Perhaps we should just get it out of our systems before we even start. Say it with me now: “EEWWW!” Do you feel a little better? Yeah, me neither. Here’s the story the Enquirer is trying to sell us: there are sex tapes of David Letterman and a female staffer out there, and Letterman fears the tapes could destroy his career. But wait! It gets even more dry heave-ier (I made up that word, and I like it. It’s apt.). According to the Enquirer’s sources, the “sex tapes” are actually studio surveillance tapes, and they could be introduced at Joe Halderman’s trial. Ugh.
Scandal-plagued talk-show host David Letterman has been rocked by a shocking new bombshell – reports of a sex tape showing him with a female staff member.
A studio surveillance tape reportedly caught the 62-year-old star and a much-younger female co-worker in a compromising position – and it could shatter Letterman’s already troubled marriage, say sources.
What’s more, the tape could persuade worried CBS execs to hammer the final nail into the talk-show host’s late-night career – and could play a key role in the trial of the producer who allegedly tried to blackmail him.
“If the tape makes its way into the criminal case, it’ll explode his marriage to smithereens,” revealed a close source.
“It’s one thing for him to have publicly admitted to having had sexual relations with some women on his staff. It’s another to see him in the throes of passion with one of those women.
“Dave apparently didn’t know the location of the security cameras at his Late Show studio.”

See, it’s not that I even think David Letterman is gross. I actually find him attractive in that sort of “If he was my boss, I wouldn’t mind if he tried to have sex with me” way. But seeing him actually engaged in sexual acts… shiver. As far as the veracity of this story, I don’t know. I don’t doubt that CBS has security cameras all over the place, and I also don’t doubt that Letterman was probably having sex with at least one staffer (probably more) at the studio. But the whole thing just seems too impossibly sordid. I hope it’s not true.

One has to wonder of the timing of it all. Dave was kicking ratings butt for the first time in a long while, right?
Maybe Conan O’Brien had something to do with it, LOL. Conan isn’t doing very well in Jay Leno’s spot…
In any way, I don’t have much of an opinion on this subject. Dave didn’t register on my radar until very recently — here in South Africa we only got to see Jay & Conan (on NBC). Dave’s show is a recent addition to our satellite TV line-up.

Gagging on my coffee – the mental picture of DL in some grainy security video doing the dirty is barf-inducing. My opinion of him is dropping faster than Pamela Anderson’s underwear and I imagine his marriage won’t be able to withstand this.

Anyone who doesn’t know where the security cameras are in their office is just pork stupid. It’s not like most companies want to spend the money to hide them, and if they do it’s usually one of those dark plexi bubbles. It’s not like they’re hard to spot!

Wow Tess. Is there more to the story you’d like to share? Or are you referencing it’s karma for how he treated his wife/longtime partner? I am not being sarcastic, I’d really like to know.
Personally, I don’t care one way or another about what happens to Dave. I don’t watch any of the late night guys. And the grossness that has come to light about Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel makes me even less inclined to do so.

Ams, no doubt he is savvy, but there are ways (legal and illegal) around a prenup. Plus when you throw a kid into the mix, it can get very messy very quickly.

Back in the day, when anybody might have been interested in seeing my arse, they would’ve had to drag in one of those old-timey cameras with the exploding flash to get a shot. All you crazy kids with your new fangled technology have to be extremely careful. Literally the entire world can have access to images within seconds. And it can NEVER, (EVER) be undone.
