Miranda Kerr Instagrams proof of her gigs: trying to prove something?

Miranda Kerr

When I started wondering why Miranda Kerr keeps oddly posting photos from her modelling shoots on Instagram, a not-so-nice thought pattern began to form. Are these photos evidence, perhaps? As in evidence that Miranda’s career is just fine even after all of the hoopla of her losing her Victoria’s Secret angel wings and then trying to change the story to how the decision to step down was hers because she simply didn’t have the time to commit to a full contract with VS?

Now Miranda has swiftly gotten into the habit of posting little snippets of these gigs to social media, and while she does look ethereally beautiful in these photos, they do seem like she’s seeking validation. After all, many models like Bar Refali and even budding ones like Ireland Baldwin simply use social media to post beach photos and silly stuff. So in that regard, Miranda’s behavior is quite different.

Here’s Miranda posing alongside various models for the 2014 Pirelli calendar.

And here’s evidence of Miranda’s presence in the Mango campaign. These photos come out anyway, so why is she posting them to Instagram?

Oh, but perhaps I spoke too soon! Miranda just posted a photo of her adorable dog, Frankie. Maybe she’ll get the hang of this social media stuff after all.

Eh, I think she’s like so many others posting pics of herself where she looks good.

I don’t think she looks ethereally beautiful in the first few photos — She looks ethereally greasy. And I’m sort of sick of pretty people posting photo after photo of themselves. Desperate much?

LOL Alessandra and Miranda stick out like sore thumbs among those legit supermodels.

    • Claire says:

That is exactly what I thought! They look like amateurs compared with the rest. I don’t get Miranda, but I definately don’t get Alessandra

  4. bowers says:

I think she likes to look at herself.

  5. Charlotte says:

    She looks beautiful.

I don’t see ‘beautiful’, I see average but with a great body. There’s nothing about her face for me to get excited about.

She has beautiful wide set eyes, a heart- shaped face and great brows (so does the dog). I hope she never lets a plastic surgeon get near her great face.

    Frankie looks a little annoyed.

Shes posting flattering snaps I think.

Adriana Lima’s instagram is the same, except sometimes -or most of the time- it’s just repeat pictures of her past gigs.

Maybe she’s just the type of person who constantly seeks validation like that – if she shows others how awesome she is, she feels better about herself. Like those people who fill their facebook and instagram with pics from school or work to prove how smart and/or successful they are.

There was a time Miranda Kerr was starting to feel Goop-y to me. But I’ve decided to soften up on her for now. I do think she is a little desperate, but at least she seems to have gotten rid of that holier-than-thou attitude she conveyed after she had Flynn.

Since her name has been mentioned, it’s a good time for me to reveal Adrianna Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, are models that have always annoyed me. I don’t know why. I like them, but find them terribly annoying.

Seriously? Almost all models post pictures of their gigs on Instagram, I don’t see the problem with her doing it

  12. Maude says:

Coco Rocha posts pictures from her gigs as well as other personal photos. I don’t think it is odd.

i think this is also a way for some celebs or models to stay relevant. feed the fans you have so they wont forget you, IG is getting more and more popular so its the best way to promote yourself. its pr for their work and themself.
Woman posting constantly staged selfies with hundeds of filters are annoying and they are just a proof of how insecure they really are, its like a battle sometimes. With all the filters, even ordinary people can look very good like models. and the media shows woman your only good if you look perfect. nothing else is acceptable.

Have you noticed she uses Instagram for free advertising too. She posts a selfie and the Daily Mail picks it up and posts a badly written story about her several times a month. Kora Organics doesn’t need an advertising budget when the Dail Mail posts her “ads” gratis.

    • Littlewood says:

Yes and it’s very annoying. Thanks DM, if I wanted to know what she posts on her instagram everyday I will follow her over there no need to make a non-article about it. But I won’t follow her instagram because it’s one of the most boring ones out there. Flowers, “inspirational quotes”, Kora, old photo-shoot, kora, the dog or child, kora… boring and it looks like Pinterest threw up all over it! Does this woman not have a hobby or friends? And why is she never seen with her husband?

  15. Maria says:

I think she takes herself a little too seriously. Also people like Bar or Ireland actually seem like they would be nice, friendly people. I don’t get that vibe with Kerr.

    So beautiful~
