Was Zoe Kravitz the best dressed ‘Mad Max’ woman at the Critics’ Choice?

wenn23372519

Mad Max: Fury Road picked up eight awards at last night’s Critics Choice Awards, mostly for technical stuff, but the film did win “Best Action Film.” So there was a nice moment when all five of the “wives” came up on stage to accept the award on George Miller’s behalf – Zoe Kravitz, Abbey Lee, Courtney Eaton, Riley Keough, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley all played the “wives” rescued by Charlize Theron’s Furiosa, so it was really sort of cool.

Rosie attended the Critics’ Choice Awards with her fiancé Jason Statham, who was there as a comedy nominee too. They looked pretty happy together, although I think Rosie was sort of phoning it in with this asymmetrical Saint Laurent gown. She’s got that killer body and a beautiful face – she could wear almost anything, so why a gown that makes her chest look lopsided?

And here’s Zoe Kravitz in Dior, with her boyfriend Twin Shadow. I love that Zoe wore a color and I love that she wore pants. That being said… she looks so slender to me. She’s already a petite woman, but she seems to have lost a lot of weight in the past few months in particular.

For a moment, I thought Riley Keough’s Dior look was a studded jumpsuit, and while I hated that idea, I thought it might have been cool. But these are not “studs,” they are holes. You are seeing flesh in those little holes. That’s worse, isn’t it? And it’s particularly bad because I’ve grown very fond of Riley and I think she’s so beautiful. She could have worn anything! Why this?

I like Rosie’s outfit much better. Zoe’s shirt looks too small and her hair looks dirty, although I do love the pants and color.

    • BossyKat says:

      Uh..just a quick question @Nicole —

How does Zoe’s hair “look dirty?”

Do you have better resolution than me and see lint, or flakes or ‘dirt,’ in it?

      I do not.

So I don’t know what you mean, and it seems vaguely insulting.

I hope you’re not saying that just because she has a ‘natural’ kinky-curly hair texture and is wearing ‘braids.’

Have we learned nothing from the Zendaya/Giuliana Rancic mess?

      • Evasmom says:

Thank you Bossykat. When I read that I was like what? What on earth does she mean by that? I think it is cute.

      • Catwoman says:

How does an opinion that someone’s hair looks dirty devolve into an ethnic, racist slur? People are way too quick to find offense these days IMHO.

      • Chinoiserie says:

Hernhair looks so flat it can look dirty if you do not look closely abd see it is a hairstyle. But all accusations if celebrities having dirty hair in big events like awards shows seem silly to me, either it is just a flat hairstyle or too much hairgel (that can make the hair shiny), really doupt none of them would actually have dirty hair own a event like this.

      • BossyKat says:

Don’t know if you’re addressing me or not @catwoman — but there is a long tradition in white supremacy/elitist/racist/xenophobic type thinking that hair and body adornment/grooming practices that other backgrounds practice, are somehow ‘dirty.’

That because something is different, it’s dirty or unclean.

There is usually a fair amount of passive aggressive attack behind these insults based on no evidence, and that typically will stem from some kind of resentment on a personal level (I hate this girl for dating my mancrush so I will say she ‘stinks’ while looking at a still picture of her) OR..it can come from a bigoted or prejudiced place (those Indian people are unclean for using olive oil in their hair).

Just because it’s a hairstyle unfamiliar to you (collective you) or a practice you’re unfamiliar with – example, ‘olive oil as grooming tool’ or dreads or twists – that doesn’t mean ‘dirt,’ is involved.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        @BossyKat
Are we going to get a long lecture from you every time someone makes a negative observation about a celebrity on here? Because, while I think a lot of what you said is true, I also think you made a big jump in assuming that’s what was behind this comment. And most people on here are very aware of that sort of thing, so maybe give someone the benefit of the doubt unless they are clearly offensive?

      • BossyKat says:

Slow your roll GNAT – I don’t know what @Nicole meant which is why I asked the question. Why do you object? I’m not the only one who didn’t know to what she was referring.

I said in my post, that I *hoped* she wasn’t saying it based on xenophobic reasons. I simply asked what she meant.

She has yet to respond, and I look forward to her discussing why she said that. Maybe she does have higher Res than me. Who knows?

