Mark Ronson and Daisy Lowe split up

Mega hit producer Mark Ronson, 33, and his girlfriend, model Daisy Lowe, 19, have split up. Well known in their native England, the attractive couple was often photographed at events and concerts together. Ronson is the brother of Lindsay Lohan’s girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson, and is the producer who helped springboard the careers of Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. He also has a successful music career in his own right and has won several Grammys and a Brit awards. Daisy Lowe is the daughter of Pearl Lowe and rocker Gavin Rossdale, although she didn’t find out her father’s identity until a paternity test revealed the news when she was 15.

The two made their first public appearance together in April of this year. They’re said to have broken up because Ronson is ready to settle down but 14 years younger Lowe isn’t, and has relocated to NY for her career.

Superstar DJ Mark Ronson, the pop guru behind Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, has split from his girlfriend, Agent Provocateur model Daisy Lowe – with friends blaming the 14-year age gap between them.

The sudden split follows a heated argument four days ago….

But a source said: ‘Mark is not coming to London. He and Daisy had a row over something small which escalated into something rather big.

‘Daisy got very upset and shot at Mark that she was leaving him. He completely surprised her by saying, “Fine, leave.” That was it. They haven’t spoken since the argument.

‘She has said it’s over and that the age difference was a big deal. She comes over as being very mature for her years and incredibly sophisticated but at heart she’s still a little girl who’s not ready to settle down.’

Daisy had moved to New York to pursue her career. The source added: ‘She has quite a few friends in New York and she’s deciding what to do about her future. Her career is going from strength to strength and she’s not sure if she’s ready to leave New York but she is adamant things are over with Mark for the time being.’

The couple were together just last week at Ronson’s 33rd birthday party at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire.

Daisy was introduced to his family, who had flown over from New York, and told one partygoer: ‘I feel like a Ronson now. I’ve been playing with the nieces and nephews and being polite to Mark’s mum. I’m exhausted.’

But friends say Daisy is reluctant to settle down at such a young age.

A source said: ‘Despite his party-boy image, Mark’s quite serious and just wants to meet the right girl and settle down. That was an issue for Daisy, who is still quite young at heart.

I really liked these two as a couple and they seemed pretty stable. Lowe even made some nice statements in July about Mark’s sister Sam’s relationship, saying that she had met Lindsay Lohan and that they “their relationship is totally genuine. And they’re just so sweet together.” The same could be said of Ronson and Lowe, but it just wasn’t meant to be. We’ll have to see if this is true and if they stay split.

The good news is that Mark Ronson is probably single now.

Lindsay and Sam “make a lovely couple,” says brother’s girlfriend

DJ Samantha Ronson is the sister of famed music producer Mark Ronson, 32. Mark Ronson dates British model Daisy Lowe, 19, who told The Mirror that she had the chance to meet Samantha and her girlfriend, Lindsay Lohan, recently. She called them “a lovely couple,” and said that they’re “genuine” and “so sweet together.”

“I met Lindsay and Sam for the first time during the weekend before the Coachella festival.

“Sam is an amazing girl. The four of us had a brilliant time - a real laugh.”

And it seems that Daisy is also really taken with legendary party girl, Linds, 22. “Lindsay is really down to earth. Her and Sam make a lovely couple - they seem really happy.

“Their relationship is totally genuine. And they’re just so sweet together.

“Mark totally approves. But we’re not going to double-date again - I mean, would you go on a date with your brother? It’s just a bit weird and anyway they live in LA, so it’s kinda difficult.

“But I’d definitely love to see them again.”

[From The Mirror via The Huffington Post]

Last month Mark Ronson told The Mirror that Sam and Lindsay “make a cute couple,” so I think we have confirmation from Samantha’s family. Her brother and his girlfriend sound supportive, and it’s nice to hear someone close to the couple say kind things about them.

