Kylie Jenner, 16, and Jaden Smith, 15, pose in bed together: are they trolling us?

kyliejaden
Last week there was a lot of hand-wringing over a photo of Willow Smith, 13, laying across a bed while a 20 year-old Disney actor named Moises Arias was seated shirtless behind her. Arias is a friend of the Smith family and he has denied that the picture was anything other than innocent. Arias defended the photo by saying that he considers the Smiths his second family and thinks of Willow as his “little sister.”

I wrote that the photo made me wonder who was parenting Willow, and if she had appropriate adult supervision around her. I think the answer is clearly “no,” especially after Jada Pinkett Smith called everyone who dared question the photo “covert pedophiles… projecting your trash.” We’ve also heard The Smiths say multiple times that they consider their kids little adults who can make their own decisions.

Now a photo has surfaced of Jaden Smith, 15, sitting in bed in just his undies while Kylie Jenner, 16, hugs him from behind. This photo was posted by Kylie to Tumblr on April 29, which was well before the big scandal over Willow’s photo. (HuffPo just brought it to people’s attention.) Of course someone else is taking the photo and we don’t know the situation. It’s likely this is by the same photographer as Willow’s picture as it’s also in black and white. All of these kids went to Coachella together so this was probably taken then.

Considering the timing I don’t think Kylie and Jaden are trolling us, they just think it’s normal to post photos like this to social media. They’re kids, they don’t see anything wrong with doing their thing and posting intimate photos online. I don’t want to think too hard about what that means exactly. To me I just see underage kids whose parents need to pay more attention to what their children are doing and have a serious talk with them. You know that’s not going to happen though. Kris Jenner loves the publicity and Jada and Will Smith think their son and daughter are super mature at 15 and 13 and can do whatever they want. They have a lot of time free, too, considering that both the Smith and Jenner siblings are homeschooled.

If it involves a Jenner/Kardashian then more often than not, yes.

  2. doofus says:

for so many of these kids, “home-schooled” means “NOT schooled”.

    and it shows.

    • Alexis says:

^THIS. I have family in the industry and it’s truly astonishing how many of these Hollywood-types have NO education. It’s a shame because they can afford to send their children to the finest schools and, I don’t know, actually DO something meaningful with their lives.

    • Original Lee says:

it really does depend on the parents – I’ve know homeschooled kids who went on to be valedictorian for their class in college, and I’ve also known kids whose education essentially ended once they were taken out of a traditional schooling environment.

It’s just unfortunate in cases like these where the parents could afford their children the best education available in the world (private schools, prep / boarding schools). I hope these kids have a tutor or someone making sure they’re completing their school work. Obviously they’re extremely wealthy and money won’t be an issue, but still….

      • Unschooling Mom says:

Willow Smith was presented an award on some show. When asked to read what was written on it, she stumbled through it like a 5 year old. It’s pretty apparent that her parents are more concerned with taking nice family pictures than reading to their children and educating them so they can manage their own talent and not have to hire thieving Hollywood “pros” to help them execute contracts and manage their money.

    • HappyMom says:

I homeschooled for a few years-so it totally pisses me off to see these kids just hanging out all the time. Some people “unschool” where the kids follow their own interests-but generally they read, or learn actual life skills, possibly do internships. It doesn’t mean just partying and spending money. Ugh.

      • raindrop says:

I was “unschooled” and I loved it. I started college at 16, with absolutely no bad connotations for studying, testing, etc. – I was excited to be in class and very motivated. My younger sisters had slightly structured curriculums, because it suited their personalities. Homeschooling and unschooling can be far better or far worse than public school, depending on the children, parents, and situation.

      • original kay says:

        I home school, grade 7 and 2.

it’s great. pressure free. it’s what you make it. education is very important to me and my husband, so we take it seriously.
of course, it’s flexible so we do lots of other things to educate.

    • doofus says:

to be clear folks, my intent was not to bash ALL home-schooling…I know that there are parents who take it very seriously and the kids get a good, well-rounded education and are also active in community sports so they do get socialized.

I was referring specifically to people like the Kardashian/Jenners and the Smiths who say “home-school” to avoid any child-endangerment charges but are not really schooling their kids at all.

      • swack says:

And weren’t the Jenners pulled out of school and home-schooled so that they could persue their careers (whatever careers they have)? I also thought at one time the Smith children went to the school their parents help found (now it’s closed).

      • Valois says:

I am so happy that homeschooling is illegal in Germany. At least under current circumstances.

      • Jen says:

        “socialized” Haha, you’re funny

  3. dorothy says:

She’s a Kardashian, of course she’s trolling for attention.

    • idk says:

Actually she’s a Jenner, but now a days there’s no difference.

Anyone else think Kylie’s had lip injections?

  4. jwoolman says:

Aww. He’s just trying to take the heat off his little sister. That’s actually sweet.

