Caitlyn Jenner wants to be President Ted Cruz’s trans ambassador & advisor

FFN_KMFF_VANITY_FAIR_1_2272016_51983724

As I’ve discussed many times, Caitlyn Jenner’s continued association with the Republican Party is both infuriating and hilarious. I get that Caitlyn’s politics have always been conservative, but I really hoped that post-transition, her worldview would expand to the point where she could acknowledge that her party – the GOP – is terrible for everyone other than white men (and some older white ladies, providing that they’re rich). Caitlyn seemed to come close to some kind of political awareness just this week, when she acknowledged that the Democratic Party is better on trans issues. But Caitlyn has a new interview with The Advocate, and she basically endorses Ted Cruz and pitches herself as his trans outreach coordinator for when he’s president. SHE IS NOT JOKING. Here’s the part of the Advocate story, where Caitlyn is talking about going on bus-tours with her group of trans lady friends.

It was also contentious when the conversations aboard that bus turned to politics, which Jenner says they often did. “It got heated! Especially with poor little me, who’s the lone Republican conservative against all the liberal Democrats.” So heated, [Jenny] Boylan can be seen shouting “That is a lie!” at Jenner, at one point even swatting her head with a rolled-up newspaper. And drama is sure to ensue when Jenner meets Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail. The only candidates she spoke about with The Advocate, however, were Republicans.

“That’s just political B.S.” she says of Donald Trump’s recent inability to disavow David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. So who does she support for the nomination? I ask.

“I like Ted Cruz,” she declares. “I think he’s very conservative, and a great constitutionalist, and a very articulate man. I haven’t endorsed him or anything like that. But I also think, he’s an evangelical Christian, and probably one of the worst ones when it comes to trans issues.”

“I get it. The Democrats are better when it comes to these types of social issues. I understand that.” So why support Republicans? “Number one, if we don’t have a country, we don’t have trans issues. We need jobs. We need a vibrant economy. I want every trans person to have a job. With $19 trillion in debt and it keeps going up, we’re spending money we don’t have. Eventually, it’s going to end. And I don’t want to see that. Socialism did not build this country. Capitalism did. Free enterprise. The people built it. And they need to be given the opportunity to build it back up.”

Jenner reveals she met Cruz prior to her transition, more than a year ago, “and he was very nice.”

“Wouldn’t it be great, let’s say he goes on to be president,” she tells me in relating a conversation on the tour bus. “And I have all my girls on a trans issues board to advise him on making decisions when it comes to trans issues. Isn’t that a good idea?” she asked me.

“You’re going to be Ted Cruz’s trans ambassador?”

“Yes, trans ambassador to the president of the United States, so we can say, ‘Ted, love what you’re doing but here’s what’s going on.’”

She wasn’t joking.

[From The Advocate]

I’m searching for something nice to say here. At least she’s somewhat realistic about how she’s not being welcomed with open arms by political figures in her party? It’s sort of like the Mary Cheney conundrum – back in 2004, the Bush-Cheney campaign waged one of the most homophobic campaigns ever, and the whole time people were like, “But isn’t Dick Cheney’s daughter a lesbian?” My point? Caitlyn is allowed her political views, just like everyone else. But I think it’s asinine that she’s hung up on a party that has made it clear that they hate everything she is and that her trans status makes her sub-human and not worthy of the same kinds of rights cisgendered Americans enjoy. Or cisgendered Canadians, in Ted Cruz’s case.

Ted Cruz looks like he’s on the verge of crying at any moment. Caitlyn is the worst, she can have Ted, but stay out of the White House.

  2. Santia says:

Newsflash to Caitlyn: Cruz doesn’t want you. He doesn’t believe transgenderism exists, as God “doesn’t make mistakes.”

Every time I think I like Caitlyn, she speaks …

    • JudyK says:

She’s suffering under delusions of grandeur. She is neither articulate nor deep enough to be a spokesperson, ambassador, or advisor at any level.

      • Keaton says:

I always noticed that about her. She’s very full of herself. Very egotistical. It’s one reason I’ve never been a fan.

      • Pinky says:

I’m over everything about her. She is an intellectual idiot and doesn’t understand the US economy, as informed as she thinks she is on the matter. She’s the Stacey Dash of her marginalized group.

Ted Cruz is also not a great constitutionalist. Just because you can memorize the Constitution does not mean you comprehend it. He’s like Otto from A Fish Valled Wanda. “Apes don’t quote philosophy.” “Yes they do, Otto, they just don’t understand it.” Know who else can memorize things? Actors. And they’re demonized every day for having political opinions. This guy needs some demonization himself.

      • mia girl says:

Pinky – I love that you used that quote! It fits perfectly. I love that movie.
“And when he heard your daughter’s name was Portia… ”
        Yes?”
“He said, why did they name her after a car?”

