People: Jennifer Aniston ‘knows people have always rooted for her to find love’

Jennifer Aniston and author/professional hypnotist Jim Curtis were first spotted together this past summer. They’ve since been papped throughout New York City, where Jim lives. They went Instagram-official a month ago when Jen posted a birthday message to her “love” and attended their first event as a couple in mid-November. Unsurprisingly, Jennifer and Jim spent Thanksgiving together in NYC and were spotted brunching in the West Village over the weekend.

Back in the tabloid heyday, this sighting would have spawned a million ”Jennifer has found love at last!” headlines. Those days may have passed, but don’t worry! “Someone” on Jen’s team was authorized to talk to People to let them know that their holiday was fabulous and that she wants everyone to know that she’s in a great relationship.

Things between Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend Jim Curtis are heating up. The Morning Show star, 56, celebrated Thanksgiving together, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively, and she’s feeling “excited” about where things are going with the hypnotherapist.

“Jen celebrated Thanksgiving with Jim and her usual friend group. They always get together and cook, play games and have the best time,” the source says. “Jim fits right in with her friends. Everything in her life has come together and she’s excited about it.”

Aniston — who went Instagram official with Curtis, 50, on his birthday in early November — “feels confident with Jim,” the source shares. “She’s comfortable letting people see a bit more of a relationship that feels truly grown-up and good.”

“She knows people have always rooted for her to find love, and now that she’s in a happy place, she wants to share that.”

The couple stepped out in New York City following the holiday on Saturday, Nov. 29, and were seen exiting West Village hotspot Cafe Cluny after having brunch together in photos obtained by PEOPLE. A source said that they sat at a table by the window together and “looked very happy” during the outing.

I love how old school Jennifer still is when it comes to revealing and giving details about her relationships. She does the ole slow-rollout and knows how to keep people interested without getting too in their face. It’s also funny because I don’t think anyone was clamoring for details about their dating life, but the source wanted everyone to know that Jen is in a great place. Reminding everyone of the decades-long “poor unlucky in love Jennifer” narrative is peak ”Look at me!” audience-engagement. I freaking love it. Anyway, I have no idea if Jim and Jennifer’s relationship is on track to be “The One With the Forever Person” or not, but her longtime famous friends all seem to like him. I’ve always rooted for Jen, so I’m happy that she’s happy, and I sincerely hope that she finds what she’s looking for with Jim.

If the source was authorized to speak on her behalf, why withhold their name?

  2. Michelle says:

She loves to play the ‘American Sweetheart’ role but she’s a middle age mean girl who hides behind her powerful team and phony ass friends. All she does is hawk products and her shitty show.

  3. Kitten says:

Her man is so hot and she seems really happy.

I love that Andre Bendewald is in that picture with Aniston.😍😍😍

Jennifer and Andrea go back almost 40 years!! (That says a lot about her).

Andrea being in a public picture with Jim, shows a serious sign of approval.

I too have always rooted for Jen…so I hope she’s happy with someone who she shares a cultural background & life philosophy with ❤️

  6. Cosmo says:

He has a strong LA vibe. I’m surprised he lives in NYC. It seems like people in LA would eat up his woo woo stuff.

  7. DianeS says:

I just remember when she divorced (?) Justin Theroux, one of the issues cited was his love of NYC and her love of LA. I hope the same does not repeat itself. I wish her well.

  8. Ariel says:

I do not understand how she and her love life are still considered newsworthy. To me, the only thing thing interesting about this pairing is that a wealthy person seems to be going for a ride with an attractive grifter. (He’s a literal hypnotist! Like, what do YOU think is going on here?)

    • jmbeans says:

YES! I feel like she’s so image conscious that she’s overlooking red flags to look good on paper…tall, dark, handsome…estranged from his son, hypnotist.

    • Smatone99 says:

Perhaps learn about hypnosis before making such ignorant claims. Many medical professionals – many – including doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists use hypnosis daily.

  9. Sharon says:

I feel like they both have so many similarities in their facial features. Anyone else notice that sometimes in couples?

    • Nicki says:

Yes! Especially celebrity couples. Back in the day Mick Jagger and his wife Bianca looked so much alike. And Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis. Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe, Allison Williams and her dude. Narcissism is a powerful force 🙂

  10. lucy2 says:

Good for her. If she’s happy, great.

  11. Smatone99 says:

To Jens publicist : sorry never rooted for jen. She’s the most basic actor there is and got lucky. Then used the tabs to stay in public consciousness with all those hit pieces about AJ, and Jens love life, and baby making. Your team did that – it didn’t come from thin air. If she hadn’t got friends she would never have made it.

  12. a mascarada says:

    They look happy together.

I hope they have a great relationship!

  13. East Villager says:

Wow, I am surprised by the anti-Jen sentiment here! I have never met a single person who has worked with her who’s had anything but nice things to say about her. I had friends in common with her in the Friends days (pre-Brad) and she was a homebody who had her heart soundly broken by Tate Donovan. It says a lot about someone (IMHO) when they have lifelong friends in the biz, and Aniston goes way, way back with people like Sandler and Jason Bateman.
