Angelina Jolie covers Vanity Fair’s October issue, talks about directing

jolie11

Would you like a giant closeup of Angelina Jolie’s head? Why not?!? Jolie covers the October issue of Vanity Fair, and I’ll admit to squealing a little when I saw that she had gotten a VF cover again. I believe this is her fourth Vanity Fair cover in six years. She deserves it, although historically, I find her interviews with the magazine a little hit-or-miss. I usually enjoy her Vogue interviews a lot more. Anyway, Angelina did the cover because she’s promoting her feature film directorial debut with In the Land of Blood and Honey. The photos were done by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. VF has already released some highlights from the piece:

Despite recent reports, Angelina Jolie assures Vanity Fair contributing editor Rich Cohen that there is “no secret wedding” in the works for her and Pitt. “I’m not pregnant. I’m not adopting at the moment,” the star tells Cohen.

“Brad thinks I’m going to be a nightmare,” Jolie jokes, telling how directing her new movie, In the Land of Blood and Honey, has changed the way she will approach her acting career. “I had such a good experience he thinks I’m going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it’s the most complicated thing in the world.”

“I’ve never felt more exposed. My whole career, I’ve hidden behind other people’s words,” Jolie tells Cohen of her screenwriting and feature directorial debut. “Now it’s me talking. You feel ridiculous when you get something wrong.”

“I had the flu,” Jolie says of how she came to write the script. “I had to be quarantined from the children for two days. I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don’t watch TV and I wasn’t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn’t know any other way.” She says she then let Brad take the script to read on a trip: “He called and said, ‘You know, honey, it’s not that bad.’”

Jolie admits she did not initially intend to direct the film. “It was something I didn’t trust out of my hands,” she explains. “So by default I ended up putting myself in as director.”

Of her decision to use all unknown actors from the region, she says, “It couldn’t be anybody else. It’s their story. It was important that they were willing to do it. If none of them were willing, I wouldn’t have made it.”

Jolie does elaborate on Brad’s supportive role throughout the project. “He’d come in and say what he liked or what he didn’t understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things. He’s been so supportive. But it’s hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don’t think he’s a fair judge.” But she goes on to say that “people will judge for themselves. I think if you make a good movie people walk away arguing.”

Before shooting, Jolie says, she sent the script to “reporters and writers, people of Serbian and Bosnian nationality who’d been through the war. I was gauging the accuracy…. If they said no, I wouldn’t have done it.”

[From Vanity Fair]

As I’ve said before, I’m worried about this movie. A lot. I don’t know how “You know, honey, it’s not that bad” becomes “Let’s give Angelina $15 million to direct her own script.” Now, I’m glad that Angelina is challenging herself as an artist, and I think it’s cool that she wrote a script and followed through and all of that. I will also defend Angelina against the accusations that the storyline she wrote is somehow offensive to women in general or Bosnian women specifically. My concerns about the film are more superficial than that – I just wonder if the film is going to be any good. Like, will it be watchable? Or will it just be a movie star’s ego up there on the screen?

‘You know, honey, it’s not that bad.’

O, God. This movie is going to be… I dunno. I’m worried, too. Also, I hate both these photos. The top one is downright scary. And the bottom one is just weird. Why did they photograph her from that angle?

PS I known that there are a lot of Angelina fans on this site who will probably yell at me and/or anybody else who dares to criticize her, but trust me, I’m not a hater. I love Angelina. I just don’t think these photos do her justice. And the fact that she’s beautiful and charismatic doesn’t necessarily make her a good director and/or screenplay writer, either, but we’ll see, won’t we?

  2. Eve says:

    LOVE these pictures.

Most beautiful face on the planet.

About the movie…I’d be worried if she was entitled like James Franco. But I don’t think she went all “artsy” about it and tried to stick to just telling a love story. It may end up being good after all.

  3. toto says:

i like first picture but it would be great if it was for Cleopatra film the tan and features made it perfect to see Cleo in the remake and how might she looks in the movie

  4. Bite me says:

Am still staying neutral until I see anything about this movie… However some guy from awards daily who has seen a the movie think it’s Oscar material, got that info. From another site

  5. rosa says:

Vivienne is so cute, and Zahara’s hair are gorgeous this way.

  6. Eve says:

By the way, I like her eyebrows like this…not sharp thin like they used to be for a while.

  7. Toot says:

I think the photos look the way they do because of the photographers used.

As for Angelina as a screenwriter, the actors who read it thought it was good. One being Rade S., who’s been in quite a few movies and wasn’t interested in doing the movie until Angelina sent him the script.

I’m looking forward to seeing it, and will wait to pass judgement then

  8. mln76 says:

Well it’s shown up on some Oscar watchlists and not loonie sites but actual people in the industry who’ve actually seen it call it a dark horse contender for best picture. I think it’s great that she’s taken this chance cuz we know how eager the media and others are to tear her down. Can’t wait to see the VF cover.

  9. truthSF says:

I think the people working on the photoshopping angle likes to Photoshop beautiful ppl to where they’ll look alien-like.

Cause what other reasons do they have for messing with her face.

  10. lisa says:

I’m not worried. there are Directors around that have been doing it for YEARS and don’t do well

The movie has gotten some good buzz from those that have seen it. Not going the Oscar route but I think she has probably done a good job. I do think people will judge her harsher than others.. but she is use to that and has not made her change the way she lives her life.

there is not even a trailer so why anyone is “concerned” is a bit premature.

The cover is lovely. Not many actresses get the face only. I prefer that to those stupid OUTFIT covers when it is all about the clothes that no one cares about anyway. And how many times have we seen the same outfit different actresses on various covers. Anyway she didn’t pick the pictures they used.. the editors did that.

I want to see her and the kids. Other actresses have done that so why not her.

This is going to be a comment heavy thread..

    LOL.. always is..

    Go Angie..

  11. Eve says:

    @ TruthSF:

This particular alien can abduct me anytime (I’m afraid of the anal probe though).

  12. Cherry Rose says:

I think Angelina is a beautiful woman, but that Vanity Cover just doesn’t do her any justice, in my opinion.

    Her eyes however, look stunning.

  13. smh says:

I really hope this film isn’t about a Bosnian woman who falls for her rapist. There was a report like that once, then came another negating that, and now I guess we’ll have to wait and see. It could be best to wait for reviews until seeing this in a theatre. if it is indeed about a woman falling for her rapist; I’ll personally skip the movie (it could even lead to a boycott by feminists tbh)

  14. alex says:

Can’t wait to see the movie and to get the magazine. That is Shiloh I believe and not Vivi and she is in a dress how cute

  15. aenflex says:

love the pic of her and the kids

  16. Lilly says:

Awful cover and she is back at pimping her kids to sell her work. Lame.

