One of the cutest little facts about Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence’s friendship is that they were “set up” on a friendship-date by Woody Harrelson. Woody had worked with both young women, and he thought the two actresses would get along well and be able to provide some support for each other as both were navigating Hollywood, relationships and more. It turned out well – Emma and J-Law are very good friends now. Unfortunately, that means that Emma and J-Law introduce each other to the assorted father-figures, dirtbags and sketchballs they’re dating. So imagine my lack of surprise that Emma Stone and Justin Theroux took their not-really-official coupledom to Jennifer’s NYC apartment for a dinner.
Jennifer Lawrence hosted a star-studded dinner at her place in New York City. The Oscar winner had pals Emma Stone and Justin Theroux over to enjoy a meal on the rooftop of her apartment on Monday evening. “They were eating and drinking and looking at the view and taking selfies,” an insider tells E! News of the dinner party, which lasted for a few hours.
After wrapping up their meal, the group, which included journalist Derek Blasberg, then headed back inside Lawrence’s apartment. Theroux was later photographed leaving Lawrence’s apartment with his new dog Kuma around midnight. Just days earlier, Theroux introduced his new pup to his Instagram followers.
What do they have to do to convince you that they’re happening? They’ve already attended Met Gala parties together. They’ve half-vacationed/half-worked together in the South of France. They’ve hung out in a cabana and got pap’d together. She’s turned up on his Instagram. He dumped Jennifer Aniston soon after he worked with Emma on Maniac. And now they’re going to her friend’s place for dinner in what seems like a “meet the friends” new-couple situation. Emma and Justin are together, people. And it’s super-edgy.

Emma is going to be 30 this year. I highly doubt she views anything over 35 as ancient. I don’t think the age gap is gross, but he, himself is gross.

He’s hot. He’s probably pretty funny based on some of his writing. He’s connected because of his ex… I can see why a young girl like Emma might be into it. I can also see why he’d have trouble with anyone over 30. Once you reach a certain age the skeeze is all you see. Jen had no idea she was with a climber. She thought she found a hidden gem. Nope.
He’s connected because of his ex as you said. Emma is a bigger movie star than both him and his ex who was a big tv star but has never had the kind of movie career Emma has, she doesn’t need him for connections. He doesn’t even seem to be her type as she usually goes for nerdish guys and he comes across like a vain ageing hipster lothario.
Well, he is very intelligent and I’m sure can be uber charming when he wants to be.
I don’t get intelligent he seems to be suffering from a case of arrested development. Immature is what I get. I am almost starting to see him as a sort of Johnny depp figure (I am talking about someone who still dresses and acts as if he was in his 20s or 30s not depps other problems). What I do get is that Emma is a step up for him just like Anniston was a step up from bivens. I don’t see what stone gets out of this, apart from bad publicity, so I guess you might be right that he must have some kind of charm.

Yes and when their name pops up on caller ID I never answer. VM only and I bitchily decide if I want to return the call. The fool doesn’t even realize when he’s being snubbed. My husband doesn’t even pretend to be polite when his number changed he was firm about that guy not getting the new one.
He grates on my nerves. There are few other people like that but this guy just annoys me to the ground.
Blasberg got himself a shot in Oceans 8 too right next to Lauren Santo Domingo at the table with Anne Hathaway. Does he have a real job at all? Is he an ‘influencer’?
I still think Aniston is the one who dumped him. She seems to care so little about all of this, while he is trying so, so hard to literally become more Hollywood than her. LOL. We have not even gotten a counter narrative from Jen at all. If she were truly freaked out about this we would have gotten more legit sourcing than Radar.
In the meantime, Emma Stone is about to step in a huge pile of bad publicity. It’s not like she’s got a huge record of humanitarianism she can counter with. Unless playing an Asian woman counts as being a woman of the world.

Unless Aniston finally learned her lesson that pity parties make you look more ridiculous than sympathetic, and is keeping a low profile accordingly. Smart move on her part.
Aniston gave $1 million to Puerto Rico recovery and $1 million to help launch Times Up. She gave money to Haiti and has spent years raising money for St. Judes.

Theroux seems like a dirt bag, and before anyone gets upset, I am not an Aniston supporter at all. I simply find things he says and does creepy.
I am also not a Stone or Lawrence fan either. I find both “It” girls very marginal in the acting department and think Winter’s Bone and Easy A were their finest acting accomplishments. No, I did not like LaLa Land. I lasted 20 minutes before turning it off.
Easy A was definitely her best film. La La Land was so overrated. Jennifer Lawrence was amazing in Winter’s Bone and pretty much miscast in almost every role since then.
If Theroux wants to use them for PR then they kind of deserve it. It’s pretty clear he used Jen for PR. Maybe they think because they’re younger they won’t suffer the same fate. Good luck with that. Stone will get cheated on in no time.

@NoShame – Ugh, I hate that I know this but I am pretty sure one of JT’s recent IG stories was with his friend Carlos and his wife. I remember it more so because in the video she is visibly pregnant and they were doing like a gender reveal thing where they popped a balloon or something.
I follow JT because of his love of dogs and my fanship for the Leftovers. He’s actually pretty good at putting together IC stories. His recent story as he chronicled the journey of his new rescue pit bull was really good (although roll my eyes at his desire to be perceived as cool most of the time).

Yeah, I agree about Emma and Jennifer. Easy A and Winter’s Bone were fabulous work, but neither has done much of interest since then. Those films show they do have talent though.

Of all the women he’s been linked to since the split only Petra Collins could be considered edgy.

I roll my eyes whenever anyone accuses Jennifer Lawrence of being a mediocre actress. People’s prejudices are really blinding them to what should be completely obvious – that for all her flaws and annoying behaviour, she has real talent and unusual range. (I’m less convinced about Stone, but she’s certainly technically good.)
I am not a fan of any of those people. But it’s fascinating how the comment section on this post is focused on slamming Emma Stone or even bizarrely Jennifer Lawrence. Even in the metoo era somehow women are women’s worst enemy. ( the most tragic thing is people saying Theroux is SO intelligent and talented but the two ladies are not, he’s in his mid 40s and only when he hooked up with an A-lister did he become a mainstream name, at least the two ladies managed to make it without the help of a significant others connections.
People seem to forget Anniston hooked up with Theroux when he was in a long term relationship so whatever it is people think Stone is guilty of, well Anniston did that too. Well said. Not sure why JLaw is being dragged into this. Her only “crime” is she had a party and invited some friends. As for Emma she wasn’t dating Justin when he was married to JAni so why the hate? Successful women seem to generate dislike from other women for some bizarre reason.
