Eddie Cibrian’s ex: He’s a toxic, shallow man only interested in LeAnn’s money

wenn578754
At first, I thought this report from the Enquirer was just going to be full of quotes from random unnamed sources claiming to be friends with LeAnn Rimes. I was in for a rude, yet not unpleasant awakening. The Enquirer has an exclusive interview with Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife (and mother of his two sons) Brandi Glanville, and she’s still got a mouth on her. It’s wonderful. A month ago, Brandi was giving interviews all over the place, telling everybody who’d listen that Eddie was a compulsive liar, an absentee father, a cheater and a homewrecker, and that Eddie and LeAnn “deserve each other”. After the initial flurry of interviews, Brandi got quiet and seemed to be playing a different game. I thought she was really going to give this whole “amicable divorce” thing a go, but it looks like that was just a pipe dream. Brandi has a message for LeAnn: Eddie just wants your money, moron.

LeAnn Rimes’ lover Eddie Cibrian is after her money – that’s the warning from LeAnn’s close friends AND Eddie’s estranged wife!

But LeAnn, who’s worth an estimated $35 million, doesn’t seem to care, say insiders.

“Now that the excitement of the cheating is over, what else could there be? It’s the bank account,” Eddie’s soon-to-be ex Brandi Glanville told the Enquirer in an exclusive interview. “I know she’s spending money on expensive gifts like jewelry and vacations on him.”

Brandi says one of the places LeAnn has been spoiling Eddie is at the altra-expensive chic jewelry store Chrome Hearts.

“He might be pretty on the outside, but he’s toxic on the inside,” Brandi added. “He’s a shallow, shallow man.”

When pals have warned LeAnn that Eddie sees her as little more than a fat wallet, the singer has responded: “I’m a big girl, I know what I’m doing,” according to a source.

But even Eddie’s pals have said the actor has dollar signs in his eyes. When one complimented Eddie on the matching his-and-hers mountain bikes LeAnn had purchased, Eddie laughed and said: “Yeah, I’m working my way up to a Ferrari!” revealed one of his friends.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, October 12 2009]

Hot damn, right? I love this kind of juicy interview. I’m now revising my opinion of Brandi once again – a few days ago I thought she was angling to piss off LeAnn by being more conciliatory to Eddie, but now I think Brandi is still out for blood. As for what Brandi’s actually saying – well, I’ll buy that Eddie is a “shallow, shallow man” and that he’s mostly interested in being with a LeAnn because she can support him financially. Especially after Brandi takes his dumb ass to the cleaners. However, I don’t think Brandi should be offering this kind of “advice” to LeAnn – Brandi should stick with her earlier “they deserve each other” instincts.

LeAnn Rimes is seriously worth 35mil? No way on earth. When was the last time she had a big hit? Eh, then again, I don’t listen to country music. But still, I don’t think she’s worth THAT much.

  2. princess pea says:

Brandi should stfu. Every time she opens her mouth to bash randomly, she makes herself look weaker and more insecure. Which she probably is; most people feel pretty crappy when their spouse cheats and leaves. I’m fairly sure LeAnn and Eddie don’t care what she thinks, so it’s obvious she is just looking for public support. Which she will start losing soon, by making herself look desperate.

  3. dude says:

Brandi needs to take a look at Kate Gosslin & learn to take the high road. She looks like Nikki Cox post lip injections/bad plastic surgery. Im sure it hurts when your husband leaves you for a younger, one time successful singer. Leann is talented & im sure she can make back whatever she blows on this cheater!

  4. Roma says:

@GatsbyGal: Royalties, baby. Considering she accused her dad and manager of stealing around 7 million, she has some money coming in. Though most of her hits were covers or songs not written by her so that does lessen how much she’ll earn.

That’s why Mariah is an astute business woman; she has at least a cowritting credit on every song. And that’s why you see the Madonna’s / Cher’s of the world continuing to tour as their age climbs… no song writing royalties.

