Andrew Windsor was forced to surrender his gun license & his guns were seized

This weekend, there was a big exclusive about the degenerate formerly known as Prince Andrew. It feels like people care less about this Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor situation right now, mostly because the royal establishment has made it clear that they’re still going to protect Andrew from any real consequences for his years of depravity. There’s a wink-nudge in all discussions about Andrew’s “punishments” in most reporting, although I get the feeling that royal sources are laying it on thick because they’re trying to convince the peasants that Andrew really does feel “punished.” Punished because he’s being forced to downsize to a comfortably renovated home in Norfolk, and he’s still got protection, money and well-heeled friends. Apparently, King Charles “regrets” some of the punishments he doled out, but there’s also an effort to blame Charles’s hardline on Prince William and Kate. They’re trying to make this into THE royal soap opera (when the real soap opera is what’s happening between the king and heir, and the heir and his wife). Some highlights:

Downsizing: In readiness for this ignominious downsizing – Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate has, horror of horrors, just five bedrooms – Andrew is said to have taken advice on how to declutter his belongings. While apparently ‘trying to block out’ the move, he has accepted the help of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson who, like him, will also soon be hoofing it out of the door. A former secretary has also been drafted in to help with the Herculean task of sorting boxfuls of Andrew’s documents, photographs and letters, some of which are potentially sensitive. This week a source told the Daily Mail: ‘Royal Lodge is in quite a state. Andrew has finally accepted he needs to get on with things. There is simply no room for it all at Marsh Farm.’

Andrew’s guns: Among the once treasured possessions which will not be going with him to his new home, I can reveal, are expensive guns given as gifts by well-heeled friends over the years. They were removed from Royal Lodge in November and are now in the possession of his brother, the King. The Daily Mail has also discovered that Mountbatten-Windsor quietly surrendered his gun licence in November at the request of Metropolitan Police firearm officers after they went to Windsor to consult with the King’s private secretary, Sir Clive Alderton, before going to Royal Lodge for an ‘awkward conversation’ with a furious Andrew in the presence of his ex-wife. ‘Eventually, having been calmed down by Sarah, Andrew accepted that he needed to surrender his licence and handed over the guns he kept at the Lodge,’ says the source, who has spoken exclusively to the Daily Mail. ‘The guns seized were handed over to the King rather than being impounded as would normally be the case.’ The removed weapons are not the guns that Andrew, a shooting enthusiast, keeps in the royal armouries at the King’s estates in Sandringham and Balmoral. In future, if he wants to go shooting, he will be able to use those only under supervision.

Andrew doesn’t want Marsh Farm: Insiders say, however, that Marsh Farm still requires extensive work to become habitable and that Andrew hasn’t yet ‘signed on the dotted line’ to move there. ‘He really didn’t want Marsh Farm,’ says the source. ‘Andrew won’t have lived anywhere that small since he left his apartment at Buckingham Palace – and then he had free roam of the building and grounds when he needed space.’

Andrew’s staff in Norfolk: With no staff accommodation at the property, his hopes of taking one or two faithful retainers from Royal Lodge have also been dashed. It is said that the King will provide a cleaner, a groundsman and a cook from Sandringham to look after Andrew’s needs on an ad hoc basis. ‘That hasn’t gone down well,’ says the source, ‘nor has the lack of suitable garaging for Andrew’s cars, although that may be dealt with during the refurbishment.’

Andrew is being moved to Wood Farm temporarily: This is being done, it is understood, ‘to spare him seeing his world literally crumble around him’. There is a growing possibility that Andrew will be temporarily housed at another Sandringham property, Wood Farm, where Prince Philip lived quietly out of view in the final years of his life and where the late Queen was a frequent visitor. According to the source: ‘He is trying to block it [the move] out. His personal rooms have to be kept clear of any sign of packing cases. He is likely to move into temporary furnished accommodation provided by the King at Windsor or Sandringham as a stop-gap to spare him dealing with it all. A trusted member of staff is to be left behind to supervise the packing at the Lodge.’

Andrew has given up his teddy bears: But this won’t include Andrew’s legendary 72-strong teddy bear collection, because the Daily Mail can also reveal that it has, in fact, been disbanded. It is not clear when, exactly, this happened but insiders say that the former prince has retained just one cuddly monkey – a relic from the days when he used to test Buckingham Palace cleaners by hiding it in unlikely locations to see if they spotted it and returned it to its rightful place in his bedroom.

