Peaches Geldof looks really skinny just a month after giving birth, right?

Peaches Geldof

Peaches Geldof her baby daddy, Thomas Cohen, have made their first couples-only (in a post-birth sense) outing at the Tunnel of Love event in London. Peaches is looking rather thin, isn’t she? It seems like just yesterday — in fact, it was only just in late April — that Peaches gave birth to baby boy Astala, which means that Peaches has lost this weight in just over a month. Kaiser and I both think that Peaches is looking far too thin for only giving birth a month ago, and she’s actually looking pretty close to her weight last summer before she got pregnant. Of course, that particular dramatic weight loss reportedly occurred thanks to a braindead juicing diet. So what’s her secret weight loss weapon this time?

Peaches Geldof

While it’s completely possible (although not entirely probable) that Peaches has burned a significant amount of weight from breastfeeding, perhaps it’s just her loose dress at this event that’s leading me to believe that she might be up to a few old habits. I’ll just leave it at that. Also, it must be pretty difficult for Peaches to be in a relationship with a very skinny guy like Thomas without worrying about her own weight. Naturally skinny dudes are difficult like that.

That doesn’t look good.. Hope she didn’t go back to drugs to lose the weight quick, but looks like it 😮

    • beyonce's bump says:

Ya me thinks its drugs as well….on another note, that boyfriend’s trousers? I know he’s all hipster but man those trousers. *blank stare*

      • Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

I can’t get beyond those trousers either- they look like the homespun made on a farm when they didn’t have sewing machines or something odd that I can’t quite figure out, and your celebitchy name is awesome, thanks for the well needed chuckle 🙂

      • QQ says:

I want to call them Trousers Blousy Pantaloons and really, that’s jut how i Feel about him: a Blousy pantaloon Type of guy

      • Cait says:

I know! Those are the worst pants ever. Doesn’t help that they’re pulled up to his chin either.

      • ema82m says:

the pants are dreadful…at first glance I thought he was a woman…there is a reason why not many men wear high waisted trousers!

      • Veronica says:

        He, I… just can’t . He is so icky…

    • RocketMerry says:

Right? I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but there are several elements that point against her being healthy and drug-free:
      – there have been quite consistent rumours about her drug use, way before she got pregnant.
      – she does not look healthy-thin, at all; rather, she looks very sickly-thin.
      – her family has, unfortunately, a very severe history of drug usage. Not every individual is affected by this sort of family history, but some are.
      – finally, I really regret to point out that since she was not naturally “I can see ya bones” skinny before, we can assume this was not natural “fast metabolism” weight loss.

Now, I’m willing to really go out on a limb and wishfully say maybe this weight loss in not from drugs but from gastric bypass? That would explain the ridiculously quick weight loss, both before and after pregnancy.
Maybe she started dating her guy and decided in order to be appealing to him she needed to resemble his rail-thin appearance?

  2. Lilalis says:

Since she didn’t gain much weight during her pregnancy, I think it’s quite possible that she lost it all by breastfeeding so fast. I had gained nearly 40 pounds with my pregnancy and lost it within 2 months by breastfeeding.

But what happend to her tooth (last two pics)?

    • spugzbunny says:

      oooo good spot!

      • Veronica says:

Looks like she lost a veneer and hasn’t had it replaced yet

      • midnightmoon says:

the darker tooth matches the color in her dress. ooh! maybe this will become a fashion trend. Lindsay! your new fashion forward moment awaits you!

geez that Peaches is a bag of skin & bones. she actually looks quite well in the face (when she doesn’t smile) compared to past photos i’ve seen of her.

he, on the other hand, looks inbred and stupid. oh well, only someone like that would make a baby with a known druggie.

best o luck to the kidlet. i’m not holding my breath for the fairy tale life.

  3. Elena says:

It’s not impossible to loose baby weight in a month without substance abuse or something of the sort. Trust me.

    • lamamu says:

Not true. She’s really young and may be nursing. I was 22 when I had my first and was below my pre-baby weight after two weeks from the nursing….never been so hungry in my life!

