Bachelorette’s JoJo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers are engaged

cover-1-435

Sorry, should I have said SPOILER in the title? Was there any other person besides Robby Hayes who didn’t know JoJo Fletcher was going to choose Jordan Rodgers on the finale of The Bachelorette? In one of the most predictable outcomes since the show’s inception, JoJo, who bent herself into a pretzel trying to justify Jordan’s self-centeredness, accepted his proposal. Why? Because he is The One. Since Night One, he was The One. And she is The One for him. And together they will become The Ones. Let’s break out the champagne.

For those who haven’t seen Monday’s finale of The Bachelorette”, this season’s final results will be revealed below.

From night one, the sparks between Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher and suitor Jordan Rodgers were undeniable.

“I had this immediate sense of comfort with him,” Fletcher tells PEOPLE exclusively of her brand-new fiancé. “From that first initial interaction, I knew I could fall in love with Jordan.”

“On those final days, I thought about who I couldn’t imagine saying goodbye to,” she says. “It was always Jordan. And that’s how I knew.”

And when it came to proposing, “I was so ready,” says Rodgers, 27. “JoJo is the one. I know that, no matter what, we’ll get through anything.”

[From People]

Can I tell you how much it bugs me that the guy proposes to the girl on The Bachelorette? She’s picking, why isn’t she asking? I realize this is probably not the show to question its lack of progressive leanings but still…

People’s recap of Monday’s finale is one of my favorite things I have read this week. Jordan, who is still estranged from brother Aaron, completely blew it when he met JoJo’s parents. The only thing JoJo wanted, aside from ever-lasting love, was for The One to ask for her parents’ permission to marry her. Jordan forgot and then made up some bs answer as to why when JoJo called him out for it. So JoJo cried – a lot, that’s kind of her thing. Eventually he called her folks and wrote her a note to tell her. All better… except for JoJo’s parents and Robby who all think he should be The One. They are filming a spin-off in which the three of them move in together called Jordan’s a Jerk.

And so JoJo and Jordan will ride off into the sunset together and live Happily Ever After, right? I mean, what could possibly go wrong with these two?

I feel like he’s up for the lead role in an American Psycho remake.

    • Locke Lamora says:

The thing is, Robbie was equally, o
      If not even more creepy.

      • Froggy says:

Agree. When Robby talked, I’d cringe. She should have picked Luke. All her crying and drama made this season an endurance test for me.
Her and Jordan deserve each other.
And what was up with her sister not saying a word?

      • Locke Lamora says:

Luke I also found creepy and way too intense. Plus, he’s a republican. The only decent guys that got somewhat far were Wells and James the singer, even if he was slightly annoying. Chase was like a robot, but he did show potential on hometown dates.

      • Harryg says:

Robby was super creepy! With his creepy hair! Creepy eyes! Creepy voice! Creepy way of walking! And BTW Jordan also has an odd walk, like a ballerina.

  2. Kate says:

And the breakup news should break in 3….2….1….

    • LB says:

Apparently they’re already broken up but refuse to admit it so they can get publicity. Jordan already got a new job commentating on football out of it.

It’s only a matter of time.

      • Kate says:

He struck me as a fame seeker more than anything else, especially after he started talking about his family “feud” with his brother. That’s a low class move.

    • Taiss says:

Dancing with the stars first, then comes the break up.

    • Miss M says:

Why the show brought Ben and Lauren there?! *awkward*

  3. Azreen says:

Whatever, Jojo can get any guy she wants. He’s the one who has to worry. And yes please to the Jordan’s a Jerk spin off.

    • Miss M says:

Yeah, she can get any guy… Except, the right one.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

If that wasn’t a case of thinking with her nethers, I don’t know what it was.

    • Missy says:

@Miss M: Exactly! At first I wondered why a sweet, beautiful girl like JoJo was single. Then I saw her terrible decision-making on The Bachelorette and it all made sense.

      • Miss M says:

That’s precisely right, Missy! I was glad Ben Higgins didn’t pick her. Too much drama with her.

      • Missy says:

@Miss M Yes, Ben definitely made the right choice. And imo, the only reason JoJo fell for a nice guy like Ben in the first place was because he was dating other women. She liked the competition. Girlfriend needs something exciting (ie questionable) about a guy in order to be interested.

    • Noor88 says:

If that were the case, what is she doing on TB?

  4. Alix says:

A grown woman wants a man to ask her parents’ permission to marry her? Ugh. So twee, among other things.

    • Crowdhood says:

My husband did. It wasn’t permission necessarily to marry me, he asked permission to join our family. I thought it was sweet. But I also met him in real life and dated him for 5 years not like this whole
      Mess.

      • Alix says:

That’s really sweet, actually! Your husband sounds like a doll.

