Tom Hiddleston wears a light denim shirt at Berlin photocall: would you hit it?

wenn22957451

This ^^ is one of Tom Hiddleston’s go-to poses on the red carpet. Most of the high-profile male celebrities have their favorite poses, and at nearly every premiere or photocall, you will see Hiddles tilting his body away from the cameras slightly, one arm folded and one hand raised close to his face. It’s his “Thinker Pose.” And I love it.

These are pics from the Berlin photocall for Crimson Peak today. I think there was some need to see Tom’s long legs? So here you go. I’m pretty sure Hiddles is wearing Vans. Also: how is it that when Benedict Cumberbatch wears a denim shirt, I want to rip my hair out because I hate it so much, but when Tom does it, I think he looks really sexy?

After yesterday’s blowout post about Tommy looking for a lady who will remind him of his mom, the leads are sort of spent. Legendary Pictures did release a featurette with Tom talking about ghosts in the hallway. Here you go:

Even though I do enjoy some Hiddles, I have to say… I still won’t be seeing this movie. It is seriously much too scary for me. Even the commercials for it scare me.

LOL…I call it his “showing off my watch” pose. That said, he looks really good. I’m still debating whether or not to see CP because I scare easily and thriller-horror movies tend to freak me out for a long time. We’ll see!

    • Solanacaea (Nighty) says:

I’m afraid of watching CP because I usually fall asleep with boredom while watching horror movies… 😀

      *not kidding..*

    • NUTBALLS says:

I would call it his “showing off my guns” pose, especially when he wears his customary one-size too-small oxford shirts.

      I like guns.

  2. silken_floss says:

Is he wearing some Vans slip ons?? I never thought he’d deigned to wear such provincial foot wear lol

  3. Esteph says:

Girls back away from Tom. I plan on stealing him 😉

  4. Abbott (Basement Demon) says:

    Where’s Charlie?

  5. Lilacflowers says:

Just finished hitting it in the shower.

Not sure which country we are in today so Colin has prepared an international buffet for us all. After yesterday’s melee, Mark is strictly enforcing the divide between the meadow and veranda.

@Dara, Matthias has finished repairing the gazebo for you.

    • Boston Green Eyes says:

I’m here early. For the buffet. And plan on staying the day. So keep the mimosas coming, Colin, dear!

      • antipodean says:

Fassy was transfixed by my Lady Macbeth, and the whisk got a standing ovation. I took the penicillin you kindly sent over, and I will now dispatch him on his way back to Thornfield where he rightly belongs with Jane. Thanks for the lend of him, (airily waves hand).

    • vauvert says:

Ah feel faint just watchin’… (Said in my best Southern belle breathless voice as I sink graciously on the recamier.) Tom darling please come fan me… And Colin, be a dear and give this girl an ice cold lemonade.

    • NUTBALLS says:

I hanging out with the ladies who don’t make a big deal over a word or baseless accusations against me. Yesterday was like Bizarro World and best left in the dust.

      • Boston Green Eyes says:

Oh nutballs, come over here with me and we will enjoy our tea and scones on this nice settee.

      • Catherine says:

NB, I just checked that thread and I’m glad I missed it, good to see you’re back.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Thank you Boston Green Eyes. I’m gonna start with a stiff one this morning, just in case. Absinthe didn’t quite do the trick last night. Perhaps Everclear will do the trick.

      • Lilacflowers says:

And who recognize out of context quotes when they see them? The fray is exhausting. Put your feet up on the chaise and the massage guy will be with you shortly

      • Madly says:

Lol, you are so dramatic. All I said is that you changed your tune about an actress. It was you who made a big deal over something that didn’t matter.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Madly, back off. I didn’t change my mind so stop with the ridiculous accusations. If you can’t see that a person can hold both positive and negative impressions at the same time then there’s nothing more to say.

Its clear want to fight, but I’m not going to engage you anymore today. Go troll someone else.

      • Madly says:

Please take your own advice. From my point of view, it is you who are taking these comments and this board too seriously and are getting worked up over nothing. Changing an opinion isn’t a bad thing. Pointing it out isn’t bad either.

all I pointed out was that your opinion changed, which it did and not it wasn’t holding contradicting thoughts on people. No need to get hostile and juvenile over it. Why does pointing this out bother you so much? That is the part that doesn’t make any sense to me.

      • antipodean says:

What happened yesterday? I must have missed it.

      • neutral says:

Hi, I’m on your side too. 🙂

      • neutral says:

        2-2 draw. Full Time ladies.

      • jammypants says:

oh lord can we just drop this? It’s going nowhere.

      • frisbee says:

Just went and found it and I must say, NUTBALLS I’m blown away by your ability to do bold text whilst headbanging your own desk!