That said, who made you the post police and censorship board? You’ve even brought up past posts you claim are mine which you object to (‘long lectures *every time* someone says something negative about a celeb,’ you say…I don’t know you at all, and wouldn’t recall a post of yours if you held me at gunpoint…glad I’ve made such an impression on you though).

That’s just a weird pov, especially since I always try to be fair in my observations and unlike you, am not about shutting someone down or censorship. I post positive and negative things about celebs myself..so your claim is specious.

I’m not interested in getting posts deletedto that make me uncomfortable, I like to engage in discussion.

      • V4Real says:

Lecture or not I’m with Bossycat. How does Zoe’s hair look dirty? That’s a typical hairstyle usually worn by ethnic people and that’s usually how it looks. So tell me what does one see to say it looks dirty?
Too many times I have heard or read where if a person is wearing braids or dreads their hair must be dirty. So if that’s not what she meant perhaps she should explain. Maybe if she had said it looks dry, or flat or even oily might have been a better choice of words. But when you say dirty it comes off as if saying she isn’t clean.

      • Nev says:

        WORD.

      • littlemissnaughty says:

I don’t see dirty hair at all but I also think you’re a bit quick to judge and jump to conclusions. “Dirty” as such implies nothing. The Zendaya incident was something else entirely. People on here have been calling Kristen Stewart dirty-looking for years. It’s also often associated with the hipster thing and Zoe falls into that style catergory. It might be veiled racism, it might just be an observation.

Having said that, you may want to look up “censorship”. GNAT is disagreeing with you. That’s not the same thing.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

@V4Real, I have a lot of respect for your opinion, and I hear what you’re saying. I just think that in this case, it’s a big jump. I have also seen the comment, many times, that someone’s hair looks dirty when they were white and wearing it down. Although I do not agree with OP that Zoe’s hair looks dirty, I also think it’s unfair to assume there was a huge racist motive behind it. She didn’t say “and those braids look dirty” or “people who wear braids are dirty.” When my hair is oily and hasn’t been washed for a few days, I call it “dirty.” Not oily, flat or anything else. So while the term “dirty” may be a loaded one for you, I don’t think OP needs to be called a racist white supremacist passive aggressive elitist xenophobic KKK member because she made one comment using the word “dirty.” Those are terrible accusations and assumptions to make about another human being with very little to back it up.

@BossyCat, you didn’t “simply ask her what she meant.” And this does not rise to the level of the Zendaya event by any means. And I was not censoring anything or referring to any past posts of yours. And the “impression” you have made on me is someone who is more concerned about seeming enlightened than she is about the actual issue.

      • KB says:

Maybe the person meant to say messy? Look at Zoe’s hair here
        http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/3553380/zoe-kravtiz-lisa-bonet-will-peltz-calvin-klein-ads-01/

She’s got braids and it’s gorgeous.

      • BosssyKat says:

I know exactly what ‘censorship ‘means @littlemissnaughty, just like I’m sure you know that here on these boards, some people are quick to flag and make posts disappear.

I absolutely do consider someone to be ‘policing,’ and trying to inhibit others from posting (a kind of censorship) when they go ‘personal,’ and attack a poster’s overall style of posting, pretending to speak for the board at large.

That is usually designed by bullies to have a chilling effect on specific posters and to berate them off the boards. i.e., me and My clique don’t like you and your posts.

You can be as disingenuous as you want, and pretend you aren’t aware – but that’s the truth.

She could have just simply addressed what I said, you know, THE TOPIC.

… she had no reason to go in on how I post and my history of posting which has Jack to do with Zoe Kravitz’s ‘dirty hair.’

      • V4Real says:

        @GNAT
I also respect your opinions and love reading your comments. I’m quick to say that everything a person say is not always racist or meant as racist. But @Nicole comment just seemed a bit off.

Maybe I’m a bit sensitive because right now my hair is similar to Zoe’s. I have the front in small cornrolls while the back is loose. And I can tell you that my hair is not dirty nor does it look dirty.