    • lamamu says:

Sorry! Didn’t see the “not.” 🙂

    • Snowpea says:

Well normally I can’t bear the ‘I fit into my skinny jeans as I strolled out of hospital’ brigade…

…but I had just turned 24 when I had my first child (and was pregnant 6 weeks later but thats a whole other story ; ) and within 6 weeks I was THINNER than I’d been before the baby (55 kg, dunno what that is in pounds)…

My point is that when you are quite young, you breastfeed on demand and you eat healthily, it IS possible to lose all the weight in that time.

      Trust me ; )

      • Jess says:

Too true, 500 extra calories per day are burned from breastfeeding. If you don’t eat like crap and drink plenty of water it can happen. But that involves being healthy and her background doesn’t have a history of health and wellness…

    • Snowpea says:

      Ooops i didn’t see the ‘not’ either…

I’m TOTALLY crap with double negatives…I get soooo confused ; )

  4. marie says:

Her baby daddy needs to wash his hair, and is he wearing girl pants?

  5. jaye says:

I was back to my pre-preggo weight a month after giving birth, no drugs or ridiculous diets. I didn’t even breastfeed. It can happen.

    • Pamela says:

I lost weight while pregnant. I was a little chubby when my daughter was conceived—and then I developed gall stones during the pregnancy. They didn’t want to operate while I was pregnant if it could be avoided..so to avoid excrutiating gall bladder attacks, I ate very low fat while pregnant. Couple that with the fact that I craved fruit and tomato soup like crazy (ie. ate very light and healthy)–and after leaving the hospital, I weighed a whopping 33 lbs LESS than I weighed when she was conceived. I had a 10lb 2oz healthy baby girl. All that said, I think that losing weight while pregnant is rare, and it temds to happen with women who had weight to lose to begin with.

  6. lucy2 says:

Yikes, her boyfriend looks more like an older ugly sister no one talks about!

She doesn’t seem to take good care of herself, hope she does better for the baby.

  7. I.want.shoes says:

She’s got an orange tooth and he’s wearing girl’s pants.

    • Boo says:

Yes, I was just going to ask about that tooth. Is this some sort of hipster thing that I am too old to understand? Or is she just a lil bit whacko?

  8. Rubenesque says:

Eh. She’s 23. Eat a salad for lunch at 23 and you drop 10 lbs. It isn’t until your 30’s that the post-pregnancy pudge settles in and sets up camp on your hips.

  9. Sue says:

Those pants are def not flattering (even for a female). I know people who have dropped baby weight very quckly without drugs, etc. Think that happens alot with first babies and age plays into it also…..

  10. LAK says:

Oh. That Thomas Cohen looks like a young Bob Geldof.

  11. Alexis says:

Maybe she didn’t actually have the baby herself, Bey-style!

Peaches was never this skinny without effort so I don’t see how she could “snap back” without effort to something she never naturally was. Yeah she’s 23, but body types are body types. Something’s up.

  12. RN says:

I know quite a few women who dropped their postpartum weight within a month or two without extreme measures. I worked with one nurse in her late thirties who fought to keep weight on to breast feed her son. Even with a 40 lb weight gain, I too lost all of my weight by month 4 PP. I would imagine it’s even easier if one is in her early twenties.

  13. NM6804 says:

Is this the same Peaches that had a normal (read: heavier) weight for a long time and only had a tiny frame when doing harddrugs? That is why people where so amazed/upset that she got pregnant. She was not exactly the epitome of health and maturity. Her dramatic weight loss was discussed often enough and not in a positive way.

And this ‘losing massive amount of weight through breastfeeding’ is bull. Can’t believe celebs actually use this when it’s obvious it’s with starvation and workout or even drugs they achieve their thin frame weeks after giving birth and then try to pass it off as ‘natural weight loss’ without effort. Puh-lease, only the few with amazing genes can shed the weight in a heartbeat and then still there would be some amount of personal effort to tone the body.

I guess pregnancy/cute babies really whitewashes one’s image *sigh*

    • Cait says:

Right? If I had a personal trainer and dietician, I could lose weight more quickly than I have postpartum.

