Charlize Theron & Kristen Stewart call themselves “bitches” during WonderCon

These are even more photos from WonderCon! Not only did Charlize Theron get to sit next to (and flirt with) Michael Fassbender for Prometheus, she also promoted Snow White & the Huntsman with Kristen Stewart. Last year, Kristen and Charlize were sent out to do some early SWATH promotion at Comic-Con, and Kristen was criticized by some major outlets for her “affected emo shtick” – like, she couldn’t even sit in a chair normally, and she has all of those nervous tics and such. I’m happy to say that in these photos, K-Stew’s nervousness (or her “affected emo shtick”) has gotten much, much better. She sitting in a chair normally! She doesn’t look like she’s about to cry from the sheer ANGST of answering questions. Good for her. I wonder if she finally invested in a public-speaking coach? Also: Kristen is wearing a shirt belonging to Sparkles. For realz!

During the panel discussion (which didn’t seem to involve Chris Hemsworth), Kristen discussed her terror at all of the stunt work she had to do, and Charlize talked about her baby a little bit:

She is known to her legion of Twilight fans as the sweet-natured teenager Bella Swan. But Kristen Stewart has revealed she prefers playing darker characters, and likes to use swear words, as she promoted her forthcoming movie Snow White and the Huntsmen in California today.

The actress used a particularly hard-hitting word to explain the character trait that is driving her career choices. The 21-year-old actress said: ‘It’s because I’m a bitch.’

Her comment was the highlight of a rather fruity question and answer session about the film at the WonderCon convention in Anaheim. But she also said she was excited about the film’s more mature characterisation of the familiar fairy tale favourite, saying: ‘Everything I wanted Snow White to be is there and that’s really rare. And the Los Angeles born star said she had to put herself through the mill to play the aggressive militaristic imagining of Snow White.

She said: ‘I hurt myself a lot. I got to jump off cliffs and ride horses. And that terrified me. I didn’t like that.’

Kristen’s co-star Charlize Theron, 36, was also in foulmouthed form as they tried to live up to the movie’s more adult demographic.

Explaining why she wanted to play the Evil Queen, she said: ‘Everyone has an idea of her. And there’s something nice about f***ing with that idea.’

When told that she plays “evil” really well, Charlize replied: “That’s because I’m a bitch….Picasso had his blue period, and this is my bitch period.”

It was a big week for Charlize, for as well as attending WonderCon, she also revealed she had adopted a baby boy called Jackson, who is now four-months-old. The South African stunner told Ryan Searest that ‘everyone has been so lovely’, ‘nice’ and ‘amazing,’ on his radio show last week.

[From The Mail]

Yes, Charlize is in a “bitch period”. It’s called “her career”. She’s good at playing bitches – there’s no shame in that. Although I do think she might be actively trying to shake up her (bitchy) image a bit with her new baby, Jackson. Charlize also called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show last week to talk about the baby – you can read some of it here. She’s learning about swaddling.

Also – from everything I’ve seen, Charlize and Kristen are really nice to each other. They consistently say nice things about each other in the press, and they seemed to work well together. So even though Charlize looks kind of “over it” in these photos, I don’t think that has anything to do with Kristen.

And they would have passed a polygraph test.

  2. Lily says:

    They are bitches. So…

  3. lisa says:

I think it is obvious they are doing this because they want to bring some badass to the characters they play in the movie.

When they promote something different they will say something different.

  4. marie says:

while I’m not a huge Kstew fan, I’m really looking forward to this movie, I hope she does well-I really want to believe she’s a good actress..

  5. Mia says:

Charlize is one of the few women who look more beautiful with their hair up or cut short. Wish I had that bone structure!

    • Lars says:

I have to agree with you Mia… she has ridiculously amazing bone structure and I miss her short hair as well. I think the extensions are fine but I was loving her short do that she had while promoting Young Adult last year.

Also, K Stew is probably super frightened sitting next to an Oscar winning, super talented, gorgeous woman There’s the Goddess (CT) and the pauper (KS).

  6. elvyn says:

Ah ah you should read this guy, he was at this event and say that Stewart seems like an idiot and even Charlize know that. That Stewart seems bored to death….
    http://yfrog.com/user/mrichert/profile
After that, her army litterally assault this guy because he dare to criticize her. Funny.

    • Monkey Jim says:

What’s funny is your enduring obsession with someone you don’t like. There’s loads of celebs I don’t like, and I’d never read or comment on a post about them. Bless you!