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

She thinks because she’s rich and she supports them they obviously must still like her…poor dear doesn’t realize if the flip was switched tommorrow they’d label her a danger to the public and make sure she could not use female restrooms.

Add Cait to the list of people pretending the Republican Party wants them even as they target everyone like her.

    • Bridget says:

Caitlyn Jenner is like one big bucket of “I can’t”.

    • Snappyfish says:

Caitlyn is speaking from a life of white male privilege & it’s disgusting. clearly spending time with other people who are transgendered isn’t really teaching her much.

    • annaloo. says:

She is NOT the spokesperson that the transgendered community needs, Not to negate her individual experience, but she comes from too much privilege. for her to think that she carries the flag for all transgender or intersex is presumptuous. There are many other voices out there that did not have the benefit of the Kardashian press media machine behind them who are much more thoughtful and add a more substantive and building POV and presence to the conversation.

I would almost rather hear the thoughts of Stacey Dash towards BLM… it feels about the same. Caitlyn is telling her community to just shut up and secondary your suffering for a supposed greater good. STFU Caitlyn.

    • Ravensdaughter says:

+1. Besides, what are her specific qualifications for being a political adviser? That’s an especially tricky job on a presidential campaign.
Just because someone is transgendered doesn’t mean they can help shape LGBT policy.

  3. Angie says:

This is such an insult to the movement(s) of the Trans community. Caitlyn Jenner is nothing more than an athlete turned reality TV star milking her newfound fame while benefiting from her rich white male privilege. She is beyond out of touch with the perils of the Trans community.

    • mia girl says:

I tend to agree that even as a woman now, she can not untie herself from the benefits/privilege of her past as a rich white male.

      And to her comment:
“Number one, if we don’t have a country, we don’t have trans issues. We need jobs. We need a vibrant economy. I want every trans person to have a job.”

Under the Republican party, there is pretty much no way in hell that a trans person would ever achieve even the slightest protection under the law from hiring or workplace discrimination.

So NO Caitlyn, under a President Cruz (I just threw up a little in my mouth) even in a so-called “vibrant economy” every trans person would not have a job. It doesn’t work that way. When there is inherent racism and discrimination a rising tide does not automatically lift all boats! Gah!

  4. that time i didn't care says:

“With $19 trillion in debt and it keeps going up, we’re spending money we don’t have. Eventually, it’s going to end. And I don’t want to see that. Socialism did not build this country. Capitalism did. Free enterprise. The people built it. And they need to be given the opportunity to build it back up.”

This is why many celebrities should not comment on anything beyond entertainment. The lack of understanding of the complicated mechanisms of government and the economy, it’s just stunning. This is like Fox News bullet points presented as fact, and Caitlyn Jenner needs to have several seats for a long time. Go get educated outside of your wealthy bubble, and then come back to us.

    • Dlo says:

I am insulted! Actors are people too and can study the problems like ANY of the rest of us. The politians sure do not comprehend the issues but tell us how we should believe. That being said, I do agree that Cait is being silly to think Cruz or any other candidate wants advice from her.

  5. MexicanMonkey says:

She is a rich white woman who used to be a rich white man. She knows the privilege money brings and in her case that’s apparently more influencing than cisgender privilege. That’s why she’s Republican. Money.

  6. Vaya says:

Am I the only one sick of Caitlyn Jenner? I am kind of done with her now.

  7. aims says:

I am convinced Caitlyn must be a sadist. Between her marriage to Kris and this. She must enjoy mistreatment. I don’t know why anyone who is sane would want to be attached to Cruz.

    • Deedee says:

I think you mean she is a Masochist.

    • Lisa says:

Don’t worry it won’t happen. Cruz and those of his ilk are more likely to spit on Caitlyn or throw her in jail (ugh, I know) than even speak to her or offer her any kind of appointment. Cruz would see her as an abomination. Caitlyn is delusional and anyone taking her seriously is really misguided IMO.

    • Carol says:

LOL! Yes, it very much looks like Caitlyn is a masochist. Its nice that she is trying to change the Conservatives views on Transgender issues, but Cruz won’t be having any of it. Its like trying to change Hitler’s mind on transgender.

BTW – I know I’m going to pounced on this, but not all Republicans are against LGBT issues. I know a few, and they are liberal on social issues, including LGBT issues, but are more conservative when it comes to economic and/or foreign policy. Not all Republicans are like Cruz.

  8. Tifygodess24 says:

This makes no sense for me. Out of all the candidates Ted has the strongest, non flexible view on the whole community and yet here is Caitlyn being delusional. Smh. Ted Cruz is a slime ball that people should be just as worried about- right up there with the amount of worry people have for Trump.
Let me add Caitlyn has daughters yet she is supporting a man who has openly stated and supported legislation that would let a woman die (by not allowing any exception for abortion) before she was allowed to terminate a pregnancy. So imagine If a doctor told a woman she could or will die during child birth or anytime prior to delivery- Ted Cruz would still support that woman not being able to terminate. He stated such at one of the very first debates. Think about this. Scary. What the hell is she thinking?!

