Kelly Osbourne makes it to DWTS final, needs surgery on her foot (spoilers)

Fan favorite Kelly Osbourne is going to the finals on “Dancing with the Stars.” The famous daughter of Ozzy Osbourne battled some extreme nerves and stage fright during the show, which was obvious to everyone. However instead of working against her it ultimately worked in Kelly’s favor. Although she didn’t come up in the top three by the judges’ scores, she did with the fans, which is what ultimately counts. Everyone loves an underdog.

She’s battled crippling nerves, a painful foot injury, and the death of her pet dog to compete in Dancing With The Stars, but it seems that the hard work has paid off for Kelly Osbourne. The 25-year-old won a place in the final of the U.S. reality show last night, after proving a favourite with viewers. Her place had seemed doubtful after she finished third in judges points on the leader board following Monday’s performance.

But viewers votes gave her an unexpected entry into the final. Len Goodman said: ‘Kelly for me has taken dancing into her heart and in doing so has entered all of our hearts – she has been wonderful.’ Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne congratulated their daughter as did British singer Leona Lewis, who performed her hit single Happy on the results night. RnB singer Mya and her partner Dmitry Chaplin were the first of three couples to make it into the last week of the competition.

When Donny Osmond and partner Kym Johnson became the second pairing to make it through Kelly looked visibly dejected. But in a shock elimination viewers chose to send Derek Hough and Joanna Krupa home – despite the couple having much higher scores than Kelly and dance partner Louis van Amstel. ‘What Louis and I have achieved in this show is the impossible really,’ Kelly said. ‘Last night was the most fun I’ve ever had on the dance floor.’

Good for Kelly. I don’t know why, but she’s one of those celebrities I’m always rooting for. Not just in competition, but in life in general. She can be annoying and spoiled, but it seems like she’s honest about everything and I find that really refreshing. Unfortunately, as a result of all her hard work on Dancing with the Stars, Kelly’s going to have to get foot surgery. Turns out she has flat feet and bunions, and while she’s always refused surgery for them in the past, all that dancing made her feet a lot worse and now it’s unavoidable. It sounds like she’s in a great deal of discomfort, with shooting pains up and down her legs. It’s pretty impressive that she’s done so well despite all the obstacles – and I’m guessing she’ll win.

Flat feet, bunions and an underbite. Poor girl.

  2. Firestarter says:

I lost out in the money pool I am in, but my parents are still alive having bet on Kelly and Donny.

Mya will probably take the glitter ball trophy, but I would kinda be happy to see either Donny or Kelly win..
Thank God they got Joanna Krupa off. Her constant kissing up to the judges and her sappy ways bugged me.

I have liked Kelly. It was nice to see Ozzie last night rocking out to the BeeGees!

  3. Megan says:

she looks great! i’m always rooting for her, too. IDK why i like the whole family!

  4. Lantana says:

Is that a real dog? Maybe it’s not even a dog. I am getting blind in my old age. It appears to be something real in that last picture. It’s cute whatever it is.

  5. hmm says:

Crippling nerves, a bad foot, and a dead pet? Her publicist is doing a good job of portraying her as the ultimate underdog instead of the spoiled daughter of rich parents who has never had to lift a finger in her life. I’m sure as soon as the show is over she will go back to being the obnoxious twit she has always been.

  6. stinabelle says:

aw, her dog died? 🙁 sad.

  7. MaiGirl says:

She is kind of spoiled, but I think she has really gone through hell in her drug addiction, and the process of working hard for something, even if it is towards a cheesy mirrorball trophy, has brought out her best qualities. She is an endearing young lady! I’m still rooting for Mya, though 🙂

  8. juiceinla says:

Hurray! I was rooting for her. I hope she wins it all.

  9. Uzi says:

@hmm…Yes, Kelly is “the spoiled daughter of rich parents who has never had to lift a finger in her life.” But during the weeks of competition she overcame her lack of confidence and put in hours of hard work while being in pain to achieve her place in the finals (with the help of her partner Louie and, of course, fan votes). It’s been wonderful watching her blossom. Although I’m rooting for the amazing Mya to win, Kelly deserves a lot of praise for what she’s accomplished on her own. Her rich parents didn’t do it, she did!

