As we learned yesterday, Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian are engaged. He proposed to her Monday evening, and they went out celebrating that night, then announced the engagement in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Since then, the reaction has been… sort of funny. The Kardashians aren’t saying sh-t about it publicly. Twitter is having a field day. TMZ has run no fewer than eight stories about the engagement. All in all, everything feels pretty scandalous/stupid. So, here are some more stories about it!
The proposal & ring. TMZ says Rob dropped $325K on the engagement ring and the reason why it looks so much like Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring is because Rob went to Kanye’s favorite jeweler Ben Baller. The ring is a “7 carat, round brilliant cut diamond. VS1 clarity — in a VVS diamond eternity band setting.” For the proposal, Rob covered a room in Blac Chyna’s house in rose petals – as in, he killed 500 roses for the proposal – and he lit a ton of candles. He got down on one knee and she said yes right away.
Blac Chyna’s real name. When they get married, she’s going to be Angela Kardashian.
The Kardashians are not happy. Khloe has been actively ignoring the story on social media. It helps that Kris Jenner and the Kardashian ladies are on vacation in Vail right now. According to TMZ, Rob “blindsided” his family and he didn’t tell anyone that he was going to propose: “Sources familiar with the situation tell us, Rob went to great lengths to keep Kim and company in the dark. We’re told the proposal was ‘aggressively on the QT.’” He apparently planned the proposal around the Kardashians’ trip to Vail because he didn’t want them to be in the same city. TMZ also has a Kardashian-family perspective story, in which sources basically say that the family’s not mad, they just think he’s flaky and that the engagement won’t stick.
Here’s a closer look at her ring – in closeup, it doesn’t look as much like Kim’s ring. It’s still sort of pretty though, I do like it. But I do wonder how Rob “Sock Mogul” afforded it.

Oh yeah. I think I saw some back and forth publicity tweets between him and the jeweller. Angela is savvy, y’all. They’ll actually make money off that wedding, watch and learn PMK.
I 100% think they will go through with the wedding, the amount of money they have made and will make is too much for either of them to say no. It will be funny to see Tyga and Kylie during the reception

I have this idea that if we all just stopped talking about them, clicking on articles about them, paying attention to them, they would just go away. Of course they would have the famewhore death throws where they do more and more and more outrageous things to entice us to click, but we should hold strong.

Why do these people compare opulence to love. I would have worn a cigar band and been happy. The ring is beautiful, but they’ve been together what three months? I’m glad I’m normal…or can pass myself off as normal!!!

Agree completely. They seem to think that love is the material expression of it – the bigger bling, the truer love. It is really sad.
Am I the only one that thinks the ring is ugly? I never like settings which include stones around the band.
But then, I am very happy with my small solitaire, which as it belonged to my husband’s late mother has more love in it than any of these celebrity jeweler creations.
Kris Jenner dropped 325k on that ring. Rob Kardashian hasn’t made that much money from socks.
Robert Sr. was very wealthy and probably left him a lot of money, most likely in trusts at certain ages. I’m sure Rob is very comfortable, but yeah PMK could have paid for it even though she keeps her purses strings tight.
Whatever money Robert Sr. left is long gone. It’s pennies compared to the money Kim ,Khloe and the rest are making now.
He was also probably a “son and heir” valuing type guy. He died in 2003 before Rob Jr was a major screw up so he probably had high hopes for him

I don’t know, y’all, I have a soft spot for Rob. I want him to be happy – and functional, a worthwhile and contributing member of society. Having a family would be great for him. What is wrong with Chyna? I think her kid looks happy and well cared for – – she cares about nutrition, seems to care about family.
Where did he get the money? Um, I bet that kid has had a trust fund since before birth, the only son of Robert, Sr. Get real – they are all millionaires. It is only 325k, likely a drop in the Kardashian bucket. He has his ‘own money’ even if it is nowhere near the bankroll of his sibs.

I came here to HONK for more on this story. I truly wish they get married as soon as possible and seal this deal. If they’re happy AND can spite the rest of the family it’s a win-win. The Kardashian-Jenner silence is golden, they know they can’t complain or throw shade because what leg do ANY of them have to stand on? Rob is exercising, even took a group photo with them? She’s actually making progress! I hope she emphasizes (if she speaks to them, or TMZ) that this way, their family can all spend holidays together.