    • Monkey Jim says:

Well, you’ve found a random Twitter thread that’s not even referenced in the post, from some guy with relatively few followers and pasted it here… Why could you be bothered?

      Meh. You’re just jelly!

On another note, I like KStew, love Charlize and can’t wait for SWATH. Alongside Hunger Games loving that we’re getting movies with feisty females this year…

      • elvyn says:

I don’t find! It was on a forum and pass around by some friend in Twitter because her fans was so angry against him.
As I say, I find all this thing funny, really really funny.

    • Jane says:

Not surprising. Her fans are cray-cray as fuck. I heard about a story where they hacked the account of someone and they found her job address and got the person fired because they kept whining to the boss that the person in question didn´t like KStew. yeah…

      • elvyn says:

        Yep that’s true.
They also treathened many people family, to gang rape them, to kill them, to bit them… Just because they don’t believe in Robsten or don’t Stewart is the most beautiful girl in the world.
Yep that is her fans. Not all of them of cours but the most vocal.

  7. Anna says:

You know you’re skinny when Stewart looks shapely next to you.

  8. Jackie says:

i like that women are reclaiming the word bitch. it can be very empowering.

    • Kaye says:

      Totally agree with you, Jackie.

    • Smh at this girl says:

Not all blacks use the n word

    • normades says:

I disagree. I associate the word with being mean and rude to others…that has nothing to with standing up for your rights.

I think the word is sexist because only women are bitches…men are jerks, but it’s not the same.

I think the word is fine if used in a funny snarky way (like on this site), but empowering..no.

  9. CTgirl says:

I’m glad that KS got some new extensions and got rid of the old ones that looked like a dead greasy hedgehog on her head. Now if only she would change her personality and personal style . . .

  10. Nessa says:

I love Charlize. Always have, always will. She is a bitch, but that’s what I like about her. At least she is a professional. She is articulate and funny. And her work is always quality. K. Stew is just… K. Stew. She doesn’t have much to offer but that.

  11. mia girl says:

Love Charlize’s comment re: “bitch period”!. Damn, that is a beautiful woman.

Kaiser – don’t think we didn’t notice that you posted some nice things and smiling pictures of KStew. 😉

  12. CG says:

Does Charlize’s face look different to anyone else? In these pics and the Prometheus pics, in certain angles she looks full of cheek filler. Especially in that second pic of her and KStew in profile, she looks almost like Brooklyn Decker. I didn’t read the Prometheus comment thread, so if someone has already brought this up, I apologize!

    • Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

I was wondering what she did to her face as well, she looks like tigers ex wife Elin and a little like that sports illustrated model who’s crotch was airbrushed off the cover.

    • Mirella says:

Yes, it does look different! I thought I was seeing things.

    • Camille (The original) says:

She looks like she has been messing with her face a bit to me too. 🙁

  13. Floridaseaturtle says:

Not really buying ‘bitch’ from either. Charlize, possibly sometimes..but I hope to gosh she is not picking up anything from hanging with Chelsea Handler. As far as Kristen, her body language, even in these pics, give her age away. She may have an edgy side wanting to come out, but she is still a young, and intimidated girl. Nothing wrong with that…God bless that side of her.

  14. CTgirl says:

Caught the tail end of the Today show interview with these two. As always, CT was poised and amusing. And as always, KS was inarticulate and kind of a mess. As lease KS is consistent 😉

    • CTgirl says:

It’s not “hating” to criticize. And the website’s name is Celebitchy and not Celesweetnessnandlight after all 😉

    • Linney says:

The whole “she’ll grow out of it” excuse is so stupid. She’s 21. That’s an adult age. Time to act like one, handle the challenges your job hands you or get a new one.

    • DeeVine says:

KStew reminds me of my son, who has sensory integration disorder. When he has to present a scripted speech, he is fine, cool and poised. However, during Q&A he will get all fidgety and mumble as nerves get to him. The chair, the lights will overwhelm him as he can’t focus on too many things at a time. Sure, he is 11 years old, but I do think we are a little hard on KStew. She may have issues similar to him, the adult version. She may enjoy acting, but hate to be thrust in the spotlight out of her comfort zone.

      • elvyn says:

People seems to forget that she is BORN in Hollywood. She grew up there. Her family works and has some crazy connection there (with Paramount also…) and she is an actress since her 10/12. So stop with this bullshit excuse of a young innocent girl…
She isn’t stupid. She knows exactly what she is doing.