Look at Zoe’s hair. It looks fine and like a normal hairstyle a lot of Black women wear. It doesn’t look dirty. Oh and saying her hair looks dirty is the same as saying her braids looks dirty because her hair is the braids. In what way does it look dirty?
I also never called her a racist; I didn’t read where anyone called her a racist or KKK member. @BossyKat spoke about the tradition of calling Black hair dirty and the racial connotation behind it but she never said @Nicole was a racist.

And yet we don’t know how Nicole meant it. BossyKat asked for an explanation but as you can see she never can back to explain.

      • Original Kay says:

I think Bossy jumped the gun a little. Asking for clarification is one thing “what do you mean?”
Furthering by drawing conclusions is inferring that you already know the answer, so asking for clarification was just a polite means to express the opinion. I have more respect if you just say it.

Gnat does, however, seem to fancy herself some sort of moral code moderator. slow down indeed Gnat!

I like what Zowie is wearing. Love the colour.

      • anotherrandom says:

Wow guys. I’m not trying to incite anymore arguments, but I wanted to say I think I get what @Nicole meant by “dirty”. At least to me, when I first saw the close up picture I didn’t even see braids. I only saw the piecey, frizzy ends and thought she looked like she rolled out of bed and didn’t brush her hair. To me it had NOTHING to do with braids or the stereotype that dreads/braids are somehow dirty. She just looks like she needs a good conditioner and frizz serum or something. I dunno, my hair becomes piecy and frizzy when it’s been days without a wash and I have curly hair too. I get that what I’m calling piecey is just the ends of the braids, but my first impression before I noticed them was “damn girl, brush your hair”.

      • Farhi says:

Lol, one shall never talk about a black woman’s hair. I learned that on the Beyoncé thread.

One shall also never talk about woman’s breasts.

I think CB needs rules of what shall not be talked about to make it easier for us all. Not everybody has the same background and the same sensitivities.

      • isabelle says:

I’m mixed race and took zero offense at the “dirty” hair statement. Her hair doesn’t actually look dirty but think the poster used the wrong word. My family has hair very much like Zoes. People think if it’s not sleek and styled it can appear “dirty”. We have seen similar comments with white girls on here (Aniston especially). When its looks unstyled frizzy the dirty word comes out.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        @V4Real
Ok, thank you for explaining how you feel about it. I can see why it would be a sensitive word for you because of its history. I happen to love Zoe’s hairstyle, so it didn’t occur to me that there was anything off about Nicole’s statement. But maybe I just missed it because we have different experiences.

        @Bossy and Original Kay
I don’t “fancy myself” any such thing. I just remember a time when we politely disagreed with one another on here. I see no reason to attack someone’s motives when you don’t know what they are, attack their character when you’ve never met them, bully them for choosing a word you don’t care for and generally take on an unpleasant, combative, hostile tone for no reason. There’s a way to have an opinion and to question about a choice of words without getting out the pitchforks. And I’ll continue to say so as long as I want to, without asking either of you for permission.

      • TreadStyle says:

I was on the same line of thinking as Littlemissnaughty… People commented all the time on Kristen Stewart having greasy looking hair & and that is part of the whole hipster thing, sometimes they look a bit more grunge then other times. Zoe’s dreads weren’t hipster so no one was even referring to that! To me she just generally looks like she rolled out of bed and is exhausted. I feel like no one is a loud to have general opinions anymore. Hipsters like to look grungy people, it’s part of their style! And if u need a reminder of Zoe’s style google her and she is the queen of hipster/90s grunge era and yes sometimes I think that flows into her red carpet styling!

      • Original Kay says:

None so blind, and all that Gnat.

      • Scotchy says:

I am also of mixed ethnicity and took ZERO offense to the “dirty” comment. I agree with the other posters where it just kinda looks like she rolled out of bed, but hipster boho chic is her thing so putting some serum in is most likely out of the question.

      • Miss Grace Jones says:

@bossykat for all her trying to attack you for previous posts GNAT has a history of whining and throwing tantrums whenever people call out either her or others racial microsggressions so I wouldn’t even worry myself with her trying to be the moral police in the comments section when she’s been particularly nasty and obnoxious herself when called out.

      • Nicole says:

Are you seriously postulating black people can’t have dirty hair? It looks dirty to me, that doesn’t make me racist.

