Jesus, at this point it seems like everyone’s marriage is in “crisis”. Life & Style is reporting that Tori Spelling is “stuck” in her marriage with Dean McDermott. Dean goes off and plays with motorcycles while Tori is left with the kids. That’s basically what it boils down to, really. Of course, this whole thing is based on Life & Style “obtaining” footage from the new season of Tori and Dean’s reality show. So this is all probably a promotional bit.
Tori and Dean, the once happy reality TV couple, have recently become more like arch-enemies. Footage from season five of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, obtained exclusively by Life & Style, reveals their once-cozy relationship is now filled with tears, tension and screaming matches.
“What changed with me?” Dean pleads with his wife in the footage that was filmed last year. “It’s like you got more and more unhappy and angry,” Tori cries back to her husband. “I just want the old Dean back. I really do. I miss you so much.”
By his own admission, Dean isn’t the attentive man Tori married. Lately he’s been consumed by an obsession with motorcycle racing. The actor often strands Tori with the kids while he speeds off to California’s Auto Club Speedway several days each week, for hours at a time. A major plotline in season five is that Dean is rarely home with the children.
Even Dean confesses, “I’m not present as a father and a husband.” Tori’s also grown tired of single-handedly supporting their family — which includes son Liam, 3, and daughter Stella, 1, — in addition to supporting his pricey hobby. “Dean has very little money of his own,” an insider tells Life & Style. “He doesn’t make a lot of money from his acting career. She has to work and parent and take care of the home all at once.”
“Dean’s the first to show up for photo ops,” the insider tells Life & Style. “Tori likes when production is going on because at least there are tons of people around, money’s coming in and there are things to do.”
Left alone with her thoughts, Tori mulls over what’s more important: her own happiness or that of her children. “She won’t leave Dean right now,” asserts the insider. “It would be very embarrassing for her and her family. She’s stuck.”

I’m one of those weird people who occasionally watch that reality show and think “they seem like they’re really in love.” I really do think that, too. I don’t see how they could stay together like this and show their lives on camera the way they do if they weren’t really in love. I mean, neither of them is that good of an actor. So, is there something there? Are they in trouble? I bet their marriage hit some turbulence, but I bet they’re weathering it. Just my take.

I agree with your comments Kaiser. I will say this, even if its really blown up and out of proportion for story line purposes, it feels a bit true to life.
Seems like I see this in too many marriages … the guy just cracks and reverts to his adolescent selfish crap.
I call UNFAIR for Tori, and damn it Dean, suck it up and behave. You’re a dad, you don’t get to run away.

His previous marriage to Mary Jo Eustace ended when the dollar signs rang up in his eyes at the thought of marrying the Bank of Spelling. Tori knew she was getting into a relationship where she would be the main bread-winner but that didn’t stop her from barging in and breaking up the marriage during their adoption of a baby girl. I think the carefully contructed house of cards they created is starting to come down and Dean’s true colours are showing.

This is surely just promo for their next season, as you say. There is no real conflict if he’s admitting it over and over… the very fact that they’re openly calling it a “plotline” is pretty telling.

Yeah, ive watched their show. SHE seems in love with him, but he only seems to want to do what HE wants to do. Why do women NOT SEE what kind of man they are with until it is too late. He doesnt need to leave the marriage, because he is having fun being an overgrown teenager while she is being the grownup. I feel sorry for all his children – he is a crap father.

She is the scariest-looking woman. Ever. And I don’t see how this is supposed to be shocking. Perhaps they’re still together, but ANY marriage would suffer when the wife is doing all the work. And considering their previous history, it doesn’t sound like he’s a respectable guy, and she sounds just. plain. dumb.

Oh man. I too watched their show and they seemed happy and in love. Unfortunately, I think that if they are having trouble, it will be hard for them to face up to it and let the world see that although they broke up 2 marriages to be together…they were wrong. It’s sort of like not wanting to eat crow in front of the entire world. It’s exactly the same thing I think keeps Brad and Angie together. They just don’t want to admit the most “epic love of all time” just wasn’t so and that all of the people that will say “I told you so” were right.

I hope he realizes that if this does go the divorce root, he will fade into the background yet again, he’s not a bad actor, but really what is he known for, dumping his wife for Tori, hawking their relationship to sell their reality show about their relationship.
Unless he finds another rich woman to support his butt, while he’s on the motorcycle fix, he just be another B movie actor playing second fiddle in straight to video movies.

I agree with Erin, when you film your life, your family and your kids and sell it as a TV show, there’s bound to be problems. It’s just not natural. But neither of them seem to have much else to offer, talent wise.

Tori looked quite pretty at her book signing so these nasty comments are coming from nothing more than jealous haters. Also, the adoption hadn’t gone through with the second child. The older boy from what’s I’ve seen appears to visit them a lot and vice versa. I see many comments are based on zero facts.

Somehow it’s never an option for the mother to wander off to play with motorcycles while the husband ends up doing all the work & parenting by default.
Women think they’re being great, supportive wives when they first let men get away with this, but it festers, and soon there’s alienation and resentment all round. If the guy doesn’t have the sense to pull his weight, make it clear to him that it’s a 50-50 proposition.
If I were Spelling here, I would stop financing this ridiculous and dangerous hobby. This guy is a gold-digging, flaky ho, as I believe his first wife always said he was.

Maddie – Just saw your response about the adopted daughter. I want to like them together, but I think anyne who runs out on their kids is a lowlife. He may not have signed the legal adoption papers, but that is abandonment just the same, they had begun the process. What a dirtbag. Julia Roberts’s marriAge seems to stand the test of times so far. But it was the EXACT SAME situation. She even paid the wife to back off and to let her husband go and grant him he divorce. I was never convinced that he was madly in love with Julia like her ex, Benjamin Bratt seems to be. He was just bribed to be like a sperm donor more than a real equal companion.
I don’t recall her husband having a job since they are married and i never saw her husband with his older kids either. (i have seen Tory with her step kids).
Again sometimes it doesn’t work (like a lot of conventional marriages, sometimes it does) sometimes it does (depends on the characters of people, the level of love more than the way it started)…Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, ring a bell anyone ?
And i don’t think anyone in here would have said that the Newmans faked it just to keep up apperances for 50+ years because according the nowadays terms they were undoutedbly real homewreakers, having an affair while teaming on a movie, divortcing his wife and leaving her and his three children for Joanne and then marrying Joanne like three days later after the divorce was finalized !!!
I remembered him recalling the press being after them for years, planning their divorce/break up like every week or planning an affair from Paul while his new wife put halt on her career to take care of the family they were building. I remebered Paul once being angered and replying : “why would you want me to eat an hamburger when i have a steak at home ?”
I also remembered him blaming his only son passing away at 28(drug overdosis) on the fact that he wasn’t as present as he should have been with his three eldest than with the three youngest. He felt responsible and built a foundation upon his name.

Newman was famous for screwing around on Woodward. Do not forget, back then, affairs were kept very private for the sake of the stars. Joanne got Paul by having an affair with him while he was married and she spent the rest of her life watching him do it to her.