  5. Jack says:

LeAnn is a wealthy woman and the amount doesn’t really matter. I have a lot of empathy for Brandi but I wish she would stop talking like this. I understand her pain and disgust with Eddie but making it sound like she’s warning LeAnn doesn’t wash. I’m sure Brandi can’t stand Rimes. I think what all this means is that Brandi knows the final nail is about to be driven and she has to lash out one last time. Its understandable but it gives ammunitition to Rimes PR team.

  6. oxa says:

I know she is hurt but she would do better to shut her pie hole, let him marry LeAnn THEN file for more child support. California law takes into account the income of the parent AND their new spouse. If she plays this right she could be doing far nicer financialy than from Eddie alone.

  7. Guest says:

    well duh.

  8. voodoobetty says:

No matter what she thinks or feels about her ex or how much of a douche he acts, Brandi needs to remember that he is the father to her children and every word she speaks of him to the press is being recorded and can be read by her children at some point. And no matter how he treated her it is not necessarily and indicator of the relationship he may have with his children. It is up to them to come to their own conclusions about their father. A little dignified silence is in order. Thats what girlfriends are for, going out , having a few martinis and slagging off the ex. NOT where the kids can hear~

  9. crash2GO2 says:

Reminds me of how much I wish I could put a bug in my ex’s new wife’s ear. For her sake. She’s a doll and my ex is a loser.

  10. Becky says:

I know the saying in Hollywood is “good or bad publicity doesn’t matter, just spell my name right” but I’m totally confused. Even if only a fraction of what the tabs report is true, LeAnn and Eddie look pathetic. Men have been “buying” trophy wives since the begining of time and now everything I read about LeAnn is that she is buying a trophy husband. She seems to relish the thought of this purchase. Trophy husbands are not for making families or for caring and loving partners so what the hell is LeAnn doing? LeAnn finds every opportunity for a photo-op and Eddie doesn’t want to be seen with her. There is a strong concensus that if Eddie isn’t already cheating, he will be shortly and Rimes is either oblivous to this or just accepts the fact that they’ll have an open marriage. Other than keeping the publicity alive, what possible purpose can this image of a demented relationship have?

  11. ASea says:

Hmmmm. Well, I think women who date married men are of questionable character. I don’t believe a women can “wreck” a home that wasn’t already fragile, BUT its’ still wrong to inject yourself into someone elses union! It’s so trashy.

I love when ex’s talk ish!! I say keep talking. Treat people right and you dont have to worry about being thrashed in the press…

At the same time, I know Leann is having a ball, and honestly I wanna high five her. She was having sex with a puny gay man for 8 years and now she get to have Eddie FRIKKIN Cibrian every night. Wowza!! He is beyond hot. Maybe she’s not as dumb as she looks. Maybe she’s the one using HIM….

  12. danielle says:

Not sure what this says about Brandi since she was married to him, and apparently wanted him to dump LeAnn and stay with her. But I don’t think Brandi’s wrong. LeAnn’s had country hits for along time, and some cross over hits, she had a few big songs that were in movies – bet she’s loaded.

  13. Jackie says:

    @Becky @Asea
I’m wondering what Rimes is up to as well. I think she’s sexually addicted to this guy but her vanity seems to be in control. They’ve been doing it for 9 months now so the sex is becoming routine for Eddie. A trophy husband is a vanity rush but when he cheats or dumps her in a year all that vanity will smack her right in the face. She’ll be a laughing stock. I think Rimes is a very smart woman but has she convinced herself that she is going to change Eddie? Vanity is a two edge blade that can convince one of their invincibility.

  14. Bill says:

Jackie, you do not understand guys like Eddie. The reason his mistresses are in their 20’s is because they perform for him and the sex doesn’t become routine for quite a while. Imagine LeAnn being introduced at one of her more stylish concerts and as she walks on stage basking in the ovation, Eddie watches from the wings with a gloating smirk on his face. As the music comes up and a hush smoothers the applause LeAnn begins to sing either, “I just smoked a Cuban cigar” or LeAnn’s favorite rendition of her MTV performance “I have Jazzz in my panties”.

