People: Robert Pattinson’s “messy love life” > Walter Cronkite

peoplecover
This week’s magazines covers have come out, and Robert Pattinson “won” two big ones. People Magazine decided that Pattz’s “Messy Love Life” was more important than a cover tribute to Walter Cronkite, which is truly shocking. I suppose People thought that they’d wade into to Twihard-fanatic fan base for new readership that would otherwise go to OK!, who seems to put something Pattz-related on their cover every other week. Speaking of, OK!’s cover is a picture of Kristen Stewart looking sultry and Pattz staring down at her longingly with the headline “Rob and Kristen Unite! Steamy Nights Together”. Because I guess OK! couldn’t fit “Kristen Stewart nails sparkly Pattz to the wall: K-Stew hits it and quits it” in the limited space.

But first, back to People. They haven’t released the text of the cover story, but Cover Awards is claiming that the story basically says, “while there are a ton of rumors, People confirms Robert Pattinson has eyes for one girl – Kristen Stewart.” After People Magazine put a bikini-clad Jennifer Love Hewitt on the cover with the words “Don’t Call Me Fat!”, my mother confided in me that she was thinking about cancelling her subscription, she was so embarrassed to be a People devotee. I think I’m probably going to get an earful about this Pattz one too. Something along the lines of “Who is this boy and why does his hair look like that?”

Now, back to OK! and sparkly vampire sex. The gist of the story is that Pattz and K-Stew are going to “reunite” for Comic-Con to promote … you know, vampires or whatever. They claim that after Pattz has been bangin’ his Remember Me costar Emilie de Raven for weeks, K-Stew is hellbent on winning Pattz back:

In what is perhaps one of the summer’s most eagerly anticipated events, Twilight dream couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will finally be reunited at Comic-Con International in San Diego, which starts July 23. And fans of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling vampire book series aren’t the only ones anxious about the pairing: For weeks, Kristen has sat back while Rob continues to get cozy with his Remember Me co-star Emilie de Ravin.

But now Kristen is determined to win back her leading man.

“Kristen’s got too much going for her to come in second,” a source close to the 19-year-old actress tells OK!. “She really cares for Rob, and if he still feels the same, she wants their relationship to progress. The Comic-Con reunion will be a real test.”

However, R-Pattz’s chemistry with Emilie hasn’t escaped Kristen, either.

“She’s seen photos of them sitting with Emilie’s hands resting tenderly on Rob’s arm, and she sees the way Emilie looks at Rob,” says the source.

Although Kristen was initially going to avoid Comic-Con, her pals, including Runaways and New Moon co-star Dakota Fanning, have convinced her to not only show up, but to fight for him with everything she has.

“Her friends are insisting she look as hot as she can when she and Rob see each other so he will fall head over heels with her all over again,” says the pal. “And Kristen is taking their advice to heart. She asked her Runaways stylist to find her a sexy sundress and a couple of great outfits to wear at the convention. She wants to look so amazing that Rob won’t be able to take his eyes off her.”

Will Emilie show up at Comic-Con? Where will Rob head after San Diego? Pick up the new issue of OK! — on sale everywhere Thursday, to find out!

[From OK! Magazine]

Meanwhile, back to reality: neither Pattz nor K-Stew has ever really confirmed anything about their relationship. Granted, I think most of us believe that something is going on, and most likely that something involves sparkles, penetration and perhaps some gentle biting. Okay, I kind of cracked myself up with that one. Anyway, I’ve said it before – K-Stew isn’t the kind of girl to “fight” for any guy’s attention. That girl has the “f-ck you” glare of a player. Don’t hate the game, Pattz!

Yes, goes to show what this world is coming to when Rpatz’s love life takes center stage over a broadcast journalism great.

Aren’t all of Hollywoods’ love lives “messy?” Especially at their age?
Why is this worth bumping Cronkite?

    People suck.

It’s People – not giving a cover tribute to Cronkite isn’t shocking, because it’s not going to connect with their target audience who buys their magazine. He was very important, but not in entertainment, which is basically what People focuses on now. It’d be ‘shocking’ if Time had a Robert Pattinson cover with Cronkite on the sidebar, but not People.

Can’t believe People bumped Cronkite into that corner so some fetus could have the cover. Dumb, dumb, dumb move on People’s part. POOR FORM!

Are you serious? I bet you 95% of the people that read/buy those type of magazines don’t even know WHO Walter Cronkite is, much less the twihadrds or whatever they’re called.

Just shows what a rag People has become over the years.

I hope Time will put Cronkite on a cover once again for a respectful farewell. The last time they did was in 1966. They should dedicate a whole issue to him.

Ugh, you can thank Summit Studios for this. They were the ones who gave Kristen Stewart strict orders to keep her “dates” with her boyfriend away from the public eye and paparazzi because pictures of her with her bf send the Twihards’ already fragile psyche into a tizzy. Twihards are so delusionsal and believe that only “Edward and Bella” can be together.

I mean, read some of these message boards! They crucify Michael Angarano (her bf) just for dating her when he has done NOTHING douchey or wrong (that has been documented anyway.)

Summit relies on the Twihards and their craziness to sell the movie (Their preferred method of showing adoration IS asphyxiation…) so all these stories coming out are just to get the Twihards excited for Comic-Con and subsequently, the movie, when these “lovers will be reunited!!!”

    Snort.

The People article should have been called “His messy life”. This kid Pattinson looks like he’s in dire need of a bath and some sobering up in every picture I’ve seen of him. Is looking like you’re unkempt and hung over supposed to be sexy now? Dude, please comb your hair at least!

People is a rag for giving this twit more cover space than Cronkite, one of the country’s greatest newsmen.

It is very sad but people has really changed lately. Is someone new in charge? The last week cover “From divorce to dating in 22 days” was really tabloid like and now this! I have noticed that their stories are also very tabloid. Jessica Simpson and a friend talking about her family and how sad she is. That just wasn’t like them a few weeks ago. They obviously must be going down in sales and trying something new. SAd

@Laura you are right! i have seen some pictures of kristen & her bf at italy while filming new moon & rob was there hanging out with them. Robert & kristen are NOT dating. And then Summit studios is doing this “Rob-&-Kristen-love-each-other-just-like-Bella-&-Edward” to grab attention from the fans, its call PUBLICITY but twifans or twiwhatevers dont see that.

People need to understand body language. During press conference and fans conference at Comic Con, it was clear that they are just actors hanging out together because they are in the same film. This article is idiotic. Kristen was not wearing anything specially sexy “to win” Robert back. They are just actors doing their craft. Be a real journalist and write a real story!

I have to agree with everyone else. People Magazine has always been the one magazine I could trust to print the truth. Walter Cronkite’s life long achievements should have been remembered on the cover. I love Twilight series and can’t wait for the next movie but everyone is going to have to back off Rob and Kristen. These people have way too much pressure and honestly didn’t everyone learn by what the media did to Michael Jackson and Britney Spears! That’s right People Magazine lets go out and try to ruin some more people’s lives!