        Wank on, Tumblerina 🙂

      • SloaneY says:

GNAT is one of the sanest, most inoffensive people on this site.

    • Loladoesthehula says:

@catwoman, it’s an opinion that resembles stale, racist coded language. It’s one that most black women have heard whenever we’ve dared to wear our hair in any style that doesn’t conform to white supremacist standards.

      • crtb says:

Sorry, but I agree that her hair looks messy and un-combed. I would not have use the word dirty.FYI: I am African American who is now wearing an Afro, has had locks and braids and a perm and a fade and used a hot combed. I took no offense to the remark “dirty”, Johnny Depp’s hair always looks dirty and he always looks like he need a bath.

    • alice says:

I agree that Zoe’s “dirty” looks doesn’t have anything to do with race or ethnicity: the girl looks dirty because that’s her intended hipster/edgy look. Notice her street style with thrift store looking (just looking: I bet they cost more than my mortgage) clothes mixed with luxury items. Not only. I’ve shared this before here on Celebitchy: many years ago I run into her and her father in NYC. She not only looks dirty, but she also smells really bad. And believe me, there’s a gaggle of characters you find in NYC, but standing in line behind them the starstruck effect was overwhelmed by the body odor.

      • BossyKat says:

Oh really @Alice. That’s interesting, you saying she smells and looks dirty from personal experience. If you’ve been all up in her grill and can smell the stink and see the ‘dirt,’ on she and her father, how can we possibly argue??

My question to @Nicole about HER HAIR, which you don’t make mention of, remains the same: why do you say her ‘hair looks dirty,’ from this still pic from the CCAs?

Your alleged run in with the purportedly smelly Kravitz’s have nothing to do with that.

      • SloaneY says:

Now you’re accusing someone of lying? What an odd lie. “I stood behind Zoe Kravirptz and she smelled really bad”. That’s way out there in left field. I’m gonna go with she was telling the truth.
Apparently anyone that you like couldn’t possibly smell bad. Are you trying to say that non Caucasian people couldn’t possibly smell bad and it’s all some ra cist plot that’s being perpetuated by Alice?

      • V4Real says:

“the girl looks dirty because that’s her intended hipster/edgy look”
Really? Braids have been around before Zoe was even born. Having breads don’t make you edgy and has nothing to do with being a hipster.

      • Dani says:

I know someone who’s met Zoe on several occasions (she’s a stylist for a huge magazine) and can confirm that Zoe is in fact, not that clean. I won’t say the D word because you seem to really not like it, but she is going for that whole hipster haven’t bathed in a week look, and it isn’t a pleasure to work with. Not everything everyone is saying is said out of a racist standpoint or intended to be a racial slur.

      • Yepisaidit says:

This is the second time that I’ve read about her smelling bad. 🤔

      • WTW says:

Well, if Zoe smells so overwhelmingly bad, it’s a wonder that guys like Drake, Fassbender, etc., seem to have no problem with it. You’d think most men and women would be turned off by a person who reeked. It seems awfully convenient that @Alice and @Dani happen to know that she smells. Besides that, I still see no evidence that her hair is unclean, like dandruff or debris. In fact, most of it looks like extensions.

      • TreadStyle says:

@WTW well I guess for the same reason that Matthew Mccoughnay always dated girls & has a wife even though many people say he stinks. Also Leo and his many girls, even though I’ve heard repeatedly he stinks. And the list goeson and on, some people don’t mind it I suppose. Still doesn’t change the facts though.

      • alice says:

well too bad some of you think I would lie about something so superfluous. I have no reason to make up something like a random celebrity sighting. Any way many of you are assuming that my comment means braids=dirty looking= smelly and throw upon this the race card that actually has nothing to do with anything. But hey! once the racist accusations are on the table every word has to be weighted otherwise it gets twisted. I repeat what I wrote: she looks dirty and she smells bad. Don0t you believe me? Fine. You don’t like how it sounds because you’re a Zoe’s stan? Perfect!. But you cannot assume racism because I reported something I experienced. No racism involved here.

      • SloaneY says:

Talk about putting words in someone’s mouth. Where exactly did I say I thought her hair was dirty? I merely said that I’m not dismissing someone’s first hand account of her smelling bad because it doesn’t fit my personal agenda.