  17. Toot says:

It’s not about a rape victim falling in love with her rapist. One of the actors did an interview where he said that idea was sick and he would never be in a movie like that, but couldn’t go into all the details.

I’ll never understand the idea that if Angelina has pictures with her kids it will some how help sell movie tickets, but whatever.

  18. Addie says:

Love her, love her family and love how she takes risks in life and in work.

Wish her the best with this movie.
With all the remakes of classic movies happening, I’m glad she came along with her own ideas and creativity, something lacking in Hollywood these days.

Zee looks shy in this pic.

  19. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I love the photos. I think the cover is very artistic. I guess because I am more of an outside the box thinker, any way, I like seeing things done differently. I think Angelina has a beautiful face and I liked the way they photographed her. Its not the typical magazine photos and photoshoot. Love the picture with the kids. I really want the magazine if they got some adorable family shots.

I think any real Angelina Jolie fan would be EXCITED to see Angelina’s directorial film debut…not worried. I am sooo excited for Angelina right now!!!! Angie is gonna do a fantastic job.

  20. zephyr says:

Perhaps Brad read the first draft.

  21. Bite me says:

I was watching the today show, and rich Cohen the reader of the piece was on anyway, from the pix they show, u can’t see any of the children faces… My favorite vanity fair px are the ones with her and Maddox from a couple of years ago

  22. LadyJane says:

“I don’t watch tv”. Anyone else remember her comment a while back about getting in a ‘lotion trance’ while watching the news on tv? I guess if it doesn’t involve being sexy and intellectual, she isn’t portraying it. Or maybe saying she doesn’t watch tv adds to the creative tension of her story: pacing in the French attic, under ‘quarantine’ from her children. God this woman is a DRAMA QUEEN.

  23. LadyJane says:

Perhaps her quarantine was going cold turkey from the H. Nicer to say ‘flu’.

  24. Moops says:

I dunno, I just call b.s. on this whole, “I wrote a screenplay in 2 days while I was sick with the flu” story. I mean, if any other actor said that we’d be all over him or her crying foul. I might believe that she got started on the screenplay while sick, maybe even got a very rough draft done. (Although the rest of us, when convalescing from the flu, are barely able to drag ourselves to the bathroom.)

My cynical ass believes that Angie, like every other celebrity taking a stab at writing, came up with a rough idea but the majority was done by “editors” (read: ghost writers) who were far too eager to help a celebrity and make a little money in the process.

  25. alex says:

I agree toot and when other stars photograph with their kids it is fine. Double standard much

  26. N.D. says:

I don’t like covershot. The other pic is OK if a little overstylized.

As to her movie – it’s her first try, she had a modest budget mostly comprised of her own (and Brad’s) money – she doesn’t need it to be huge success moneywise or with critics to feel satisfied. I hope she’ll continue to do it as she seems to enjoy it so much more than acting nowadays.

  27. alex says:

It didn’t take long for the thread to become nasty huh.

  28. Addie says:

Why did they make the cover pic look like Angie has no neck???

Why over photoshop such a beauty?

  29. sandy says:

Photo-shopped or not that face is stunning…I can’t lie

  30. Gal says:

This is exactly why I cancelled my subscription to VF. I still haven’t forgiven then for putting her on the cover right after Dennis Hopper died and gave him a piece IN the mag. Not cool!

  31. Melissa says:

Gorgeous. I’m starting to like her more and more. I will definitely see her film. 🙂

  32. damourkrist says:

Hmm, when Sarah Jessica Parker posed with her children for a magazine she was called out on pimping them. Why not Saint Angie?
Then you have Brad complaining about the paps.

  33. alex says:

LadyJane: You poor thing, I hope you get help for your H.problem

  34. alex says:

    Gal: okeeeeeeeeey dokeeeeey lol

  35. Cheyenne says:

I’m not worried about this movie. If it’s good it’s good and if not, it’s another step in the learning process. Nobody’s forced to go see it.

@Ladyjane: unless you have proof she is on H, that was one of the most idiotic comments I’ve read on this blog. Tabloid gossip isn’t proof, whatever you think to the contrary.

  36. olivia says:

Holy sh&t!! This woman is a genius! She is in the attic for 2 days and she creates a film script! Wow! I mean, it takes years for Spielberg or Lucas to come with a script but she does it in 2 days!!! Give her Oscar. Now!!

Those pics are creepy. I really hope sites start calling her out for her repeated use of her children in photos – particularly since just last promotion for Pitt he was whining about their lack of privacy. Why is it few in the media ever call them on their hypocrisy?

  37. alex says:

lmao at the haters. They are so funny

  38. Bite me says:

Ladies please don’t feed the trolls

  39. Ell says:

I’m always torn with Angelina, I think in some ways her heart’s in the right place concerning good causes etc but on the other hand she really does like to portray herself as superhuman. No-one could single handed care for six young children, go on humanitarian trips, act, write and direct without a lot of help.

Whenever her and Brad leave a building with the childen it looks like they’re managing the kids alone, now and again you get to glimpse the nannies (who do most of the work in reality). So the ‘I wrote a screenplay in two days with flu statement’ compounds that superwoman image people are desperate to believe in.

I don’t like the pics, Angelina has better pap shots. I think photographers don’t know what to do with her beauty. They should stop trying so hard, just shoot her in a natural, simple way.

  40. jc126 says:

She’s one of the few people on the planet who can still look good at such a close distance from the camera. Normally that angle is so unflattering, even if someone is attractive.

  41. velourazure says:

i don’t know too many other hollywood types who would have their face that big on a magazine cover.

  42. manta says:

I can’t help thinking about Beyond borders when I read about her picture (war, romance, refugees).
Since it was absolutely horrible ,I’ll probably pass this one.

  43. Cheyenne says:

Hey Olivia, see that nice big picture on the cover? You can blow it up, tape it to your wall and use it for a dart board. Will that make you feel any better?

    🙄

  44. Sakyiwaa says:

    Oooh i love her… I love her… I love her!
    Wish her best!
What Bite Me said. DONT FEED THE TROLLS.

They ve SURRENDERED to her AWESOMENESS already!

Love all the Brad name-dropping… HAWT!

  45. Cheyenne says:

Bite me: Ladies please don’t feed the trolls
    ===============================================

You just gave me a visual of a bunch of trolls in cages reaching their hands out through the bars…

  46. theaPie says:

    Beautiful.

