This story came to us from a reader’s excellent tip. According to our source (who wants to remain unnamed, Twitter name: DiannSteph, who I will quote), LeAnn Rimes’ career has hit some major skids. Apparently, LeAnn’s next album has been delayed, and our source thinks it’s the combination of “poor ticket sales on her little acoustic tour” plus she thinks “it’s due to her media soundbites surrounding her affairs and the stupid ‘I don’t regret the outcome’ interviews to People.” This could be very true – I’ll admit, I never really considered that LeAnn’s recording and touring could be taking a hit because of her delusional insanity and her continued inappropriateness regarding Eddie Cibrian, Brandi Glanville and their sons.
According to this source, LeAnn is now in an awkward position with her record label, Curb Records – “it’s as if she’s now a development artist on her record label, Curb Records and not the major country star she used to be… just can’t get over that Leann Rimes who had major success from a young age has fallen like this to a development act, per se. You would never see Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift have this type of problem in their career. Neither should Leann, but I think her actions and mouth did it with the public.”
LeAnn even tried to address the album delay in a video post on her site:
LeAnn seems to want to put the delay out there like she’s just a perfectionist who wants to make sure everything is just right. But I’ve got to think LeAnn’s label is terrified with the possibility/probability that LeAnn will give more narcissistic, delusional interviews to “promote” her album, and that her insanity will ultimately hurt sales. By the way – we now know why LeAnn is on Twitter so much – she literally has nothing else to do.
Also: wouldn’t it be funny if LeAnn’s career suffered as much as Eddie’s acting career has? What if they’re both out of work? What if there’s no money coming in? What if LeAnn puts Eddie on a budget? Oooh, it would get SO GOOD.

I’m not into country music, but wasn’t Leann kind of over a long time ago, even before the Eddie thing? I mean, she was a big deal when she first came out as a young kid. She had a hit song from the Coyote Ugly soundtrack. That was years ago. I didn’t think she had been popular for quite some time. Am I wrong? Does someone who follows country music have insight on this?

I’ve been watching all this play out on twitter because it is pure gold! She’s been playing shows at places like Applebee’s Park and little venues…and all the while still constantly twitting about every move she makes and then there is a group on there that is out to make LR’s life a living hell on Twitter. I don’t think they come directly from BC, but they are definitely BC empathizers. And they spend HOURS tweeting back and forth about stories and then also sending tweets to media sources about LR. Its quite entertaining!

@Katie, I’ve listened to country my entire life. she was HUGE when she first came out. and she’s had a pretty steady successful career. Shes done lots of covers, had quite a few songs that were #1’s as well as landing on the Country Top 20 for months at a time. She hasn’t has the levels she did when she first came out, but she’s always had a huge and loyal fan base-until now.
I looked at some of the venues for her “tour” and lol’d!
God, if you’re going to be a homewrecker, don’t effing talk about it like you’re proud! People will generally get over it and eventually accept you again if you keep your mouth shut.
Her life really is a country song….”we can live on love….and grits”.
She hasn’t been “big” for a long time in country music and she has a long history of acrimony with her label. She was dubbed the next Patsy Cline with that “Blue” song but that sure as heck never quite panned out.
That said, this whole mess will not do her any favors. Country music fans are by and large extremely conservative. They don’t care for indiscretions, particularly from their females. Wynonna had a rocky time of it when she became pregnant out of wedlock (the horror!) The Dixie Chicks were completely frozen out after they mouthed off about George W. Bush. This dog and pony show LeeAnn has going is a disaster for her. The country music base won’t tolerate it.
And, honestly, she’s old news.

No I’m not the source but yippie-skip to “anon whoever”. I comment on many threads but it seems I’m getting a rep for LeAnn because she gets my juices going (not those juices).
If you follow country music, LeAnn’s down fall is no surprise. Every beloved country gal has a pristine rep because with Country, the artist as well as the music matters. None of that “who’s the most outrageous” stuff in Country. LeAnn’s latest song tanked the week after it was released and her video was soundly rejected by country music fans who don’t care for their gals parading around on stage in a bikini or looking/acting like a hooker.
I’m sure when LeAnn sat down with her “LA” PR people to devise her plan to separate a husband from his wife and children that they told her there’d be a rough patch but soon everyone would forget (not eff’n likely in Country). So while LeAnn thought she was floating and gloating among the clouds, she was in fact on fire in a free fall. She hasn’t hit the bottom yet, but her PR people seem to want to douse the flames with gasoline.
By the way, she’s furthering her pageantry as the queen of cancellation having dumped 2 concerts in the past week (concert goers get a bit ticked at that).
Even if she never sells another record, she won’t go broke. She should be very very rich and Eddie will be perfectly happy being married to a woman worth millions who doesn’t work. It’s the money he’s after.
Also, I believe LeAnne was not exactly well-known outside of country music until she got with Eddie. She’s always happy as a lark to be photographed by the paps and I’m sure she’s thrilled to be in the ragmags. I don’t think she has grasped the harm she is doing her career with the country music fans. She probably thinks everybody still loves her just because she sees photos of herself all over the Internet. I think she’s in for a surprise.
I don’t care about LR at all, but do feel sorry for her a bit.