And because your body needs a little meat on your bones to successfully produce the right fat content for milk, there’s always that last five pounds that you can’t lose until you stop.

    • Umlaut says:

Fair point. Breastfeeding burns about 500 calories a day (equating to a pound a week in weight loss), but you’ve got to be pretty vigilant about eating exactly enough to keep milk supply up without eating back the calories burned.

Gain 30 pounds, lose 15 in the delivery, and you’ve still got a few months before you’re at your pre-pregnancy weight. Exercise isn’t encouraged until at least six weeks (assuming delivery was normal), and even then, you have to go pretty easy. Beyonce is simply lying when she claims to have been doing plyometrics weeks after delivery.

Yes, extremes happen — I’ve had friends who became absolute sticks breastfeeding without any significant effort — but for most of us, sleepless nights, all that sitting around nursing, and appetite increase will have the weight stay on for six months at least. I’m fairly certain that celebs who claim radical, immediate weight loss are on extremely restricted diets and don’t breastfeed for long, if at all.

    • Lucky Charm says:

Why don’t you believe it can happen (lose baby weight quickly without drugs)? One of the girls in my Lamaze class came home from the hospital wearing her pre-pregnancy jeans. Between breastfeeding and taking my daughter for daily walks in her stroller, I was skinnier a month after she was born then when I got pregnant, and I wasn’t heavy to begin with. Yes, you do have to eat more calories while nursing, but because you eat more frequently (always hungry, lol!) and nurse fairly often your metabolism stays working around the clock. Therefore you burn more calories and lose weight.

      • NM6804 says:

@Cait: Yes, most of us have to worry about running a household, working etcetera while being a mother. Being a mother for celebs is actually time off bcause they can ride the PR-waves, money and positive attention by selling their baby or just being able to enjoy their children without having to worry about a thing. These celebrities are not representing ideal lifestyles concering motherhood nor are they attainable.

@Umlaut: Thanks for the input, it’s spot on. Especially the part about explaining that doing fitness isn’t even allowed nor encouraged fresh after giving birth. I would say it is uncomforable and even painful to push your body to the limit only for vanity reasons. It’s astonishing…

@Lucky Charm: I do think it is possible but the people who snap back in their pre-pregnancy form probably have amazing genes. So sorry, but those women are most certainly in the minority. This trend that arose with “being thin two seconds after birth” started with these crazy celebs and nowadays it has become popular to emulate that beauty trend. I don’t think that these women all of a sudden have great genes but more like even more pressure to be thin no matter what your body just went through.

Your story (and Umlaut’s) while believable is hardly the norm. And certainly not when talking about rich delusional folk =). I’ve got a girl in my class who had two children at a young age (she’s 22 now) and she is thin but her stomach is flabby and she can’t get it toned. Compare that to celebs who show off their toned stomachs on the beach or photoshoots 1 month after birth. Not normal without at least some fitness/surgery and certainly not acquired from just breastfeeding ;).

Btw, I surely don’t have to explain why I think Peaches is a girl that can ONLY be that sickly thin because of hardrugs?

        Thanks for the stories!

  14. Sammy-jo says:

For Christ sake it’s in her genes..mother was thin after every pregnancy. Plus she is European so her diet is far better than the “All American processed” diet. What are pop tarts?!?!

    • Boo says:

Sure, her mother was thin, but she too dabbled in the pharmaceuticals, no?

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Sammy Jo-Have you ever been to the UK? Bangers n’ mash, fish n chips, and Yorkshire pudding isn’t exactly health food.

      • Melanie says:

Yeah, that’s what we all eat at every meal every day 🙂

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

Not saying that, just saying that the British (and UK in general) are not exactly put on a pedestal as the healthiest people. The funniest people though, most definitely. Love Brit humor 🙂

    • pf says:

Brits might not eat Yorkshire pudding every single day, but they’re definitely into eating their Tesco convenient foods, like crisps and chocolates and sausage rolls. Once having lived there, I was surprised they’re not much different from Americans when it comes to eating snack foods.

      • lower-case deb says:

i’m always compelled to eat more Walkers more Walkers.

gotta keep Lovely Lineker in employment!