  47. silken_floss says:

Not really feeling that cover, but she is truly a beautiful woman. She was ABSOLUTELY STUNNING in The Tourist.

  48. Mia says:

Love her. Not overly thrilled with the cover, but the inside photo of her, Zahara and Viv is very pretty.

  49. Lindsey says:

I actually love this cover. It’s Chuck Close-esque, but obviously photoshopped.

  50. sam says:

I read it over a couple times, and I’m not getting where it says she wrote the script in 2 days. The 2 day flu quarantine was the catalyst for why she started writing the script, but not seeing where she finished it in 2 days; only that when she wrote, she started at the beginning and went sequentially through to the end, as opposed to skipping.

Anyways, I think they photoshopped her a bit. But still is a beautiful cover.

  51. carrie says:

very photoshopped pix:she’so beautiful that it hurts my eyes

  52. lucy2 says:

Her eyes look beautiful on the cover, but it’s a bit too close up for me. Those super close up photos are always oddly unsettling to me!
I don’t care much for her as an actress, but maybe she’ll turn out to be a good writer/director. I could see writing the basics quickly, but I’m sure it was a lot of work revising it after that, it wasn’t complete in 2 days. The film doesn’t sound terribly appealing to me, but it is good to see another woman stepping behind the camera.
I just don’t like when anyone puts their kids in publicity photos shoots, SJP, JLo, or these 2. Especially when the kids have been elevated to an unnatural celebrity status before they can ever comprehend it, like the JP kids or Suri Cruise.
If it were me, I’d chose to not encourage public interest in my private life and family, but as this isn’t the first and won’t be the last time they’ve done so, clearly they’ve chosen differently.

  53. carrie says:

@lucy2: i agree with you on the kids

  54. Rena says:

LOL at some of these negative and harsh comments and outright lies, right off the bat. Without even seeing a trailer or reading a screenplay/script or even an acurate verifiable synopsis of the film. Well the subject is Angelina Jolie, and right on time as usual out of the sewers come some denizens with all kinds of falsehoods and baseless allegations. I see Irene and all the other natural and manmade disasters haven’t diverted or swept clean the vile delusional obsession some continue to possess about this strong woman. Their insanity continues unabated.

Like the cover, it shows a real unafraid of life 36 year old woman’s face, not hawks some designer clothes. And as with SJP Angelina is a mother and having some of your kids shown in a magazine interview is the norm these days is it not?

I have no idea as to whether this film will be “good” or not. I admire someone who has the courage and fortitude to follow their own path in life and ignore do nothing critics, and to not settle in a safe niche and stay there for life. I plan to see the film.

And yes a screenplay can be written in 2 days, if one is literate and able. Ask any student who has waited to the last possible moment and then writes a 75+ page paper in 2 days, LOL.

And btw a true “lady” is one who does not attempt to spread malicious vile complete lies about another person due to their delusional merging of tabloid lies with the reality they refuse to accept.

  55. Sakyiwaa says:

I loooved the Angie and Maddox shoot in the VF 2004 too! Especially the one where he was tugging on her boot. So cute! Did that boost the box office for ‘Alexander’? UHH, I think not!

  56. Duh says:

Actually, talking abut brad and showing the kids makes me NOT want to see her movies. She thinks talking brad and showing her kids will help? It hasn’t in the past. I used to like her until she got with Pitt and became like Katie Holmes in her interviews… A robot.

  57. Sakyiwaa says:

@lucy2 and carrie; I agree with you ladies largely… But can you blame these mags and the celebrities? I think, not always, especially when they ‘know’ the ‘interest’ in their offspring is actually THERE?

Do you know people had near-aneurysms trying to figure out how Suri, Shi, the twins, even Pax looked like when they first heard about them?

Halle Berry, Pink & Matt Bellamy have all complained about pap interest in their offspring.

At least, this way, people’s interest and curiosity is satisfied in a more controlled environment.

It’s really like the ‘lesser of two evils’…

  58. alex says:

Duh : boohoo. Angie is crying cause you don’t like her. Some people are nifty lol

  59. Mia says:

Thanks for the pictures, Edita! She is a gorgeous woman.

  60. LOVE ANGELINA says:

@Edita You freaking rock. All those pics were just stunning and so cute seeing Angie with her babies. I had chalkboard at my house when I was lil too. LOL

  61. Edita says:

You’re most welcome Mia & LOVE ANGELINA.

Here’s an interview with Mr Cohen, who did the interview with Angelina. There can you see the pics, too.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENrZM7fU_l8&feature=player_embedded

  62. Sakyiwaa says:

@lucy2 and carrie; plus, If I were the kid of a mega celebrity, I’d appreciate the situation being explained to me.

Like Im sure when Zee asks, ‘why do these people yell our names? And take pictures?’ Id rather Angie said ‘cos I do the kind of work that makes people want to see photos and they think my kids are pretty special so they take your picture too.’

Who thinks Empress Zee and Viv wouldnt be happy to take a picture then?

Truth and transparency are better than painting a spiteful, secretive picture of the situation…

  63. Gal says:

My point being regarding the cover for Anjelina Jolie: Dennis Hopper was an iconic, longtime movie actor in some of the most well known, important films in history, a sculptor, a painter, giving his last interview before his death and VF chose to give the cover to AJ. Not forgiven.

  64. Cheyenne says:

Dang, the older she gets, the more beautiful she gets. It ain’t fair.

  65. Sakyiwaa says:

@Duh. Um, who spat in your coffee…? Not… Angelina!

I only see the movies of actors I ‘still’ like too, so no need to torture yourself. Nobody’s gonna hold it against you.

*giggling uncontrollably* sorry, Bite Me, I couldn’t resist…:-)

  66. foozy says:

what a beautiful picture with the kids and all…

  67. netz says:

OMG, should we now believe this played happy family?
Ok, let yourselves be fooled by these liars.

To Brad: this gangster pants are ridiculous.

  68. Eve** Oh,you make me lol!! Yes indeed, isn’t she the most beautiful face on the planet,or any other planet that she decides to visit after abducting you.(BTW,lets go watch this movie together)Brazil is swimming distance from the States, right??

  69. Sakyiwaa says:

@Gal. Yeah, me too! I couldn’t BELIEVE they did that to Dennis Hopper!

And love AJ n all, but I was like ‘where the heck is Dennis’ cover’?

    Must be that Rich Cohen…

Prolly thought AJ was ‘the bizness’ 😉

Well, U and I know it was Hopper… Shizz, they done him wrong!