It’s the permission to ask a grown woman to marry you that gets under my hide. Not to mention that it’s this sappy pseudo-Hallmark moment that seemed to mean so much to her. How old is this dimbulb, anyway?

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Mine dd, too, except it was more of, “Oh hey, I’m going to ask your daughter to marry me, and I wanted you to know.”

    • Kate says:

My husband asked my dad first. I think it’s a sign of respect but I didn’t have to tell him to do it. He’s just a thoughtful man.

    • PGrant's Girl says:

I said this on a different thread a while back, but I hate the whole “permission” thing. A lot of people say, “Oh, it’s not permission, it’s asking for her parents’ blessing,” which is just semantics as far as I’m concerned. Ugh. So gross and anachronistic.

      • Esmom says:

Eh, I think there are aspects of the institution — if not the entire institution itself — that are dated and this is one of them. The thing is, especially for older generations, people cling to them. My husband “asked” my parents in advance for “my hand.” I also got married by a minister and wore a veil, all things we did ONLY because my mom would have fallen apart if we hadn’t followed the “protocol” that was so important to her for our marriage to be legit in her eyes. I didn’t even want a wedding, lol, but it was really important to her.

      • blue banana says:

Also, some people just like to keep traditions. Geez. “gross” ? ok

      • Dani says:

It also has a lot to do with religion and culture. It might be ‘gross’ to you, but to others its lifelong tradition. My husband asked my parents (as well as his own) for their blessings for our union. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s not like he went and offered four cows and a goat in exchange for a wife.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Says the person whose screen name indicates she is the property of someone else.
        Sigh.

      • blue banana says:

        HAHAHAHA, butterfly. that is classic

      • Nic919 says:

Marriage was originally a contract where the woman was chattel and it was a transfer of property. There are many sexist elements that still remain, like asking permission from the parents and the ring as symbol of ownership as well as the woman changing her name. People can do whatever they want when it comes to marriage, but they need to acknowledge the roots of these “traditions”

      • sequinedheart says:

My husband didn’t ask permission. I agree its archaic. My parents trusted that they raised a girl who knew her worth and what she wanted. When they met him, they knew immediately & they love him too.
I like JoJo – despite her dramatic tendencies. I think shes a smart, self made woman not waiting for some rich dude to take care of everything. I just wish she’d pick someone decent!!! but hey, everyone grows tired of that shit in their own time. I don’t see these two getting married.

    • Noor88 says:

      Cultured people do…

  5. Georgia says:

The men this season all look the same! I could have sworn the guy in the last picture was Chase. Girl definitely has a type XD

  6. NewWester says:

I would like to see a show about the ones who are rejected early on in these shows. The viewer can pretty much see who will not be staying in the first episode.

    • AmyB says:

There is a show with the rejects: Bachelor in Paradise. It’s a train wreck LOL

    • Kate says:

Isn’t that basically Bachelor in Paradise?

    • Missy says:

If you like a cheesy, ridiculous, and trashy reality show, then definitely check out BIP. It’s hilarious if you don’t take it seriously. I made my boyfriend watch it with me and it had him howling. It truly is a trainwreck.

      • AmyB says:

I agree Missy…..if anyone takes these shows seriously, there is something very wrong with them LOL. BIP is like watching a car accident on the side of the road, you just can’t look away 😉

      • Missy says:

@AmyB How crazy was last night’s episode?! It was great, minus the terrible things Chad said about Sarah. (Argh!) I’m hoping Jubilee and Amanda find someone (Amanda and Nick?!) since I’m fond of them, and I’m realllly hoping Jared and Caila hit it off. I’m excited to see Wells, too! Love him.

  7. Tiffany27 says:

That takes a lot of hair product to achieve that bouffant.

  8. Bishg says:

Someone wrote in the Margo Robbie’s post that Harry is facially challenged, but if he is, then WHAT is this Jordan guy?

    • MinnFinn says:

What is Jordan you ask? He’s gay. My immediate and lasting impression of Jordan, Robbie and JoJo’s dad – all closeted. As for Jordan’s face, I don’t care. But bearding matters because the deceipt and betrayal always ends up hurting their beards.

      .

  9. mellie says:

I swear his face is 3 feet long….

  10. Miss M says:

The tweets were hysterical!!! I am paraphrasing here, but one of my fave tweets said: She spent the whole season saying she was not sure she could trust him… Then, she followed her gut and chose the one she didn’t trust.

Jojo likes the drama, if Chad had not threaten golden boy Jordan, he would have a better shot!
I loved Jojo ‘s siblings faces when she was crying not knowing who to choose, when she was clearly upset they liked Robby (aka Ken doll) more.