I think the media picks up Leann’s OWN tweets – she tweets everything but the thread count of her sheets, so…(that’s her problem really). Focus should be music, and she is talented, but boy has her actions made her fall down the scale. She should be right there with CarrieU, MirandaL, TaylorS in sales. Maybe her next album? But it’s that image thing…the other 3 don’t have that problem.

Usually there is no such thing as bad press but in Leann”s case it seems that she has lost her fan base. I tend to believe country music fans favour that kind of behaviour.

@Eileen it’s because she’s not mature. I’m not trying to be mean to her, even though she does deserve it. I really feel like she’s lost out on her childhood and so she is reverting to childlike behavior. This is how girls act in highschool when they are fighting over a man. She’s obviously extremely insecure with her relationship, I mean she can’t be that oblivious to know that they didn’t meet in the best of circumstances and deep down she knows that he could possibly cheat on her as well. I would say she’s quite narcissistic but in a way I think she suffers from extreme insecurity. Great tweets and posts ya’ll. I think it goes to her delusion that she was on her bed while telling her “fans” about the delay of her record release. On the bed!! Gee, what message is she sending Brandi with that? As far as Deadbeat, what a steady downturn in his appearance. Guess that is what a short leash does to ya, his parents must be so proud. Whoever the source is sucks. They aren’t saying anything new or giving inside information, especially if you follow country music. LeAnn’s record and ticket sales have been poor for years. Of her last few albums, This Woman was the only hit cd/singles and that only went gold. I don’t recall her ticket sales but she’s been playing small venues (1000-3000 cap) for at least 10 years. I don’t know if the affair truely affected Leann but interest has been going down for awhile anyway.

I won’t bore you with all the details, but Andrew and this little piece of sh*t bodyguard she had working for her were in cahoots to get a hold of LeAnn’s money as they fancied themselves “screenwriters” and “producers.” Andrew pushed for LeAnn to jump ship at her record label and pushed for her to NOT tour behind her new record so she could stay in L.A. and pursue her, “acting career.” (READ: he could shop projects with her attached and use her name/money to get something going on in his nothing career). The lawsuits cost her a bundle and as we all know, you’re not going to litigate your way out of a recording contract — even if half-wit Andrew Keegan says you can. Her big “acting debut” scene was summarily cut. In 2001, Keegan and the bodyguard also tried to EXTORT $$$ out of LeAnn with some naked photos. Her mgrs. set up a sting and caught them. I don’t remember if Andrew was charged, but the bodyguard was. Lucky for LeAnn, the bodyguard and everybody else — the trial date was 9/11 2001. Obviously, the news was overshadowed by the tragic events of the day. Andrew Keegan is righteous trash.”

I love country music, which means that I don’t particularly care for LR, since she’s more MOR/AOR than country. Shame really, because I rather like her voice, but her material is weak.
But any overview of her career must take into consideration the POS label she is on. Curb Records is like some medieval prison. Its artists are serfs locked in the dungeon. The artists regularly record and try to promote on their own new material, which Curb sits on and never releases. Curb has even sued their own artists for recording duets on another label that were released for charity. Curb signs its artists when they are young and blind to ironclad multi year, multi record contracts that very few artists can ever get out of, and they all just languish away while Curb releases yet another greatest hits package. So if LR’s album is delayed, or never released, she’s in rather good company (ie everyone who has ever been on Curb).
I don’t condone husband theft, but I believe that LR is a bit of a trainwreck – bad family, bad management, artistic slavery, no childhood, and truly adolescent reactions and choices from her on all fronts. Picture the movie Amadeus, but with a bit of a twang. I actually sort of feel sorry for her.
I follow Leann on Twitter because I have always liked her music. I could care less about her personal life. I have my own to be happy in. I did have to take a moment to comment on the few people on Twitter who appear to spend more than half of their life bashing her personal life. Most of them have photos of children as their Twitter picture. I am concerned about these kids. Not only will they grow up as haters, they also have to be neglected. As a Mom, I could never spend the time they do stalking someone else’s life and be a good mom. Child Services need to get on Twitter and investigate these people. They have a problem that is no different to drunks or druggies.
LR tried to spin her outright lies and cheating homewrecking ways into being our fault because we are wrongly judgemental. Sorry to see how gullible YOU are to fall for that. We saw the footage of LR kissing EC which she denied happening. She used photo ops showcasing her “happy marriage” kissing the husband she was cheating on. She stalked EC at Lakers game. She had the kids last night at her house according to her own tweets, yet she tweeted EVERY hour on the hour (scroll down all her tweets, it’s all.day.long every day? How can she do that? LR did a concert in our little Canadian town this summer. Ticket sales were poor and she was boo’d which never happens here. Now she is playing casinos which is a clear sign your career is over. In this case its entirely her own fault and she deserves no pity IMO. That’s what you get when you ‘skank brag’.