      • NUTBALLS says:

frisbee, I didn’t know I could do that until both involuntary motions took over simultaneously. It was my WTF! reaction on steroids.

      • icerose says:

Yesterdays session was certainly lively and interesting but that is the internet. I have always said it is like having conversation with the back door wide open Nutballs you held your ground well.Mind you twitter is the worst,

      • NUTBALLS says:

Thanks icerose. I need to learn to better spot the useless debates and cut them off early. Thankfully, they rarely occur on Tom’s threads.

Are you getting excited about LFF?? You deserve a solid hug from Tom after having to skip out on Nuffield.

      • icerose says:

Nutballs I remember back in the old days we had some pretty interesting philological /social discussions along side tea parties and the fun stuff which i loved but I do not believe it should get into attacking individuals. It was fun because there was a little
        something for everyone
A hug from Tom would be a dream but I will be safely in my seat when he is signing if it is anything like last year

    • Jeanette says:

Are my boyfriend’s Fassy and Charles the H attending this swaree’ ??? The little scamps seem to run off everytime I lose the padlock keys! No need to ogle ladies..enough to go around!

      • Lilacflowers says:

Fassy has taken a sudden interest in small kitchen appliances. He’s down in the pantry, playing with the slow cooker and the blender. Perhaps he could prepare something for you?

      • NUTBALLS says:

What?? The Assbender is here too? I’m gonna pop some penicillin before I hunt him down in nothing but my apron.

      • antipodean says:

Just found what happened yesterday, dear Nutballs, you had an exhausting time of it, but your posts are always cogent and well thought out. Enjoy your absinthe, well earned. @lilacflowers, could you ask Fassy if I could have a blended dish of Hiddles and Hardy, with a slow cooked side of Cucumberpatch? Ta muchly.

      • Jeanette says:

I have some on hand NB. Frolic away..rofl..the visual..

      • NUTBALLS says:

antipodean, I’m not sure it was worth the frustration of trying to bring some logic to the threads, but thank you. It was sh*t storm and I couldn’t be happier for the boring calm.

Lilac, I was able to sufficiently distract Fassy from his kitchen endeavors by telling him I like my meat bone-in.

      • antipodean says:

@Nutballs, it is worth the effort you put in, and there are many, I am sure, who appreciate and acknowledge your contributions, a voice in the wilderness you might even say. Make sure you leave enough Fassy leftovers for me, and can I borrow some of your penicillin?

      • NUTBALLS says:

        *blushes*

antipodean, thank you for your kind words. I’m sending Fassy over to you right now with pills in hand. He’s a little tired from our morning rumpus, but I think he’s about to get second wind. Have fun!

PS: the apron was a hit as well as the spatula, in case you need dress-up ideas.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Fassy usually resides over at Thornfield but he turned up here today in his quest to provide Kate Winslet with kitchen apparatus. Do with him as you will before the Thornfield crew ask for his return.

      • whoisme says:

        *soiree

    • antipodean says:

I shall try to revive him as best as I can! Do you think a Lady Macbeth outfit would help him to sit up and take notice? Perhaps I shall also hold a sultry whisk in my red right hand?

  6. Ohhh says:

Would I hit it? Once I’d had the requisite amount of pints it would be a physical impossibility, but no pub has that much beer…

He and Cumberbatch look like scary aliens stop posting so many pics of them

    • meme says:

      same here. would not hit.

      • gure says:

you stole my nick name BTW . meme was my nickname. Now I have to take another one because of YOU!!
What are you doing here exactly if you don’t like Tom?

      • jammypants says:

She never fails to show up in Tommy threads to tell us, once again and again and again, that she doesn’t like him. That takes effort man.

  7. Lennox says:

For some reason I feel like he’s very aware that wearing blue brings out his eyes.

  8. Would I hit it? Dear God. To steal Bruce Willis’s line from Moonlighting “do bears bear? Do bees bee?”
Of course I’d hit it. Long, drawn out and continuously.

  9. Boston Green Eyes says:

I would most certainly “hit it” but I do think that he’s a bit too casual for the Red Carpet. I mean, he’s not even business casual here!

  10. MG says:

Such a tall drink of water….and I’m so damn thirsty!

  11. NUTBALLS says:

His shirt’s not tight enough, but I think I could muster up the energy to climb that mountain and summit his peak.

  12. CarrieUK says:

Seriously he’s always done it for me, esp the Loki era but he’s going beyond that now……almost too hot for me to cope really.
I HATE scary movies but I may see this just for his hotness, then I’ll have nightmares for a month and massively regret it and rewatch Thor over and over

  13. InvaderTak says:

    Cornball. But he’s cute.

  14. Lala says:

The movie looks very cliché and not scary at all. Still, I hope it’s good.

  15. laprincesita says:

    This man is so beautiful!