  70. lucy2 says:

Sakyiwaa – if doing the controlled environment photoshoots stopped the paparazzi from hounding kids, I would absolutely agree with doing it. But it doesn’t, unfortunately. All those celeb kids are still photographed constantly.
I can understand the first photo stuff more, to take the prize away from paparazzi – though I like the trend of tweeting it to fans rather than selling to magazine covers. But beyond that, to get the initial curiosity out of the way, I don’t get continuing it with more photoshoots as they grow. I feel like that only adds to public interest rather than satisfying the curiosity.

I imagine the paps are a difficult situation to explain to a kid, and I 100% agree it’s best to explain it than be secretive or make them be scared of it, but I don’t think I personally would extend that to including them in publicity photoshoots.

BTW – I appreciate the conversation!

  71. teri says:

Just beautiful and an amazing woman all around.

  72. sandy#1 says:

i love ms. Jolie, she is one of the most beautiful women (i think in the world) but i do not like this cover, i will see this movie, love the kids, her eyes are hypnotizing, whew.

  73. alex says:

Well thank goodness their kids are not yours. Let them raise their kids the way they want too and you all do the same for yours

Oh yes let blame AJ for getting the cover of VF instead of DH

  74. Duh says:

Well, sakiwhatever, I think Angelina wants people to watch this movie. Unfortunately she turns a lot of people off these days and her interviews are all the same sugary sweet goodness just like Holmes the robot wife. Duh. She comes off a lot faker than she did before. That’s all I’m saying.

  75. anon says:

@Edita: Thanks for the clip and the pictures. Zahara’s face in her baby picture with her mom (at the end of the clip) is so cute, she already has her don’t like the paps face in place 🙂

  76. Crash says:

OMG. The ppl that think this woman is “St Angie” really need to base their opinions on more than how she looks. Besides, who the hell knows how she really looks? All these moviestars (gag!) are photoshopped to within an inch of their lives. She is so ridiculous. She wrote the thing in “2 days”?? She gets impatient with other incompetent film people?? She is a narcissist through and through. There’s a blind on Gawker today about her. The evil bitch with the black streak a mile wide. Mark my words. That is the real Angelina. Poor Brad.

  77. mln76 says:

Yeah the way I read this- she wrote a first draft while sick, she then did some research and finished it not that it was complete in 2 days. Also writers have different speeds-Clint Eastwood writes and shoots his movies really quickly but Speilberg takes longer. You can also find novelists like Joyce Carole Oates who literally churns out startling brilliant 600 page novels. Some people’s brains are wired that way. AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF PICS OF THE NANNIES.

  78. Lindy says:

I’m not a huge AJ fan in general, but I do hope her film is a success–I think we need more women producing, writing, and directing. That’s the only way there will ever be meatier, more nuanced, interesting roles for women IMO.

  79. blonde on the dock says:

Cheyenne are you on Angie’s payroll by any chance?

  80. Sakyiwaa says:

@Duh. Okay. I hear you. I’m all for ‘not going to see a movie, cos you can’t stand the actor’, that’s all I said. I ascribe to the Convention Against Self-Torture…

Actually, AJ critiqued other directors for making ‘directing’ sound so difficult in her piece… And said Brad thinks she’s gonna be a nightmare for them to work with now… I don’t think Holmes would ever say stuff like that. But hey, whatever rocks your boat…

My name’s Sakyiwaa (pronounced sé-chi-wä). It’s African and means ‘one who drives away darkness’.

But thanks for ‘mutilating’ it ;-). Peace!

  81. mln76 says:

Oh gosh that ‘blind item’ is one of the dumbest ever first off it was a tab cover story a month ago and everyone agreed it was BS then. Angelina doesn’t have time to worry about that loser it’s rumored Javier Bardem and Daniel Day Lewis are doing Cleopatra.

  82. Sakyiwaa says:

@blonde on the dock. No… Cheyenne just knows an AWESOME woman when she sees one.

  83. Gal says:

I didn’t blame AJ for the cover, I blamed VF. That’s why I don’t subscribe anymore.

  84. Sakyiwaa says:

    @Crash. ROTFL! A blind on Gawker…! THIS is I have to see…

    Link, please?

  85. Eve says:

    @ HorsePoorHanna:

You may try…but be aware of the sharks (although…they’d be probably nicer than the trolls we see here) 🙂 .

Seriously, I think these pictures are gorgeous.

  86. Munkey says:

@Sakyiwaa: I’ve always wondered how your name was pronounced. Not surprisingly, I’ve been butchering it terribly in my head, lol. Anyway, it’s a beautiful name 🙂

OK, now I’m going to flee before I say something that gets me in trouble!

  87. Mia says:

That blind on Gawker would make more sense if Salt 2 had a script. Wait a minute…the original blind was for Cleopatra? Since that didn’t take, now it’s about Salt (got that from In Touch). So ridiculous.

  88. Josephina says:

Good grief!!! This woman is stunning!!!

    Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!

Her eyes, cheekbones, skin, mouth…so unfair…

This is a bold cover. The type of picture taken is usually shot with super-models who are uber-beautiful. Wow, I love it.

I will reserve judgement on the movie until I see it. I am glad she exercises courage to branch out and challenge herself as an artist. She is always evolving as a person.

Gotta love how she holds herself accountable to personal growth, aims high and keeps it moving. She is beautiful inside and out.

This world needs more people like her, a person who self-corrects herself and pushes herself out of her own comfort zone.

  89. Isa says:

I don’t like the pictures. I love Angelina but don’t like the pictures. I like the second one with her kids but her eye looks weird to me. I too worry about the movie sucking. If it does we will never hear the end of it.

  90. Sakyiwaa says:

@lucy. Lovely reply. I agree with your viewpoint. I certainly hope they don’t make it a frequent thing, especially if the kids don’t like it. 🙂

  91. Cheyenne says:

Oh for heaven’s sake Blondie, don’t be so snide and bitter. It doesn’t become you. She’s a beautiful, intelligent woman who has more going on in her life than laying around on the beach and blow-drying her hair. Give her some credit for what she’s accomplished. She made the cover of VF for something other than a tear soaked sob-fest. I don’t know if this film will be any good but I commend her for branching out in new directions.

  92. bee says:

Posts about AJ always make me lol. Well, the comments after do. Some people have their lips totally glued to her ass!

  93. Flan says:

    Kind, smart and strong woman.

Am looking forward to the film.

Agree that more women directing is an essential thing for the film industry.

  94. Alex says:

bee: Apparently so do you cause your ass is right here

  95. Cheyenne says:

@Sakyiwaa: I think you name is lovely. What part of Africa are you from, if you don’t mind my asking?