Princess Anne & Prince Edward are worried about Andrew: ‘The main concern is that it’s too remote and that leaving Andrew cut off may not be wise,’ says the source. There are concerns about what Andrew will find to do in a village with a population of around just 200 and where he has no established connections. Aside from a circular walk around nearby Dersingham Bog, or perhaps a round of golf at one of several courses in the area, Andrew will be cut off from the busy social life he once enjoyed in Windsor, not to mention its easy access to Heathrow Airport for the frequent trips abroad he likes to make. Princess Anne and, to a degree, Prince Edward are said to feel that their brother, King Charles, has gone too far in his treatment of Andrew. ‘Anne has been vocal with both the King and William about Andrew’s treatment,’ says the source, ‘with Edward backing her to some extent. There are several arguments going on between Andrew and the King and between the King and the wider family – some of whom are convinced the King has treated his brother too harshly. It is easy to forget that Andrew has not been found guilty of anything and he denies all allegations.’

Charles regrets his hard line on Andrew: Even King Charles himself is said by insiders already to regret not allowing his brother, who is almost 12 years his junior, to remain at least as ‘Prince Andrew’, reflecting that he is the son and brother of a Queen and a King and the son of a Greek and Danish Prince. ‘The King remains of the view that Andrew is innocent until proven guilty and has yet to see evidence that he is [guilty],’ the source said. ‘The late Queen went to her grave believing in Andrew’s innocence in the Epstein scandal. It doesn’t fit well with the King to have to treat Andrew as harshly as he has to in the circumstances. William and Camilla take a harder line, which has caused a lot of family angst.’

Fergie’s fine though: ‘Sarah has largely sorted her own possessions and papers,’ says the source. Box loads of her belongings – as well as clothes and items belonging to the couple’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie – have been moved to the Cotswold home of Princess Beatrice, although it is not clear if Beatrice is merely storing the items or whether her 66-year-old mother will be moving full-time into the converted cow barn in her eldest daughter’s garden.

[From The Daily Mail]

I chuckled a few times – Charles is still dithering about whether he did the right thing, Andrew having a nervous breakdown about the move, all of the stuff about Andrew’s guns. I realize England’s gun laws are much, much different than America’s “anything goes” gun culture, but the idea of having cops run to the king’s private secretary to confiscate Andrew’s guns is pretty wild. Would Andrew seriously not be allowed to bring his hunting rifles to Norfolk? Apparently, Andrew is complaining heavily about the size of Marsh Farm too and the lack of bedrooms. Sure. These people really think they’re entitled to 30-bedroom mansions and castles, don’t they?

    They all suck.

But I love barns that are converted into living spaces. I hope Fergie gives us a tour.

  2. jais says:

It’s wild to hear about Edward and Anne having so much concern for Andrew. Bc we haven’t really heard that they had any for Harry. Maybe they did and it’s just not discussed idk.

    • Lady Esther says:

Hasn’t Anne seen the emails from Andrew asking for “inappropriate friends”? The photo of Andrew with his arm around Virginia? The emails of Sarah accepting all the money from Epstein? Not to mention Virginia’s book? And everything else that hasn’t yet been revealed yet to the public but surely exists and is known fully and openly by the entire RF and their courtiers…

This whole narrative of “innocent until proven guilty” is not a good look for Anne, supposedly the sharpest among her generation of the RF (which isn’t saying much admittedly but still). Are we supposed to believe Anne is THIS dumb? That she’s willing to go down with the ship, should Andrew ever have to face real consequences? That Anne will suddenly one day say “OMG I HAD NO IDEA, I’M ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED, SHOCKED I TELL YOU”?

This whole bit defending him does her absolutely no favors…

      • EllenOlenska says:

Not defending Anne or Edward if this is true but I wonder if this is a test balloon by the palace to claim that “they think it is too strict “ to see if the general public would be okay with King Chucky backing off on the “ strict” punishment

  3. “His world crumble”? Are you kidding me? What about the victims and their worlds crumbling with absolutely no justice!! I don’t give a rats ass about his so called “punishment “ which is no punishment at all!! He should be in prison where his world can crumble in a very small prison cell!

    • Tessa says:

He should have been turned over to the FBI when they wanted to speak to him. Instead he was hidden out. His moaning about “his lot” is sickening.

