Bret Michaels denies affair with Miley’s mom, Tish Cyrus

Bret Michaels was on Fox & Friends yesterday to promote his new VH1 reality show, Life As I Know It. One of the first questions he was asked was whether he was having an affair with Tish Cyrus, Miley’s mom. Miley’s parents Billy Ray and Tish just filed for divorce last month after 17 years of marriage. There were rumors earlier this year that Bret had an affair with Tish around the time that he released a duet with Miley in February. He denied those rumors through his rep at the time, and on Fox & Friends Bret made it clear that he was “just friends” with Miley’s mom.

Don’t blame Bret Michaels.

The rocker denied rumors that he had an affair with Miley Cyrus’s mother, Tish, who last month split from Billy Ray Cyrus after 17 years of marriage.

When asked on Fox & Friends if he’d had an affair with Tish, Michaels replied, “The answer is no.”

“I’ve been friends with her family forever,” Michaels added. “It started out with me and Miley simply working on a song together. Her mom, Tish, likes “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” the first concert Miley ever saw was Poison, and so they wanted to remake it for the new record.”

Reports surfaced last week that the Poison frontman was the possible cause behind the Cyrus divorce. Last month, Billy Ray filed divorce papers in Tennessee citing irreconcilable differences.

Michaels insists his involvement with the Cyrus family has been strictly professional. “When I was in the studio, Miley came in and sang on my song … and that was it,” he said.

As for how Miley’s taking her parents’ divorce? A source close to the singer told PEOPLE last week, “she’s trying to keep everything private while her family works through this.”

I didn’t find Michaels’ denial all that convincing because he went on at length about how he knew the Cyruses. It felt like he was deflecting from the question, but maybe he thought that background was needed for context. I get the vibe that something happened but that Tish told Bret that her marriage was already over or something like that. Michaels seems like a man slut with some small amount of integrity (although I’m sure my opinion would change if I watched any of his dating shows), but it’s not like he’s going to say “yes, I did fool around with Tish a few times. I thought she was separated.” He sort-of denied it, and then he swiftly moved on.

Of course he would deny it. He is promoting a new show which focuses on his family life.

  2. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I just wonder when Bret found the time. When he nearly died from his diabetes, was in and out of the hospital or when he was reuniting with the mother of his children? I am sure Us Weekly knows.

  3. Praise St. Angie! says:

yeah, I’m not buying that denial.

he would go on and on during “Rock of Love” about how his girlfriend needed to understand what “road life” was like.

as in, “if you’re there, it’s going to be a lot of alone time because there’s a lot of work for me to do…and if you’re NOT there, expect that I’ll be shagging some other woman.”

so, regardless of him being back with his babies’ momma and having a show about family life, I TOTALLY believe that he gets some on the side.

EDIT: from a previous CB post…a quote from Bret…

“And now that I’m in a relationship, I can still have a great time with women. You just don’t go all the way.”

so, he gets BJs instead of a full shag.

I cant stand men like him, who lay claim to more dingity and respect than they truly deserve (when you look at their own behavior)- and thats quite a lot of men. (also women but they less often are so bold) They work hard to present that honorable impression, and are all protective and assertive about themselves as though they act with integrity.
    But who are they fooling!?
Im not saying anything about any sort of affair, and that is irrelevant- whats more upsetting to me is that this guy is a tramp and then tries to believe he is a family man. Somehow, the two just dont jive together in my book.
I dont know what it is about guys who view women as things to indulge in and take from and then throw away that just gets to me so badly. Probably the fact that it is in conflict with womens own efforts to lay claim to worth and value. So as much as I agree that everyone has a right to honor and should stand up for it, to some extent, I more strongly feel that they need to deserve the honor that they claim or at least ask for an amount that parallels their character and behavior. * folded arms and frowny face *

Is there something wrong with his forehead? Why is he always wearing that rag?

can’t hate on him for his duck & weave (LOL!) strategy.

  7. teehee says:

Add: and I might refer to what Praise St Angie said to back me up. I didnt even know about him saying that– and I barely catch a glimpse of him on the net (I dont watch tv) but the vibes I get form this guy are just 98% thoughtless and selfish skank.

  8. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

I also cant blame him not to cop up to it. I would rather hear a denial, crappy that it is, then to have all that aired out like dirty laundry.

  9. Marjalane says:

All you had to do was catch the clips of his nasty “dating” show to get that Brett Michaels is a manskank. How do you go from the “Rock of STD’s lovebus” show to a “Family” show is beyond me. I think it’s pitiful that he’s raising daughters.

Well, slap my a** and call me Sally. I’m shocked I tell you. SHOCKED.

    Not buying it either.

  13. original kate says:

i wonder what bret looks like after he takes off his bandana-wig, his eyeliner, bronzer and spanx? *shudder*

  14. sapphire says:

    @Original-you forgot his lip plumper!

    Does anyone believe him??

  15. craigc says:

let’s see his head!!!! Come-on Brett!
You can’t wear that shit forever!
    ahahahahahahahaha!!!!

  16. Jeri says:

Isn’t Tish still supposed to make/produce a movie about him or his album?

  17. california angel says:

You should check out at least the first season of ROL for it’s hilarity, it’s really actually hilarious, more campy hilarious, seeing as I really can’t get on board with the whole exploiting women craze. : ) Some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is pretty priceless, more for it’s incredibility than for it’s actually humor-value. Needless to say he would and probably has slept with every woman who has ever been willing and able, or he at least wants people to think that he still can. Either way, he reminds me so much of my brother, I can’t hate him, but he is really hard to take seriously.

    Damn, Tish is ugly.
