Megan Fox says she has brain fog, hasn’t slept since she had her last baby

Megan Fox welcomed her fourth child, a daughter named Saga Blade, this past March. Saga is her first child with Machine Gun Kelly. Megan’s been pretty quiet over the past seven months, but she popped up at a screening of her fan-favorite/cult-classic movie Jennifer’s Body this past weekend. It was a part of the Academy’s “Monster Mash” event. During a panel with director Karyn Kusama, Megan got pretty candid about her postpartum experience, which includes brain fog and sleepless nights.

“First of all, I just want to say I just had a baby, and I have a lot of brain fog,” Fox told the audience during a panel conversation, per a TikTok shared by the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

She continued, joking, “I haven’t slept in seven months. So if I repeat myself, I’m sorry. Just interrupt me and tell me I’m off track.”

The actress went on to reveal that she “really resonated” with the script for Jennifer’s Body — particularly for her character’s transformation into a monster. She explained, saying, “there’s something about that, whether it’s perceived or not.”

“I felt like I was persecuted at that time in my career, and I was struggling a lot with fame and kind of traumatized by fame,” she explained. “I resonated with those deeper layers of before she becomes a monster, she’s a teenage girl that gets sacrificed for somebody else’s gain. And that very much resonated because that’s kind of how I came into this industry.”

For the event, the actress fully embraced the theme, donning a corset adorned with red beaded jewels that shimmered as she walked — seemingly evoking the look of dripping blood. She shared the look on Instagram, posting a video of herself strutting into the screening.

“Mommy had a thing last night 🍼🍼🍑🤷🏻‍♀️,” Fox cheekily wrote over the clip.

Fox shared that she and MGK, who she was then engaged to at the time, were expecting their first child in November 2024. Weeks later, the pair broke up, with a source telling PEOPLE that Fox was “blindsided” by their split.

However, a source told PEOPLE last week that the pair — who first connected in 2020 on the set of the film, Midnight in the Switchgrass and got engaged in 2022 — have been acting like a couple again.

“They’re together often, but he’s going on tour soon,” said the source, who added that it’s unclear if Fox will be joining him on the road. “He spends pretty much every night at her house with the baby, and they act like a couple, but they haven’t put a label on it or made anything official.”

Another source noted that baby Saga has brought the two closer together. “Megan’s very happy with how he’s stepped up for both her and the baby,” the insider shared. “While they still have separate homes, they spend a lot of time together as a family. They’re putting the baby first, and it’s brought them closer in many ways.”

Oh, I remember those sleepless nights and that brain fog all too well. My older son was sick nonstop until he got his first set of tubes at six months. Even then, we had five weeks of reprieve until he started teething at seven months and promptly lost ALL of his baby teeth between seven and twelve months. Those sleepless nights were the worst. I swear that’s part of the reason why it took me four more years to have a second one. That’s how long it took me to catch up on sleep! But back to Megan and the brain fog. I’m 11 years into this parenting thing and still repeat myself and get off track. It sounds like the Jennifer’s Body panel was really well-received, though. I’ve never seen it but it’s been on my list for years. Does it live up to its campy hype?

As for the whole “no label” thing with MGK…I really hope that Megan knows what she’s doing here, because I remember all of their previous drama and it never sounded like a stable, nontoxic relationship. I hope Megan has people in her life who care enough about her to keep an eye open and take her aside for a talk if needed. If a man is going to treat you that way while you’re pregnant with his baby, then it’s only a matter of time before he acts up again, especially if he’s going on tour and has no plans to bring you along.

Huh. I thought they were legit over, but separate houses sounds like a good arrangement. I want good things for her. Those costumes are great, btw, but the Kardashian body enhancement just looks uncomfortable.

My baby is 4. I’m still very tired and I think my brain fog has gotten worse.

  3. M says:

Did she have more face work? She seems even more unrecognizable than usual. I hope she has a court approved custody and child support arrangement.

  4. Indica says:

I don’t know if it’s bad lighting or what, but it looks like she has horizontal lines coming out of either side of her lips in the top picture. She was perfectly lovely before, but this is giving me hints of Kardashian.
I do wish the best for her! It took a lot of guts to stand up to Michael Bay as a young actress so I’ve always cheered her on.

I often get brain fog because of endometriosis, it’s the worst. Most of the time I feel like I’m floating throughout the day.

I need to re-watch Jennifer’s Body, but i recall really liking it.

You ever seen Rosemary’s Baby and think, well the satanists aren’t that bad, but the sexist men should be IN PRISON.
I feel like the Jennifer’s Body gave me the same sort of rage- but again, it has been awhile.

I wish Meghan had a friend who would shake her and tell her- relationships don’t have to be that hard. So intense, so difficult- no, your relationship, if it is the right one, can be a safe, calm place.
People who have been in toxic drama sometimes find that “boring” at first.
But, it is pretty close to heaven.

My first did not sleep through the night for his first three years. I feel her.
