Kate always being made the bad guy. She probably wouldn’t have always had be controlling and tell Jon every move to make if he would have done something instead of just standing there like a doof. I hate that they are getting divorced. I hate it for Jon, Kate and especially those children. I also do not think that Kate has cheated on Jon but I do think that he has done his share of running around and I think that he is despicable for it. He needs to grow up. Oh, boo hoo, Jon you don’t get to run around and do all of the things that you want to do because you have had to take care of your children. That’s Life! When you have children you give up many, many things because it’s your job to take care of your children. I only have two children and I rarely get to do anything for myself. My husband and I both work and take care of our children. We don’t run around partying and whining about how we now have this committment and how we’re not happy about. Wake up Jon, you have eight children, your life is and should be dedicated to taking care of them. I think that Kate has had to be the one to be the primary care giver for those children. I don’t blame her one bit for the way that she feels towards Jon. She also said on the show that she would never not spend a holiday with her children and I don’t blame her one bit. She has been the one to do everything for these children most of their lives so I don’t blame her for saying that she of course if still going to get to be there for these events in their lives. I’m sure she is like most mothers, she has had to do all of the shopping for those kids, whether it’s grocery shopping for shopping for their clothes, shoes, etc. She is probably the one who has always gotten everything for them for their birthday parties, christmas, etc. I have to do it for my two children and it’s alot to take care of and she has eight to care for. I can’t even imagine. I also think that Jon is going through a mid-lie crisis, at the at of 32. I think that he will be sorry later on for what he has done to Kate and his children. He also needs to take those ear rings out of his head, if he only knew how STUPID he looks. I wanted someone to slap him Monday night when he said, I’m starting a new chapter in my life and I am excited. He also said I finally stood on my own two feet and stood up for myself, oh please, you are not a victim Jon. Hey, We should nominate Jon for the next BACHELOR on the Bachelor show!! Mabey Kate, will show up as one of the 25 women, Lord know she would bulldog her way thru to the end. Then the two of them would live unhappily ever after, as they had been all along!! Plus, Jon could get some new phone numbers of the other girls!! All kidding aside, I feel bad for the kids, its sad to see them so exploited by the media.