Lindsay’s family hasn’t been so gracious in their public comments about her relationship with Sam and have never acknowledged it. Her dad once sent an e-mail to US Weekly which dismissively said their relationship “is evident to anyone with half a brain,” but then tried to take it back and claimed that he never saw photos of his daughter holding hands or kissing Samantha. Lindsay’s mom denied that her daughter was anything more than friends with Sam. In an interview in mid May she said “They’re best friends. They’re just friends. It’s pathetic what people say.” She went on to call the rumors “Silly.”

Lindsay and Sam do make a cute couple, and by most accounts Sam is a great influence on Lindsay. It’s a shame Lindsay’s mom calls the rumors that her daughter is in a healthy and supportive relationship “pathetic,” but then that adjective has also been frequently applied to Dina herself. It’s also possible Lindsay hasn’t come out to her family because she assumes they’ll have a problem with it. Dina can justify her daughter’s partying and flitting around, including multiple DUI arrests, but when it comes to acknowledging that Lindsay has settled down into a relationship with a woman she just can’t wrap her tiny mind around it. You know that if Dina was ok with it she would have made some kind of statement, because she never hesitates to talk about her daughter to the press if it means she’ll get some attention too.

Gavin Rossdale not the greatest dad

gwengavin.jpg
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale seem to be such loving and doting parents. However it turns out that Rossdale has an 18-year-old daughter, British model Daisy Lowe. As Celebitchy previously reported, Lowe is the new model for Agent Provocateur. Gavin was friends with Lowe’s mother Pearl, and had a one night stand with her. Pearl always believed that her longtime boyfriend, an American traveler known simply as Bronner, was Daisy’s biological father. She named Gavin as Daisy’s godfather, and supposedly the two were pretty close until Daisy was a teenager. Then Daisy began to look more and more like Rossdale, and eventually he said they needed to get a DNA test.

Yet Rossdale was such an unusually devoted godfather, attending all Daisy’s sports days and parents evenings. Surely that’s the behaviour of someone who thinks they may be the actual father?

“We always thought there was a chance, but a remote chance,” Lowe explains. “In some ways it was our fantasy that he was the dad. We were so close. Best friends. So I wished he was but thought that he wasn’t.”

In 2003, Rossdale suggested that Daisy undergo a paternity test. He told Lowe that, as he had just married Gwen Stefani and they planned to start a family, it was time to sort this out. However, Lowe found it difficult to get him to take the test and it was eventually dealt with by lawyers. In 2004, DNA testing confirmed he was Daisy’s father. There was subsequent legal wrangling over a maintenance settlement.

The whole situation has soured their friendship. Lowe says she no longer has any kind of relationship with him. “No, he won’t talk to me.”

Does he talk to Daisy? “He did at first, but he was always shouting at her. And then he just stopped talking to her.”

Why? “I have no idea.” She can’t even find out via friends they have in common. “Because anybody who’s associated with me he’s cut off. Apparently I’m just this taboo subject he doesn’t talk about.””

[From the Sunday Herald]

Both Rossdale and his reps have refused to comment on Daisy. Several articles have claimed that his wife, Gwen Stefani, was absolutely furious when she found out. The two have an adorable son, Kingston, who they both seem to dote over. This story is so sad to read, especially because we only know one side. Having a father figure in your life, and then just losing him, must be incredibly hard. Apparently part of Pearl’s rant is that Gavin refuses to pay child support (Daisy was still a minor when her paternity was confirmed) and won’t reimburse Pearl’s husband for the years he spent supporting Daisy. Gavin comes off as such a jerk, but somehow it’s hard to believe that we’re hearing the whole story. It looks like Daisy is making quite a name for herself, completely apart from her father. She’s doing a lot of modeling, and has a great, edgy look to her. Hopefully she’ll rally, and continue to do well for herself.

Update by Celebitchy: In terms of Daisy Lowe being the new face of Agent Provacateur, I just read that Maggie Gyllenhaal is now going to take over for Kate Moss, not Daisy. We’ll have to see what happens. Daisy Lowe is shown below at a Blackberry party on 5/15/2007. Thanks to PRPhotos.