  96. Alex says:

    Crash: bitter much lol

  97. Alex says:

Angie’s posts always bring out the crazies from under their rock.

  98. Bite me says:

Ot… I see Jon voight is spending some quality time with grandkids… Popsugar has pix… U know what that means ladies. Aj wants to use Jon influence to win another Oscar lol

  99. alex says:

Bite Me: lol you know that is exactly what they will say. Haters are so predictable lol

  100. mln76 says:

@Bite me really??? Jon Voight has burned his bridges in liberal Hollywood hence he can’t get more going than a TV show on Fox. If she wants to schmooze for another Oscar she’d be after Scorsese or Eastwood.

  101. Toot says:

    @Alex

Your post are cracking me up.

  102. blonde on the dock says:

    I rest my case!

  103. Ally says:

I’m impressed she hired local actors.

There’s a picture of her with most of the cast in the September Vanity Fair.

  104. Maureen D. says:

I have no opinion regarding whether AJ is a nice person or not, nor do I about JA, but what bothers me is how people tend to either bestow sainthood or demonize stars, and then show an allegiance which goes so far as to include outright insulting of those of differing opinions.

They are just people, mere human beings. Yes, they are beautiful, rich, powerful, have great bodies, and AJ uses a portion of her time and money to help those far less fortunate; yes, AJ does good things, and there are also others who donate a lot of money to causes whom we don’t hear about. But at the end of the day they are just people and as such they are likely to have flaws, bc they are real. Yet people turn on each other for neither vilifying nor demonizing the object of their awe and that’s sad because there is too much divisiveness in the world and divisiveness causes wars.

Even people stating things along the lines of, “I love what she does but don’t respect all that she has done” are attacked in comments sections. She absolutely has done some thoughtless things to JA, and, while JA does not come off as very likable, I can’t imagine being in her shoes during the W photo shoot or AJ’s comments about falling in love with Brad during the filming on M&MS and wanting her kids to see that film so they can see the moment when their parents fell in love, and when Brad was oddly silent while JA was demonized in the press for not wanting to have his child thus driving him away (which was not true), allowing us all to believe that — those actions are not the makings of martyrs, and they are also not the makings of Satanic figures either. It’;s not black and white; life is not black and white.

So why are people who don’t even personally know either or any party involved turning on each other? None of us will likely ever meet any of them, and if one of us were to meet any of these people, we’d not likely end up in their social circle — these people are strangers to us and we don’t know what they are really like so why would we fight over them? Isn’t that a little over the top? I’d sooner reserve that level of emotion for people I actually know and have real relationships with. I’d turn on someone for hurting my child but not for failing to worship my idol. Oh wait — that’s what religious wars are based on. Never mind. This must be a religious matter.

  105. dear kaiser says:

Her face and head are just so big and masculine.

  106. Alex says:

Maureen D: This is a gossip site, you know that right.

  107. blonde on the dock says:

    Well said Maureen D

  108. Alex says:

blonde on the dock: What case? You hate everything AJ but you still bring your tired ass on a post about her all the time. Talk about crazy

  109. Alex says:

Toot: :)I am having a slow day, so I am passing time on here and the haters are so darn stupid

  110. Sakyiwaa says:

@Munkey. Aww, thank you! Appreciate it. Thanks for diving in (and jumping out fast!) Your name’s pretty splendid too!

@Cheyenne. Lol. Do I mind? Of course not! I’m from a country called Ghana in West Africa. We’re just 23 million people and we’re really hospitable and warm. We have this warrior kingdom called the Ashanti. They fought a lot when we were colonized by the British in 1874 cos we had a lot of gold on our coastline (Not anymore!)

Anyway, we’re not that famous cos we’re a stable African country. (The irony) But Chris Martin and Bono and others have been here before (lowkey charity work) and yes, Clinton, Bush and Obama have all been here before. Rita Marley (Bob Marley’s wife) lives here.

We really LOVE America…and though many people normally don’t care for American actors (they like the singers better), they know who La Jolie is cos she does charity work in Africa! Jolie’s fan base is ‘very’ international, I tell ya! (sorry for yammering:-)!)

    Thanks for asking, btw!

  111. rosalee says:

I like her, but darn does Vanity Fair ave to airbrush every line or flaw on her face off..it makes her look and basically everyone who appears in their magazine like freaks. Beautiful woman but come on she’s got pores on her skin and I know she has that vein on her forehead and natural lines on her face..not being critical of her without the touch ups she’s still a beautiful woman. She must have had help with her script other then Pitt’s comments..I know talented writers who have “touched up” vanity scripts in the past..meaning up to 90 to 95 percent of the script have been written by someone else. Just saying she’s intelligent but she has people who prompt her and assist her in writing her materials for the UN as does any other spokesperson.

  112. Nessa says:

OMG, that face! She is… stunning… to say the least.

I like this premise of this movie. I hope it fairs well and she continues to direct. She is incredibly talented!

  113. Josephina says:

    Maureen D-

It has been stated countless of times…Brad and Aniston’s divorce. It played out into the media with Aniston’s active participation with Vanity Fair, Vogue, People and GQ interview articles, to name just a few. Aniston is not the first nor the last to go through a divorce. She should have kept her intimate feelings private instead of subjecting herself to criticism, judgement, sympathy or ridicule.

Aniston is criticized for putting her business in the streets and allowing her friends, outsiders, to comment publicly on her marriage to Pitt. It is called poor judgment and immaturity coming from a woman of late 30s /early 40s. It is HOW YOU HANDLE the divorce, just like how you handle the ups and downs of life, in which she gets a grade “F.”

I am not a fan of immature or emotionally irresponsible people, and I feel for Brad because he entered a partnership with her (and thus exited when he grew up.) She kept reacting to an event in her life that was dead, and furthermore, dragged the media and internet bloggers right along in her snarky, tasteless remarks. Furthermore, she took aim at a woman, Angie, whom she still does not know.

It was nobody’s business to know her ugly thoughts, but Aniston felt it was necessary to let the public know anytime there a microphone held in her face.

Aniston simply had lots of trouble accepting the fact that her husband wanted to leave…move on into the future of his life…without her in it. It was nobody’s business that she still wanted him when he chose to go in another direction, but Aniston put those words in print.

Anyone looking at Brad today can see he made the right decision. Did Brad and Jennifer really have a lot in common or mutual respect? He was not that into Aniston, and he ended the marriage.

Choosing to divorce was the right thing to do. The evidence is abundantly clear in the difference between his devotion for Angie and the family he has quickly created with her. He has not shown this type of love or commitment for any other woman.

