Michael Lohan: Lindsay will die like her “close friend” Heath Ledger

celebs_lakers_game_4_wenn2632744
Michael Lohan has taken his “Lindsay Lohan is an addict, now pay attention to me” tour to the British press. In a new interview in Grazia (story via NYDN), Michael says that Lindsay could be “dead in a year…It could be a year, a month, a week - who knows? She has a plethora of medicine you can’t mix and can’t drink with.” Michael goes on: “She needs long-term rehab. I fear the worst. Look at Elvis, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger - who was a close friend of hers.” Ah, yes. Because he cares about his daughter’s health so much, he still wants to make sure that her “death” is mentioned in the same breath as Heath Ledger’s. Because that’s not cheap, disgusting or tawdry at all. This family is so gross.

Meanwhile, Monday night Lindsay gave Radar an interview about her plans for the future. Of course, they’re not long-term plans, because we know Lindsay and her “allergies” don’t make long-term plans. Lindsay’s plan is for the next few weeks - she’s going to visit India. As part of a BBC documentary team making a film about child trafficking. Maybe the BBC is just going to see if Lindsay is going to bring 15-year-old Ali and accidentally “traffic” her for some “allergy medicine”:

Lindsay Lohan is committed to turning over a new leaf. The actress recently revealed that she will be headed to India on a charity trip.

“I’m going to India. Actually before Thanksgiving hopefully,” Lohan said at the Rock the Kasbah event in Los Angeles on Monday night. Though her mother Dina is nervous about the international jaunt, Lohan is set on going: “I think it’s important to have a voice when you have one.” She also revealed that she will be part of a BBC documentary about child trafficking in India.

Lindsay is going on the trip with Interface which is an organization that aims to leverage the power of business and celebrity for the benefit of high-impact charities.

“Lindsay has been a great supporter of Interface,” founder Scott Lazerson told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Next week we’re working on the launch of the My Bag Equals campaign. Lindsay’s donation of a Chanel bag equals feeding 1, 000 families.”

[From Radar]

Poor India. Seriously, those Indians aren’t going to know what hit them when Hurricane Crackhead comes to town. They’ll be wishing Jessica Simpson and her BFF Ken Paves were still around. And what in God’s name is happening at the BBC? What cracked-out producer thought it would be a good idea to have Lindsay be a part of a project about such a serious subject?

  1. ooo I was peeved when I read the header, but you’ve got it covered. Doesn’t deserve to be mentioned with Heath. There is a good chance Ali will traffic herself if it’s on camera.

How bout a ban on all things Lohan for awhile? Wouldn’t want Sr. to blame us when his cash cow bites it next week or next month!

  2. I saw on the news this morning that she got a tattoo that says something like “stars we only ask for our right to shine” (I’m paraphrasing as I don’t exactly remember) I hope she got it across her ass where it belongs.

  3. I second a ban on Lohan news. If something big happens I want to know about it but otherwise I’m for banning.

  4. I’m for banning too. It’s working in Paris Hilton’s case…seems like the media are ignoring her more and more lately.

  5. She donated a Chanel bag? I wonder where she stole it from…

I’m totally behind a Lindsay ban too.

  6. I’m not a big fan of Michael Lohan’s parenting but I gotta say -he’s the only one out there telling the truth (as he feels it) about his daughter and and trying to push her (in his own way) into rehab.
This (public talking) may be (in his mind and in reality) his only avenue (even if he enjoys the spotlight).
If I was much younger, I’d see Michael as a PARENT only and would be expecting different behavior.
But, I’m older, and I see Michael as a person -flaws and all, one who’s f’d up and trying (in his mind) to do/be good with all he feels he’s learned. He’s a recovering mess trying to help his daughter recover from her mess.
    I see the struggle.
So, I can’t be too critical about him not being Ward Cleaver.
He’s trying and seems to be the only one. He may not be doing it textbook right, but he’s doing something and may not have another game plan/way.
It’s his daughter and he’s watching her drown.
My heart goes out to all parents, including Michael, who struggle with an effective way to get their offspring off drugs.

  7. If you don’t ban Lindsay, how ’bout just banning Michael Lohan?

  9. “I think it’s important to have a voice when you have one.”

What the hell does that mean? Anyway, about the India thing… I’m sure she is just lying. Remember those puppies she adopted a few years ago? Or the album she was recording? Or that tango movie she was filming?

  10. Oh man India? Seems like everyone uses India as an excuse - first Kanye now Lindsay. I am from India, and I think Lindsay is a star there, not crackhead. I don’t think negative news about “stars” is reported the same way as in the US - hence there are still Paris fans internationally.

  15. should he do like dina and turn a blind eye??? Everyone with eyes can see that lindsay needs help and anyone that tries to help is pushed out of her cirle…..it happens with so many of these stars, its just tragic. They show loyalty by stayin quiet, but they are not helping the person in question….maybe he tried to do it privately, but was pushed away…how far would you go to save someone u cared about? I mean….he seems annoying but he is the only one speaking the truth about her!!!!

P.S look how many stars have died of an overdose because nobody was willing to speak up or say no to that person….or stand up and tell them they need help, even if it meant loss of freindship…sigh!

  20. Ignore her, no, but –

This barrage of “tough love” would work if it the wasn’t the pot constantly calling the kettle black on tabloid tv and rag mags.

He’s not “exposing” her in any way, we may not know WHAT she’s using, but it’s obvious THAT she’s using. His maniacal display is just making everyone think “I see why/where she gets her crazy from” and giving her pity and even MORE publicity. And his hanging out w/ Gosselin ain’t helping either.

If this is out of love, he needs to get a REAL interventionist or other professional help and switch tactics. And this time her healing should be about HER, not him, not hurrying up and “getting back out there,” and the rest will fall back in line.

