Alec Baldwin calls gossip columnist a “goat-footed, wheezy, old queen”

82nd Annual Academy Awards - Governor's Ball

Okay, so a few weeks ago Mike Walker, the National Enquirer’s resident gossip columnist, wrote a little piece about how Alec Baldwin had yelled at Tina Fey while they were filming a scene for 30 Rock or something. I can’t find the piece online, but I believe that Walker probably reported something like that. I mean, is it such a stretch? Alec Baldwin is a angry, intemperate man. He could conceivably yell at Tina, although I think she would probably yell right back. And she would probably punch him too. And it would all go down in a gossip column somewhere. Anyway, Alec heard about the gossip column, and he decided to take Mike Walker to task, calling him a “whore” and a “queen”. Walker is threatening retaliation against “homophobic” Alec, in print. So Alec decided to one-up him, by doubling down on the insult: “Yes, he [Walker] is a goat-footed, wheezy, old queen, and all my male lovers agree with me.” Here’s more:

Alec Baldwin, who once had a feud with Page Six — we made up — is now at war with Mike Walker of the National Enquirer. The day before he co-hosted the Oscars, Baldwin — angry at Walker for reporting he’d screamed at Tina Fey on the set of “30 Rock” — told the Times of London the veteran columnist was a “whore” and a “queen.”

Walker vents in this week’s Enquirer: “Here’s my headline: ‘Alec Baldwin — Raging Closet HOMOPHOBE!’ Grab your pitchforks and torches, Hollywood — the monster lurks among ye!”

Baldwin, who says he never screamed at Fey, doesn’t seem to be afraid of a gay backlash. He told us yesterday, “Yes, he [Walker] is a goat-footed, wheezy, old queen, and all my male lovers agree with me.”

Walker states, “Just for the record: I am not gay, as my wife will attest. Right honey? . . . HONEY?? Hey Alec: Stay tuned.”

[From Page Six]

I mean, yes, this is funny. This makes me like Alec a little. “Goat-footed, wheezy old queen” is almost poetry. But it also underlines the simple point that Alec is a crazy, angry, intemperate bastard. And you should never pick fights with gossip columnists. Especially over something so trivial, like a random report that you yelled at Tina Fey. Unless, of course, there was truth to it and Alec didn’t like that. Hmm…?

You can always trust Alec to bring the crazy!

  2. Katalina76 says:

You know what, I’m with Alec on this one. The columnist is reacting completely disproportionately. And the “goat-footed, wheezy old queen” line. Absolutely hilarious. Baldwin 1, Gossip columnist 0.

  3. teri says:

The way he abused his ex wife Kim and their daughter was disgusting.

  4. lucy2 says:

    That is pretty funny.
Alec certainly does have a temper, but even if he and Tina got into it on set, you bet they dealt with it and moved on. They seem to have a really great working relationship and friendship too.

  5. meme says:

Alec is never boring, I’ll give him that and I’ll agree with him on this one too. As for his marriage, Kim Basinger is a nutjob.

  6. Sumodo1 says:

    If the foo shits…

  7. Tess says:

    Hilarious.
    What a poser.

Liberals like Alec continually accuse conservatives of namecalling, homophobia, and general hypocrisy.

But, liberals like Alec, so sure of the moral superiority of their viewpoint, feel absolutely entitled to exempt themselves from the standards of speech and behavior they demand from everybody else.

    He is a riot, though.
This is almost as hilarious as when he suggested that people should kill VP Cheney and his family because Alec opposed some of Cheney’s policies.

  8. moo says:

of all the Baldwin Boys, I’ve always liked Alec the most.

  9. Ursaline says:

I thought he was a real dirtbag for a long time, but Alec Baldwin has stopped taking himself so seriously and is much more entertaining now, even in a rather bombastic way.

And Kaiser, I just couldn’t agree with you more on this.

“Goat-footed, wheezy old queen” is almost poetry.

  10. snowball says:

I wasn’t in their marriage and I don’t know what he and Kim did (I can believe there was abuse of some kind), but it wasn’t all on his part. Many, many sources will tell you Kim is just as batshit crazy as Alec. She’s practically agoraphobic and has all kinds of other mental illnesses that she doesn’t treat.

    Anyway.

It’s totally not PC, but I think Alec is usually pretty damn funny. Daniel’s not bad either (on “The Smoking Gun..”), but Alec has this whole thing where you never know if he’s just going to go full-out straightjacket crazy at any moment.

“goat-footed, wheezy, old queen, and all my male lovers agree with me”

Sublime. Walker is a slimy creep. Goat-footed, I have to remember that one.

  11. Raven says:

I like Alec Baldwin. I figure I can always call him a guilty pleasure. He obviously turned the tables on Mike, who seems to have gotten a bit defensive, needing to bring his own wife into it.