  15. gungho says:

The thread got off to a good start then trailed off. Maybe it was lunchtime when put up.

  16. Ana says:

Roma- Do singers not get royalities for songs preformed by them?
I know it would be better to have both but still….shouldn’t royaltiies from one be enough?

  17. Deb says:

Yep he’s in love with her wallet.
I think Leann’s about to learn the hard way.

  18. Feebee says:

Brandi was pretty keen to keep a hold of Eddie but I’m wondering why if he was as bad as she’s saying. He didn’t suddenly become as shallow as a petrie dish overnight. Other than that I have no objections to interviews like this. I’m sick of the little woman having to be a good girl so the a**hole gets a relatively free pass publicly. There’s more than enough material between Brandi and Mary Jo for a second First Wives Club movie and please don’t bother making it a comedy.

  19. Deb says:

I think his true colors finally emerged.
A narcissist is very very good @ fooling people, throw in some sociopathic tendencies and there ya go. These people are capable of fooling their own families for years. I absolutely agree he is toxic and as shallow as a puddle.

@ feebee couldn’t have said it better

  20. JJ says:

I knew she bought him. However, she doesn’t have enough money to keep him. When you look back at all the vile behavior by the Jerk and the Smirk, can fully understand BG’s frustration. You go girl!

  21. Deb says:

@ voodoo….Brandi can say whatever the H*ll she wants. Did Eddie care that he had 2 kids when the crap hit the fan? NO HE DID NOT. Did Eddie care after stating that he was a “loving and devoted” father, crying for privacy and then allowing Mexico pics w/Leann to be plastered all over the place? NO HE DID NOT. Eddie loves Eddie PERIOD. If he had the well being of his kids at heart he would have done a whole lot of things differently like NOT PUBLICLY HUMILIATING your wife and kids and telling your meal ticket to keep it on the down low. He did none of these things. He’s Douche

  22. Roma says:

@Ana – When singers have their song played, they get a royalty. As do songwriters.

Now think about how often as song gets covered by a different artist. Or gets sampled. These royalties go to the songwritter(s) and not the original performer.

If you look at older singers that continue to tour again and again, chances are they didn’t write their biggest hits.

  23. Deb says:

No offense Ellen but I am sure David Letterman has his own board on this site.
This is the “Leann’s a meal ticket and Eddie is as shallow as a puddle” board.

  24. Jason says:

    @ellen
Please Ellen, you are far to intelligent to get involved in this scrable. I know it is tempting. You are someone with something to say but even though we differ I want to read it when you articulate a sound point. This continuous blaber (not your blaber) in distracting me from the quality of your opinions.

  25. Jill says:

I haven’t seen LeAnn for a while. It must be moving week.

  26. Deb says:

Oh I’m sure she’ll pop up soon like an evil Genie

  27. voodoobetty says:

@ Deb there is something to be said for taking the high road which is what she needs to do. Just because he didnt put his childrens best interests first doesnt mean she shouldnt. I dont deny her the right to be spiteful and hateful toward him but she needs to avoid influencing her childrens view of their father or they WILL resent her for it. trust me, I speak from experience.

  28. Beth says:

Wow, this stuff just keeps going so here’s my two cents. Eddie and LeAnn best be careful with Brandi. If she decides to contest the divorce or sues for abandonment or what ever, LeAnn’s wedding could be a year off. If Brandi contests, Eddie’s phone and text records could come out in open court and LeAnn will pay dearly to prevent that. I mean 50 txts a day would show stalker tendencies. In any case, I’m sure Eddie is whinning to LeAnn about what Brandi wants so LeAnn will pony up some money for him. Remember Brandi, when you have him by the coconuts, his heart, mind, and wallet will follow.

