We haven’t heard news of Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift in a couple of weeks, but they’re still going strong. This week’s US Weekly has a story about their romantic semi-secret rendezvous at a London hotel for three days earlier this month. Right after the Country Music Awards, Taylor headed to London to meet up at a suite in a five star hotel with Jake. Taylor, 20, and Jake, 29, didn’t leave their room for two days, and ordered Chinese food delivered. Those kids.
In the middle of her busy Speak Now press tour, Taylor Swift jetted from Nashville to London on November 11 – and promptly holed up at the Dorchester. Already checked into the five star hotel? Her new beau, Jake Gyllenhaal, who had a suite on the same floor. “Taylor came early to be with Jake,” says a Swift source. “It was a love-in!” The tryst also marks the fourth weekend in a row [Taylor and Gyllenhaal] have spent together… Not that they want anyone to know. Swift’s arrival in London was so stealth even members of her own camp hadn’t heard about the last-minute itinerary change. “It was a secret” says a Swift source. Neither ventured outside the luxe hotel, and on November 12, Swift ordered in Chinese food. “It was enough for two or three people!” says a hotel source. Not even staffers caught a glimpse of them together before Gyllenhaal left for NYC November 13 (Swift flew to Japan the next day). But the romance is definitely heating up. “He’s crushing on her,” says a Gyllenhaal source. And Swift, says an insider, is “excited. She wants it to be official.”

Swift still seems too young to me for Gyllenhaal, but this is romantic! This story reminds me of when I was young and in love and just wanted to shut out the world with whatever new boyfriend meant the world to me at the time. Nothing is quite like new love when you’re young. And this story is cinematic in a way – young singer meets movie star for a weekend getaway at a hotel in London. They almost manage to avoid the press, but they can’t keep their love a secret. I’m sure I’ll feel differently once these two hit their first red carpet together and Taylor pens a bunch of sappy love songs about Jake. If they’re smart they’ll keep it quiet, though, and try to preserve this time as long as they can. It usually doesn’t last for celebrities and commoners alike.

Call me a cynic but this smells of a PR stunt. Whoever wrote this romantic getaway story needs a raise though.

This relationship seems off. I don’t know why but I don’t see it working out. Also unless there was a second London trip, I remember seeing photos of Taylor performing at an awards show and doing press in London. Which would mean the whole story was madeup.

Basically, US Weekly have printed some photos of rooms at the Dorchester and created a story around it. Ooh, that proves everything then!
Apparently they spent Thanksgiving together in Brooklyn. According to JustJared they hit up a coffee shop to buy beans and lattes. Their source? Some random girl tweeted that she served them. I could have gone onto Twitter and done that! Anyone can use social networking to say they served/hung out/spotted a celeb. So long as it sounds feasible, all it takes is one gossip mag/website to pick up on it and you have a story.
This entire relationship is based purely on conjecture – unsubstantiated tweets and Facebook “sightings”, nothing else. There is no proof other than some grainy photos of the two of them hanging out once in a group back in October but since then, the tabloids, gossip sits and their PR teams have gone balls out to try and convince people that this is ~real~. LOL, keep trying!

Stories with such details are always product of PR teams, there’s no way these tabloids can know such things unless they were with present at the dates. It means it is “leaked” to them.
I’m not buying this “romance”. Unless Jake Gylenhaal has the personality of soggy white bread, they can’t have much in common. I’ve seen Taylor interviewed several times in the last few weeks and she is BORING.
The main reason I don’t think it is a P.R. stunt I have never even seen a picture of them together. If they were faking it we would see them holding hands all over town. Take Ryan Seacrest for example who has so many awkward photos with his “girlfriend”.
This really makes me think he’s gay now.
I agree with all of you, it sounds like a madeup story, a sweet madeup story.

@mln, you don’t need to do a Seacrest to stage a PR campaign. Hough and Seacrest are massive famewhores who love the attention, so it’s natural that they would jump at photo ops. Jake and Taylor went out once on a Sunday for a stroll around Brooklyn, someone took photos and that’s the basis of this whole relationship.
When Jake and Reese first started dating, they were very discreet about it however; there were confirmed sightings and photos to prove it was more than a tabloid PR stunt. They were papped regularly going from one another’s houses, sitting in their cars together and eventually going on dates. They couldn’t go anywhere without being photographed. As for Jake and Taylor, they’ve been dating since October, taking minibreaks together and going out in public how many times now? Yet where’s the proof? On their “ice cream date” according to “sources” they even allowed people to take photos, even though Jake is notorious for saying no to photos, so where in the hell are these pics?
Jake and Reese went out of their way to hide their relationship for months yet they were still photographed. Jake and Taylor are apparently strolling around together happy as Larry for the entire world to see, yet funnily enough apart from a handful of unsubstantiated tweets no one has actually seen anything.
Isn’t Swift’s new hairstyle very similar to Reese Witherspoons only longer? Hmmm

You guys you can make fun of me for buying this but no one believed Reese and Jake at first either and they were together two and a half years. Also, Kaiser wrote the Ryan Gaycrest and Julianne Hough story, I didn’t. I am much more gullible than she is. I’m not really buying Ryan and Julianne but this one, I believe. Plus the fact that there’s only one blurry faraway photo makes me think they’re for real and are trying to hide.

Jake & Reese were trying to hide, sneaking from his place to hers because her divorce wasn’t finalised but and there are plenty of photos of them hooking up. Jake and Taylor are apparently doing the opposite, walking around openly, letting fans take photos whilst buying ice cream, chatting with locals long enough for someone to whip out a camera or a phone to take a pic but guess what? Nothing. If the paps can get photos of Jake and Reese sneaking around, then why on earth has no one managed to snap these two apart from that one time?
Also, if you’re trying to hide a relationship from the media, the last place you go to for a bit of nookie is The Dorchester because it’s a mecca for the paparazzi.

At last, someone actually remembered that most cell phones come with an inbuilt camera and that someone took a photo of Swiftenhaal in Nashville grabbing coffee and lunch at a place called Fido. They probably headed over there because no one in Brooklyn could give a hoot about Swifty long enough to take a pic.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I still think this is PR and I’m freaked out by how much they look like brother and sister here. Whatever, I’m waiting for the inevitable self-pitying song following their breakup in Jan/Feb next year.

Normally I don’t question others’ taste in relationships, because we’re all attracted by different qualities obviously, but, this is just odd. He trades in Reese Witherspoon for a much younger blonde who is just coming out of teenhood and clearly, if you listen to her music, is still a child in many ways, as are people in their early twenties, still trying to discover who they are. I guess that’s all I have to say before turning too judgmental.
I saw Love and Other Drugs last night. Why isn’t Jake with Anne Hathaway?! They were great together.