    • The Eternal Side-Eye says:

The reality is a lot of people who vote for folks like him either a. have the money to not let their laws effect them (Caitlyn would jet Kylie or Kendall off to France for a quick procedure and a little sight seeing) and b. don’t really care or think about how those laws would effect the impoverished.

With Caitlyn it’s a whole lot of A and a whole lot of B.

      • Lisa says:

Exactly. In his eyes, laws are for the poors when you have enough money to work around the laws.

  9. db says:

    What a fool.

  10. Who ARE these people? says:

This is like wanting to be Hitler’s interfaith marriage coordinator.

Caitlyn’s political mind seems to be stuck in the body of the rich white straight man she used to be.

  11. Snazzy says:

How is he even allowed to run? Isn’t he from Calgary?

    • Who ARE these people? says:

He was born there but they moved to the US and he attained US citizenship at some point, rendering him a dual citizen. A year or two ago he renounced Canadian citizenship (which was silly and pointless), and the small question remains as to whether his US citizenship is valid given the state of citizenship laws at the time, his mother’s (born a US citizen) status at the time of his birth, interpretation of the phrase “natural born citizen”etc. It would have to be settled in court with all the documents out in the open, and unless he were actually elected to the presidency and it were put to the test, that’s not likely to happen.

We’ll have to settle for knowing he’s a nasty right-wing theocrat.

      • Snazzy says:

        Ok gotcha! Thanks!

      • Susan says:

Cruz’ US citizenship is in no way in question. He was born to a US citizen and has that right from birth. He did not become a US citizen when he moved to the US. What people are questioning is his right to be President because the Constitution has a higher standard than mere “citizen”. The Constitution states that a person must be a “natural born citizen” to qualify to be President. So for example, a person naturalized as a citizen does not qualify. This was an attempt by the founders to prevent our newly won independence being diluted by a bunch of English guys being elected to rule.

But there is debate on what “natural born” means since it has not been definitively ruled on by the Supreme Court. One interpretation is that it means a citizen from birth. Anyone born to a US citizen would be a citizen by birth. Another argument is that it means someone born on US soil. I’m not sure what the justification for that restricted view would be to be honest. Being born on US soil is just one method to determine US citizenship at birth. There is even a push by some crazies that you are not eligible for US presidency unless both your parents were born here. That is phooey.

    • Mia4s says:

Born there to American parents I believe. He’d be a dual citizen but I believe he renounced his Canadian citizenship (and you guys can have him!!!).

      • Who ARE these people? says:

I can’t help but hope his US citizenship gets successfully challenged in the US courts anyway and he becomes stateless.

      • Chrissy says:

We have enough of our own crazy politicians. Please keep in there.

  12. Talie says:

Oh, honey….Ted Cruz would define you as a predator and not even allow you to use a woman’s restroom in public. Get a clue!

  13. Jenns says:

Anyone see Cruz eat that booger last night during the debate? I think that moment pretty much sums up Ted Cruz.

    • Who ARE these people? says:

Are you serious? This sounds like a GIF meme waiting to happen? EWWWWW.

  14. Bridget says:

    She is such an a-hole.

  15. Elleno says:

If she feels this way, then she is not truly living a trans life. It aint just about the fashion honey. Hopefully she will become more enlightened over time. It seems like she is not ready to let go of the life of a privileged white man. Cant have it both ways!

  16. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

Let me guess how that conversation would go:

“Hi Mr. Cruz. I’m Caitlyn Jenner, a transgender woman and I’d really like to be a member of your outreach program on transgender issues. I am transgender, recently transitioned, and I see where you and many like you come from with your opinions. In fact on S1 Episode 4 of my reality TV show I explore how it can be difficult to respect or like transgender women, especially the ones who don’t wear makeup or have good plastic surgery because – well…you know, how offputting right? But in that episode I learn a great lesson about how you should respect everyone regardless of their looks. Even if they do look man-ish and intimidating. In Season 2 I hope to learn even more and help those poor women with makeovers! Just think Mr. Cruz. YOU could be on that season.”

Smh. The only thing I can say is she’s lucky that even with her self-imposed bubble of ignorance that she does have the media exposure. Cruz and his ilk may be fractionally more polite to her than other transgender individuals because they don’t want her bitching about them on her show.

  17. Lilacflowers says:

Oh, Caitlin, why don’t you begin by telling Ted which public restroom you intend to use? Now, have a seat

  18. drnotknowitall says:

Argh, I can’t stand the Ks and their Js. Cait is no ambassador for trans people. She is an ambassador for the K-J brand, sadly.