  114. Nymeria says:

@ Maureen D – Your post makes sense. Yes, this is a gossip site, but that doesn’t excuse comments like this one of alex’s (#33 – “LadyJane: You poor thing, I hope you get help for your H.problem”): i.e., comments which are personal attacks on other commenters. Sheesh! We’re permitted to get a bit snarky, yeah, but accusing others of having an “H.problem [sic]” & calling other people trolls just because their opinions differ from those spouting the word “troll,” etc. is pretty low. And posts about the Jolie-Pitts always seem to bring out extremists. What the hell is this, middle school?

@ Sakyiwaa – I knew a guy named Ashanti whose family came from Ghana. 🙂 Very nice people who missed their home country but came to the US to get jobs in the computer industry (don’t remember what exactly, but something to do with computers). They said Ghana is beautiful.

  115. trolls** Boot…STOMPIN’…Stompin’…STOMPIN’… Ah,that felt good.

  116. Lilly says:

Wow, everyone on that blind gossip says it’s Jolie. Yep, Jolie is really a bitch.

  117. cbnagrl says:

The second photo makes me feel sad. For some reason, I feel that Angelina puts her adopted children above her biological children and this pic somehow illustrates that dynamic perfectly.

It’s so easy to forget someone’s past when you like them but how hard it is to forget when you don’t…

  118. Cheyenne says:

@olivia: Better work on your reading comprehension, honey. She said she was quarantined from the kids for two days so she STARTED working on a film script. She didn’t say she FINISHED it in two days.

Your blind animosity for this woman would be comical if it wasn’t so ridiculous.

  119. Cheyenne says:

@Sakyiwaa: I know where Ghana is. You’re the first Ghanaian I’ve met on or offline but I work with several Nigerians and Liberians.

I’d love to know which part of Africa my family originated from but I’ll probably never be able to find out.

  120. Alex says:

Nymeria: So it is okay for her to say that AJ have a H. problem right but when I say it back to her, oh I am attacking her. GMAB

  121. sam says:

    @Lilly,

I know, not that’s surprising tho.

  122. me says:

Where did this new nose come from?

Is it photoshop or is it a new plastic surgery?

I don’t understand why a woman who is already beautiful- has the need to change her features.

The second picture bothered me. It feels like the children are being used for an image and it feels like she is posing like a model.

The photo doesn’t represent something that comes off as real or authentic and its not fair for the children.

I do love it that she went on to direct and write.
More women should take note and follow her example.

Stop staying as actresses, letting the men take all the control and being treated as marionette.

Good for her for trying even if it won’t work out in the end.

  123. Alex says:

Lilly: hmmm take one to know one huh and you people are like sheeps lol

You people are pathetic and sad lol

anyhoo I have to go, it was nice chatting with you all

  124. blonde on the dock says:

Alex your comments say a lot about you and it’s not good. By the way you have no idea what I think about AJ.

  125. LadyJane says:

People sure do spew a ton of vile, spiteful and down right hateful venom on ‘haters’.

Makes you kinda wonder who the real haters are.

(PS I am not offended by someone’s reference to my H problem. The programme has taught me to forgive and let live).

  126. Sakyiwaa** What a beautiful name.

  127. Alex says:

blonde on the dock: Oh I am so hurt that you don’t think good about me….NOT lol

bye for now until next time we meet on another angie’s post

  128. Alex says:

LadyJane: well good for you but maybe you shouldn’t push your H. problem on people i.e. AJ

She said she has the flu and your response was she was sick because of her H. problem. Do you know that for a fact?

  129. Cheyenne says:

Bite me: I see Jon voight is spending some quality time with grandkids… U know what that means ladies. Aj wants to use Jon influence to win another Oscar
    =============================================

ROFLMAO! You know that’s going to make the trolls’ day. They are actually going to believe it. Anyway, good for Jon. The best times I ever have are with my little grandson. Sometimes you wish you could skip a generation and go straight to being a grandparent, they are that much fun.
    _______________________________________________________

@LadyJane: I applaud you for working on your H problem and wish you every success. However, that doesn’t give you the right to accuse anyone else of having an H problem unless you have proof to back it up. Tabloid stories aren’t proof, in case you were about to use one to substantiate your claim

  130. Sakyiwaa says:

Thanks Nymeria! My people certainly love to migrate to the US. 🙂

  131. LadyJane says:

Ya I was just kidding about the H. Each time. God you people are easy to wind up. So fun!

  132. Nymeria says:

@ Sakyiwaa – They made Ghana sound so gorgeous. I’ve always wanted to visit. And I miss Ashanti. He was my elementary school crush. 🙂 I would look into his eyes and just melt. Hehe, the wonders of puppy love.

@ alex – You are right – it is unfair for us to accuse such & such celebrity of having a drug problem.

I maintain that we should refrain from attacking each other personally on here. What good does it do?

  133. Cheyenne says:

@LadyJane: Honey, if you’re that desperate for attention, maybe you should find another activity like jogging naked in public.

  134. Deltona lakes says:

    @gal
I can understand that you were upset that Dennis Hopper didn’t get a cover but the bottom-line is that everything is a business and Angelina Jolie was their biggest selling issue in 2010 (510k) issues sold. Most likely a cover with Dennis hopper wouldnt have generated those numbers.

  135. Camille says:

Her eyes look utterly gorgeous in that cover shot. And I love the photo of her with her kids- gorgeous.

As for whether her movie will be good or terrible, well who knows yet. I hope it isn’t too awful though…

  136. pwal says:

Man… people are ready to ponce, aren’t they? It’s conceivable that Angelina could knock out a script in 2 days – no one said that it was screen-ready.

I don’t understand why some would peg this as a vanity project when she did go to film school for a brief time. Wouldn’t that be a clue that Angelina wanted to explore other aspects of film making besides acting? And she was behind that documentary A Place in Time.

And finally – people drawing the conclusion that Angelina favors her adopted kids over her biological based on a pic? Really? Because in all honesty, I think that people resent the fact that she adopted before she gave birth because the natural order of things (seemingly) should be that women have biological children first, and maybe, adopt, if they have the money, time, and capability to ‘look past’ the nonexistent resemblance or blood bonds?

Get over it… she adopted children in her 20s and gave birth to children in her 30s.

  137. Susan says:

Totally inappropriate to put your children in a magazine shoot to promote a movie. This is her work and her children should have nothing to do with it. This is the reason they are hounded by the tabloids and other magazines because they continue to “sell the family” to promote their projects. These children are to young to give consent to be in a magazine and be used for promotion. Can you ever imagine Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portmann, Penelope Cruz, Johnny Depp, etc. doing this? Real actors who do their job and act do not need to “sell” their children to get attention – their acting does that for them. They really need to stop exploiting their children to help with their movie careers.