  29. Firestarter says:

For someone being so toxic and terrible, she sure wasn’t leaving him over those qualities before the affair scandal broke loose. She needs to calm the eff down and be glad, if he is all the things she claims, that she is getting rid of the dude. Seriously, quit bitching about it, worry about the children and put your energies there, instead of wasting needless time and effort dogging the father of her children.

  30. Beth says:

    @ellen
Wow miss ellen you really are into this situation having discussed the potential of the case with lawyers in your family. I mean this as no dig, it is just interesting to me how this seems to be a never ending story.

  31. Kerry says:

I check in on this story every few days just to keep up and it seems to be dieing. I have not seen Miss Rimes picture for almost a week. Jill implied she is moving. Does that me we will not see her shopping or jogging or doing all the other fascinating things? Obviously, we need another scandal.

  32. Jason says:

    HEY ELLEN ARE YOU THERE?

I just checked back to the Sep. 29 Cele/bitchy and Brandi posted twice. The last one was today Oct 2. stating that Eddie cancelled all the credit cards. On the earlier post she talks about Eddie being toxic which is before this story I think. Do you think its possible that is really Brandi?

  33. Jason says:

Brandi, if by chance you are reading this stuff I hope you will soon get beyond it because that means you are healing. I’m a guy but a very empathic person and my heart aches for you. Please let us vent your anger at LeAnn and Eddie. You must hold your position of class. I have found no support for Eddie and I hope LeAnn experiences what you have. You must hold your position of class. Those who attack you are most disgusting to me but then they are incredibly pathetic people. If you read this, please tell me that you have a big and strong support system, parents, true friends, in-laws, or others who are with you through this terrible time. I want to know you are being comforted. If I could help, I would. You’re in my thoughts.

  34. Deb says:

Jason I don’t think Brandi would post that Eddie canceled the credit cards. If she was going to post it would probably something along the lines of him cleaning out the bank accounts. Which would make him look even worse if that were possible. Who knows….

  35. mrbaskums says:

If they do it with ya, they’ll sure as heck do it to ya

  36. Kathie says:

Dear Brandi: The view is way better from the high road, try taking it. Your feet stay dry, the air is cleaner, you get more of the sunshine and have the real respect of your children, family and friends. Additionally as you are watching your ex and his paramour walk off a cliff while continuing on the low road you have the pleasure of saying “tsk, tsk, how sad poor things” and comforting your kids while looking like a hero.

  37. eternalcanadian says:

Wow, all the people telling Brandi to shut the eff up sure sound like they are Team LeAnn and Eddie. Way to go for supporting people that cheated on their spouses. Let Brandi rant all she wants. Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned and guys should take heed when they wave their pecker around.

  38. sunseeker says:

    kathie

Well said, but it is not always easy when you have been humiliated, but yes i agree.

  39. JJ says:

LR paid off husband number one and is in the process of PURCHASING husband number two. Is it to early to start calling EC, MR. Leann Rimes? Let’s total it up so far: One trip to Mexico, Diamond bracelet (let ’em think he bought it), dirt bikes, plane tickets, assorted clothes and jewelry…yep, he’s sold his soul to LR. Hey Brandi, take the high road so you can look down at these to clowns, especially when LR finds him cheating and have a good laugh.

  40. betty says:

Cibrian trashed his marriage, his kids, his wife for trailer trash. Rimes stated in an article she was classy. Yes,Jerry Springer type of class. If Brandi trashed Rimes and Cibrian she was only telling the trashy truth. One cannot make a trashy situation classy. Action speaks louder than words. Respectability is the key. Neither showed respect for their mates and that’s inexcuseable.

  41. cbme says:

Oh, girls, girls, call all the nasty names you can think of, make up all the bad sentences you want to. You cannot change one thing that is going to happen or that has happened. Trailer trash runs their mouth a lot and says nothing just like some other folk we know. It is pretty evident that the ex can’t do anything about what is happening either. Only the two involved can handle this situation. Get over it.