    • Umlaut says:

And her chunky frame for most of her life would indicate that she’s not particularly well-acquainted with a healthy lifestyle.

I went to school in England and we were fed mostly potatoes and starches. Grocery stores had few options for fruits and veggies. I gained ten pounds.

  15. lola says:

    addiction!!!!

  16. DeltaJuliet says:

Goodness what an odd looking “man”. I’m not sure I could ever make a baby with a dude who looked like that lol

  17. Kittykat says:

    UG! These two…

  18. fabgrrl says:

Meh. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, simply because I hope with all my heart that she is sober and healthy for her baby. She is very young. When I was 23 I could lose weight just by thinking about it. Also, her man is thin. I know that I personally, can’t stand to be larger/heavier than my husband, who is a thin guy.

  19. nikzilla37 says:

Those two look like junkies to me.

    • Lucy says:

      Right??

Anyone that thinks she lost her weight by breastfeeding is fooling themselves or has never been around anyone that as done drugs. Poor kid (the baby) I am just glad she has the resources to have a nanny.

  20. JonahT says:

Huh. Pretty skinny I guess. I don’t really “get her” general, but her guy is actually nice and quite shy (I met him once). His band is actually surprisingly good – they’ve been together forever and they’re a pretty intelligent and well-read bunch.

So…I’d hazard a guess that he’s a good influence? But who knows. And I honestly think his t-shirt bothers me more than the pants.

  21. Amazon says:

I like how when Beyonce loss of her weight quickly, ever says that she wasn’t ever pregnant. But when Peaches loses weight quickly it’s because of breastfeeding!!!! These double standards need to STOP! I hate to tell people this but Black people CAN lose weight fast too! And not ALL Black women get huge during pregnancy! So why is it ok to say that Victoria Beckham and Peaches Geldof lost weight fast because of breastfeeding, but when it comes to Beyonce the only “possible” reasoning of her fast weight loss is that she never was pregnant?

  22. TheOriginalKitten says:

Those pants are higher than my gramps used to wear ’em (RIP gandpa!).

  23. kpist says:

That happens sometimes when you are really young and you have a child, within one month I had lost all the baby weight and then some. I weighed 95 lbs afterwards. (not anymore….) I was only 19 years old when I had my daughter. Now, she’s 22!! But I ate like crazy. I was just so tired.

  24. Lindsey says:

This dude is so …. gross looking. I think I’ll go stare at Idris Elba and Ewan McGregor to cleanse my eyeballs of this tomfoolery.

  25. bluhare says:

What’s that weird bald spot on the side of his head?

  26. Amanda_M87 says:

Why are his pants practically up to his armpits?

  27. Dap says:

The boy has the body of an old man. His face is not unattractive, but the posture is awful.

  28. Jen34 says:

Nursing takes a lot of calories. I don’t think she dropped the weight from breast feeding.

However, it is ridiculous to assume it’s drugs. Plenty of women drop their pregnancy weight quickly.

  29. Zelda says:

Young. First baby. Didn’t get big and fat during the pregnancy. Maybe a diet.

You all really think she’s on drugs a month after birth just because she did them before? Quick to judge or oblivious to the fact that drugs can be recreational?

Amyway, I’m rooting for Peaches. I’ll root for this crazy bitch.

  30. Patricia says:

Peaches has a peach colored toof.

  31. Cait says:

I breastfeed, and it’s taken me six months since I had my daughter to get back to a size 4. Breastfeeding only burns about 500 calories a day…so chances are good her diet is pretty horrible.

  32. Bodhi says:

I am insanely jealous of women who lose the baby weight right away. My son is 13 months old & I have lost 10 lbs & have 30 to go. I eat well & workout on a very regular basis. Some women just have a harder time losing weight.

I hope that she isn’t back on drugs, but I wouldn’t put it past her

    • Monkey Jim says:

I love your honesty when you say you were insanely jealous. The first pics of any post-partum celeb are immediately scrutinised – woe betide you if you’ve you’ve lost weight too fast/not fast enough! Traitor! I was stuck in hospital for a week after my first due to complications from c-section, I wasn’t big to begin with, plus a week of inedible hospital food & being quite ill meant the weight fell off me. AND I got several snarky comments about rapid weight loss when that was last thing on my mind. You can’t win!

