Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin aren’t ‘rushing to the altar,’ they’ll marry next year

Something I keep thinking about a lot: when I was a teenager, it seemed so “grown up” and quite normal to hear about celebrities getting engaged or married in their early 20s. I thought those celebrities were so cool. But now that I’m way past my 20s, I want to yell at these dumb kids for being so dumb. I bring this up because of Justin Bieber, 24, and Hailey Baldwin, 21, and their whirlwind engagement. Reportedly, Justin had been telling everyone who would listen – mostly TMZ – that the next thing on his agenda was the wedding. I truly expected a Bieber-Baldwin wedding in, like, early September. But apparently that’s not going to happen.

Justin Bieber popped the question to Hailey Baldwin a nanosecond after getting back together in June, but we’ve learned they’re not rushing to the altar … not by a long shot. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Justin and Hailey are waiting until sometime next year to tie the knot. We’re told it’s not that they’re unsure … not unlike Miley and Liam, we’re told they feel they’ve made the commitment, and that’s the most important thing.

We’re also told it’s a mistake to view their engagement as jumping the gun. As one solid source told us, “Justin’s been in love with her for a long time, so this didn’t just come from out of the blue.” We’re told there were a number of times — times the public doesn’t know about — when Justin and Hailey got back together. The upshot — everyone thought Selena Gomez was the woman he always wanted, but even when he was with Selena … Hailey was on his brain.

For the love of God. If you just want to shack up together, just do that! You don’t have to drive everybody crazy with a forever-engagement. You don’t have to propose as soon as you want to shack up with someone! THESE KIDS TODAY. I mean, in a way, I guess it’s sort of smart, these forever-engagements. They’re getting lots of attention when they announce the engagement, they get to say they’re committed to each other, and they don’t have to deal with the hassle of divorcing when it all falls apart in a year. As for Hailey always being the one Justin wanted… sure, Jan. I don’t believe that.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they call off the engagement by the end of the year.

    • whatWHAT? says:

MTE. This is not going to last, even until the “wedding”, IMO.

and if they DO get married, I give it less than a year.

  2. LahdidahBaby says:

Yeah, no. No way they will ever marry.

  3. Beth says:

    The marriage will never happen

There were always blind items about how annoying Justin thought Hailey was. Now, I know those are taken with a grain of salt, but for this I believe it. I think he just hooked up with her because she was always there and he thought it could make Selena jealous. I still think if Selena wanted him back at any point, he would leave Hailey. This couple is so boring though, I feel like if this happened a couple years ago more people would be talking about it.

    • Swack says:

Yeah, I thought Selena was his one true love. And he would go back in a “nanosecond” if she gave any indication she would take him back.

A year long engagement is completely normal. It takes a long time to plan a proper wedding. I do think they are too young, but what do I know? I’m way older than them and have never been married.

Is she really a model? Does she do ad campaigns, runway or anything? I’ve seen her on the red carpet and there her posing ability is questionable so i’m curious if she is a model or just the daughter of a celebrity who needs a hobby.

    • me says:

I remember when you had to be much taller to be a model. Now a days because of nepotism the “models” are getting shorter and shorter. I think she’s done some runway stuff but she can’t be that busy as a model since we always see her with Justin. She does host some show with Method Man, but to be honest I’m not sure how she got that gig because her personality just isn’t big enough to host. I don’t know. I guess her last name helps her A LOT.

    • magnoliarose says:

Not really. A lot of that was hype and riding that trend of IG models and nepotism. She has always been very messy and several rungs below the Hadids. Her height does matter in the end and is one of the glaring reasons, beyond the obvious, that she hasn’t been successful.

I think Hailey is gorgeous and sweet and certainly seems more stable than Selena.

I think him and Selena’s last relationship attempt was drama and her family hated him and it was probably a pretty contentious situation all around. Hailey’s family seems accepting of Bieber and because him and Hailey have mostly stayed out of the press/kept things unofficial that they can basically have a clean slate.

I’d just be weary of Bieber’s sudden change of heart towards Hailey – he treated her like a a throw-away hook up and a dirty secret for years. How do you go from such mistreatment to thinking she is the one? I’m confused.

    • L says:

More stable than Selena? Hmm. No. Lol
Mostly stayed off press?? Nope. Make out mania and endless professions of love…. Lack of interest is more like it.

Anyway no matter I wish the both youngsters best of luck.

  8. Pandy says:

Not holding my breath on this wedding

  9. Forreals says:

+1. I think Haley is so much more stable Selena. I hope the Biebs doesn’t hurt her.

  10. magnoliarose says:

I guess the attention high has worn off.

  11. Leigh-Klein says:

Bollocks, you won’t even be speaking to each other next year.

  12. MerrymerrymonthofMay says:

This is a rebound relationship for Justin that went too far, now he doesn’t know what to do. Reminds me of Seinfeld’s George Costanza who was willing to go the distance and marry a woman he didn’t love just to prove he could “commit!”

  13. Louise177 says:

Since when is a year a marathon engagement? Most people including celebrities wait at least that long.

  14. Luci Lu says:

Every time I see photos of them, she looks scared shitless that he won’t marry her, and he looks like he has no intentions of marrying anybody.
