Do you remember that giraffe print gown that Piper Perabo wore to her funky wedding, which turned out to be a Michael Kors dress which both Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Campbell had worn on the red carpet before? That’s what I thought Christina Aguilera was wearing here, to the Vanity Fair Oscar party last night. This dress has a higher neck, a wider print, and it’s white and nude, not silver and nude or black and nude as we saw in the Kors version, which I liked way better. This is a pale imitation of the earlier dress, it looks cheap and it’s not that flattering. I would say Aguilera can do better, but that’s debatable.
Here’s Jessica Chastain, also in sparkly white, in H&M Conscious Collection. (Chastain switched it up from her Givenchy gown for the ceremony.) The hemline is so bad and those shoes are Jimmy Choo but they look like Aldo. Cheap. I checked with the H&M people (ok I chatted with a person online while shopping on their website) and they told me the dress is “no longer available” as it “is actually an older item which will not be coming back, unfortunately.”
She looks pretty from the waist up and at least she put waves in her hair for the after party. It was looking limp at the Oscars.
Jaime King’s is in an Altuzarra gold brocade v-neck gown with a bohemian drape. I remember that she just announced her second pregnancy. She didn’t look pregnant to me at all from the front but from the side she has a very noticeable bump.
Patricia Clarkson slayed it in a white formfitting full length dress with a criss-cross bodice. This lady is 55 years old and she does not look pulled or tucked or lasered, just amazing.
Speaking of older women looking incredible, here’s Jane Fonda, rocking another pantsuit, this one with sequins. It could do without the witchy silver shoes, but you work it, Jane.

Christina- just no. Leaving aside the dress- and it should be left aside- the scrapped back hair and the hoop earrings make her look trashy. Am too jealous of patrica clarkson at 55 to do anything but mutter…
Aguilera’s look is just AWFUL! I really like Jaime King’s dress but she needs a different hairstyle. Jessica Chastain is so beautiful but the mullet dress is not a flattering fit on her and the colour is just blah. I think she needs gowns that are better fitted in the waist, both this and her Oscars dress made her look boxy.

Xtina, we need to hear you sing! Been too long. Take a page from Gaga’s book. Drop all the performance pretense of the past, (the endless exhausting riffs, the slutty moves, the bad makeup and hair) and just sing. I miss your beautiful pipes. Don’t care what you wear, don’t need 10 layers of of red lipstick smeared over your face, don’t need to see your boobs or fabric stretched too tight over your ass. Don’t care about your weight.

Is it just me of has something happened to Christina’s face? Perhaps I’m late to the party and this has been happening for years, but geez her face looks super puffy here (and not attributed to baby weight, etc). The dress is not flattering on her at all.

I only like Patricia Clarkson’s and Jamie King’s outfits here. Jane Fonda’s is nice too. With Christina, I don’t think this is a case of trying too hard, but not trying hard enough. It looks half-assed, like she just threw on whatever. Her hair does look better less bleached, but she shouldn’t put it in a ponytail and she still needs a style make-over.
I love Patricia Clarkson. I met her on the street in the west village. She was gushing over this guys puppy on the sidewalk in this fabulous hat an jacket. She was super sweet and loved this puppy. Imagine having her stop you to play with your puppy! And she looked amazing! I didnt realize how old she was. We talked about Six feet under too, my all time favorite tv show which she was an amazing addition to….

WTF Patricia Clarkson defo on the 10 best dressed women of the night, Perfection. Jane Fonda is totally fit. She’s virtually 80 ! Somehow she manages to look slim and toned but not scrawny like so many older women do. I give her props. Her wig is A1 too. Hell I could do with one for my bad hair days.
What in the hell is Christina Aguilera doing there ? She’s a has been and she looks horrible in that dress. She had the baby in August not just recently while I can understand it takes time that is not the dress that is flattering for her to wear. The make up was better though but she just looks pregnant all over again to be honest my first thought when I saw her photo. Christina’s face has changed if you look at photos from 2008 back when she had Max her face wasn’t even puffy still thin and it’s always looking puffy no matter what. She looks terrible and her makeup in her Back to Basic days was just right. She is 34 not 32 but she is looking pretty much 40 years old at this point from all the alcohol and partying she just simply does not take care of herself and she needs to stop with the fillers.
