When I first saw the thumbnails for this photo set I thought I was looking at a woman crammed into a too-tight dress. From far away, from the front, that’s what it looks like. It wasn’t until I saw the photos on Evil Beet that I realized I was looking at a pregnant Hilary Duff crammed into a too-tight lime green sequin dress. (There are more photos here) This is not a flattering look for her at all, and I think pregnancy passes should be reserved for shapeless shifts, but at least she’s trying to switch it up. I love this color too, but as an accent piece or a shirt that pops not as a whole dress! Still, she’s going for bold and she’s knocked up and loving it. Plus she looks cute and like she has a devoted husband in hockey player Mike Comrie. (Not so much here, but in the other photos.)
Hilary was attending the launch of The Beauty Book, which features photos of celebrities with proceeds to go to brain cancer research. So she’s doing a good thing here, even as a shiny bright green fashion miss.
From what I can find, Hilary is probably around six months along. She made the announcement in mid August and if she waited a traditional three months first she would be six months’ pregnant now. Hilary is only 24! I know a lot of people know her as the kid from Disney’s Lizzie McGuire, but I honestly thought she was at least 28 or so. Still, she seems grounded and like she’ll make a good mom. You know she’ll do a baby photo spread if one of the magazines will have her.
I think she’ll make a great mom. She has been without scandal for her entire career and I think she’s pretty level-headed.
The dress though is TERRIBLE. She does look like someone squeezed into a too small dress. Unfortunate.

Well she definitely looks way different now. Thats the scary ass thing about pregnancy- it will change how you look, but you never know how, or how much- or how permanent. And it ages a woman- she no longer looks like a girl but like a woman, or … yeah like a mother… which is freaky 😛
That dress is going to burst or split at the seams any minute now.
Nothing wrong with the color. It would look good on someone with a darker complexion and with a smaller body. But on her body, it just looks like one big walking neon sign.

Horrible choice but there are a lot of celebrities not preggo who dress atrociously, so I am not going to snark on a seemingly nice person for a bad choice.

That is the funniest thing I have seen today. She looks like a pitcher of lemonade. The color is HORRIBLE on her and pregnancy has completely morphed her face.
I didn’t even recognize her. Between the dress and the pregnancy it’s just all around bad. And i’ve seen other pictures of her this far along where she looked fabulous. No pass on the dress.

Have to disagree, I think *she* looks lovely. Happy, healthy, glowing. Even if pregnancy has morphed her face, which it has, she is still a beautiful young woman.
The dress, however, is unfortunate.
Put her in something that fits her burgeoning belly, and she would be lovely.

Did she lose a bet? She doesn’t look pregnant, she just looks like a fat girl who thinks she’s hot. Some women look gorgeous when pregnant, and some look like @ss, but NONE would look good wearing THAT.

seriously, shes pregnant. if it was any one of you youd have pitch forks and torches after the offender. face it, as much as we “glow” during pregnancy we also bloat, retain, seep gas and anger, then collapse into bed with giant ankles. cut her some slack. yes the dress is tragic, BUT as pointed out shes seems like a normal person, out for an evening with her man. and even preggers in tight dresses deserve that.
I don’t like to rag on pregnant women, and I’m happy Hillary has stayed grounded and normal, but that dress is one big no. Arock, I can cut pregnant women some slack for not being teeny-tiny, but there’s no excuse to wear something so obviously ill-fitting and frankly downright skanky.
Still, she’s a cutie and I wish her and her husband well!
She looks gorgeous from the neck up, very glowy and happy…BUT – that ill-fitting sequined sausage-casing should never be allowed to see the light of day again, probably the ugliest dress I have ever seen and it looks really uncomfortable as well.

The combination of short, tight, and loud color is all kinds of wrong (no more than one at a time, please). But pregnancy fashion can be rough going. If she’s six months along already, she looks pretty darn good even if she chose an unflattering dress.

Wow, did her boobs get HUGE! I really like this girl–I appreciate that she’s kept her nose clean and led a pretty low-key life. I even secretly love her movie “Cinderella Story” even tho I’m way too old. 🙂 But, this outfit is just tragic. I have two wonderful babies, so I know how exciting that brief period is when you’ve poppped and are obviously pregnant but aren’t yet huge and miserable and feel disgusting. So, I get the “I wanna wear something tight and cute to show off my baby belly!” But, this dress just makes her look like a fat girl who thinks she’s a skinny girl. It fits SO badly, and looks SO uncomfy! Something in a darker color jersey would’ve been cute, a lil sexy AND comfy.