    • Giddy says:

Agree, agree, agree! His crumbling world? Oh, God bless and all that! The poor thing! How awful to be reduced to such poverty! A five bedroom home, which will doubtless be lovely when the renovations are finished. No room for his teddy bears, but there will be for his car collection. He’ll play golf, still travel, hunt when he picks up guns from Chuckles. This is not the life of harsh consequences that he deserves, but if it makes him unhappy, then it will have to suffice. A crumbling world? How about the worlds of girls who were trafficked to him? How have the years treated them? Does he care? No, he only feels sad for himself and his reduced circumstances.

    • StellainNH says:

Marsh Farm is certainly better accommodations than a 5′ by 8′ prison cell.

  4. SuOutdoors says:

Yeah, this gun story is interesting. Gun controll in Germany is quite restrictive. But: Usually you only loose your license, when where is proof of irresponsibility, mostly after documented abuse of substances (drugs/alcohol) or committing a crime. Loosing it to hand your brother an easy PR win, is not a thing here. But hey, we got rid of our King/Kaiser more than a hundred years ago, so what would we know…

  5. Nanea says:

    Five bedrooms.
    Too small.
    For one man.

Yeah, right, and then having brothers and sister worry about the *punishment* being too hard. After the £12 million his mother (the taxpayers?) shelled out.

Has any of them ever said anything about his victims? Acknowledged them in any way? Of course not.

That man belongs in jail, not in a mansion, however remote.

(Remote for me would be Orkney, Outer Hebrides or whatever, but those parts of Scotland don’t deserve having Paedrew foisted on them)

  6. Tessa says:

It’s been 30 years since the divorce, It’s about time she is moving and relocating.

  7. QuiteContrary says:

A novelist couldn’t write a character as hideous and entitled as Andrew … so he used to hide his stuffed monkey as a test to see if the underpaid cleaners were cleaning tucked-away spaces sufficiently?

He’s angry that he’s only going to have five bedrooms?

He’s such a whiny baby that the packing boxes have to be kept out of his sight?

Anne and Edward should shut the hell up. They’re damned lucky their brother isn’t in prison. And yes, it’s interesting that his guns have been taken away — it’s at least a small acknowledgment from law enforcement that Pedrew is a menace.

  8. Eurydice says:

They’re making it out to be only about Epstein, but there are the 10 years when he was a trade envoy, during which there were millions in shady deals and kick backs. And let’s not mention the Chinese spies and the 40 women in Thailand and the rafts of complaints to BP about Andrew’s behavior by the UK and other foreign governments. The only reason Andrew hasn’t been prosecuted is because QEII and Charles have covered for him. So, now it’s up to BP to clean up the mess.

  9. Brassy Rebel says:

Wait… did they just say Sarah is moving into a converted “cow barn”? 😆

    • Eurydice says:

It’s a lovely last sentence, isn’t it? So many layers. Her daughter puts her in the converted cow barn, but at least it’s in the garden. Because “garden” makes it so much nicer.

  10. Tessa says:

If Andrew is “innocent” then why did he not talk to the FBI and possibly fight the charges in court. He did not even go to court to fight the lawsuit. And he said he “never met” Virginia G. yet has his mother pay up 12 million to someone he “never met” because it would “interfere” with the Jubilee. He and his siblings who “pity him” should realize that he should have been turned in to the authorities, instead he’s supported for life.

    • Brassy Rebel says:

They don’t care about innocent or guilty. They don’t see anything wrong with what they know damn well he did.

  11. Elly says:

He’s nauseating! Why doesn’t he go to the US and talk to the FBI so he can prove his self claimed innocence?

    • Chrissy says:

Maybe because there’s no safety net for him in the US. There are no Royal sychophants, with private jets and bags of money, ready to make excuses for him in the US and carry him back home to his family’s private hiding places. 🤷

  12. Bumblebee says:

This just makes him sound pathetic. A weak, spoiled brat who has done nothing all his life but abuse the system and other people. He’s not in jail. He’s not traumatized. He’s downsizing!!!

  13. Beana says:

Imagine being so freaking privileged that, after doing unthinkable acts to minors, you become suicidal when you have to live in a free, five-bedroom mansion with people who are paid to cook, clean, garden, and move house for you.

Meanwhile, most of us live significantly more virtuous lives and will never receive a fraction of that. Burn the monarchy to the ground.
