Justin Theroux confirms renovation closet drama but says it’s ‘not a drive-in closet’

With the overwhelming dearth of real gossip about Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux over the past few months, the tabloids have been talking about their closet space. I kid you not. Radar, The Enquirer, Star, all have run stories about Jennifer’s endless renovations on the huge Bel Air pad she bought a few years ago. Apparently, Jennifer blew out a wall in the garage just so she’d have more closet space for all of her LBDs. That’s what all of the tabloids said, in any case. She might even have something like 2000 square feet of closet space. Well, since Justin is barely promoting his HBO show, he did a radio interview and wouldn’t you know, he got asked about closet space. WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS?

Step aside, Tim Allen and Tool Time, there are two new home improvement pros in town, and they go by the names of Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston. The Hollywood couple is currently residing in a massive mansion in Bel-Air, which they bought for more than $20 million in 2012 and has already undergone months of renovations.

However, they had one more project in the works for this year. Rumors began swirling earlier this month that Aniston, 45, had claimed the home’s garage as a fixer-upper to replace it with a powder room and walk-in closet. Theroux, 42, caught up with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Thursday morning, June 26, to promote his new HBO program The Leftovers, when the DJs asked if the renovation rumors were true.

“[Did you] convert your drive-in garage into, like, a drive-in closet?” Theroux was questioned.

“We have made an extension on our house,” Theroux explained. “I don’t know what [was] made into what, but we found more room to create a better bathroom and a closet. It sounds probably more elaborate than it is, but basically when we were out of town—she was working, I was working—we took that opportunity to create a little more closet space.”

Theroux added that the rumors of the bigger closet are “confirmed,” but it is not, in fact, a drive-in closet.

[From Us Weekly]

This is for all of the people who don’t believe Radar and The Enquirer. The reports were actually true. Jennifer did blow out a wall in her garage to make her closet bigger. I wonder if Justin really gives a crap though, because he spends most of his time in NYC anyway. So… if Radar has gotten it right on Aniston this time, does that mean they’ve gotten it right before? Probably.

PS… This just proves how lousy this week has been for gossip (except for the Shia LaBeouf and Gary Oldman nonsense). I still would have written about JustJen if the story had been “Breaking: Aniston enjoys oatmeal.”

Is it just me or does Jen’s closet look pregnant?

      LMAO…good one!

and TBT, if I could have a huge closet like that, I would. I hate not being able to see everything I own.

I guess I could just get rid of some stuff, but what fun would that be?

  2. lisa2 says:

I think people knew the story was true because of the building permits. Those were the only reason I believe it. That is a lot of space for 2 people I would be using the closets in the empty rooms. I mean this house has more than one master bedroom.

  3. Loopy says:

$20m dollar house for her seems alot, could be wrong ,she doesn’t exactly make Cameron Diaz money on her movies, could be residuals from Friends. Anyone know a reliable link to find out peoples net worth?

  4. epiphany says:

Or how about, “Breaking – Aniston IS oatmeal.’

  5. Size Does Matter says:

Justin parked in the closet. Explains a lot, actually.

  6. Fannie says:

The only reason Radar got this “right” was because they pulled the building permits, which are public records. And they still managed to muck it up with the “drive-in” angle and with claiming Justin-doesn’t-get-any-closet-space angles.

Radar doesn’t have any real, reliable inside on any body that matters. Maybe Gabriel Aubry during the drama, but Radar in general is sketchy as hell.

  7. Nancy says:

Some people have nothing better to do than make closet space. Others become a Dame for international work in third world.

  8. Francesca says:

The thought of having this much stuff/clothes makes me feel grossed out. It is ridiculous.

  9. Ag says:

i wonder if it annoys him to get asked such ridiculous questions, esp since he has a show to promote. i think it would annoy the hell out of me.

  10. Kaylar says:

He’s got one effed up profile. Scary.

That said… I guess he’s been schooled on the way to convince skeptics and confirm togetherness and commitment thru usage of the ‘we,’ pronoun. 4 in one paragraph.

these two are not going to make it down the aisle.

  12. Ronnie says:

They planted the story themselves then tipped them off. They are over /still in a contract

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I’m just wondering WHY he was asked this in an interview for his tv show. What does renovating his house have to do with his show or him, really? Like whenever celebs are interviewed, we never read questions about what are they doing with their house?

It seems so random; like a really weird filler question.

    • jonB says:

Jolie did the same thing with that breasts removal story
