It was just Monday when I wrote “Prince Harry will never convince Chelsy Davy to marry him” – a post that included Harry being cute with a dog, plus a tabloid story about how Chelsy loved getting dirty with Harry (I’m paraphrasing), but that she didn’t want to de-hussy herself to join the royal family at any point. Well, Life & Style is pissing all over that. Sort of. Their cover story this week is all about how Harry really wants to settle down with Chelsy – but it doesn’t really talk about Chelsy’s state of mind.
Prince William and Kate’s honeymoon is officially underway but back home, there’s already talks of another royal wedding! While Prince Harry and girlfriend Chelsy Davy’s relationship has had its ups and downs in the past, sources now tell Life & Style that Prince Harry is ready to follow in his brother’s footsteps.
“Harry told Chelsy he’s ready to settle down for good with her and make things official,” an insider reveals to Life & Style.
The couple, who met in 2004 when Harry visited South Africa, split in September 2010 before reuniting again in February, but now Harry says he’s ready to take the next step.
“Harry has been accused of cheating on her in the past [which he’s denied], and her friends at the time told her to ditch him because he was bad news. But now it’s the opposite,” a pal tells Life & Style. “Harry wants to take things up a notch with her, and he’s even asked her close friends to convince Chelsy that it’s worth taking a chance, that things could work out for them long-term.”
Surprisingly, her friends agree with Harry — they believe the 26-year-old prince has grown up a lot recently.
“Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen a massive shift in Harry’s character,” Katie Nicholl, author of The Making of a Royal Romance, tells Life & Style. “He’s settled down a lot more — he’s not falling out of nightclubs. He takes his military career incredibly seriously and has changed his lifestyle. I think we’re seeing the more grown-up Prince Harry, and that’s a result of his brother settling down too.”
Unlike his brother, Harry–or as the British press calls him “the spare”–is not the direct heir to the British throne so when he and Chelsy wed, there will be fewer rules for them to follow.
“As the spare heir, Harry wouldn’t be under the same pressure as his brother to have a big public wedding,” Nicholl tells Life & Style. “I suspect they’d want to get married in a more low-key ceremony, so the queen’s country castle at Windsor, where his cousin Peter Phillips [Princess Anne’s son] married, would be an option.”

I’ve noticed a change in Harry too – he seems… slightly more serious. I mean, he’s still a naughty, mischievous bastard, but he’s been doing more public appearances and royal duties, and he’s been overwhelmingly professional and adorable. So, will Hazzer and Chelsy settle down together? I doubt it, but I’ve been wrong before. At one point, I was pretty convinced that William would eventually dump Waity, so obviously, I’m not so great at predicting royal behavior. I just don’t think Chelsy would be into the royal life, and I can’t see the royal family being into her whatsoever.

Well, except Chelsy’s family has dough, so she won’t be selling influence. But she’s going to be just as big a train wreck in her own trashy way. Like the Honey Badger, Chelsy just does not give a fuck. She’ll do what she wants to do. I kind of hope she does marry him because the tabloids will be hysterical.
Also? I think she’s pretty, but that dress she wore to the wedding was seriously awful.
I doubt Harry is wanting to get married to anyone anytime soon. I’d be surprised if the Queen would be down w/him marrying Chelsy either.
Anyone else notice how, um, fuzzy she looked at the wedding? I am so not good w/getting myself done up, but I could have made it to the church w/out looking like I just got busy in the back of my limo.
I can’t believe that outfit she is wearing didn’t turn him off completely. That cream/white outfit is quite nice, though.
Finally! Prince Harry news. Cool! I have no idea if Prince Harry will marry Chelsy or any woman. I do really like these two as a couple as well as individuals. They seem much more real. I get the feeling that they are in love with each other. If they do get married I think Chelsy will have to adjust to all the attention or even criticism she’ll get. Seems like that’ll be the toughest part for her. She’ll be compared to Kate who the media loves now. Chelsy doesn’t come across as the type who likes having all eyes on her. If Chelsy truly loves Harry and vice versa they’ll marry IF this is what they both want. There’s isn’t media pressure for them to tie the knot like there was, imo, for William and Kate. More than anything I want Harry and Chelsy to keep it fun and stay happy. Looks like that’s where things are now.
She is a lawyer. She is no bimbo. She has a career now. So there’s photos of her partying back when. She’s young.
But I see the appeal. In many photos she’s very sexy and kind of cute in a natural way. Brains and good in bed with great boobs and body, nice combo.
But she has one of those faces that is not going to age well. But, of course, Camilla was the same way and she was Price Charles’ soulmate, so what do I know.
She’s dirty partying/dating material, not wife material.
I hope they get married. This is such a Diana & Fergie redo.