      • Dani says:

@wtw it literally means nothing to me that she smells, I’m just backing up Alice because we happen to have the same info, aka she isn’t lying. Why would someone lie about her smelling? This isn’t the high school cafeteria, it does nothing for us to say Zoe smells. No one said she smells like poop or throw up or foul secretions. She just has a musty smell that could be a product of body oil or other scented perfumes. Don’t take it so personally.

    • Shambles says:

      Well… That escalated quickly.

      *passes the peace pipe*

      • Catwoman says:

I know, right? All because someone innocently mentioned her hair looks dirty. Much bunching of panties on CB this morning.

      • V4Real says:

How do you know it was innocently mentioned? Also that person that said her hair looked dirty didn’t bother to explain what she meant. My hair style right now is similar to Zoe’s and I would be offended if Nicole, you or anybody else said my hair looked dirty. That’s how braids looks especially after they have been in for some time. Perhaps if she had said it’s time for Zoe to redo her braids but to say they look dirty and then to have some try to explain it away as it’s her hipster look or say oh I met her and she smells bad is just a cop out.

      • catwoman says:

You are right. I don’t know for sure if was innocent, V4Real. I guess I just try to see good intentions in people and not take offense at every opportunity. On the flip side, no one including you knows if it was NOT innocent.

      • smcollins says:

Lol @Shambles, my thoughts exactly. It took about a nano second for it to go from zero to sixty. Wow.

      • V4Real says:

@catwoman “On the flip side, no one including you knows if it was NOT innocent”

And that’s the reason I said up thread Nicole never came back to explain what she meant.

      • Bridget says:

I think that really went well.

    • Alyce says:

I disagree that Zoe’s hair looks dirty but I do think the style could look better. The undercut paired with the pony tail makes it look like she’s balding on the side. I hate undercuts. Do like those earrings though!

      • embertine says:

Yeah, the undercut is bad and looks very uneven. I like the partial braids though, I think they suit her.

    • annaloo. says:

I like Zoe, but I agree — her hair does look a little unkempt. Here is what I see:

      1) the braids do not look fresh. I’m not sure how long it has been since her hair has been braided, but it doesn’t look like she wraps her hair at night. There are hairs that are look like they have loosened from the scalp and are frizzy looking at the base.
      2) The ends. Frizzy roots of hair that looks like it needs to be rebraided is not a complimentary look for ends that are flying everywhere. It only adds to the unkemptness. If the roots were smoothed and separated, she would not look like a Phish fan from Boulder
      3) Lack of shine. It is Hollywood, after all.

I think Zoe is a neo-hippie, hipster type– I think she’s a lot more casual about her vibe and this is not about her race. Would Beyoncé have braids that looked like that? No. Would Janet Jackson have a head like that? Absolutely not. Zoe is just way casual, and her hair looks so casual that it’s true that her braids looks a little unkempt. There are many people who have natural hairstyles that keep it on point and salon sharp, but it’s just not the case with this one today.

      • V4Real says:

See how you explained it. That’s a world of difference from saying her hair looks dirty. Dirty as in unwashed or not clean.

      • Gauchita says:

So if a black woman doesn’t go to the salon a few hours every week we can say it’s dirty? When my hair (straight, “white” hair) is totally shapeless but clean NOBODY think of it as dirty. When is oily it is because it’s not clean, but dirt is dry so I wouldn’t call something greasy dirty, but english it’s not my maternal language so who knows.. what bothers me is the idea that we can say “we don’t know so is 50/50” because racism is a real thing, and POC have heard THE SAME COMMENT in an insulting way MANY MANY TIMES IN THEIR LIFE. So for all the white people here, just google microagressions and try to understand that “we are so sensitive and angry” FOR GOOD REASON.

      • annaloo. says:

As a POC myself, who freely goes between battling her kitchen and letting it go natural, my guess is that Zoe doesn’t wrap her hair or that the braids may have been in for awhile. And no, it doesn’t mean it’s dirty, but for her hairstyle (as any hairstyle), it can look unmaintained. Maintenance doesn’t necessarily mean a trip to the salon every week, though Zoe is Hollywood and it is an awards show. If your hair looks like that, right or wrong, people are going to talk – esp on a gossip blog.

