Kate Gosselin made a guest host appearance on The View this week, during which she took time to deny a story in the NY Post that she was “frosty” and a “diva” on the set of Dancing With The Stars. Kate’s main excuse was that she was primarily training for the show from her basement, but she did say that she was in LA on set for five days, calling it “a huge honor” and saying that she “met everybody [and] had a great time.” One person Kate met, professional ballroom dancer and Dancing with The Stars regular, Mark Ballas, agrees with the Post’s story that she’s not the easiest person to get along with. He told US Weekly that he did meet Kate on set and called her “standoffish.” He also made a hilarious dig at her dancing ability. He said that Kate’s trainer and partner, Tony Dovolani, is a friend of his, and he’s sure he’ll “whip her into shape. Whatever you can get out of that!” I love it!
Kate Gosselin may be able to laugh off rumors of her diva behavior on the set of Dancing With the Stars — but her new colleagues aren’t so sure.
“I’m not the type of person to judge…” dancer Mark Ballas told UsMagazine.com of Gosselin at Wednesday’s Drai’s Hollywood grand opening event in West Hollywood. “And I’m not going to be like ‘I don’t like [Kate]…”
But?
“But, I mean, she’s pretty, you know, standoffish, which is kind of weird.”
Ballas, pro partner to Shannen Doherty this season, told Us about meeting the reality mom for the first time.
“I don’t really know her, but when I met her she wasn’t kind of like, ‘hello’ or anything. I say ‘hey,’ and she was like ‘oh hey.’ I was like, ‘Okay!’”
Ballas added, “She has a great partner, Tony [Dovolani] who is a dear friend of mine, so I’m sure he will whip her into shape. Whatever you can get out of that!”
During her Wednesday appearance on The View, Gosselin poo-poo’d the New York Post’s report that she “sets herself apart” from other DWTS contenders and “wants to be queen bee.” “I’m 3,000 miles away! I was out [L.A.] once for five days and met everyone and had a great time.”

If the guy who is partners with Shannen Doherty is calling Gosselin standoffish, you know she is! In other news about semi-famous people dissing Gosselin, Kendra Wilkinson is being widely quoted as saying that, unlike Kate, she wouldn’t do DWTS with young kids at home. Kendra’s statements aren’t as bad as they’re being made out to be, she just says it’s not for her. I don’t think she’s really going after Kate like some are making out. I dislike Kate as much as the next person, but Kendra’s son is just a few months old and Kate’s youngest are five. She does have eight kids at home, though! There’s a very valid point to be made about mom’s working out of the home and how it’s not a big deal when everyday people do it, but Kate gets bashed for it. She isn’t “just like moms everywhere working” though as she claims, and she doesn’t publicly acknowledge all the help she has. She just bugs, and she’s a snotty media-hungry person. That’s why she’s being called out for trying to act like an average working mom.
To focus on something more positive, what a cutie Mark Ballas is! He hasn’t been on my radar before, but he definitely is now!

I can’t wait to see how Kate will react when the judges, especially Bruno, critiques her dancing! Sometimes he can be brutal! Will she snap back at him? I just can’t wait to see the show! I love it!.

On another note… AW! How cute! Once again the bodyguard dresses to match KHATE! UGH! Am I the only one who notices how often he does that? I have to laugh that she has a bodyguard. When someone asked her once why she feels the need to have a bodyguard, she replied that because she has 8 children and where would they be if something happed to their mother? HaHaHaHa! I can tell you what would happen. The same thing that’s happening now. The Nannies are raising them. Plain and simple.

Maritza, I’ve thought that same thing! I can’t wait to see how Kate reacts to the critique of the judges. Either they will fawn all over her or they’ll hate her; I don’t see there being anything in the middle. I have a feeling that Kate will actually be a pretty decent dancer. Looks like the training is paying off – she looks great.

pr photo op, people in the background don’t even look and there is no crowd of worshipers. i thought this fake bodyguard was married? no ring, he had it thanksgiving at the queens house with his wife and son. did he get a quiet divorce and this will be the next breaking news? who cares. he can have her, it’ll save some other guy from her horrid life.

God I am sick of this woman and her “I do everything for my children. she’s NEVER with them. Jon is with them more, and always has been the better, mor caring parent. If she does everything for her children, and wants to do what’s best for them, why doesn’t she go back to nursing so she is home with them? Nurses make excellent money, but she wouldn’t get to be in the limelight. And as for the comment about how a lot of other mothers work, yeah, they work, but they also spend the days with their kids. Shouldn’t then have enough money now anyway? Her house is paid for – thats a lot more than other divorced mothers have. And she’s ugly. If she wants to do everythng for her kids, why did she spend $7,000 on that hideous hair?

Okay, I don’t like Kate and I think Mark Ballas is okay so this is weird for me as I think Mark was out of line. He one of the dancing professionals but didn’t sound very professional, in fact he sounded like a bitchy little girl, which is fine but it’s disappointing for another pro to come out and diss one of the “celebrities” before the show even starts. Not even Maks has pulled that shit. So she didn’t gush all over him, so what? Maybe she’s not the only high maintenance one on set.

Well, here it is April 2, and we have truly seen for ourselves that KHATE is, indeed, hard to train.

Please! I hardly ever believe what I read! Im sure Mark Ballas did not say anything about Kate like they make it out in the paper. They always reword, add a word to make it like they are dissing the other person. Marks a sweetheart and my favorite dancer!!!