Harry is too young to get married. I agree with those who say this is Fergie part 2 if he does marry Chelsy(but at least her daddy has lots of money). Chelsy has a law degree, but time will tell if she will truly become a lawyer. The law profession is a demanding profession that requires much time(60+ hrs/wk according to my lawyer buddies), and discipline. If she doesn’t want to play the part of a royal then she shouldn’t be dating Princes. For someone who has lived a charmed life she certainly looks older than her years.
I much prefer Chelsy to “The One Who No Longer Waits”. She has the law degree; just wish she would get down to her job.
I do think, if they marry, she will really make Harry work for it. Good for her; she is so much more interesting than the other one.
I think part of her appeal to him might be precisely that she isn’t lining up for the life, as it were. She’s cool, she’s independent, she has a life of her own. She told him to sod off and went to law school – maybe he’s the type who needs a partner who won’t let him steamroller her. He probably doesn’t meet many women like that!
And that might be another reason he isn’t moving on from her – I doubt he meets women who aren’t immediately all ‘ohhh, princess’ at his feet. To start dating new people and find somebody he has a real connection with (and not somebody who is mostly in love with the idea of marrying a prince) might actually be pretty difficult…
I like her. I think they would make it. They both seem to have a really good sense of humor.
I hope he doesn’t marry her, he really should date someone more classy. Hazzer can have any woman in the world, and he wants to be with this Miss Piggy look-alike. Kate and William’s wedding was the perfect opportunity for Chelsy to turn up looking stunning, and instead she rolled up looking like she’d got up 5 minutes before leaving the house, wore a terrible badly fitting outfit, and her hair looked an absolute mess.

Harry isn’t ready to marry ANYONE never mind Chelsy. And for someone who supposedly “makes him work for it”, she’s sure stuck around for awhile hasn’t she?
I hope she doesn’t consider it – for her own sake. Say what you will about her but she’s educated, independent and perfectly happy with her somewhat skanky lifestyle. The palace hangers-on would crucify her and she doesn’t deserve that.
I think she’s very pretty and has enough baby fat on her face to age just fine. Also her body is slamming. And she will always have pretty eyes. But the best thing about her is she’s probably smart what with the law degree and all. Not that there aren’t stupid lawyers, but still. At least she isn’t just a socialite. I like her vibe.

Zzzzzzz: Do you really think that Chelsy has been a doormat for Harry the way Waity was for William? She’s dumped him at least twice, moved back to Africa (back in the UK now) and has a law career waiting for her if she would just get to it. I still think she’s going to make him work for it. Harry is pursuing her, not the other way around; unlike the other two.
@JulieM – I’m not convinced Kate was a doormat for William though. She may have waited for him to propose but is that such a horrible thing? Chelsy keeps getting back with Harry, that doesn’t really make her any better to be honest. There’s a reason they keep breaking up and eventually one of them is going to wise up to it and leave for good. And I don’t think it’ll be her. Just my take on it.

She may be working, but she is still hanging around Harry. They’ve been off and on for 7 years now. 2 years from now if she and Harry are still doing this back and forth thing, they’ll have been dating as long Kate and William did before they got engaged (which Chelsy says she doesn’t want yet she keeps getting back with Harry).
Like I said before, Harry is probably going to end up like his Monaco relative Albert! Not get married until he absolutely has to.
There is no way that this young man, the world’s most eligible bachelor, who probably has trouble walking through the streets what with all the panties being thrown at him, is in any hurry to get married. It’s absurd! I see him doing the bachelor thing for a good 20 more years. And he should!

Admittedly, I don’t keep up with royal goings-on, & only know very basic things about William & Harry. So I can only go from my opinion based on what I do know.
She… doesn’t seem like royal marriage material. I haven’t even seen much about her, but somehow in every picture, I get the feeling that she’s trashy… Just something about the way she carries herself doesn’t say ‘classy’.
But even so, the only person who’s opinion matters is Harry. He shouldn’t be pressured to date/marry a certain type of woman.

I thought it was very strange how vapid, if not a bit ill, both Chelsy and Harry looked at the royal wedding. First Chesly shows up in that awful outfit. That cream outfit she wore with Harry in his uniform (last picture) was way better than the greem vomit outfit. And that saucer hat or whatever it was? Plus her face. Gosh, like she went on a bender and woke up an hour before she had to be at the Abbey?
Harry didn’t look any better! He was so pale, more than usual, and I half expected him to keel over any moment.
I doubt those two will get married. Harry just doesn’t have that kind of need to marry that William did. If he does marry Chelsy it will end up like Andrew and Sarah. Passionate at first, but the royal life does it in.
Seeing is believing
I’ve met Chelsea in Zambia ( where her family is currently based), actually a week before the royal wedding and it is fair to say that she is minging!Nice legs and eyes but she is not pretty and has the most awful Zimbabwean horsey accent!Plus she is full of herself and kept on acting like everyone wanted to pap her- sorry girl no one here is checking for your ass!! I think Harry can do better!!
Africa – Actually a week before the wedding chelsy was in bostwana with Harry.. how can she’s been in two different countries at the same time?
@ Mi- Botswana and Zambia are 2 hours apart by air. Her family were opening a huge residential housing park and a restaurant called Roma House. They were all there , including her to support her family.Real talk.
Everyone seems so concerned about how “trashy” Chelsy is and whatnot, but in my opinion, more power to her. Clearly, given her parents and who she is dating she could take it easy and live off someone else for the rest of her life. I respect her for choosing the path of more resistance.
She seems like an under-the-radar smartie and I like her for being able to have fun while achieving things in her own right.
Maybe I’m just falling for the brilliance of her PR team (if she even has one), but I see someone who could have taken a much easier path, yet still wants to work hard, and even if she has way more opportunities than I do/did finishing college I still think it’s respectable that she wants to continue improving her mind. as long as i’ve known of harry, there was always some sort of “conflict” between these two lovebirds. they never had that stable stage where it was all good news about them. if they bring this into a marriage, good luck to them. either way, with chelsy’s attitude, she’s not gonna last long in the BRF. she’s either gonna be a fergie or a camilla. and i agree with out of africa, she is minging and with all the fame she gets, she probably acts like she’s hot shit.