Though I’m still not convinced Bey wasn’t sporting a pillow, obviously…

  33. Angie says:

She doesnt look sickly, just skinny. I am sure they are both just on some pretentious whole food vegan diet together or something.

  34. supervisor says:

that ‘guy’ she had a baby with looks exactly like a younger version of her father- i’m not kidding.

  35. the original bellaluna says:

I really, really hope it’s not drugs. How much did she gain? Wasn’t she carrying relatively small any way?

*Hint: This is where someone gives me a glimmer of hope; for all the reasons Rocket Merry cited above.

  36. skuddles says:

The boyfriend looks kinda like a girlfriend…. You’re right Supervisor – he does resemble a young Bob Geldof in a way.

    • supervisor says:

actually scuddles- take a look at this picture of a young bob geldof and tell me her fiance doesn’t look like a damn clone.
i am serious- this chick definitely has it for daddy! check this out!
this is bob back in the day-
      http://www.note4piano.com/zoomimage.php?zoomimage=AM92224

      • skuddles says:

Geez, you’re so right supervisor… I had forgotten that Geldof ever looked that young and fresh (and borderline effeminate). I used to have a thing for him back in the day… remember the movie Pink Floyd the Wall? Sigh…. thought he was soooo hot! But anyway, yeah, it is odd that Peaches is hooking up with a Daddy doppelganger…

  37. fabgrrl says:

As long as we are on the “breastfeeding causes weight loss” topic, I thought I would add my thoughts. I breastfed and lost a good bit of preggy weight *initially*, but then I stopped dropping the weight. When I tried to diet it off, my milk production went down. This meant my baby wanted to eat CONSTANTLY. I decided sleep was more important to me then my skinny jeans, so I upped my calories to 1700/day, and my milk flow resumed. I feel that my body wants to be a size 10 (US) and will fight to stay that way. *I* want to be a size 6, but I had to wait until I was done nursing to get back to that.

    • normades says:

Yup, just what I said on a Bey post. You cannot eat lettuce all day and have a healthy milk supply.

I was a lucky one. I eat a lot while bfing and lost 2 dress sizes from my pre-preggo body after 6 months.

But I did not look this skinny after 5 weeks.

      Ever see those Reddit pics?

  38. Jenna says:

The hell are those pants he’s wearing? Instead of a male version of mom-jeans, he’s wearing what? Mom-trousers/slacks?

  39. Mia says:

What’s up with her tooth? Gross.

  40. ZenB!tch says:

Ewwww he looks like her dad…. Ewwwww!

  41. Mi says:

Well she didn’t really gain much weight to begin with durning her pregnancy so it’s not impossible that she lost what little she gained in this small period of time.

  42. Liz says:

It’s actually normal for some women to lose the weight quickly. Especially if you are young and naturally thin, your body can bounce back quicker then you would expect. I was like this with my first pregnancy (I gained 30 lbs) a month after the baby was born I was back to my pre pregnancy weight and 6 months into it I was under weight and had to struggle to keep my weight up while nursing. During my pregnancy I ate very healthy and tried to take a walk every day which helps your body tremendously afterwards.

  43. april says:

i guess i am the only one who doesnt know who peaches geldof is…

  44. Tara says:

    who are these people?

  45. Ck says:

    I think it’s unfair to assume drugs… Restricted diet fa sho… ^_^

And side topic: she’s been bleaching her hair and looking more like her mom as well… I’m sure it’s a romantic subconscious thing that she feels she and her baby daddy are like a rebirth of her rents…
This isn’t creepy to me.. It’s kinda sad considering her mom ODd when she was little.. I have found myself dating guys who have similar characteristics to my parents (mentioned this before – dad died when I was little and moms an addict) so I symPathize with this… She seems happier than I’ve seen…. And as someone said before, I’m rooting for her hahah don’t know why, but I am 🙂