    • AlmondJoy says:

*searches for dirt* 🤔 I don’t see any. I do see that her braids are a little frizzy, either because of the type of hair that was used or the amount of time she’s had them in. Dirty is most definitely the wrong word to use in this instance.

    • ISO says:

Mmmm. No. Zoe is just a genetic anomaly with the combined cool of BOTH parents who shatter the It factor. I mean, check it out and be real- nearly everything is somehow “off” the norm. Her hair is a bit messy. The make up is minimal. The outfit is Ivanka Trump. But altogether? Blows every other starlet out of the way. This girl is beyond It.

    • bluevelvet says:

Agree 100 percent. Rosie Huntington-Whitley ruled that red carpet. Drop dead, effortlessly gorgeous. Jason Statham Is a lucky man…the rest of the styles, meh….

  2. ell says:

honestly, i’ve yet to see anyone well dressed at this award. apart for rosie who would look good in anything.

  3. Minxx says:

Beautiful color on Zoe but she looks haggard.

    • Naya says:

Perhaps yesterdays post desensitized me but Zoe doesnt seem especially slender or haggard to me. She just looks like her beautiful self. Not feeling the outfit though.

    • GlimmerBunny says:

Yeah, the styling is off (and the top looks a little cheap). The color in combination with her skin is gorgeous though.

    • Hadleyb says:

Her face does. She looks bad like she’s been sick or aged terribly fast. Maybe its the weight loss.

      • Elisa the I. says:

        Yep, she looks rough. O_o

      • amilu says:

I agree. Zoe is still beautiful, but it seems like she’s aged 15 years since the last time I saw her.

      • Dani says:

I have to agree, she does look a lot harder in the face. She’s still stunning to me (her cheekbones, my god), but she does seem to be aging rapidly all of a sudden. I hope everything’s ok with her. And her outfit is only ok to me. Rosie otoh looks great. I like her dress.

  4. BossyKat says:

    What’s a twin shadow?

I don’t like Zoe’s outfit. Those colors in combination don’t do much.

Also, the braided extensions, shaved sides, AND edtreme FKAtwig baby hair? Kinda overkill.

But she’s a beautiful girl with a beautiful face, and could wear a sack.

Love Rosie’s whole look. Her face is just stunning. Like a blonde Angelina Jolie. Just wish she could be a but more animated. Maybe she is onscreen. Haven’t seen Mad Max yet. Jason, hot as usual. Need to see Spy too.

I like Riley, she seems comfortable in her own skin. Not a lot of makeup, cool style. Don’t see grandpa elvis in her face as much as I do her mom (figures, lol) but she’s a beauty.

    • ell says:

rosie is quite shy, but she was really great in mad max.

      • BossyKat says:

        Thanks @Ell ! I think I’ll Netflix tonight!

      • Locke Lamora says:

She was god-awful in Transformers and I saw her in a few interviews and she was very dull. Not even shy, just dull.

I don’t find her beautiful in the slightest, too.
Zoe on the other hand is stunning.

      • ell says:

@Locke Lamora as a fellow shy person, the words “dull” or even worse “arrogant” are something i heard quite often. i don’t find her dull, she’s quite lovely in fact, just not an extrovert. but hey, to each their own.

      • Locke Lamora says:

I am also quite shy and introverted and awkward at times and she didn’t come across like that to me. She seemed confident and animated, but dull. I could be wrong, of course.

      • alice says:

shy? She doesn’t looks shy at all when she calls the paps daily. They happened to oh! be there n some exclusive resort in Thailand to take pics of her and her bf at the beach.

      • fiona says:

I think rosie has a very boring personality, but I guess when you look like that it doesn’t matter. Miranda kerr is the same. I’ve never seen them have any kind of personality that didn’t feel contrived & fake. She was beautiful but a crap actress in transformers. She’s all lip filler pout acting & posing. I think she is so beautiful but I can’t stand her in movies.

      • Dani says:

Rosie is so animated, I’m surprised she comes off boring. A few years ago at the VS fashion show they were doing the backstage interview thing and all the models were teasing her and copying her kissy face etc. saying how fun and cute she was. She could be as dry as a dish rag for all I care, she’s so gorgeous.