  138. Jayna says:

Seriously, if it’s not great how can it be any worse than the piece of crap movies I’ve seen the last few years.

  139. Sakyiwaa says:

@Nymeria. Oooh! Your crush? Must have been Awesome! Lol!

Thanks Hanna, Munkey, Nymeria, lucy and Cheyenne, even Duh…for all the lovely compliments and conversation.

Best wishes to Everyone on this thread!

  140. Firecracker says:

Has anyone read the blind today on BG that really isn’t a blind?
Edit: Lilly did, and me too, Lilly!

  141. Lady D says:

“My name’s Sakyiwaa (pronounced sé-chi-wä). It’s African and means ‘one who drives away darkness’. ”
Thank you for telling us this. I have been meaning to ask you how you pronounce your name. I think it’s a cool name. Also appreciate the fascinating little history lesson. I always enjoy learning about other cultures. Thanks for that too, Sakyiwaa.

  142. mzjask says:

i heard about her doing her own movie a few months ago and how some people were offended due to the subject matter… or something to that affect. regardless of the outcome of the movie, i agree with a lot of you on here that it is a good thing for her to be branching out of her comfort zone. i think as a species when we stop challenging ourselves from what we’re used to, thats when we really start to die. this woman lives her life on a grander scale than most and will always be the subject of tabloid gossip. the reason: she only gives so much info. leaves everyone wanting more, its brilliant, in that sense. personally, i have always been happy with her film choices, but then again i am not a Film Critic.

i think she is such a beautiful woman in so many different aspects that i dont think the cover does her justice. she has such stark features, a close up to that proportion is really no one’s friend, i think it makes her features look a lil manly. almost like its her brother on there. the one with her daughters; STUNNING. we all should know our angles. and yes she is one of the most beautiful people on earth, but no one is perfect.
Ms Z is gonna be a little heartbreaker, just you wait!! 😉

  143. firefly says:

Riiiight…Not scripted and staged at all.

She even refers to her kids as “the children”. Please.

  144. Mrs. Odie 2 says:

It’s a beautiful cover, but it doesn’t look like her. It looks like a mash up of Laur Prepon and Olivia Wilde

  145. nemera says:

    @firefly

How should she refer to them. Does she need to do like the tabloids and media do.

    Madd 10, Pax 7, Zahara 6, Shiloh 5, Knox and Vivienne 3..

That would be quite a mouth full every time she spoke of THEIR children.

Why her saying “the children” is getting your panties in a bunch is a bit strange.

But really I’m sure you and others will spend hours upon hours reading the interview and finding other little gems to get upset over.

I wonder if you all are that concerned about children that are actually suffering in the world as you are about the JP kids that seem quite happy and well taken care of.

I bet there are some actually needy kids in your community that could use an ounce of that concern.

  146. DD says:

    wow 140+ comments.
The picture of her reading is my favourite. I’m not liking the cover, just that it’s a bit harsh and uncreative.
Having just recovered from the flu myself, all I managed to do was stress myself out about taking a couple of sick days from work… Writing a script would’ve been much more productive and entertaining for sure. Alas I am not Angelina 🙁
I’m curious to see this film and I’ll leave my judgement till then.

  147. Chris says:

    @Cheyenne. 🙂

  148. RuddyZooKeeper says:

My kids never sucked their thumbs, so I don’t know the right answer, but aren’t Z and V (Z especially) getting a bit old to still be doing this? Self soothing from being over stressed? Or maybe just a plain old bad habit.

  149. Katherine says:

No thy’re not too old to be thumbsuckers. Also it’s not a habit that is always or even usually caused by stress. It’s a pleasurable habit children fall back on in their most relaxed settings – falling asleep in bed for instance. Of course it sounds more melodramatic to suggest it’s caused by stress.

Vanity Fair always tries to be artsy and different with their covers and inside photos. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. The cover only shows how perfect her features are though I prefer her more casual photos which seem to show her personality more.

They are her children and if they are included in her work then that’s her call. I see nothing wrong with it. They may be totally excited to be in these pics with her- and yes, of course they are stylized – that’s the point. They aren’t supposed to be candids.

The frenzy over her photos began long before any photos were sold – I remember very well the craziness that followed her around in 2005 and throughout her 1st pregnancy. It forced them to flee the US so they could have some peace. As for Johnny Depp I have seen released to the public posed photos of both he and Vanessa both topless with their first born. They are beautiful black and whites. It’s useless to try to compare Pitt and Jolie and their children with others – no one on this planet is as sought after as they are for photos. No one. Period.

  150. Magsy says:

I agree with Firefly “the children” sounds a little posh. But then again AJ for me always seems more Eurpoean than American. Most Americans would say “kids” and yes I know goats are kids not children but waddyah want from me? This is a website devoted to sniping and bitching and gossiping about celebs = fun. We shouldn’t hate on others postings, correct their English, or get on a soapbox about our personal political and religious views. Some people on here need to get over themselves. Keep it light, Alright?!

  151. truthSF says:

    @RuddyZooKeeper:

I sucked my thumb until I was 12, which drove my mom crazy. But I was lucky not to develop an overbite. Most kids I know stopped sucking their fingers after the age of 5, so I wouldn’t worry too much about them at their present age.

  152. Anon says:

Big time photoshop! She look’s all plastic or maybe that’s just what her face looks like now idk i don’t care yawn..

  153. anom says:

    Angelina = GORGEOUSNESS

  154. Zara says:

That blind item holds as much truth as that non story last Thanksgiving about Angelina hating Thanksgiving. The funny thing is, Janet Charlton, one time Star editor (scratching my head over that one) already wrote about it, so why it would get new life as a blind item is rather telling. I wonder why she was selected to release this little nugget of nonsense.
    http://jezebel.com/5835303/beyonce-confirms-what-ept-knows-shes-pregnant

I wondered what manufactured drama would accompany the rollout of Angelina’s movie and now I have my answer. That divorce sure is the gift that keeps on giving for one of the parties.

If Angie does another VF interview in the future, she needs to talk to another writer. Rich Cohen seems more intent on gossip than asking anything of substance. This is a repeat of the exact rumors she refuted last time for the Salt promotion. Like the tabloids, he needs to stop regurgitating gossip like some cud chewing cow.

  155. nemera says:

    @Anon

You don’t “care” so you click and post.

    OK..