  15. serena says:

    “this is my bitch period”

I’m gonna use this phrase.I love it.

  16. T.C. says:

The are both potty mouths but I don’t think they are bitches. They just keep it real and not fake.

    • CTgirl says:

Because saying “f*&k” and “sh*t” a lot makes things more real. Yeah. Using profanity all the time is a habit. It doesn’t make you deep or real, it shows a limited vocabulary 😉

      • Miss Thang says:

Agree 100%. Every generation of young adults acts like they’re doing something original by cussing a lot and “reclaiming” the word bitch. Then they near 30 and come to their senses. KS will too. CT may never grow up. She always seems like he’s desperately clinging to anything youthful (an appropriate roll for her in this film, I think).

      • Michele says:

CTgirl, we get it, you don’t like Kristen but replying 3x to this article just to criticize her is quite obsessive and strange. It was a short interview and of course Matt Lauer had to ask Kristen about the Hunger Games movie. I liked her polite reply. Charlize was funny when she mentioned needing a crystal ball to answer that question. I always feel so bad for Jennifer Lawrence being asked at every opportunity and now it’s Kristen’s turn to weigh in on eachother’s blockbuster movies. I wish they would let them promote their movies in peace.

  17. shailee says:

they both did good, Kristen is still a little shy but that’s her, the movie looks good, Kristen will shine in this movie!!

  18. TXCinderella says:

Once again, Kristen is so full of class. I cannot stand her “I’m such a badass act”. She could be snapped like a twig by just about everyone.

  19. Kim says:

Always classy when a girl cusses =(

    • suzie says:

would you say the same if a guy was cursing? they’re promoting a ‘badass’ pg-13 movie. I don’t see what’s wrong with the cursing.

  20. sup says:

this kristen chick strikes me as a try-hard hipster.

  21. Jane says:

Ew, dumb as rocks. Yay, down with feminism and equality!

  22. Cheryl says:

Sick of this chic with her rocker bad girl attitude, like she is down and out. She is a bitch; a rich bitch that has been making Hollywood films since childhood. If she doesn’t start smiling and celebrating what a walk in the park life has been, she needs to be punched real soon.

    • ace says:

wow.. violent much? what part of the interview showed her having a bad attitude? the cursing? charlize did the same thing.. not smiling? have you looked closely at the pictures? fans may be seeing through rose colored glasses when it comes to her.. but haters have tunneled vision to when they see her.. even when she’s not doing anything.. they see it as something negative and start vicious comments about her personality like she did something so bad to them.

  23. Jordan says:

So, what about Kristen being a bitch made her choose the whining, sniveling Bella? After seeing her in one movie in that role, I can’t see Kristen as a strong character. She doesn’t project herself as a person who has a lot of confidence.

  24. Brigitte says:

IMO as a psychologist, Kristen comes off as a woman who acts young because she IS young; 21 is young, people. She is awkward at times in interviews and when she is mobbed by lurking paps, but very gracious with fans. She went from being a relative unknown straight into the ‘psychotic situation’ (her words)that the Twilight circus became, with the hard-core screaming, crying, fainting masses. I would also be a bit taken aback by that kind of hysteria. She is growing into herself and into being comfortable with public attention. Cut her some slack. Not everyone is a blatant attention whore like a certain Kardashian. I like Kristen. She reminds me of my daughter.

    • Diana says:

I totally agree with you. The girl is a hard working actress who happens to have made a franchise not everybody loves, but that happens even to oscar winners, just ask Charlize about the whole Eon Flux debacle. She’s young and has time to further adjust to the whole hollywood scene. I find her refreshing and take her anytime over the sea of famewhores that every commenter on this blog complaints so much about. I gess it’s imposible to keep everyone happy.

  25. Lisa says:

I won’t put this in the context of empowerment, because that’s an overused buzzword if ever there was one, but good for them.

You don’t have to trample people with rudeness. I hope they don’t use it as an excuse to throw their weight around, but sometimes you need to be a bitch to get something done. Like Madonna says, if you don’t say what you want, you’re not going to get it.

  26. Cheryl says:

Why can’t we ever call a spade a spade? She has a lot of brashly inappropriate things to say that come off as ungrateful. Do I like her movies? Some times, yeah, I do. I think she can act well, but her attitude and hypersensitivity is unattractive. Ken and Angelina get a lot more bad press and press in general for seven years straight with no breaks, but they act like adults about that at least. She has some ways to go.