      • Naddie says:

I bet my whole payment on how she’s not shy at all. I think she’s just not extrovert and cheerful.

    • manta says:

I love Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s outfit and the asymetrical cleavage. I wish we had pictures from the back, the behind seems interesting too. And the change in updo is nice.
On some pictures or short vids, she’s quite animated when she interacts with Statham.

    • SusanneToo says:

@Bossy. Spy was ok, not as funny as the previews made it seem. Jude Law was good and he’s usually meh to me. Worth seeing if you’re in the mood for silly.

    • QQ says:

Twin Shadow Is the stage name of her VERYYYYY talented Delicious Boyfriend du Jour, George Lewis I’ve been following him for at least two years, amazing voice, great stage presence Dominican too (all so very swoony)

Fashion wise Everyone looks cute, I don’t get the hate, they are all young and kooky dressers to begin with so this is very sedated and occasion appropriate

  5. Magpie says:

Riley was my favorite wife in Mad Max, she showed the most depth.

Zoé is getting more beautiful with age…god, what great genes.

  6. serious says:

I am not too much of a fan of the formal wear teamed with tatts that look like you have been doodling on your arm in black biro cause you were bored in hair and make up. It just could never look elegant. That said, Zoe is a gorgeous girl and I like her IDGAF ness.

  7. Betti says:

I love Zoe’s look but her outfit was a bit meh, maybe if it have been a dress. Those pants kinda ruined what could have been a good look. She has interesting style.

I really don’t get the deal with Rosie – she’s a bland model and even worse actress.

  8. embertine says:

I like the orange pants! And facially I think she looks beautiful. I think the fact that she is so tiny combined with the colour combo makes her look weirdly like a little kid though. Anyway, I wish I had her complexion, either her makeup artist does amazing work or her skin really is that flawless.

  9. What's inside says:

Riley clearly has an infestation of moths in her closet.

    Zoe looks gorgeous.

Rosie looks like a goddess next to Jason. The dress drew attention to the height difference between them.

  10. Esmom says:

Rosie’s hair is just awful, eek. Zoe looks pretty but the top and bottom seem mismatched — not the color as much as the styles — the top looks like it’s from an old bridesmaid’s gown. I’m not a fan of the “flesh holes” but otherwise Riley looks lovely.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I don’t think many, if any, people can wear their hair completely slicked back that way.

    • isabelle says:

Just thinking about how sore her head will be be after the awards. That hair is tight.

  11. StumpyCorgi says:

Zoe may or may not be the best-dressed. It’s a toss- up in my opinion between her and Rosie. But you’d have to WORK to make Zoe look anything less than stunning. She’s truly gorgeous no matter what she wears.

  12. ali.hanlon says:

    Zoe’s hair looks great.

  13. vauvert says:

Rosie is beautiful and her body is fantastic, but I am not sure about the dress. The bottom is very flattering but I am not convinced that the asymmetrical top does the trick here. In general I find asymmetric tops unflattering because they make the wearer look lopsided.
I love Zoe’s earrings, wow. I think the peach combo is boring but she is probably comfy in it. I hope the holes in the dress and the see through fad go far, far away to die. Like in another galaxy.

  14. AntiSocialButterfly says:

Zoe. Looks. FANTASTIC!!! Everything about her is just perfect, IMO. Love her outfit, also!

  15. BadAssCompass says:

Zoe is slowly losing her HOT, a bit of weight suits her better. That ensemble is a lousy fit and not really her style. Riley is so pretty but this jumpsuit seems too informal, like something to wear in the audience of fashion week, or a brunch or something. Rosie is model-alien to me, I barely register her among mortals.

  16. SamiHami says:

Zoe ruins her look with those awful tattoos. Now, I like tattoos and have one myself (and want more), but she looks like she scribbled on herself.

  17. jenn12 says:

If your question is about Zoe Kravitz being the best dressed at the awards, why does her picture not appear at the top, but halfway down?

  18. CornyBlue says:

Mad Max won 10 including Director thank you very much. Also Rosie s not someone i consider pretty but damn does she won her look.