  10. TwinkleToes says:

Elephant legs and cankles. Obviously Sharon’s genes. How dare Sharon talk about Susan Boyle.

  11. snowball says:

    @Jillian – rotfl

Poor thing’s got the trifecta, eh? Well, add in her cankles and it’s what, a quad-fecta?

  12. Barb says:

when I heard kelly was going to be on the show, i expected a young cloris leachman – funny, but just there for the humor aspect. instead she’s turned in heartfelt, disarmingly honest and charming performances, and she deserves her spot. joanna krupa was cold and unappealing, and i think she only got as far as she did because derek hough has so many fans. she could dance, but wow, was she soul-less.

  13. Lisa says:

Wow you guys can be so mean. We’re supposed to be judging her dancing, not her life. And she is the underdog, but she has improved so much. No matter what you say it’s not going to change anyones opinions about her. And cankles? She’s no where near fat! She has my vote for sure.

  14. Jillian says:

Snowball- I’m lol at that one. Quad-fecta! HA

  15. Feebee says:

I laughed when Joanna got sent home, one because she’s actually a huge bitch – someone mentioned soul-less, that works too. And two because Kelly’s had to work so hard to just get there every week.

  16. Anna says:

Uhmmm… she WAS in the top 3; Donny was in last place with the judges.

  17. Trillion says:

Mya’s probably been taking dance lessons since babyhood and is a professional. So Kelly is def the underdog and I’ve always liked her, in spite of her immaturity and snottiness. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know.

  18. hmm says:

Uzi, with all due respect I disagree. There have been how many references to her parents during the show? No matter how much people say she’s improved, very few people are voting for her because of her dancing. And I agree with Chris Rock that you don’t get credit for doing things you’re supposed to do. You’re not supposed to do drugs and she isn’t valiant or a heroine or a role model because she quit. I am so sick of these spoiled and entitled people like her, the Hiltons, and the Kardashians who get things not based on talent or drive but on who they know and the families they happen to be born into. Rant over.

  19. Marla says:

    Amen to that hmm!

  20. TS says:

Yeah what has she ever accomplished in her life? She has no talent, is a complete bitch like her Mom. Her dancing is below average. She is still fat and odd looking. Fred Flintstone legs and feet.

  21. Firestarter says:

I have to say that people cannot help what type of families they are born into. Blame the publics fascination with reality television for people who don’t “deserve” the attention and fame they get. If not for The Osbourne’s, The Simple Life and Keeping Up with the Kartrashian’s, and people watching those shows, we probably would not know who any of these people are. Sadly people watch these shows and give them the exposure that they might not have otherwise had.

  22. Shelly says:

I love Kelly and have from the beginning. I’m rooting for her to win (if not her, Mya, just please not Donnie). I don’t see how she’s dancing with bad bunions, though. I have one on each foot and just walking sometimes is extremely painful. Go Kelly!

  23. Rae says:

I think Donny’s going to win. He just has a larger fan base. And it wasn’t her dog. It was a dog she was keeping for a friend. Louis explained in on the show. Not that it isn’t still sad, but just for the record.

  24. NFLer says:

Why does she feel the need to dance her ass off? That’s what happens when you have a stage mother like Sharon.

  25. LittleMo says:

There are a lot of people who have made bad choies because of despondencies in their lives. Instead of getting on a high horse and looking down at people like Kelly who have overcome, those of us who have not made those mistakes should consider ourselves damn lucky. We had the ability to cope and deal and not everyone does. I remember being the kid that everybody made fun of when I was growing up and how much money you and/or your family has doesn’t make a bit of difference. Hatefulness still hurts and it hurt Kelly. I an rooting for Kelly to win but, if not, then Donnie – just not Mya. I can’t stand her. Her and JK both are full of themselves.

  26. Don’t ask me why, but she’s one of those celebrities I’m always rooting for. Not just in competition, but in life in general.