  5. Naye in VA says:

Its both weird and not at the same time. Im like “absolutely not!” in my mother voice, but I see these pictures of them out to eat, walking down the street, even at Coachella, and honestly, these kids are having much more “adult” relationships than I was at that age when I had to sneak to my bf’s house, or get a parent to drive us to the movies, and nobody just gave us money for dates. So…Im confused. If given the opportunity and capability, would my youth have been like theirs just based on resources? Even with attentive parents?

  6. aims says:

Where are the parents? Everyone is so concerned about being a friend and nobody is being a teacher and parent.

    • idk says:

Kris Jenner is proud…this is exactly what she wants.

    • Nicolette says:

SMH. They’re too caught up in themselves to bother caring about their kids. Imagine what Nori will be doing in the future.

  7. Mayamae says:

They’re not alone in bed – you can see someone else’s leg. All I can say is at least he doesn’t have that moronic look on his face.

Who drives these underage kids around all day while they socialize with their fellow under educated friends?

  8. idk says:

Why are they homeschooled anyways? Their “careers” aren’t that busy. All they do is party and shop and eat at restaurants. Their parents can afford the best education. I don’t get it.

  9. Josephine says:

Of course they are trolling. They have no other way of getting validation in their lives – their lives revolve around being seen and talked about. Sad and empty.

  10. Delta Juliet says:

I think they are trolling. Once they saw all of the “oh I’m sure it’s nothing” comments on Wiilow’s picture they probably put this one up thinking “oh yeah, what about this one?”. These kids, hell, these FAMILIES, are all about getting attention.

Also, I went back and looked that the picture of them all sitting at the table and all I can think is how I would hate to the be waiter/waitress taking care of that table. A bunch of rich entitled kids with no adult around. That must be fun.

  11. jwoolman says:

Kylie has been 16 and terrorizing the roadway with a license for quite some time now, so if we use the general rule that girls are about two years ahead of boys in maturity — isn’t she almost 19 in boy years? Cradle robber… 🙂

  12. Zen1016 says:

Do they ever go to school?

    • idk says:

School? Please for the Jenners/Kardashians school isn’t necessary. Since when do you need an education to take selfies and do pr stunts? All these girls need to know is how to pose and put out fake stories about themselves and then later deny it. Just think if it it wasn’t for Kim’s tape, we wouldn’t even know who Kylie and Kendall are.

      • melvel says:

To be fair, Kourtney and Rob both finished college. The other two Kardashians didn’t. And I doubt Kylie and Kendall will go to college too.

  13. eliza says:

As usual the Jenner/Kardashian publicity machine works masterfully at getting the no-talent children talked about in the press. Mission accomplished. Attention whires, party of two, your table is ready.

    • BeckyR says:

Well, said. These kids have no education and no boundaries. NO talent and no career prospects except riding on parent’s notoriety. Pathetic.

  14. BeckyR says:

Kylie Jenner is so needy for attention.

  15. feebee says:

Hell yes they’re trolling. It doesn’t help that he looks about 12 in the photo on bed.

  16. Ag says:

it’s sad that the people who could afford the very best in education, at very stage in a child’s life, just piss away that opportunity.

  17. dahlia1947 says:

I think they are trolling us. The blanket he’s wrapped in looks like it has marijuana leaves printed on it. Sigh… these kids have access to A lot of things, and it looks like their road is going to get really bumpy.

  18. swack says:

I don’t care how many people are in the room with them, there must be somewhere else these CHILDREN can hang out in the house other than the bedroom. Plus, what is that look on his face in the first pic – not a good one.

  19. Leek says:

If this is the future of celebrity then I will be saving a lot of money on cable bills someday.

  20. original kay says:

all I can think of is the movie “Parenthood”, where keanu’s character holds up the camera and says “we can record our love”.

    (facepalm)

  21. Lia says:

The Smith kids, the Jenners, Bieber and Cyrus….. the four most annoying, ridiculous, snot-nosed kids in Hollywood. These twits and their silly parents seem oblivious to how they’re really seen by the public outside of their circle of sycophants. They, and their ridiculous parents, should be embarrassed. But, they never will be.

  22. Size Does Matter says:

An odd observation – none of these people have likely ever looked at a menu and not ordered something they wanted because of the price. Stars, they’re nothing like us. And these people aren’t even really stars in their own right.

  23. MARKWEER says:

I understand that they are kids, but eventually I see a Bret Easton Ellis “LESS THAN ZERO” thing happening when they become adults. It won’t be pretty. Ask Bobbie Christina

  24. Maria of MD says:

You know, no one ever told these wretches the old adage: If you want to make yourself valuable (as a public commodity), you must make yourself scarce. Jaden’s too young to be this boring, but that’s his parents for you: they could have kept him off the public radar while he was a minor and really had him focus on an education. Instead, he’s courting fake fame.

  25. Gymo says:

Jaden is already a millionaire from his movies and teens clothing line, he is financially secure without his parents.
Willow is already a millionaire from films and music.
Kylie, I don’t know her status. – but she has a lot of self earned money also.
These kids get more done during a day than what many of us accomplish in years.
We can’t just call them trust-fund babies because they are building their own wealth empire