  19. Alyce says:

I don’t think any of them look that great but Rosie probably looks the best.

  20. Crumpet says:

All I can see is that Zoe has given me the perfect solution to my wild and wooly side burns. Shave them clean off!

*goes in search of the clippers*

  21. Jade says:

Zoe looks amazing and she barely has any makeup on, stunning

  22. serena says:

Um, Zoe as the best dressed? Seriously? She has 3 colors on and they awfully paired up. Nope, not good.

  23. Sarah01 says:

They all look beautiful. I think Rosie’s dress neckline is off but she looks the best.

  24. FF says:

Omg, lol, @ people who can’t deal with the fact that microaggressions get called out so passionately because people have been putting up with them for decades and are tired of hearing them at this point.

The real question is why is it so hard to say something else, or phrase things differently; address the issue directly – if ignorant of it – and learn something; or skip over a comment entirely if they think the poster is looking to find fault?

Why is the problem always that something was said at all, as if people should be able to pass comment however and whenever but callouts are a problem?

I guess what I’m trying to say is that if people have been saying for ages why they find certain statements/comments offensive why aren’t people learning something, and why is the attitude that those comments/statements shouldn’t be questioned at all?

Surely part of the annoyance on behalf of those tolerating microaggressions is that they have to keep giving the same lesson over and over again.

Ps – Another thing I don’t get: if you don’t want to read a ‘lecture’… just stop reading it. It’s just writing on the internet. It’s not that hard.

Ps2 – I really like Zoe’s look but don’t find that her tatoos work with it. It’s not a matter of her being tattooed, after all Rihanna has many and they still have a pleasing aesthetic. Zoe’s tatts just seem haphazard and not connected to each other. Then again, they might work better with a different outfit, they just don’t work for me in the pictures here. Nor does the parts of her head that are shaved but lol she walks herown stylistic path so I doubt she cares.

    • Snowflake says:

Her hair Does look dirty. I’ve seen plenty of dreads/braids that look good, this isn’t it. I’ve seen white hippies with dreads and their hair looks dirty. It can be a word used to describe without being meant in a racist way. So please don’t stereotype based on bad experiences. Not everyone is the same.

    • SloaneY says:

I would just like to point out that this is a gossip site. Perhaps NPR is more your speed?

      • isabelle says:

CB does have more intelligent conversations. Think it is a place where we can come for a more intelligent celebrity discussion. The best I’ve seen on any gossip site but anytime one person accuses an unknown poster of a “racist” remark claws are coming out.

  25. lucy2 says:

I kind of like Zoey’s outfit, it’s different and colorful, but man, my eyes go right to all the little tattoos on her arms. She looks so much like her mother though. Riley too.

  26. Chaucer says:

Zoe looks harsh. I’m not sure if it’s the hair or the makeup, but girl looks tired and gaunt as hell. I hope she’s okay.

Rosie should wear her hair back more often, I think. I wouldn’t consider her conventionally pretty, but this does wonders to soften her features.

  27. Naddie says:

I don’t get the hype over Zoe here. She’s cute, makes interesting wardrobe choices, and that’s it. I’ve seen the coments here before actually seeing her face (years ago) and I was expecting someone like Jolie, Alicia Keys or Halle Berry.

    • FingerBinger says:

The hype is because she’s Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet’s kid. Fwiw I think Zoe is pretty.

  28. KBeth says:

I think Zoe is really stunning, I don’t love what she’s wearing but vibrant color on her is really pretty.
All three women are exceptionally beautiful.

  29. kri says:

Zoe is the winner of the genetic lottery. But I don’t like the outfit at all. I like the idea of the color combo, just not the fit/fabrics. rosie looks beautiful, but she bores me.

  30. Yepisaidit says:

She’s not as attractive as people love to pretend. Her mother isn’t hot either.

    • AlmondJoy says:

Opinion is an interesting thing, isn’t it? I think her mom Lisa is one of the most beautiful women I’ve seen. Not sure why you assume that people are pretending when they speak of Zoe.

  31. LAK says:

IMO, the older she is, the more she looks like Lenny and less like Lisa.

  32. Limejuice says:

Rosie looks amazing. I’m not too sure about Zoe’s outfit.