  16. CarrieUK says:

After watching that clip (God I love his voice) I may have to rethink watching this as that thing pulling itself across the hallway floor….no thanks

  17. seesittellsit says:

I would hit it and borrow the shirt afterward. I love denim and I love the “boyfriend” look in jeans and shirts, especially plaid ones, which are quite the rage now if the lineup I was confronted with last weekend in TJ Maxx is any indication of trend. I bought two.

  18. Stephanie says:

I’d hit that like a house on fire!!! 🔥

  19. Ankhel says:

I can’t anymore with all these “would you hit it?” questions regarding Tom. I feel like a small yorkie zooming around, panting, while some @£§€ pretends to throw a stick, over and over again. Yes, I want the stick. Stick, please. Stick SO nice. No stick? *whines*

  20. koko says:

Not going to “hit” it but I wouldn’t mind tying it up and covering it with some sweet concoction that only I could remove. I’m glad the Tommy drought is finally over and he’s back home on CB where he belongs.
    🙂

  21. Diana B says:

Damn right I would! This promotional tour is reaaaaaally agreeing with him, right?

  22. Phoebe says:

I believe at this point that question is rhetorical? I’m just shocked that some commenters say they WOULDN’T!

I never wanted to believe my perfect boyfriend was a bit of a narcissist, I suppose all actors are, but the exclusively blue tops (brings out his eyes) and perfect posing tell me he knows what he’s doing. He knows he looks f*^%ing good and knows how to generate the tweets, posts, comments and Tumblr meltdowns.

I suppose that doesn’t have to be narcissism, just awareness of his brand and business savvy.

  23. meme says:

enough of these two. where are CHARLIE HUNNAM and Jessica Chastain?

    • NUTBALLS says:

I think they’re both filming right now.

    • Lilacflowers says:

Jessica is on Mars. Charlie has been kidnapped by Sparkles

      • meme says:

It was a rhetorical question. I know where Charlie is…he’s filming Z but I NEED to see some new photos of Mr. Gorgeous.

      • NUTBALLS says:

I keep forgetting she’s promoting multiple films too. The Martian isn’t on my radar… too many cheeseball lines in the trailer to get me excited.

Sicario is the one I’ll be seeing this week.

ETA: just saw a clip from the Germany premier and they said that Jess was filming in Poland. Her IMDB says she’s working on The Zookeeper’s Wife.

      • Dara says:

Sicario is near the top of my list too – but it looks like a fairly limited release, it’s only in a few theaters in my area, and none conveniently located.

I’m hoping The Martian is good, I do plan on seeing it. It looks like Ridley Scott finally got his groove back.

And it looks like Crimson Peak will actually screen on Thursday evening – the 15th, and in a theater only a few minutes from home. Guess where I’ll be that evening?
I can’t believe it’s finally here – and I’ll be going in relatively spoiler-free, which is an achievement for me.

      • NUTBALLS says:

Dara, I’ll be interested in hearing what some of you ladies think of The Martian. I may end up going to see it despite the cornball lines, if there’s enough positive feedback.

I won’t see CP until Saturday the 17th since that’s the earliest we can get a sitter. I’m getting very excited about it!

    • jammypants says:

Not sure why CB doesn’t cover those two more. I have yet to see a Crimson Peak post with all 4 actors mentioned and not just Tommy and/or Mia.

      • TotallyBiased says:

I think it’s all about who’s available for promotion–each post has been about a different screening and/or photo call, and Kaiser includes whomever is there with Tom.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Charlie hasn’t done any CP promo. Jessica did the SDCC stuff and some stuff in NY after TIFF but none of that, other than the Twitter thing has shown up anywhere yet

      • Dara says:

I would have thought Jim Beaver, Burn Gorman and Doug Jones would be getting more mention by the Universal/Legendary PR machine as well. They may have limited screen time, but they all have pretty hardcore fanbases which would drive more word of mouth if nothing else. Folks in Hall H might have flipped out even more if all of them had appeared at SDCC alongside GdT, Tom, Mia and Jessica.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I’m seeing The Martian tomorrow night. Hope to see Sicario this weekend. There will be an October 15 early screening of CP but I have a conflict so going on the Friday

  24. Sarah01 says:

He’s very handsome but don’t like this pose, it’s too posey. And prefer him in a suit.

  25. NUTBALLS says:

Short video of Tom and Mia promoting in Germany:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENi3kENcR_E

  26. seesittellsit says:

It does do nice things for his eyes but I also seem to see a receding hairline . . . do my eyes deceive me?

    • Dara says:

That’s a question for the ages, and I honestly can’t decide. I was looking at some photos from a few years ago and his hairline looked very similar, maybe even a little worse. A lot depends on length, style and how much product he has in it. I do think there has been a slow march upward for the last few years, but it’s not as dramatic as some photos show.