It looks horrible. This is why maternity clothes are necessary! Yes, some women can go through their entire pregnancy wearing normal clothes, but Hilary is not one of them.
The dress is bunching up because it has no where to go but up! It looks uncomfortable and tight and makes her belly look like beer bloat instead of fetal bloat.

There are some gorgeous maternity clothes out there. Especially for someone with the money to buy designer clothes. She does look like a chubby girl wearing an unflattering dress.

Oh dear. I’ll give her a pass b/c it’s her first & a changing body is tough to deal with. But geez, if you’re 5? months pregnant there’s no sense trying to disguise it — assuming you’ve chosen to tell the world of course, as she has.
This dress doesn’t make her look pregnant, it just makes her look fat. She doesn’t have to go to a maternity shop (yet) but at least get a flowing mini, something that doesn’t bunch up at the tummy.

She could do a tight dress but a lycra one – wearing a regular dress like that when pregnant, it all bunches up at the front but if it was stretchy it would be okay. She’s got a better body than mine even when she’s a few months up the duff! She can basically wear what she likes and still look awesome…

Oh, that dress is so wrong! I don’t have a problem with the color. The cut is just so unflattering. I’m as far along in my pregnancy as she is, and there is no way in hell I’d wear a dress like that right now!
She’s at that awkward phase around 5/6 months when you don’t look pregnant, just fat. I’m not a big fan of tight-belly clothes on pregnant women, no matter how good a shape they’re in. But that look is actually easier to pull of later in the pregnancy when you actually look incontrovertibly pregnant. She would have been better off with something looser at this point in her pregnancy.
And, barring a few select redheads, there is no white girl on the planet who looks good in chartreuse.

That first picture looks more like Heather Graham than Hilary Duff! I think she sort of gets a pass, but this dress is really bad. It doesn’t even fit her well anywhere!
Everyone is divided about the dress but I lean toward the love it camp. A little tight but it happens when you’re pregnant and you can literally expand an extra size in a couple days. I have read good reviews of her novels on a few sites. If anyone has, is it necessary to read the previous book? I want to give it as a gift but not sure I want to buy 2 books.
I like that some great celebs did this for the BBBrainCancer. I liked Amy Adams’ outfit too would have loved more color. The rest of the ladies were not very dressed up for it.

I would forego the half on off stitch pattern makes me want to pull it and the shoes no no. That first picture is a bit of a bad shot/ lights because the color looks more yellow and extremely bright. Unsure if it’s from the location,basement? I think if it wasn’t shimmery-glassy, it would appear way LESS tight because it highlights focuses on the high weight area. Good point that she could have just increased in size from the fitting it happens with pregnancy. Jen Garner looked gorgeous at one of the events but I hated that wrap shawl outfit and I wish more pregnant ladies wore less shapeless gowns.
Oh yeah you know magazines especially PPL will want photos but I think chances are low on a spread like Jessica Simpson will do reports were Jessica wanted $$ for the announcement itself(!) and got rejected. I heard a quote from Duff on cnn she wants to keep the baby out of the spot light as much. She did announce on her website and not on the front pages. She did a spread on her wedding but it is different with kids and it ain’t like she ever worries for money yeah it is good for treating fans but she has twitter to post the first picture and get the bounty by paps out of the way. I saw her on Piers and it is hard to believe she is a child star she is very sensible and like someone said level headed. I was a little fascinated and thank god a celeb parent who does not want their kids in the biz like them.

This is the second time there has been a comment that Hilary’s husband is a cheater when there has been a posting about her. How do you people know this? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just wondering……I’m not a fan of hers, I find her pretty irritating, BUT I think she looks adorable pregnant (not in this dress) and she looks so happy. It just looks uncomfortable. I’ve never understood how people can wear too-tight clothing and not be hideously uncomfortable. I don’t wear certain clothes because I feel, and look, like a stuffed sausage. I can’t breath, I get lines on my body and chafing.

She is in her 20s for 3-4 years she was older a couple years ago when she married lol. What is the difference and she has not gained much lbs to affect her facial structure drastically. Honestly I will describe it as ‘a ok.’ I don’t think it is horrible she got dressed in dark bad or the dress is the best ever.