  21. He’s grandstanding.

Unless he honestly believes that the twentieth “exclusive interview” detailing his anguish over Lindsay is going to be any more effective than the first five he gave.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he signed with a record label and came out with a single called the “My Daughter’s a Crackhead Blues.” Because, you know, sometimes music can help where Maury Povich interviews fail to get the point across.

  22. Lohan only does things for charity to make herself feel like a better person. She and other vapid celebrities can cast off their last season Chanel bags that they wouldn’t be caught dead with anyway and get told they are feeidng 1,000 people. In the meantime the charity speands hundreds of thousands on a big benefit and first class airfare and lodging to put Lohan up in India, where she dons a sari for 30 minutes for a photo op while standing next to a handful of orphans.

  23. I’m with princess pea! No Lindsay ban! She’s one of my favorite trainwrecks to read about! I wouldn’t mind if I never read another word about her loser father, though. He is an idiot and needs to STFU and go away.

Anyone else notice it looks like the dude’s fly is open in that last pic? Just sayin…

  24. umm, woe be her.

if she dies like heath did, it’ll be all over the news and tabs forever. everyone always has something to say when someone dies.

question? why do people like to use the term accidental overdose? how is it accidental when you combine a variety of pills (you should know are dangerous together if you read the leaflet given to you when you fill the prescription) and take them all at once, or during the same episode?

Report this comment as spam or abuse

  25. NIKKI, I think they call it “accidental” because sometimes, in a drugged-out stupor, a person forgets how many pills they’ve already taken and overdoses. That may not really answer your question, but that is one reason they call it accidental.

  26. I lament the fact that Lindsay has become this sad, pathetic person. I don’t think Michael Lohan is trying to help her as much as he is benefitting in some way off of this. And where is Dina, why isn’t she all over Lindsay like she was when Lindsay was just starting out. Why are they not helping her when she obviously needs it so bad.

I think for people with so much money and opportunities, that her parents should be able to locate someone with the knowledge on how to help her if they cannot do it themselves instead of being famous for knowing someone famous.

Things like this make me so mad that parents after getting rich of their kids just dispose of them in their time of need. While i don’t know the whole story and i am not trying to judge a book by its cover, all i am seeing here is the cover. She may be an adult but one who needs lots of help and direction. They need to take a stronghold whether or not she pushes them away.

  27. Yeah, I know it’s hard being the parent of a celebrity, but do you REALLY want everybody to know that you’re taking side bets on when the kid’s gonna croak?

  28. She might end up dying like Heath Ledger, but I have a feeling the public’s reaction is going to be very different. I cried when Heath Ledger passed away, and still when I think about I get a little teary. If I ever hear the news that Blowhan finally kicked it, I might just laugh.

  29. And his making her synonymous w/ Ledger and the like — Anna Nicole Smith’s OWN SON died in her hopsital room from an overdose, and did not stop her use at all. Some say it fueled it.

This has become more about the messenger than the message.

    He gets a FAIL.

  30. lindsay is nothing like heath ledger, who had real talent, worked hard and was well respected by his peers. but she is very much like anna nicole - trashy, dumb, untalented and laughed at by her peers. as for michael lohan, he is a terrible parent - what kind of parent uses his child’s drug addiction as a stepping stone to his own fleeting fame? disgusting.

  32. Yeah right. Pictures or it didn’t happen.

Edit: I meant Cokey’s trip to India (it’ll never happen), but it works for her “accidental” overdose as well.

Not that I want to compel anybody to suicide, I just think Lohan is too narcissistic to go willingly. She loves the spotlight too much to give it all up so soon. Look for a last ditch effort at relevancy in a couple months - followed by a media campaign detailing how she has overcome her “personal struggles”.

  33. Re: LL’s accidental overdose. I believe she has it planned for 27. Like Marilyn. the only question remains if she cannot accidentally accidental overdose before then. (she’s only 23)
    …..

@NIKKI: I took WAY to many midal once, I wasn’t trying to kill myself, I was trying to stop the cramps. So I woke up and took some, went to work took some more, took some @ lunch, got off -took some more. Then I heard my boyfriends roommate, whom I had never met before, calling him to say there was a cracked out girl on the couch. Those midal screwed me right the **** up!! I looked like a crank bender. Totally an accident. If I didn’t have such a tolerance I would have been in a very bad way. As it was I didn’t ‘come down’ for days.

  34. I think the real issue here is, why are we helping India? India, along with Brazil and China, is one of the world’s fastest growing economies. The US is tanking, and fast. Maybe India should be helping us, because we need it. Bad. But there’s no cachet or cool points in helping the needy in your own country, now is there? Especially not for celebs, who make all their money off of the US market. God forbid they give back to the people who made them rich in the first place….assholes.

As for Michael Lohan…well, I think he is trying to help his daughter in his own way. I really do. But he just doesn’t know how. I believe he had addiction issues, so he should know that Lindsay will not be helped until she admits that she has a problem, which she does not seem willing to do. That is the ONLY real way an addict can stop, is when they are ready to stop. Believe me, I speak from experience.

I don’t want Lindsay to die…I like her for some reason but I also dislike her as well, but I understand that all this acting out and drug use is indicative of deeper issues that MUST be addressed, or she will end up dead, and soon. But only Lindsay can take that step. Michael cannot do it for her, and perhaps doing it in the public eye is not the best tactic, but I think he is desperate to do SOMETHING, because he must see what is happening here. So maybe we shouldn’t be too hard on him….

  35. I don´t see the struggle.

If Michael really really really wanted to help he already had her committed or whatever. This is just keeping his name in the news. Its stupid.

And do NOT mock the death of Heath.