    • Missy says:

Her picker is broken and she’s very immature. It’s a bad combo. JoJo wants the hot, dangerous ‘bad boy’ who will provide plenty of drama. As soon as her family said they liked Robby, I groaned because I knew that she’d choose Jordan. JoJo can trust Robby, and her family loved him, so OF COURSE she goes for Jordan. That’s her MO: going for the unknown. She was inexplicably into Chase The Mute, and her “project” was to get him to open up. As soon as he says he loves her? She kicks him out of the fantasy suite.

I think JoJo has golddigger tendencies (probably from her mom) and/or is a famewh*re. She wants the life Aaron Rodgers’s brother can provide. Everything about him is exciting (to her). She’ll need to grow up if she wants to find true, lasting love.

      • Miss M says:

I was telling a friend of mine that she eliminated, at least, 6 guys I had chosen over the final 3. For the love of God! Girlfriend has a lot of growing up to do. I don’t get golddigger vibes from her, but I feel she was very spoiled. Jojo gets what Jojo wants even if it is not what Jojo needs…

      • Missy says:

@Miss M Maybe she’s more of a famedigger than golddigger? Her dad is loaded so she probably doesn’t need the money. And yes, you can tell she is so!! spoiled. Her whole family fawns over her, even when they need to be giving her tough love. They liked Robby the best, which caused JoJo to have a mini-meltdown, and then they all backtracked a bit instead of standing firmly by their convictions. Sigh.

She eliminated all of my favorites, too. Wells was my all-time favorite, I loved Luke, and I loved James T. until his insecurity got the best of him.

      • Missy says:

My theory: When someone is extremely spoiled and always gets what she wants instantly and easily, it really affects how they approach relationships. Where is the thrill of the chase for a girl like that? She doesn’t work hard for anything. So when guys fall all over her and profess their love for her, she barely blinks an eye. It’s just another day in the life of JoJo. Of course she wants the forbidden fruit instead; she needs that challenge and excitement. When JoJo’s family stated their reservations about Jordan, that made him more appealing.

She followed that pattern throughout the show. She liked Wells, but he was the last to kiss her. She straight up told him to kiss her, gave him plenty of opportunities to do so. He finally does, and she sends him home. Chase wouldn’t open up, despite her best efforts. She liked that, even though he was otherwise dull. She finally gets him to say “I love you,” and she sends him home. Her final two are the ones with the most red flags (past relationship drama, rumors of wandering eye syndrome, hints of famewh*reiness). And when she realizes she trusts Robby, and her family approves of him, she of course chooses Jordan.

Yes, I have a PhD in arm chair psychology.

      • Miss M says:

@Missy: I liked Derek, James T, the other James (the fighter, who never had a single date with her) and the firefighter (forgot his name). Heck, I even liked Nick the Santa Claus. Wells was good, but not for her. They had zero chemistry.
Honestly, I liked Luke until his true colors showed up in one of the rose ceremonies where Alex, Jordan and Luke had roses and they kept taking her away for more time and he even came up to the other guys asking: Are you not going to talk to her? if you are not, I am… The tone of voice was very telling too. So, I hope he does not become the next bachelor.

      • Miss M says:

@Missy: Your assessment is spot on! She was upset no one was celebrating their love. Are you kidding us?! We all saw it through her dating behavior.
It was painful to watch her family giving her advice (she said her family’s opinion really mattered to her. Really?!). Her brothers knew she was going to pick Jordan, both of them gave a hard time to Ben in the previous season, especially the one who was in a failed reality show produced by Eva Longoria (I can’t believe I know this!). They were probably thinking… We should have been nicer to Ben, lol

      • MinnFinn says:

My theory is that JoJo was unconsciously seeking the type of love she knows best — disequilibrium. She loves her love target much more than they love her. She also wants more of them than they are willing/able to give. I think she learned that form of love growing up in a household with one parent (her mom) who was/is an addict. The evidence to me were glimpses into her very strained relationship with her mom.

  11. Esmom says:

I know nothing about him or them other than the last CB post written on the topic but he seems like a giant tool. I can’t believe this show is still going, too! I haven’t watched it since Andrew Firestone. 🙂

  12. Jen43 says:

I haven’t watched the show, but my daughter is crushed it wasn’t Luke. She wants him for the next Batchelor.

  13. Skins says:

I don’t watch the show but I always wonder, does the Bachelorette bang all of the guys, some of them, any of them. She must do it with the finalists, they are certainly not going to get married without testing the waters. Also, look at the loved out look on his face. Too much

    • blue banana says:

Matt Grant (past bachelor) claims that he had sex with most of them, sometimes two girls at once. Probably different when it’s a woman choosing from men, I’d imagine. But still, yuck.