  19. Merritt says:

The reality is Caitlyn Jenner is not an intelligent person. She supports Cruz and doesn’t care that he works to make life difficult for other trans people.

  20. Murphy says:

Those older rich white ladies (that the GOP is good for) also have to be married.

Also Ted Cruz DOES NOT WANT a trans-ambassador.

  21. felixswan2 says:

I just can’t with her. Disgusting, out of touch, privileged view point. Yuck.

  22. QQ says:

This is a Trash Fire, The Entirety of it, that is what we are witnessing with this election/trump/ted cruz and his phallic face, Caytlin Supporting a group of men that no sooner would they be in office they would try by any and all means to eradicate her and people like her off the face of this country FFS

I can’t even do this any more

  23. Easypeasy123 says:

    Shut up Caitlyn

  24. Nancy says:

She couldn’t make THREE marriages work, She has six children from three different women. It took her 66 years to decide she was ready to join the transgender community, leaving two teenagers in bewilderment, one in particular and four others who still seem to be only the product of her broken marriages. Yeah, she would be an excellent decision maker.

  25. Grant says:

I think it’s hilarious that she thinks any kind of “Trans Tribunal” would exist under President Cruz’s administration. Honey, good luck ever getting a meeting with you and your beloved President Cruz, That would be political suicide for Ted Cruz, whose main constituents are Biblical fundamentalist evangelicals.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Yes. I just know that Cruz has been lying awake at night trying to think of a way to reach out to the Trans community, which he probably refers to as “those sickos.”

  26. Bridget says:

To me this says so much about how Bruce Jenner was treated over the last 3 decades. That Olympic gold medal assured that every door was flung open, people treated Bruce like someone SPECIAL. And now Caitlyn doesn’t seem to realize that people who would have loved Bruce’s endorsement definitely don’t want Caitlyn’s. Cruz doesn’t a Trans ambassador, he wants to pretend she doesn’t exist.

    • sauvage says:

Bruce Jenner was a narcissist in a suit. Caitlyn Jenner is a narcissist in a dress. The operative word is still: narcissist.

I’m pissed. She could have been such a great role model, an eye-opener, a game-changer for the trans community. Instead – well, she is who she is, and she is who she always was. No amount of surgery is ever going to change that.

  27. sauvage says:

Ted Cruz. Who happily associates with the Duggars and the like, who believe that people like Caitlyn will burn in Hell and SHOULD.

    Right.

  28. word says:

Oh please, there are more experienced Trans people out there who would do a good job. Caitlyn thinks she can get whatever she wants because she was/is part of a family that seems to have every door open for them without having to lift a finger.

  29. holly hobby says:

One more reason to dislike her. She aligns herself with that troll.

  30. kanyekardashian says:

Ugh, she’s so dumb, as most ReTHUGS and conservatives are. They use their college education to make a living, not to think critically.

  31. Bess says:

I think Caitlyn should stop worrying about supporting Ted Cruz & start parenting her youngest daughter. The girl is being used by her 26 yr old loser boyfriend & looks desperately lost.

  32. Sabine says:

Maybe she’s oblivious that Cruz supports ministers who preach about killing gays. I’m sure transgenders are not treated much better

  33. caitlinK says:

Wow. I knew she was a highly narcissistic, shallow, elitist, ignorant person (as both Bruce *and* Caitlyn) but it never occurred to me she was QUITE. THIS. STUPID. She is deeply delusional, and a highly unlikable human being in general. She’s *still* a Republican, b/c she *still* thinks she’s above the law and immune to human prejudices. She’s had so much privilege, wealth, and special treatment for so long–beginning w Bruce’s white male status and triumph/celebrity as a gold medal Olympian, to extreme wealth–that she still thinks she can get away w enjoying (somehow) being a lone exception to the tragic reality of how transsexuals are treated in society. Selfishly ignorant and delusional.

  34. aenflex says:

I worked for years with a staunch, right-wing Republican butch lesbian. I really liked her, but I could never understand how she was able to reconcile her personal life with her political beliefs. Cognitive dissonance, I guess.

  35. Dee says:

    F*cking idiot.

  36. Suzanne says:

I wonder if when she/he looks in the mirror if she/he sees the same hideous looking human being looking back as we see looking at her/him. Naked must really be frightening. I realize looks aren’t everything…but this individual still seems to me that he’s cross-dresser and nothing more. Perhaps I need to know him/her better but I really don’t feel the need or the desire to follow that circus. Poor thing….just seems very confused and self absorbed.

  37. Caz says:

oh the poor love, thinking she’d be a great role-model & ambassador. bless.

cosign on everything everyone else has already posted.
