The one and only Miss Piggy recently revealed that she and Gwyneth Paltrow go to the same dermatologist. But my question is, who is Miss Piggy’s publicist, because this little piggy has been everywhere lately! Of course it’s not out of nowhere: Miss P and the rest of the gang are promoting a one-off episode of The Muppet Show that premiered on Disney+ February 4. Seth Rogen produced the special to honor 50 years since the first Muppet Show graced our screens. So I guess with five decades in the industry behind her — while simultaneously NOT aging one bit herself — Piggy knows that there are ebbs and flows to a career, and that it never hurts to help grease the wheels for a flow to be extra gushing. Still, the new Muppet Show is only 30 minutes, yet it feels like Piggy has spent 10 times as many minutes doing press! I’m not complaining, mind you, because each interview has been loaded with gems. Like here with People Mag, where Piggy waxes on a topic she is a certified expert on: confidence.
“I understand not everybody can have it as easy as moi,” the Muppets Treasure Island star first admitted, then adding: “I would just say, it doesn’t matter how the world sees you. It’s about how you see you.”
“Believe in yourself and allow yourself to make mistakes. It’s okay if you do. It’s okay if you don’t,” continued. “I mean, you know, that’s worked for me. I never make mistakes.”
The multihyphenate, who recently worked with Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen for 2026’s The Muppet Show, a half-hour 50th anniversary special honoring the iconic series, also dished on her “ideal man” for Carpenter, 26.
“Oh, that’s easy. Her ideal man is anyone I don’t have my eyes on first,” Miss Piggy told PEOPLE with her signature deadpan delivery.
When asked about the creative process behind the recent special, and specifically her collaboration with both Rogen, 43, and Kermit, Miss Piggy explained, “Okay, let’s get this straight. Every good idea was mine, and anything that felt like, ‘Hmm, is that right? Could have been better’ — that was Kermit or Seth.”
“Make sure the people know that, okay?” she added.
The star also revealed the top five items that are on her rider for each and every gig.
“Well, of course, there’s two dozen roses. The basket of kittens, fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, low-wattage light bulbs for all the overhead lights, an oil painting of myself to scale and a zen garden. I’m sorry, is that five? Did I just mention five? I lost count,” Miss Piggy told PEOPLE.
As for why she says people should watch her new special? “Well, you got moi,” Miss Piggy said.
“You got Sabrina Carpenter. You got Seth Rogen and Maya Rudolph, Kermit. And in that order,” she continued.
Somebody get this pig a talk show already! Or, since many talk shows are ending or being canceled, maybe Miss Piggy should host a podcast. Only instead of asking guests questions, Piggy gives them the once in a lifetime opportunity to ask her all the questions they’ve been dying to know of their forever idol icon diva. People would watch! For me, it’s her honesty that’s so refreshing. There’s no tripping over her words to appear humble, instead Miss P is in a hurry to make sure she’s front and center and given proper/all the credit, and you’re welcome by the way. And it’s not like she’s lying, either! Her advice here on confidence is golden, that it’s not how the world sees you, but how you see yourself. (And holy pig, did that perspective shift give me a lot to think about in terms of how I’ve been carrying myself.) Likewise, letting yourself make mistakes is a very important, if not one of the most important lessons in life. Even if it is funny hearing those words of wisdom from a pig world famous for always getting everything right. So again, podcast please! Miss Piggy has so much to offer… and we have A LOT to learn.
PS — Piggy recently told The Cut that she’s crushing on Dr. Robby, so I nominate Noah Wyle to be the first guest on the podcast I’m manifesting into being. You know, so he can return the adoration.
