I don’t know what to make of these pictures of Rihanna. She’s in London right now, and these photos are of RiRi entering her hotel. She’s got a sizable lump above her eye, like somebody slammed her head-first into a wall or something. I’m hoping that it’s just something innocuous, like she was considering an eyebrow ring and it got infected or something. That was my first thought, actually – “infected piercing”. Something is definitely up.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is in London to promote her album, Rated R, which is out next week. From the reports, I think Jay-Z is in town too, and they’re going to be performing together. Rihanna told the British media that “London is one of my favorite cities, it’s where I get most of my creative energy- we made a lot of the album here.”
Speaking of, has everyone seen Rihanna’s new music video for “Russian Roulette”? It’s a little heavy for a Monday morning, but it’s definitely interesting. Many thought the lyrics (and the title) to “Russian Roulette” were totally iffy, but I can understand that Rihanna’s got a process, and she’s trying to work some sh-t out through her music. Anyway, here’s the video:

This story really makes me feel sorry for Rhianna. People get bruises all of the time for tripping, playing sports, etc. But from now on if Rhianna gets a bruise it’s being reported as the possibility as somebody slamming her head against the wall or a mystery bruise and something wrong is going on.

Rihanna has naturally prominent eyebrow bones. You can even see how puffy they are in the Russian Roulette video. Not much of a story here.

I would go with you on this one Kaiser – looks like a piercing. In the top photo you can even see two small puncture marks like those from an earring.
Its sad to think that this CB beating thing will always be around her and one of the first things people think of when something looks off.

Well, I heard this song last week for the first time, and now the video. I’m troubled by the glamourization of risk-taking, potentially self-destructive victimhood situations. I realize she’s working stuff out, but there are a lot of less-than-discerning people out there who will misinterpret a very troubling video. And in a society where there is too much gun-play, do we really need to hear gunshots in our music?

Didn’t she have an eyebrow piercing? I have a friend who had one as well and it got infected and produced a lump very similar to Rihanna’s. So there’s that.

I have a fatty lump above one of my eyes, in about the same place, under my eyebrow, have had it since birth. It’s almost never noticeable but once in a while at an odd angle in specific light it’s super noticeable in photos, maybe something similar here…

I’m with Kerri on the infected piercing. It’s not her “eyebrow bone” – LOL at whoever said that!! That would be a pretty prominent bone!! *shaking head laughing*
I found the video interesting. What a breathtakingly gorgeous woman. Too bad the voice is not as impressive as her looks. Maybe with a little more training, who knows. I’ll definitely be curious to follow her career and see how things go for her.

This story is seriously reaching for nothing there… camera flash, her facial structure, she’s looking down… all equal really prominent shadows. My own collar bones can look all skeletal if I’m posing wrong and someone has a horrible flash on a camera. This is considered news?

My first thought was also that it’s an infected piercing. She’s got lots of tattoos, so why not an eyebrow piercing? Infected piercings can come in all shapes and colours, and can get pretty fucking huge.