  156. CHRISTIAN_GIRL says:

She most certainly could have written this movie in 2 days. She says from beginning to the end, but what is being overlooked is ITS A LOVE STORY. Told straight thru. Does not sound complicated. Another avenue would have been. Meet, attracted, fall for each other, make out or more, then the war parts them. The end.

Now, for UTA to SIGN her as a screenwriter and director, I am going on record to say “THAT SHE THREW DOWN”.
All reports say she is the real deal, with writing and directing and they have seen it and read the script. Filmed BOTH versions in what, a month, yes, good is not enough. Great sounds more like it. Just a teaser for what she really wanted to make about Churchill and Roosevelt. Can she deliver, heck yeah. Everybody is happy. No need for a ghost writer, really. A love story could write itself, she just places it in the period of the war and both languages to set it apart, as she is clever like that. Smart casting to, as it again makes her different. No one is in her lane, just how she likes it. Giving credit where credit is due. SHE thought of it. Cast says she wrote more lines on the fly too, to increase their parts. Come on, she owns this.

It comes out on 12/23, so this seems more for BP and Moneyball push to help her man. I like it that she has his back. Rumors of a Harper Bazaar Cover for later in the year. Again clever lady.

Kids are TOO cute. Said it before, they SCREAM for their pictures to be covered. Magazines can’t pass it up. IF I’m a Magazine editor that sells this mag to women, yes indeedy I am going for the kids too. Package deal and all. If I can get BP to, well he’s shot too. FACT. This boss chick has swagger like no other, so bring on some more wannabe’s and watch the destruction while Brad eats it up.

  157. Kelly says:

I love her but don’t like the “like any woman” comment

  158. Tomas says:

    Photoshopped into OBLIVION.

  159. anon says:

    @CHRISTIAN_GIRL: good post

  160. CanCan says:

The H rumors need to go ahead and die already. No junkie can be that productive.
The reason you don’t see Penelope Cruz’s kids or
Cate’s or whoevers is lack of interest. AJ and BP are both A list mega stars. A whole different universe of fame. If Johnny Depp was with someone really famous and notorious we would see his kids more too.
I don’t think it’s wrong to share photos of the children. What will happen if we see them? Hiding them would never work. It’s just photos. They aren’t putting them in films or recording CDs. Just pictures.
Some don’t care for her. That’s ok. Just stop manufacturing reasons. She’s not perfect. No one is. But she’s created an interesting dynamic life that’s cool to watch. She got over her early very public trainwreck life and chose a more relavent path forward. That’s admirable no matter who it is.

  161. bee says:

@Sakyiwaa, beautiful name. Love how you’re so proud of your country. Ghana is a beautiful country. I remember when Kenya used to be beautiful. Sigh

@Alex I don’t hate AJ. Actually I do love her, but within reason, unlike you

  162. kikay says:

Her mouth looks like a blow up fish that jump out of the water,so fugly!

  163. Really!! says:

that FUGLY LIPS was so copied by other stars and ordinary women and is the no. 1 request with cosmetic surgery

  164. Mi says:

I have really tried to understand why people find Angelina attractive but I just can’t see it. Her face looks okay most of the time but just plain weird on this cover and not in a good way. And she really need to get some meat on her bones, because she is way to skinny. As an actress she’s okay but there are way better actresses out there. However it will be interesting to see her debut as an director and I hope it goes well for her.

  165. Lina cap says:

So much older but looks pretty

  166. Ruby Red Lips says:

Love love love Angie – she is my girl crush 4ever 😀 Such a beautiful sxy woman….*lusty sigh*

  167. Kim says:

    Best family in celeb’s family

  168. mln76 says:

If it makes anyone feel better according to Cohen she started it in two days of isolation but completed in a month after Brad and the kids went to bed.

  169. Deltona lakes says:

The more I look at this cover…the more I love it. Its edgy and jumps out at you. It reminds me of Angie’s covers pre Maddox. I’m sure this issue will be vanity fair best seller for 2011, just as 2010 was. And to the posters who comment about how she raises her kids or allow them to be photographed… I love her comment last year..”I think i’m a good mom, but it’s not up to the world to decide, ultimately it’s my kids that will decide. To the average parent, it’s not what your family, friends, neighbors think about your parenting skills, it your kids… That will be determined if they grow up to be decent people

And to the posters about some blind item I didn’t read but what i gather from the comments it must be about Angie on drugs… I would love for her to get a patent for this drug and mass market it. I would be the first one on line to buy it. Since she’s managed to get a pilot license and actually fly a plane, knocked out 3 healthy babies in 2 years, film a movie a year, direct a movie, make humanitarian trips around the world each year, have meetings with heads of state, presidents, CEOs . damn I think I would pay $1000 for just one dose.

Her face is starting to get into Michael Jackson territory, and WHY are her children in this shoot?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, folks. I think she is an alien-looking insect, and certainly not the beauty queen people here think she is.

Is she doing a sexy look in a photoshoot with kids? Don’t like her much these days. She just morphed into one of those unlikeable people who crave the love of the world and yet claim not to care. She cares. Why a shoot with kids? She knows that kids are the only card she still has to play, beauty faded, look at Rachael Weiz, Angelina could be her mother and she is 41.

The October issue of VF is on the newsstands in NYC. Gorgeous photos as per usual.

She says in the mag her next project is “Maleficient” which isn’t coming out till 2013. Sounds like a fun movie.

The photos are very heavily photoshopped, but that’s because Angelina’s not as pretty as she used to be. She was stunning in the 2004 VF, but people who say she’s still gorgeous are really holding on to an image from the past. She’s looked emaciated and aged for the past several years, though the professionals do a good job covering up her flaws for the red carpet. Her face has rebounded a bit since Wanted, and I think that putting on a bit more weight could reduce the premature signs of aging.

Zahara’s hair looks really nice too. She’s a beautiful child.

She is so beautiful it’s unreal. And what a precious picture of her with her girls. But i think she has had her nose slimmed ever so slightly. the bridge part used to be wider I think… I can see it for the first time in that all face pic. But it’s soo subtle. Looks like my mothers nose. God my mother has a perfect nose! My sis and I are forever grateful we got her nose. But who cares. I love her.
I hope this movie is great. I’m gonna see it regardless of what the critics say, good or bad.
I like that she wants to do something that matters and say something real with the creative media at her disposal.

Vanity Fair is low level wanna be Vogue magazine. They photoshop heavily, interviews are mediocre. Every time they do interview with Angelina they or the journalist ask her the same questions. Only difference here about her directorial debut. I am Bosnian, and i hope she does film well. Also their are many ethnicities in Bosnia. That said, i like Angelina and she looks good. I hope she has done good with the movie.
