Jennifer Lopez was awarded an allegedly prestigious honor last night – she was named Us Weekly’s “Style Icon of the Decade”. Really I think Us Weekly just wanted to host an event and get Jennifer to show up. And show up she did, in this little lace cocktail dress by George Chakra Couture. Ugh. I hate it. Don’t get me wrong, I do think Jennifer knows a lot about fashion, and she’s definitely had some great fashion moments through the past decade, but this was not the too-tight, uncomfortable dress to wear for the honor. Oh, but Jennifer didn’t just show up in a too-tight, too-short dress and pose with her patented open mouth. Us Weekly reports that Jennifer was having so much fun at their sponsored honors that she and Marc Anthony “began playfully dirty dancing.” Did anyone else get that mental image and start laughing? Oh, and Jennifer also had a “dance off” with Leah Remini. What the hell?
By the way, I know CB covered part of Jennifer’s “exclusive” interview with Us Weekly earlier this week, but I just wanted to give some of the full quotes. Jennifer told the tabloid, regarding her post-baby body: “I remember my flabby belly hanging out right after I gave birth. I kind of laughed and said to Marc, ‘Look, baby! Isn’t this crazy?’ I just didn’t care. I look back at pictures from that time, and I’m like ‘Oh, god, I was fat. I was still heavy eight months out!’ You get to the point where you’re like, Where am I? What happened to me? I got to get myself together for my kids, you know? They need to know what I really look like.” Ugh. When she says stuff like that, I kind of dislike her.

I hate that stupid open mouth pose, it just looks weird, and hilarious that she’s doing it in every photo.
The dress is too short and tight on her, looks uncomfortable. When she’s more natural and relaxed she’s very pretty, but when she looks like this, it’s obvious she’s trying to hard.
And please, her kids don’t care what she looks like! All they care about is being loved and taken care of. She wanted her figure back for her – just admit it!

I think she’s wearing some kind of uncomfortable body cinching girdle thing underneath the dress. Look at how the flesh is popping out of her armpit in the first pic. Makes the too small dress look even more like a burst sausage. I think she has that weird expression because she’s probably not very comfortable.

The editors must have been bedazzled by the shimmer on the Jr. high school Christmas break dance dress, or was it the sexiness of the open mouth pose. Was no-one else available.
