The NY Post reports that Kelsey Grammer initially offered his estranged wife Camille $30 million as a divorce settlement, but that she’s holding out for $50 million, and substantial child support and alimony. Of course she is. It’s expected that Camille will get the $50 million and everything she’s asking for.
Meanwhile The Post may have a good explanation for why Kelsey is so eager to marry his 29 year-old flight attendant fiance, Kayte Walsh. They report that his rep denies that he’s marrying her because she needs a visa to stay in the US. Many of you have speculated that she’s pregnant again, but this visa angle should have occurred to me. Kelsey is said to be marrying Kayte without a prenup, because “he knows she’s the one and wouldn’t insult her by asking her to sign a pre-nup.” The dumb bastard.

“She has accepted their marriage is over and that he wants to marry Kayte in January. Camille wants it all over, too. But what she can’t accept is how he’s parading around Kayte, who looks like the cat who swallowed the canary. Their public make-out sessions are really insensitive because of their kids.”

You know that Camille doesn’t give a whit about her kids and barely ever sees them. She has four nannies that work in shifts so that she’s never responsible for caring for them. And if Kelsey’s “public makeout sessions” with Kayte bother her, what’s her excuse for carrying on with that Nick guy back when she thought that Kelsey was still her loyal husband? Nick even went to Vegas to be with her when Kelsey wasn’t there and she called him her “rent-a-husband.”
I’m torn about this, because I do feel if Camille ran Kelsey’s businesses with him and supported him through his sobriety she deserves her share. $30 million is astronomical though, and considering what a nasty opportunistic person Camille is, I would love to see her get a taste of life on five figures a year.

Ahhhhh! I had to watch these clips, for while I have never watched the show I actually met Camille and Kelsey in Cabo years ago and she rubbed me the wrong way then and I heard her a few times on Howard Stern (blech) and I couldn’t stand to think of watching her on TV.
But OMG! Her face when it is not moving is not that bad, but she looks like a movie monster when she talks. Her face looks like a plastic mask! Do these woman not realize how freaking horrible their faces look? Imagine, to spend all that money and do all that to your face so that you look good in pictures and like a franken monster in real life. Makes me re-think the botox that I really want to get in 2011!

Ok so he married her without a prenup and he made money while they were a couple so she gets half, I get that. What I don’t understand is why someone who claims to deserve half of everything because they were equal partners needs child support or alimony. If you follow her logic, she should be able to make her own future income because she was an equal partner and without her he wouldn’t have made the income that he did. So why would a court give her $50 mil and then order him to pay her money every month on top of that.

While I totally agree that she may not deserve the alimony on top of the payout, but the children deserve the child support with a trust fund set up for them. They need someone to protect
them, the court establishing this a writ may be a way. I think asking for alimony is the thing she is willing to give. You ask for the moon at the start of the neg, and deal from there. Even given what we have seen of Camille, Kelsey is still the one who abandoned the marriage.

When Camille & Kelsey married he was primarily doing Frasier show. After that he went into producing other shows, picked up tons of money in residuals of Frasier show and got lot of voice over work. The real estate investments had to take a hit in this economy.
Honestly I fee like the kids trust funds should be extracted from their total wealth. they should split the balance and then he should buy her out of the production company. If she is responsible for half of his wealth, she should also pay toward the children’s future. Shouldn’t be all on him- even if he is a DUMB ASS.

I just ended a very serious relationship with a man 20 years older than me, I also would have been his third wife. He always said things were different with me, but of course they weren’t! I so wanted to believe him and did for awhile. They eventually show their true colors.

He’s done some voice over work in cartoons, such as Toy Story 3 and other stuff, as well as theater work, I think. Supposedly she invested his money and grew his fortune through the investments. He also gets residuals for Frasier, which is on constantly. From what I understand, he wasn’t doing that well when they got together and most of his $100 mil fortune was made during their marriage, which makes her entitled to half, as opposed to monies he had earned prior to the marriage. Also, after he got with her, he stopped blowing it on coke, which helps a LOT.

A lot of these people who marry stars married them when they were already rich and famous, so I don’t see how they have any claim to substantial percentages of their cash when they split. I’m not crazy about Camille but think she should get everything she’s asking for from Grammer. It sounds crazy, but 50 million in that set isn’t all that much when you consider a house can sell for much more than that. LOL!