I’m hoping after a minor strategic retreat, the hairline holds around the DDL or Sting territory.
      http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/3062619/daniel-day-lewis-returns-to-hollywood-as-oscars-2014-presenter-01/
      http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/3468200/anne-hathaway-robert-de-niro-the-intern-premiere-31/

I’m just not sure Tom’s skull has the right shape to pull off a full chrome-dome, like Mark Strong or Corey Stoll – both of whom I think actually look better without hair.

    • gure says:

He had the same hairline 10 years ago in ‘ Victoria Cross Heroes’ : http://asset-1.soupcdn.com/asset/6728/8193_1139.gif
      So, NO.

      • seesittellsit says:

Eh, with what his hair has been through with dyeing and wigs, given that it’s not terribly thick, he’s probably lucky it’s still there. Maybe it’s the orange tan line not going all the way up. I wish he’d stop that.

      • neutral says:

As was said on the last thread, many of the photos from outside in Paris had no “tan line” showing at all and it wasn’t there at TIFF http://yinye26.tumblr.com/post/130151427276/so-yesterday-i-took-a-selfie-woth-tom-hiddleston

      • Dara says:

I do sometimes think it’s a combination of the lighting and how some photographers “process” their photos before uploading them too. Pool photographers at events like these are on a deadline, they have to process and upload a lot of photos in a short amount of time and most probably run their photos through preset adjustments/filters in their software.

If they are trying to compensate for extreme lighting conditions (lots of flashes or evening events) their normal filters may not work very well, but they don’t have time to fuss around too much – hence the occasional orange cast, a more prominent “tan line” at his hairline, and why sometimes his scars and freckles are more visible than at other times. Just a thought.

      • KTE says:

His hair used to be quite thick – some of the early theatre-related interviews mention it being very thick and unruly. That it has thinned out so much is either down to the continual straightening and dieing or a hairdresser determined to make it manageable by thinning it out.

  27. BobaFelt says:

    Mama like.

He can Shakes his Speare at me any time.

  28. Elizabeth says:

He and Cumberbatch are different types. They have different faces and different bodies. Of course they look good in different things.

    • Phoebe says:

The difference is that Cumberbatch wears the SAME chambray shirt allllll the time. Tom wears blue all the time but he mixes it up, so I’ll allow a little chambray/denim sprinkled here and there for Thomas.

  29. Lilacflowers says:

Tom, Mia, and GDT are doing another Twitter Q&A tomorrow. This one is for IMDB

    • NUTBALLS says:

The last one was disappointing. I’ll wait and get the highlights.

    • neutral says:

I wonder if/how any of them remember which country they are in.

      • Lilacflowers says:

An “If it’s Tuesday, this must be Belgium” tour group sort of haze must take over at some point. He probably gets confused over which project he’s pushing at any given time too. Three movies premiering or releasing at once; the UN Global Goals project, for which he is a spokesman; the NTLive Coriolanus rebroadcast with the new app; and the BBC advertising TNM. He has just another two and a half weeks of this before he disappears again into the monkey movie.

      • neutral says:

Think the jungle will feel like a rest after that!

  30. et alors says:

Free Crimson Peak screening in San Francisco tomorrow night.

    https://twitter.com/batsday/status/649273455377039360

I would so be there if only it weren’t first come, first served. Would be fun to see the SF denizens in steampunk attire.

  31. Madly says:

Starting to already get Tommy fatigued. All his photos and interviews are starting to blend together. Thank goodness this movie opens soon and the others are more limited in release.

    • neutral says:

You aren’t forced to lurk you know.

    • jammypants says:

I think once you get to see any of the three upcoming films, it might help. It is tiring to hear about the work and never getting to see it. I was lucky and saw two. If you need a Tommy break, totally get it. Promoting 3 films at once can feel very in your face and things do blur together.

      • Madly says:

@jammy, I think that might be it. I am on the fence for seeing Crimson Peak just because it might be too scary for me.

        Thanks for your kind reply!

  32. Heather says:

Would I hit it… Yes, of course! But only if he wanted me to. 😉

Thursday tomorrow. Where is the tour heading for next I wonder?

  33. Lilacflowers says:

In the last three weeks, Tom has been in: Toronto, New York, San Sebastian, London, Rome, Paris, and Berlin. Those frequent flier miles are piling up.

Any guesses to where he’ll pop up next? He’s scheduled for the LFF gala but that isn’t until October 9, more than a week from now. Then just another week before he disappears into the jungle for the monkey movie.

    • icerose says:

no but i have heard there is no USA release for High Rise scheduled-any one hear anything differene

  34. Beach girl says:

He’s popped up in London by the BBC2 studios. Great pics. Not sure why he’s there, followed by Luke.