Apparently, Alec can make up with most people he fights with (ex-wife excepted). Page six noted they had made up with Alex. He and Tina Fey have also been friendly, after reportedly not getting along for awhile.

I personally would rather work with hot heads, so you know where you stand, than backbiting sneaky liars.

  12. alex says:

I LOVE ALEC BALDWIN. He totally rock

  13. Gwen says:

I like him, even with the temper.

  14. Bullett says:

Baldwin is like alot of ex-drunks; long on anger and generally very funny. He’s ok in my book, the world could probably use more people who speak up and don’t worry too much about it.

  15. snapdragon says:

    “goat footed”?! BWAH!!!

  16. Jackson says:

What, exactly, does the insult of ‘goat-footed’ imply? I’ve never heard it before.

  17. Ursaline says:

@ Raven, I totally agree about hotheaded bluntness versus underhanded, sneaky, backbiting liars. I’d rather know that someone was mad at me to my face than have to wonder if everything they said to me was a lie.

  18. d says:

    @ Raven: AGREED.

  19. Jag says:

Being in the minority, I have to ask when will he just go away?

Let’s see… He thinks the best way to deny yelling at Fey on set is to yell at a gossip columnist? Not quite. I’ve always heard they didn’t like each other, so it wasn’t unexpected to read that he had yelled at her, especially since he’s so vile.

Not to mention I must be behind the times because I wasn’t aware that being called a “queen” was something bad. Guess you learn something new every day.

  20. ThunderC*nt says:

This whole story will become so much more precious and heart warming to you if you Google Alec doing a skit on SNL as Charles Nelson Reilly. Remember that silly, lovable queen from Match Game? Will Ferrell is the guy from The Actor’s Studio.

Let me see if I can find it…

    If I may~

    Scrumpucliscious?

  21. gg says:

He is always pretty damn funny. And Kim’s crazier, not that that excuses child abuse.

  22. Who Cares says:

I know he’s a hot head, and I’d probably kill him in his sleep if I was married to the guy, but I do admire that he says what he thinks. Just because he shoots his mouth off doesn’t mean he’s automatically wrong.

And even if you hate him, he’s still an exceptional actor.

  23. Joseph says:

I don’t know…for me, it’s hard not to like the guy. Not only a great actor but also very, very funny. His SNF, Sweaty balls, skit still makes my smile.

  24. GatsbyGal says:

It would’ve been kinda mean if not for the “…and all my male lovers agree with me” line. It’s silly. I usually don’t care for Alec Baldwin, but that was gold.

  25. matu chandler says:

Hey Teri the abuser was his ex wife she is the craziest female ever and vicious.

  26. Mentok the Mind Taker says:

Ok, not sure why I’m defending Baldwin, but I’ve always felt that Basinger was a manipulative little b, and that there’s a lot about their toxic relationship that she had more of a hand in. Yes, he has a temper, but wouldn’t you get pissed if people were always on you about it? He’s not right to call his daughter a “pig”, but how did that even get into the tabs anyway? (Kim, anyone?)

I don’t know. I think if I had obnoxious cameramen in my face goading me into a fight, I’d probably want to smack ’em, too.

What I do know is everytime he’s involved in a flick, he’s awesome (no one could’ve narrated The Royal Tennenbaums better). As far as personally, I’ve come to the conclusion that if you’ve chosen to be in the public eye, you’re probably a bit touched.

  27. QuinnEdwards says:

    He’s certifiable.
    Again, poor Ireland.
Can he blame his latest episode on Kim??

  28. a says:

I love how he keeps it real! He seems like he isn’t always checking with PR people.
Not too many people can make that claim. And what he said was freakin hilarious — he is obviously not a homophobe

  29. Popcorny says:

Alex is too funny and that turdish-nobody from the Enquirer ought to be grateful Alex even took note of him at all, let alone royally bitch slap him as he did.

  30. canadianchick says:

I fell asleep for the Oscars a couple weeks ago. I read Alec smacked Kathryn Bigelow on the butt after she won. Is that true? I loathe Alec after what he said about his daughter. He obviously doesn’t respect women imo.

  31. Peg says:

I’m not amused by Alec at all. When is it alright to hurl homophobic insults? Would it have been ok to call Wallace the N word? He also puts on a “gay affect”, vying for laughs, quite frequently, as he did at the Oscars.

It’s no more funny than if he came out with Black face and spoke in Eubonics.

He’s not funny. He IS a Homophobe trying to pass himself off as a straight guy who has been licensed by the gay community to make fun of them.

It’s not funny. He’s not funny. Maybe he’s gay and trying to cover.

  32. Tia C says:

@ Ursaline: bombastic is the perfect word for him!

He does always have a way with words, that’s for sure! Viva Alec! 😉
