Ramona Singer is one of those women who won’t shut up about how passionate and perfect her relationship is until she announces her divorce. I embarrassed that I know this.

    • Kiddo says:

I’m embarrassed for you. lol (just teasing fellow gold sparkly bootie shorts wearer).

All I know about her is that she has that wild eyed look.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Lol, you should be! I used to watch RHNY. What a gold sparkly booty shorts wearing loser!

  2. Chris says:

Saw the DanRad interview t’other day and was most interested. He singled out the 6th film, and surprised me. I noticed that flatness he soeaks of but put it down to the ending of the 5th, and its impact on Harry…..so actually thought he did a brilliant job! How odd.
But one scene in 6 was great by anyone’s standards…..his ‘cokey’ transformation after ingesting Felix F….almost suspected Method there!!

    • K says:

He was actually drunk in that scene, he’s admitted it.

      • Chris says:

Well, it worked….it gave off that super-confident effect JKR described.
(One particularly fab bit was the uncharacteristic ‘Hi! as he passed by a lad coming into the common room….smashing touch, I thought.)

    • Reece says:

      What K said.
He’s said in the past that he was pretty much throughout the middle Potter films.

    • Leaflet says:

      @Chris,
I agree Chris. I loved his high after taking Felix Felicis.

    • Belle says:

He has mentioned the 6th film before as being the one he was really struggling with his drinking problem on, saying he showed up many times, still drunk from the night before. I was bugged at him for pointing this out… even though I already thought he was somewhat ‘glazed over’ for most of Half Blood Prince, I found myself actually trying to find his ‘drunk scenes’. Very annoying for an adult Harry Potter fan, and confusing for younger fans. Maybe he was trying to offer an explanation/excuse for his ‘dead behind the eyes’ performance in that movie, but I think all he did was draw more attention to it.

I like Dan, but find myself even more annoyed that he is speaking about his ‘just not very good’ acting in the films, in general now (in several interviews). What is the point of this?? Is he trying to gain new fans by suggesting his acting has improved since those awful HP films? I think it’s a mistake. The only reaction that I have seen is from HP fans who feel like he’s trying too hard to distance himself from the movies that made him famous…. and that he should probably just shut up already and focus on promoting his new work rather than dissing the old. I’m sure he has improved as he has gotten older, but I don’t think it is necessary to bash past work… especially when that past work (as mediocre as it may or may not have been) has A LOT of fans.

    • Petrichor says:

I hadn’t heard that he had a drinking problem during the filming of #6, but it’s always been my least favourite of the movies. I do find him very stiff & wooden in that film, but I’d always put it down to the directing rather than Dan himself because I find many of the performances–including Michael Gambon’s–lacking in that film. I was actually shocked when I discovered that #5 & #6 had the same director, because I thought the on-screen interpretation of the book was brilliant in #5, and #6 is pretty bad in many respects. Everyone seemed a little bored, maybe? I’ve never quite been able to put my finger on it.

  3. K says:

Iggy is a mess and needs to go away.

  4. Tiffany :) says:

I thought that the writing of Black Widow seemed especially poor…so it isn’t surprising that Katy Perry wrote it!

  5. Dani says:

I was half expecting to see Doutzen breastfeeding. Must admit though that her best feeling is pretty accurate.

    • Cel says:

I agree and I don’t know if its just the angle but it looks like she had a good sized baby. Good for ger.

  6. Reece says:

Well it wasn’t but he was a kid so…
He’s gotten better over the years imo.

All I got from the Katy/Iggy thing is at least now I can say I’ve heard part of a Rita Ora song.

  7. lunchcoma says:

I imagine most actors must feel like that, at least ones who care about their craft. Most of my friends who do anything creative, either as a hobby or a profession, look back at some of their older stuff and realize how far they’ve come.

  8. LAK says:

    Well, he’s not wrong there.

  9. Shannon says:

I usually roll my eyes at Dog the Bounty Hunter, but in this case I’m 100% supportive of him dragging the woman-beating monster War Machine to jail.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Me too! I hope War Machine is held accountable for his actions. What a horrible, horrible thing that he did.

    • Anony says:

      AMEN!

I read that whole article in the links section yesterday on CB and was shocked and horrified. I went on TMZ to see if there were more details and regretted it because the comments were disgusting (many saying it’s her fault for being a ‘w’ word or even saying she deserved it) I left their site feeling infuriated.

I really hope CB will keep covering the story as this is the only blog I read. I want to know if they catch him and if Christy Mack heals okay :S

      • Tiffany :) says:

I agree. Comments sections always disappoint me as a woman. Even over on NPR, the story of the female mathematician winning the Fields Medal (math’s highest honor) is filled with male comments about her short hair.

        Sigh.

  10. raindrop says:

His acting skills progressed hugely from the 1st to the 7th films. At first, I wasn’t wild about his casting – or the filmmakers’ inexplicable decision to give him tidy hair and blue eyes – but his portrayal of Harry grew on me, especially during/after the 3rd movie, and he was excellent in both Deathly Hallows films. But we’re all our own best critics, and it seems like he holds himself to a very high standard. I do admire his ability to discuss and critique his own performances without ever criticizing other actors, the directors, crew, etc.

  11. AuroraO says:

Jackie Chan has had some plastic surgery done to his face so he won’t look his actual age for a while.

  12. Murphy says:

I don’t want to live in a world without Jackie Chan.

  13. runCMC says:

Aww I love the swimming article! I swam from age 3 through my sophomore year of college and that brought back soooo many memories! I’d forgotten about sharks and minnows 🙂

    • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Me too! 100 M butterfly was my jam! I was state champ in the 16-18 year old category at age 14. They let me swim up!

  14. Naddie says:

Ah, it wasn’t that bad. I guess he had his ups and downs, but succeeded at showing a regular boy’s struggle to get by tough times. Also, it didn’t help to have an awesome character like Hermione to share the scenes.

  15. jwoolman says:

I thought Radcliffe was fine in the Harry Potter movies. His character grew up in an abusive home where he lived under the stairs… He was supposed to be exactly as he played it. That’s what the director wanted, that’s why he got the part in the first place. The director makes the difference for kid actors. He’s an adult now and has actually managed to make the transition from kid to adult in acting roles. Of course the demands on him are far greater than in Harry Potter. But he has no reason to feel ashamed of his earlier work (except showing up drunk toward the end…).

  16. Marianne says:

I don’t think he’s necessarily trying to trash Harry Potter, I think it was probably hella awkward growing up in front of everyone’s eyes. I mean, Im sure we all are super embarrassed anytime we see an old photo of ourselves or video of ourselves when we were children/teens. I imagine its the same for Daniel.