    • Beckysuz says:

Yes she had sex with Jordan and Robby. I hate that I even know that. My little sister made me watch the second to last episode and I have never wanted to reach through a TV and smack someone more in my life. All I could think the whole time is what a terrible person Jojo was. Honestly I’m not sure what these guys were even seeing in her. She was constantly demanding over the top declarations of love then upon getting then she would immediately shit all over their heart. She was about as deep as a puddle and frankly didn’t seem like a very interesting person. She is very very pretty but other than that I couldn’t figure out why the guys would even want her other than to “win”. I told my sister she owes me two hours of my life back for that shenanigans

      • Missy says:

Yes. She was constantly making guys declare their love for her, and after she got that validation would send them packing. JoJo was beyond annoying, and my boyfriend thinks that she is the biggest douche.

      • Taiss says:

So she has sex with both of them, but she knew Jordan was the one?

      • MinnFinn says:

How do you know she had sex with both of them before end of filming?

  14. gene123 says:

Ugh Jordan is a grade A douche. I (sadly) know read a lot about him and he is just awful. They kept playing up the fact that Aaron Rodger and him no longer speak because Aaron let fame go to his head when in reality they don’t speak because Jordan cheated on Olivia Munn’s best friend. Olivia told the friend and when Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers found out, they blamed Olivia for trying to ruin Jordan’s life…I can NOT wait for Jojo to have to admit that she was wrong

    • blue banana says:

Wow! really? Yep, I always thought it spoke volumes that this family would go on a reality show and throw Aaron under the bus like this – no matter WHAT the reason. No excuse and shows the problem is more THEM than Aaron.

    • AmyB says:

Yeah I love to read Reality Steve’s blogs about this show (he is hysterical), and Jordan’s ex called him out hard on social media when this season premiered! I truly think the rift does have to do with Olivia being best friends with Jordan’s ex and she eventually found out he was a serial cheater. Jojo did not choose well here. Many are saying they are already broken up, but just had to put on a façade of still being together to save face.

      • gene123 says:

@AmyB Reality Steve is where I get all my details too! Makes watching the show way more interesting when you know the dirt on all of them. Also Jordan apparently aimed to be the Bachelor, not the winner but changed his mind when he realized winning brought more fame. Also they started talking prior to filming. The entire season was just SO obvious it wasnt even trashy fun

      • AmyB says:

@gene123 yes Reality Steve is where it’s at LOL!! I started watching the Lifetime series unReal because of him, and that show is amazing!! Totally showcases the producer manipulation of the contestants to get the drama they want. I love reading his blogs/spoilers and then watching the show. Makes it much more entertaining. Bachelor/Bachelorette/Reality Steve is my guilty pleasure in life HAHA!!

  15. Sabby says:

That last photo is actually of Jojo and Chase, but whatever all these guys look alike anyway. What is with their hair??! The last thing I need is a high maintenance guy that takes longer to get ready than I do.

  16. Linds says:

    “Shocking!” – no one ever.

I actually said BEFORE the season even aired that she’s going to pick Aaron Rodgers’ brother. That girl was hellbent on being related to an NFL star from the get-go. Even when the family explained that they’re estranged from him, she was pushy about Jordan making up with his brother.

Tbh, she’ll probably “suddenly” become pregnant within a year.

  17. tracking says:

Both vacuous fame-hungry narcissists, perfect for each other.

  18. Manjit says:

He reminds me of “Beaker” from the Muppets.

  19. JudyK says:

Jordan reminds me so much of Chris Soules (via DWTS)…always panning for the camera–just as he did yesterday on all of their after-show appearances.

  20. MinnFinn says:

There seemed to be a lot more contestants and their families that have cosmetic procedures than ever. Anyone else notice that?

Here’s my glaringly obvious list. JoJo–nose job, bolt-on boobs. JoJo’s mom–bolt-ons, really bad nose job, veneers and really bad lip and face filler. Jordan–veneers. Robbie–debuted his new nose job and new veneers in the Final Rose after show. Robbie had his work done between getting booted off TB but before TFR which makes me wonder if he’s the next bachelor.

  21. Chevy says:

I think the Rodgers brothers are extremely attractive. Too bad they are both… (Gay, douches, narcissistic, a**holes)

  22. Ellis says:

The “right reasons” for going on this show is to become rich and famous, so they both got what they wanted, with Jordan finally becoming as famous as his brother, though not for being an accomplished athlete, and philanthropist. If anyone thinks either of them had love light in their eyes during that very phony proposal, that’s sad. It’s the only part of the season I ever watch, those last 15 minutes, because you get it all right there. I wish someone would create a real “search for love” reality show. Real love is hard to find, and to witness really finding it would be uplifting. This one has denigrated down into a search for fame. So now Jordan will be making red carpet appearances just like his brother! And all he had to do was be disingenuous for several months, which something tells me (in 15 minutes), is not a stretch for him. Go Pack!
