Well, Kim Kardashian is not content to simply have acting credits that include “Ray J’s on-screen sex partner” and “Dancing With the Stars failure”. Kim Kardashian is now accepted as an ACTRESS. Tyler Perry just hired her for a supporting role in his new movie! Oh, Tyler. Girl, we need to talk.
In what amounts to her most substantial acting role so far, Kim Kardashian has signed on to costar in The Marriage Counselor, the Lionsgate film Tyler Perry will next direct, based on his stage play. Shooting begins October 26 in Atlanta. The film tells the story of Judith, an Ivy League-educated relationship expert who makes her living dispensing marital advice, but is so bored with her own marriage that she breaks her professional code and cheats with a smooth talking client only to realize she has made a huge mistake. Jurnee Smollett plays the marriage counselor and Kardashian will play Ava, a co-worker who gives Judith a big city makeover and new confidence as she struggles with her personal issues. Kardashian previously played roles in the films Deep in the Valley and Disaster Movie.

Now, I’ve long defended Tyler Perry. One of the best things about Perry is that he consistently writes challenging characters for women of color, and he’s committed to hiring actresses that Hollywood has often ignored. But seriously – Kim Kardashian? WTF? Was he just *that* blown away by her greasy performance in “Jam (Turn It Up)”?
By the way, Kim was still in NYC, as was Kris Humphries, even after he was seen “moving out” on Thursday. They celebrated her 31st birthday at The Darby on Friday in NYC, and then last night they were in Las Vegas together. You can read more about that BS here.

It’s a Tyler Perry movie. How he gets great actors to join in his bacoonfest productions, I have no idea. Although, I did kind of like the Family The Preys and that one with Taraji P. Henson more than I probably should have.
It never fails to amaze me, the number of vapid chicks that keep this “Queen Vapid”, or Quapid if you prefer, in the news.
I think Tyler Perry is def an innovator… but all of his recent movies get terrible reviews! Her first ‘acting’ debut will be a huge bust.

My hope is that, like Oprah, this idiot (Tyler Perry) will fall off and take these pedestrian @$$-kissing hanger ons with them.

It’s really sad that any of Tyler Perry’s movies are considered legit or that good Black actresses find themselves in his movies because it’s so hard for them to get work. Kim K is just the type of so called actress that should be cast in his crap, so this is fine by me. I’m more shocked when I see a notable actress attached to his hot mess movies.

Am I disappointed? Tremendously. But Kim Kardashian is a Tour de Marketing Force the likes of which we’ve never seen from someone with no discernible talent. I don’t get it, and many people claim not to get it. But clearly we’re in the minority because the Kardashian train has not slowed down even a little bit. People love these chicks and everything they touch turns to platinum.

It was only a matter of time before people stopped being hoodwinked by this dude. It is all about money and he is after all a businessperson. He is giving the people what they want. You want to laugh ok; I will dress up in drag and talk about smoking weed and being arrested. I will talk about not knowing who my baby daddy is. I will talk about all the crack heads in my families and all the mothers who pimp their daughters for money and drugs. Is this setting a good example in our community? One main character was an alcoholic. It is okay because he will throw in a couple of gospel songs and the characters may find redemption in the end. Please make him go away.
People have exalted this man. He has pimped entertainers for years. He will throw a little money around and throw a job or two here and there. Then he will go on the Tom Joyner’s show and talk about his family when it is time for a new movie or play to be released.
I am not surprised about the Kim K fiasco. He is trying to seduce a new demographic. It is a win win situation; she needs blacks to buy her perfume, clothes, and shoes. He needs young white females, so they are helping each other. However, here is the trick. We will never make her richer, and he will NEVER get another one of my hard-earned dimes!
